Does Designer ES 3 address the 64 bit email client problems ES2 had?

Happy new year...
Wondering if anyone knows whether ES3 has addressed the problems with email submit and 64 bit outlook (and similar).
I had to shelve a project mid 2012, that was dependant upon data that was to be submitted by clients using a standard email back button (built in ES 2 8.2) - as the recipients who were running 64 bit systems (particularly those with outlook 2010 64 bit) kept getting the error message that no email client could be found..... I ran up a test system and had the same problem myself. As a fair proportion of the client would by then have already been on 64 bit systems/email clients, that rendered that approach untenable (and there weren't the funds for the full livecycle suite - or reader extensions (unfortunately)
After fooling about with the registry settings it can be got to work - but you can't expect a client to be willing to do that.....
Does anyone know if 64 bit compatibility issues have been fixed in ES3 (particularly the email client issues - outlook 2010 (64 bit)
I like working with LD and i'm happy to pay for an upgrade/buy another licence - but not if the issue persists....
Does anyone have experience with this issue?

I have run all the available outlook updates (one website suggested this as a fix) and still all i am getting is:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request; please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
Needless to say outlook is set as the default email client and everything else is otherwise up to date/correctly installed.
We dont have a lot of funding (otherwise would ditch the email back method) - ANY fix for this method?

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

I found the answer.
Apple has turned on an app-specific password for iPhoto and other Apple apps. It's located in the Apple ID management section under Passwords and Security.
As soon as I entered that new generated password in iPhoto I was able to send a pic with my iCloud.com email address.
Now I know where to go. Thanks for your help.

Problem regarding the standard email client in Nok...

I have tried for days to set up the standardphone email client with my email adress. I use my own email account from a domain. (.net)
When i bought the N8 last month it actually worked with the standard imap configure and ports used in outlook and other devices.
Suddenly i got the message that i had to reinst. the email-account on the phone, and now its not possible to recive emails.
I have tried almost everything, but managed to send emails after i deleted every mail account on the phone, and denied the terms at the end so my emails dont go through the nokia.com system.
Have anyone experienced the same problem?
Does anyone have a solution?

good to know your WebDynpro reacts to eventing sent by MDM Result Set iView. As you mentioned, the problem is getting the record-id from the sender ResultSet iView.
Here is the info:
Step1: display what comes from sender iView.
e.g. for NW04 EP SP14: Logon to Portal with admin access, then navigate to System Administration -> Support -> Client Framework -> SPOCKI, Client Framework Inspector. Enter the pcd link to the MDM Result Set iView, then all client framework info is visible including all parameters of eventing. If the parameter you are looking for (e.g. record-ID) is not sent out from ResultSet, then:
Step2: configure MDM ResultSet iView to send the record-id
Content Administration -> ... select your Result Set iView -> open it in Edit mode -> select Custom Events -> select event type EPCF -> select Mapped Field [Record ID] -> enter the name of the parameter (same specified in event receiver). Then repeat the Step1 to make sure the record-ID is really sent out from Result Set iView.

Im going to go ahead and assume your talking to me?
    I ended up in this thread in search of a functional Exchange ready mail client capable of supporting multiple mail profiles. Since there are no free applications to accomplish this in the app stor, which I can find, I figured I'd leverage the 'community' for some direction before throwing good money after bad.
   As I assume Im not the only one to do this, I figured I'd help straighten these folks out on the lingo (as they werne't applying it properly) and the sassy 'sound like apple users' comment references the way ANTI-apple folks assume you people are less than adequite users.
   If I called an apple an orange, you would say I was wrong. If I did it repeatedly, after correction, you would assume Im incompetant.
   Seriously, its a stupid machine and will only do what you tell it. (true for all computers, apple or otherwise)
   So if I ask for a mail client, dont give me a provider. If I ask for a service, dont name a client.
    Your right, this post is old. And stilll doesnt have an answer. . .
    In response to MichelPM, I didnt call your baby ugly. The 'Bandwagoning' is cute though. My advice is sound, and helping you folks not to look so... well... stupid.
    Since you interceded though, how about a little help? What mail client do you use? Is it exchange Compatible, with active sync? Does it offer multi-profile support? And the clients want images in their signatures, and multi signature support. (I can do this with my android phone )

Which suggests that you want to open the actual email client, rather than using java itself to send the email.
However it doesn't answer why.
At any rate that requires the following.
1. A platform specific way to run the email client. If you can't figure out how to do this from the command line (nothing to do with java) then you can't do it in java.
2. A way to manipulate an application that is running. The Robot package is intended for that. It might or might not do it. If not then you would need to find or create something else to do this.
3. Custom scripts for each possible email client which is fed into part 2 to make it do something.
Obviously a lot of work especially the last as that part might vary not only by vendor by also by version and user configuration.

Left-clicking on a text link in the Yahoo email client under FF10 does nothing.

Right-clicking and selecting "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new window" does work. Viewing the same email message in IE6 also works. I suspect the Yahoo mail client, since it has been doing a strange thing every now and then, but I do not remember this happening under FF9...

Trouble making my old rescue email address the primary email address.

I want to make my old rescue email address the new primary one. I erased the rescue email address and changed it to a different one. But, when I enter what used to be my rescue email address as the new primary address, it still says I can't use my rescue email as the primary. It acts like the old rescue email address is still in the system even tough it no longer shows on my profile. How do I get around this?

No need to wait a few days.
The ghost rescue mail in my case was found in the password and security settings. You still need to change it there.

Anyone use Hotmail/pop3 via the nokia email client...

Iv'e set up hotmail (pop3) on my nokia 6303 via the email client but whether i set it to retrieve "headers only" or "whole email" it always downloads the whole email if message size is under 600kb ish and only the headers if email is above that size regardless of the setting. I tried setting up hotmail on a nokia 6600 and it does the same thing so i think its a hotmail or pop3 issue? I have the latest firmware installed.
I set up my gmail account (imap4) on the phone too and only downloads headers as requested.
Really frustrating as data bill too high to use the email client at moment. Anyone set up hotmail successfully on their nokia?

Just go to messaging, then email, and click on that - it will ask you for your hotmail address and password and then click ok to automatically search for settings from the internet. thats it.
Once done go to messaging, click down to message settings, then email settings. You can chosse various settings here as you like, then go to edit mail boxes at the bottom and you can edit your hotmail - here you can choose if you wnat to download just headers or the whole email. this is what didnt work for me - even if i set it up for just the header, it downloads the whole email.

How do you change the Selected Email Client

I have created a form that submits XML data by email.
The first time you click the "Submit by Email" button, a dialogue box opens up and asks you to select one of 3 options: "Desktop Email Application", "Internet Email" or "Other".
The problem that is occurring is that people will either not read the statement or out of ignorance select "Desktop Email Application" when in fact they have internet based email. There is no apparent way to go back and reset this preference.
Does anyone know where this preference is stored and how to change it?
Alternatively, does anyone know how to generate the XML file by an alternate method that could be saved and then attached to an email?
This has been a major problem that has prevented the use of this form, any help would be greatly appreciated.

This setting is handled by your Operating System. On Winddows (Win7) you go to Control Panel->Programs->Default Programs->Set Default Programs. On OS X you set this using the preferences of you email client. For example launch Mail and go to Mail->Preferences->General. The first setting is for default email client.

Did a software update not too long ago, and was prompted to install the new Nokia messaging client on my E63. Its quite nice, a good improvement over the previous version, though viewing emails in HTML is pretty slow, hoping you guys might be able to speed that up. Overall, quite nice.

Hi there, I have updated my E5-00 to the last version of email client, but I have lot of issues with it. The client has problems to load images. It is not possible to load email address through contacts. I have to manually type the address. I have tried the hard reset but it didn`t help. The biggest problem is that it is not possible to uninstall the client. I DON`T recommend to upgrade. My frients have the same problem.

Hi James -
That is the default behavior of browsers when handling the mailto link.
Please keep in mind that nearly half of website visitors do not have an email client as they are using mobile devices or public computers or web-based email like Gmail, MSN mail etc.
Please don't feed the spambots. Best practice is to use an HTML "form" in conjunction with a server-side forms processing script. Ask your hosting provider if they provide one for you.

I want thunderbird to run in the background when i call the default email client

I have software that sends emails out for reports. The software calls the default mail client (Thunderbird) and sends the email. However this opens Thunderbird and gets in the way. Is there anyway that this could send the email without opening Thunderbird? Can it run in the background like outlook express? It needs to close after email is sent.
