Does CS5 really support OS X 10.5.7?

I'm trying to install the trial on my 10.5.7 machine with no success. The installer spoofs at around 100% completion, and then I try to launch Ps but it doesn't even show the slpash screen and crashes. Uninstaller doesnt work either, it hangs and crashes.
Same with Master Collection trial.
Does CS5 really support 10.5.7 ?

This is the installer log from Ps:

  • IPhone 4 does not really support MJPEG?

iPhone 4 tech specs claim that it supports Motion JPEG videos.
However, *iTunes refuses to copy any MJPEG video to my iPhone 4*. If I try to drag them, it says "<file> was not copied to the iPhone <name> because it cannot be played on this iPhone". If I sync a photo folder with "Include videos" checked, it just ignores those videos.
The videos are in exactly the format listed in the iPhone tech specs: "Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format".
They play perfectly in both QuickTime Player and VLC. QuickTime movie inspector says they are "Motion JPEG OpenDML, 1280x720, Millions; u-law 2:1, Stereo, 44.100 kHz", frame rate 30.00 fps.
All of my software is up to date. iPhone 4.2.1, iTunes 10.1.1.4, QuickTime 7.6.9, Windows XP Pro SP3.
I've tried smaller video sizes (640x480). I've tried both dragging and syncing. No joy. MPEG4 videos transfer no problem, but not MJPEG.
What's the deal? Does my iPhone 4 really support MJPEG videos? If so, how the heck can I transfer them?
I hate to say it, but MJPEG support is looking like blatant false advertising by Apple.

cls24 -- Click on the "iPhone" tab at the top of this page, then the "Tech Specs" link at top right. Voila. MJPEG support. This would be very handy if it worked since our cameras shoot both high-def and standard-def MJPEG.
Monty1945 -- It would be very helpful to know:
    1) Exactly how did you transfer your "old M-JPEG files" to the iphone?
    2) Exactly what file format (eg avi, mov) and video/audio codecs (use Movie Inspector in Quicktime Player) did those files use?
Otherwise, I have to assume you are remembering incorrectly, because I have tried MANY different combinations of codecs, formats, and fourCCs to get this to work. It simply doesn't.
Has anyone else tried to put their MJPEG videos on their iPhone 4, and found that it doesn't work?
    Thanks.

  • Does WAAS really support TFO, DRE and LZC for HTTPS?

We are currently using WAAS 4.0.17.b.14 to optimize HTTP across the WAN using TFO, DRE and LZ Compression. Does this same WAAS version (or a newer one) support all methods of optimization for HTTPS too?

In 4.0.17, you should only configure HTTPS traffic for TFO (TCP Flow Optimization). If you configure HTTPS for full optimization, then you will just be wasting CPU processing and DRE disk space as WAAS can't look inside the encryption. In a future release (4.1.x) there will be SSL decryption available so you can take advantage of full optimization of HTTPS traffic.

  • Does This Really Support the Thinkpad T510?

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73170
According to this website it does but when I actually got the part, there is a slip of paper saying this can only be installed in the following thinkpad machine types and there was this huge slew of 4 digit numbers where none of them corresponded to the thinkpad TX10 series where X is 4,5 etc which in my case the T510. So if that is the case, the online site the t510 is supported...whats the deal here guys is it or is it not supported

Yes.  I have that very part and use it regularly in my T510.  I also have the UB II in my T60.  They are different and not interchangeable.  This photo shows them both:

  • Does Cinema really support Windows?

I bought the 27" Cinema display for my computer anticipating a DVI or HDMI connection.
Now I learned I need an atlona dual link converter (extra $200).
This seems too good to be true.
Has anyone actually succeeded at connecting a PC to the 27" Cinema display?
I ask because in past situations this is where Apple teaches me a lesson-- for example the display detects Windows is somehow involved and fails aggressively (i.e. it just won't sync to anything but a Mac).
For bonus points: do I need to buy all related extension cords or something else extra to get it to work?

    Hi Ryan,
the LED Cinema Display does only have the Mini DisplayPort as you can read here:
    http://www.apple.com/de/displays/specs.html
However, it runs just fine on my MacBook Pro with Windows 7 (via the MiniDisplay Port of my MacBook Pro).
I did some research, but while there are a lot of (cheap) adapters from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI or DVI (that is, to connect a Mac to a HDMI device), there seem to be only few (and expensive) DVI/HDMI to Mini Display Port adapters.
An alternative to the ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter you mention (199 $ in Apple Store US) might be the HDMI->MiniDisplayPort adapter from Belkin, if you have an HDMI out on you graphic card: Belkin AV360 HDMI-to-Mini DisplayPort Converter (149 $ in Apple Store US).
    Best,
    *Stefan.

  • Does iPad really support N or fake N?

Hi I read the iPad doesn't have real N network hardware support, True? I have a G router and wants to transfer gigabytes of files. Would there be improvement if I upgrade to an N?

There is no such thing as "fake" N. You either support the HT IEs, or you don't. In the iPad's case it seems to support (looking at wireless sniffer traces) up to MCS 7 with short GI. Meaning you can get up to 72.2 Mbps with HT20. Not sure if the iPad supports HT 40 in 5 Ghz, have to look back in the wireless trace.
There are multiple versions of 802.11N. And the iPad for sure supports 11 N.
Also, on ifixit they report the iPad having a Broadcom BCM4329XKUBG 802.11n WiFi + Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and FM for wireless.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPad-Wi-Fi-Teardown/2183/3
And the iPad has only two antenna connectors. This could leave one to believe it is a single stream 802.11N solution, which has a maximum of MCS 7.
If you ask why the iPad only supports up to 72.2 Mbps 802.11N, that is a question only Apple can answer. However, I bet it has to do with battery life. It would be hard to support up to MCS 15 and still keep decent battery life in the device.
I also think 72.2 Mbps is just fine for most users since most people do not have connections to the Internet anywhere near 72.2 Mbps.

  • OK.. ha ha funny. But really does ojsp really support jsp:include ?

I've been reading this list for a month or so now and still have a nagging question.
Has anyone gotten ojsp to work using an include of the form: <jsp:include page="/somefile.jsp" />?
According to the Oracle JSP team you should be able to use it:
    <% request.setAttribute("show","script"); %>
    <jsp:include page="/search_navigation.jsp"/>
    [/CODE\
Similar to the IBM Websphere example.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
This sounds nice, but first the syntax above is missing the flush modifier (which ojsp requires to be set to "true"), second the server gives the error:
    A Servlet Error Occurred
An unexpected error occured attempting to run this servlet.
The most likely explanation is a problem with the servlet code.
Please check the server log for a detailed message.
So can anyone use the <jsp:include> action in ojsp (the current one on OTN)?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. Answers below:

  • Does JMF really support RTSP

    Hi,
I am trying to stream QuickTime .mov file located on a Darwin streaming server to a client side player/applet. The files were created using the JMF and are encoded using the CINEPAK codec.
No error is thrown and nothing appears. I have also tried using JMStudio to display the media file but again it just seems to hang.
Any suggestions, ideas, solutions, similar experiences would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Shane

We beat our heads against JMF/Darwin for a long time and never got it to work adequately. The only format we could reliably serve and display was H-263 which is completely inadequate for our purposes. If you find anything, let me know.
    Good luck.

  • Does Xcelsius 2008 really support office xp/2003

    Hi,
I checked the installation guide for xcelsius 2008, it shows that it support office xp/2003 and 2007.
But when i tried to install on office xp it just aborted with office incompatible error.
So Does Xcelsius 2008 really support office xp/2003?
If yes then why it throws me incompatible error message, do i need to make any change?

    Hi,
    I found solution for this.
    Below are the steps:
    1.     Go to Start > Run. Start the registry editor by entering 'regedit'.
    2.     Select the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and navigate to \Software\Microsoft\Office\
         a.     Create an 11.0 folder, if it doesn't exist, by selecting Edit > New > Key from the menu.
         b.     Create a subfolder called PowerPoint
         c.     Create a subfolder under PowerPoint called InstallRoot
         d.     You should now have the folder structure listed below:
              HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\PowerPoint\InstallRoot
         e.     From the InstallRoot folder create a string value called "Path" by selecting Edit > New > String Value
         f.     Select the newly created Path value and select Edit > Modify.
         g.     Under the Value Data field enter "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\"
         h.     Click OK.
    Thanks,
    Nimesh.

ata 133 is just a marketing gimick.............only data moves that fast is 2mb in the drives cache
the drive will run at about half that speed once the cache is cleared
    dont worry about it
    Er, I got another question
I'm now looking at this hitachi model:
    http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?id=210&pc=dealtime#
which has good reviews (probably for others in the range). I originally saw it on ebay but it turns out to be cheaper buying it from the above supplier.
The question I have is does the MS 6382 support serial ATA? I'm reasonably sure that the above drive is parallel ATA (ie compatable with the MS 6382) because of the manufacturer's info here:
    http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/d7k250/d7k250.htm
but I thought I'ld ask before I order it or in case I change my mind (again).
    Thankyou for your help

OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

    Hi there,
If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
    Any other queries, just ask,
    Nathan

  • Why does not java support raw sockets?

Java does not have support for raw sockets, that means it cannot receive the packet header, just the payload data.
But the header data of an ICMP packet consists of 20 bytes, and you can still write single bytes in Java, so why isn´t is possible to write a header for an ICMP packet in Java?
Can someone explain how it all works?
    Thanks!

You can do raw sockets with third party libraries. They won't be pure java - but you didn't really expect to do raw sockets on your cell phone or TV set top box, or spy and spoof someone's network using an applet.
The FAQ for one such library hints what kind of a mess raw sockets are due to differences in common operating systems; see http://www.savarese.com/software/rocksaw/

  • Does Macbook really needs adobe flash player download in order to watch video clips on the web?

Does Macbook really needs adobe flash player download in order to watch video clips on the web?

    Hello Angel8C,
Your MacBook Air running Yosemite will need an updated version of the Flash Player plugin to play web content that is in the Flash format (not all video content is Flash; there is also HTML5 video, amongst others). If you are being prompted to update your Flash Player plugin, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Does SAP DMS support EML format

Does SAP DMS support EML format, and how can I make it work?
I know I may need to add a new workstation applications for EML in DC30, but I don't know the detailed settings for e.g: mime-types and viewer configuration, etc. Can anyone help?

    Hi,
generally you can define a workstatiosn application for any file format. If the format has an extension with more than 3 characters please set the flag "You cannot rename...." in transaction DC30 to avoid problems.
Regarding the mime-type field I have to say that this is recommended by not really mandatory. Normally you should find the correct mime-type for the file format in the Internet.
In DC30 I would also recommend you to use the parameter %AUTO%%NO-LEAVE% at "Define workstation application in network". With this parameter the EML files will be opened in an external application.
In the field "file format" you just have to enter the value '*.eml'.
I hope that this information could be usful.
    Regards,
    Christoph
