Does deactivating PSE 10 delete actions and custom brushes?
Hi,
I have been going through the process of installing Elements onto a new computer. I know you can have PSE on 2 computers but I got confused and thought you always have to deactivate even when you are just installing it onto your 2nd computer. So I deactivated PSE 10 on my laptop and I am worried that my actions and custom brushes will be gone.
Hopefully this makes sense and someone can help me.

Help - Tech Support Lost my Actions and Custom Panels
Lord only knows what else I've lost. (CS6 - 64 bit) Anyhow, somehow my blur gallery (Tilt-Shift, Iris and Field) got screwed up. Whenever I brought them up, they wouldn't work and I couldn't get out of the gallery.
I called tech support and after taking control of my computer, he reset my Preferences and all was well - or so I've thought. Now I find I've lost my custom Actions and Panels.
Is there a way to retreive these and other things I may have lost, or must I start from square one?

Sorry I'm just getting back to you folks. I found where CS6 keeps my preferences. Then I went to my NAS to find the file backups and after reloading my backup program (long story) I eventually copied all the stuff back to where it was supposed to go.

Cancel a delete action in a trigger
Hi,
I would like to know the best way to cancel a delete in a trigger, I want to instead change a Field called Active to 'N'
My application is built on views that exclude records with this flag set to 'N'
I have found the IF DELETING ('id') THEN syntax which should be fine to capture the delete, but what is the best way to then cancel the delete?

I don't think you can cancel the delete action in the trigger if you want to perform another action afterwards. You can cancel the delete action by raising an exception (e.g. with RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20001,'No delete allowed') ;)
To cancel the delete action and perform an action afterwards I would suggest to create a view on the table containing all columns. On that view, you can define an INSTEAD OF DELETE trigger. In this trigger, simply update the column and do not perform any delete action. This should do the job for you.

I delete some emails ,there are moved to trash . I delete them from trash folder too and they still appear in a folder called 'all messages". I repeat the same actions and after a while they appear again!what should i do to delete them permanently??
If you are using Apple's Mail app 6.5 is the latest version irrespective of what a previous poster says. It does sound though that you are using a gmail account online via a web browser. Please confirm and fill in missing information.

Setting up Custom Brushes and ToolSets
I created a custom panel using configurator. In that custom panel I created a pop-up panel button, but the pop-up panel button doesn't trigger a pop up panel ? I want the pop up panel to have two tabs one to save custom brushes and custom tool settings, and those panels which save custom tool brushes and custom tool settings, saved with the custom panel.
The results is the custom tool panel that I created with the custom pop-up can be loaded into photoshop as a extension with the custom tool brushes and custom tool settings along with it, so it's not tied directly within photoshop but rather with the extension, I hope I made myself clear.Hi,

I'm also having a music issue. When my phone is attached to the computer (mac running 10.6.8) it looks like my music is there but its gray and I can't play anything. I've tried to delete it and it won't let me but it does not show up on my phone.
By the way, I have tried shutting of the display switching in the power settings. That was basically the only real answer I found anywhere. It didn't work.

I have an iPad 2 and so does my mom. We both have the app Slotomania and now all of sudden after having it for months, our games connected and we don't know how to fix it. Deleting it and reinstalling does not work.
Does the app now use iCloud, do you use iCloud and do the two of you use the same account on iCloud?

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts. All the instructions on synching start with "find your device in the device window". But what if you have no device window?
Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same. -

I have been unable to locate information regarding how the EDB handles deleted files. I am able to recover deleted emails from the EDB; however, there are numerous emails that I know have been deleted, that were not recovered during the recovery process.
Is this because the EDB dumps deleted emails once it reaches a certain amount of entries? Or is it more likely the deleted items are corrupted and thus not recoverable? Thank you for your time and I look forward to your responses. The
product in question is Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.Great information from the other posters and one other possible explanation is if the users did a HARD DELETE. More information on this below
Pre-Exchange 2010 Dumpster 1.0 worked as follows;
1. When a user does a normal delete of an item via Outlook or OWA it gets sent to your deleted items folder
2. If the user then empties deleted items folder those items are then marked with the ptagDeletedOnFlag attribute which in essence hides them from the view of the user
3. At this point the user can use the Recover Deleted Items function in Outlook to recover those items as long as the items were NOT purged using the Recover Deleted Items option OR the items have not passed still the deleted item retention period.
NOTE: Every day there is a nightly maintenance process that in short looks through the DB and examines items that have been deleted. Items that have met or exceeded the deleted item retention period are purged from the system and are
completely non-recoverable. More about this at the end of my post.
4. However if the end user were to delete an item from the Inbox or another folder in Outlook by using Shift + Delete aka a Hard Deletion the item is left in its orignal location and gets marked with the ptagDeletedOnFlag attribute which again just
hides it from view.
5. By default you can only use the Recover Deleted Items option on the Delted Items folder. Howeve you can make it so that you can recover hard Deleted items from other folders. More on that here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246153
5. The problem with this method though IMO is that you have to know where to look and that can be rather time consuming.
6. If you want a more elegant method to resolve this and are open to using 3rd party utilities check out Lucid8's DigiScope.
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp which will allow you to open any offline copy of the DB from a forensic point of view and to solve your specific issue you can either turn on a filter to ONLY
show hard deleted items OR you can search the entire store and all mailboxes for just deleted items and can then view or export them to PST or MSG format. You can download the product and obtain a 30 day demo license which will allow you to find any
hard deleted items, however to view them or export your would need to purchase a license.
NOTE: When a database is backed up or copied it is an "Offline" database and then its offline the data retention period is not an issue because the nightly online maintenance process can only act on a database that is mounted on an
Exchange server. So for this reason if you want to recover the most data possible use offline copies/backups of the DB with a 3rd party utility like DigiScope
NOTE 2: Exchange 2010 and 2013 use Dumpster 2.0 which is an entirely different beast and I will not go into that in this post since its nearly 1AM however DigiScope can expose that information as well
