Does DHCP come into play with IP ADDRESS POOLS?

Are these a type of round-robin DHCP lease and not timed? I cannot find anything about lease times for IP ADDRESS POOLS addresses.

An IP ADDRESS POOL is used to assign an inside address to VPN clients. It's like DHCP in that respect only. Alternatively, one can setup the group to query an internal DHCP server for the full set of DHCP services. Please refer to this document for a detailed explanation.
Hope this helps.

  • When does the SD speed rating/class come into play?

    Let's say now that I've recorded a video on a class 10 chip, throw it in my computer and for whatever reason have put it on a class 2(or 4, 6, etc) chip to transfer somewhere else. Okay now at the moment where I put that video on the lower class chip did I lose any quality?
    Can anyone breakdown why these speed ratings/classes are important?
    Thanks for the time and help guys.

    Class 10 is unnecessary for AVCHD video including 1080/50p.
    Panasonic recommend using Class 4.
    I believe the situation is something like that pertaining to the old Mini-DV tapes.
    You could buy standard tapes or Pro tapes, the latter being far more expensive.
    The inference was that the tapes were formulated differently.
    In actual fact both tapes were the same!
    So why the difference in name and price?
    Well all tapes suffer from occasional dropouts and manufacturers test samples from their batches.
    If the samples from one batch shows normal amounts of dropouts, they class that as a standard quality tape.
    If the samples show less dropouts than normal, the whole batch is classed as Pro quality.
    However, it's quite possible that the samples tested were not representative of the whole batch and you could end up paying Pro prices for standard quality.
    I believe the situation is the same with SD card speeds.
    The Class 10 are supposedly guaranteed to achieve those speeds.
    The rest are just as fast but are not guaranteed.
    In any case, as I said at the beginning, if you are using an AVCHD camera, Class4 is more than good enough.
    Don't waste money on Class 10.

  • HT202360 Why does email forwarding not work with external addresses?

    I have tried to setup an internal email account which is meant to forward emails to an external account.
    Under the account's mail options i have set "Mail should be: " to Forwarded and typed in the email address underneath. However, both with an external domain and the me.com domain it does not send the email. If i send an email directly from the accounts using my IMAP account the server has no problems sending the emails to the addresses.
    The results of running sudo serveradmin command mail:command = getAutoForward is:
    mail:<<id1>>:fwdAddress = "[email protected]"
    mail:<<id2>>:fwdAddress = "[email protected]"
    mail:<<id3>>:fwdAddress = "[email protected]"
    Is there sometime i'm missing?

    I have also tried adding a new email account with the [email protected] to see if it was the original account that was the problem, but the new email account doesn't send the emails on either.

  • CR2s come into Lightroom with pink & purple color block distortion

    Hopefully I am not posting after someone has already determined an answer, but I did not see one.  Unlike what is happening in this discussion (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/356898), my cr2 is coming up distorted on only one of my computers running Lightroom 3.  When opening the cr2 on the same computer in both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop cs5, it comes out looking like this:
    However, opening the same image on any of the other computers I have running Lightroom 3 and Photoshop cs5, the images turns out as it should:
    All of these images were transfered from the cf card onto one computer (not the computer that is having the issue), and brought over to the other 3 computers over our server.  Only 1 of the 3 is having issues.  All of the computers have been updated with Camera Raw 6.1 and the image was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon EF 16-35mm lens.
    If anyone has an answer to this problem, I would greately appreciate a response.  This problem, unfortunately, is slowing down my progress.
    Thank you

    So I did a memory test and yes, at least one of the memory sticks is not functioning properly...so thanks for that.  I appreciate it.
    While I am waiting for replacement memory sticks, I am still trying to work through on that computer, as not all the files are color corrupted.  The odd thing though is that I wasn't having this problem when running LR 2.7...so I downgraded that computer back to it...and the same images that had color corruption are fixed...no problems.  The files were transfered from my server to the desktop and then imported into LR...so the files imported into LR 3 are from the same folder on the desktop that were imported into LR 2.7.  And this is still with all the memory sticks (including the one that is not functioning).
    When I get the new memory sticks I'll see if the files are still distorted on LR 3 (after doing a memory test on those sticks too).
    Thanks.

  • ItemSelected does not come on TileList with custom IR

    Hi everybody,
    I've got a strange problem - TileList with custom ItemRenderer (IR) which consists of HBox and a Flash component sometimes is missing the mouse clicks.
    The problem appears only with custom IR. I traced the mouse events -
    "click" on IR
    and "itemSelected" on TileList.
    I already tried to set mouseEnabled=false on IR, to prevent it getting any mouse input, but it did not make any difference.
    This behaviour is not 100% replicable, it comes & goes and I think that it does not depend on the click area on the IR.
    PS ItemRenderer changes it's shape on mouseOver/Out ts, so I can see that when I click, IR at least gets mouseOver event.
    Any ideas what could cause the disappearing of events or blocking  it from bubbling to TileList?
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Dmitri.

    You're sure that changing the shape of the item renderer isn't what's causing the confusion?
    If you disable the shape changing does the behavior correct itself?  I don't use IRs extensively but changing the shape sounds like it might be uncharted territory (i.e. unsupported/untested, may not work at all) however I could be wrong.

  • Log into Disco with email address

    Hi, I have database users that use their email address to log into the application.
    They cant do this to log into Discoverer - Ho do you get around this?
    Thanks

    If you're trying to connect into Discoverer, then you have either an 'Apps' EUL or a 'standard' EUL. Apps interfaces to Oracle Apps (Enterprise Suite). If an 'Apps' EUL the usernames would have to be allowed as Oracle Apps usernames. If allowed, then would probably be okay in Disco as it just considers the username as an Oracle Apps username.
    If a 'standard' EUL, then the users are database names (ie: schemas) and again, would have to be a legal database username to work.
    The '@' would be something I'd wonder about right away.

  • Before iCloud comes into play - homesharing help plz

    - with 2 maclaptops and 1 Imac plus Ipad, 2 itouches - I hate having to keep my main library on one computer - even with home sharing - it still wants to erase and re-sync my itouch if I hook it up to my macbook pro it wants to erase and re-sync it all.  So I even use the “dropbox” app (not the one with the Mac and have 100G of  memory for all my pics, music and all my documents so now I save my Itunes folder to drop box regardless of the device.
    Is there anyway to get around having to connect my device whether it be my Iphone, ipad, itocuh or my kids’ devices to their own computers with the homesharing and not have to erase the entire device and then hope the re-sync has it all?
    My understanding of Icloud is that updates to any of the devices will automatically just get pushed to all the devices connected to the cloud so this won’t be as big of an issue.
    I appreciate your help:
    Devices:
    4 Itouch 4 − 3 for teens 1 for me
    1 Iphone 4 - me, 3 Iphone 3Gs for kids
    Mac Book Pro - me

    2 Dell laptops - 2 of my teens
    27” 2010 build iMac computer
    21” 2008 build iMac

    Each library contains a (theoretically) unique ID so when you hook up your devices to a different computer iTunes "knows" that it is a different library and wants to wipe it and start over. I clone my library to a small portable hard drive which I sync to my computers at home and at work. Because each copy has the same ID I can sync my devices with either library without any problems. My son has an edited version of the database on his computer, pointed at the same set of files shared over the network which again means we can update his device on any of the computers, fine as long as you don't require absolutely acurate playcounts.

  • Does ipod come pre-loaded with songs?

    I just got a new ipod today, and see that if I go through the music menu, that there appears to be a bunch of songs there. Were these songs pre-loaded that we get? I did not put any music on my ipod yet, so it isn't anything I put it.
    Some of the groups are: Canyon, Chuck Prophet....

    "Everytime I synch my ipod, it loads the same 17 songs that are from the itunes homepage. It appears Apple puts in the playlist automatically for free?"
    If that were the case it would happen to everyone wouldn't it and I've never heard of this before? It doesn't load anything else? Are these songs in your iTunes?
    I just don't see how the iPod can load songs from your iTunes library if they are not stored there.
    Restore it as previously suggested.

  • MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II - Heat sink and chipset heat sink come into contact

    Pretty much what the title says. There is a small heat sink on my GTX 560 which comes into contact with one of the motherboard's heat sinks. The card slipped right in PCI slot without any problems and is working.
    However, I'm concerned about heat transfer. Could the card heat up the motherboard's heat sink or the other way around?
    This is the small card's heat sink.
    Top view.
    Closeup. I guess the surface that makes contact is not so much.
    PS: I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photos.

     Contact MSI tech support about that issue and see what they have to say about it. You are the 2nd on this forum to ask about it and the only thing I can suggest is trimming the heat sink on the MB or video card but doing so to either one could possibly void the warranty.

  • Load Balacing on VPN3000 with non-local address pools

    Is it possible to load balance when the VPN3000 does not have an interface in the address pools, i.e. using "non-local" address pools as the documentation puts it? I know this works without clustering by setting static routes to the pool on the nearest router. But in a clustering setup it seems to me there is no way to assign a static route since there is no way to pre-determine which cluster member the client will connect to (an additional virtual address on the private network would solve this but I suppose it's too late to hope for new features!)

  • Issues with JDBC Connection Pooling

    Hi all,
    I'm experiencing some unexpected behaviour when trying to use JDBC Connection Pooling with my BC4J applications.
    The configuraiton is -
    Web Application using BC4J in local mode
    Using Default Connection Stagegy
    Stateless Release Mode
    Retrieving Application Modules using Configuration.createRootApplicationModule( am , cf );
    Returning Application Modules using Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule( am, false );
    Three application modules
    AppModuleA - connects to DatabaseConnection1
    AppModuleB - connects to DatabaseConnection2
    AppModuleC - connects to DatabaseConnection2
    My requirement is to -
    Use App Module Pooling and have individual pool for each Application Module
    Use JDBC Pooling and have individual pool for each Database connection
    Note: All configuration was achieved in design mode (i.e. right clicking AppModule->Configurations...)
    1. Initial approach -
    In the configuration for each Application Module I specified the connection type as 'JDBC Datasource' and specified to approriate datasource.
    Tried setting doConnecitonPooling to 'true' as well as 'false'
    In the data-sources.xml I specified all the appropriate info including min-connections and max-connections.
    I would expect, with the above config that BC4J would use OC4J's built in JDBC connection pooling.
    2. Second approach -
    In the configuration for each Application Module I specified the connection type as JDBC URL.
    In the configuration I specified doConnectionPooling = 'true' as well as the max connection, max available and min available
    What I experienced in both cases was that the max connections seem to be ignored as the number of connection as reported by the database (v$session) was exceeded by more than 10.
    In addition to this once the load was removed the number of JDBC connecitons did not drop (I would have expected it to drop to max available connections)
    My questions are -
    1. When specifying to use a 'JDBC Datasource' style of connection, is it in fact OC4J that is then responsible for pooling JDBC connections? And in this case should BC4J's doConnectionPooling parameter be set to true or false?
    2. Are there any known issues with the use of the JDBC Conneciton Pool as stated by the above to approaches?

    Thanks for the additional info. Please see my comments. below.
    Sorry should have been more specififc -
    1. Is each application pool using a different JDBC user? You mentioned DatabaseConnection1 and DatabaseConnection2
    above; are these connections to different schemas / users? If so, BC4J will create a separate connection pool for each
    JDBC user. Each connection pool will have its own maximum pool size.
    Each 'DatabaseConnection' refers to a different database, actually hosted on a seperate physical server, different
    schema and different user.BC4J will maintain a separate connection pool for each permutation of JDBC URL / schema. If each user is connecting
    to a different DB instance then I would expect no greater than 10 DB sessions. However, if a DB instance is hosting
    more than user then I would expect greater than 10 DB sessions (though still no more than 10 DB sessions per user).
    2. Are all the v$session sessions related to the JDBC clients? There should be at least one additional database
    session which will be related to the session that is querying v$session.
    When querying the v$session table I specifically look for connections from the user in quesiton and from the machine
    name in question and in doing so eliminate the database system's connections, as well as the query tools'
    connection. One area I'm not sure about is the connection BC4J uses to write to its temporary tables. I am using
    Stateless release mode and have not explicetly stated to save to the database but I'm wondering if it still does if so
    and how does it come into the equation with max connections?BC4J's internal connections are also pooled and the limits apply as mentioned above. So, if you have specified
    internal connection info for a schema which is different than the users above I would expect the additional conns.
    One helpful diagnostic tool, albeit programmatic, might be to print the information about the connection pools after
    your test client(s) have finished. This may be accomplished as follows:
    // get a reference to the BC4J connection pool manager
    import oracle.jbo.server.ConnectionPoolManagerFactory;
    import oracle.jbo.server.ConnectionPoolManagerImpl;
    import oracle.jbo.pool.ResourcePool;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    // get the ConnectionPoolManager. assume that it is an instance of the supplied manager
    ConnectionPoolManagerImpl mgr = (ConnectionPoolManagerImpl)ConnectionPoolManagerFactory.getConnectionPoolManager();
    Enumeration keys = mgr.getResourcePoolKeys();
    PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(System.out, true);
    while (keys.hasMoreElements())
    Object key = keys.nextElement();
    ResourcePool pool = (ResourcePool)mgr.getResourcePool(key);
    System.out.println("Dumping pool statistics for pool: " + key);
    pool.dumpPoolStatistics(pw);
    }
