hi, I have question about disabling Filevault. Actually, two days back I was playing around with iCloud and accidentally activated 'Find my Mac' feature. Doing so, it restarted my machine and I was required to enter some four digit code upon the restart.
However I did not remember this code, and I ws completely locked out of my machine. Could not even get into the recovery mode. Everytime I restarted, I was prompted with the same screen to enter the password. So I had to take it to the Mac Center to get it done. They got my password unlocked and now I am logged in.
My concern here is that I need to de-activate this option. When I tried initiating the same, it gave me the prompt that my machine will restart for the decryption to take place. Now I am afraid if I would end up with the same problem that if my machine restarts and would be prompted for the password which I set up while setting up Encryption in the first place which I ofcourde do not remember.
Is there anyone here who has deactivated the Filevault in Mac OS 10.8 and can guide me through how it works.

If a password is set, you will be prompted every time the system is powered on. There is no option to only prompt if the drive has been removed.

I was wondering this too. Did you ever get an answer? I just bought a non-nike pair of sneakers and have a pod pouch now on my laces. I have it tight, at the lower part of the laces so its flat. When its on the left side my time is very similar to what it was when I used the nike shoes. When it is on the right side, my time is about 35sec/mile higher. I wonder which is more accurate and if you are supposed to have them on the same side. If so, then that is as accurate as with my nike shoes. Hope we get an answer soon. Im about to return everything its so frustrating.

In 10.8 How to change external disk's FileVault 2 encryption password?

Just migrated to 10.8 from 10.7. With Filevault, according to Apple, Time Machine external drive now needs to be encrypted. I did that. If, for some reason, I want to change the password on this disk, how do you do that? In a thread for 10.7, it was stated "File->Change Password". Assume that this is true in 10.8? Also, assume they are referring the pull down menu "File"? If so, I don't see it there! Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?? Thanks!

Launch the Disk Utility application, select the encrypted volume on the external drive, and then select
File > Change Password...
from the menu bar.

Facebook login does not add user and password to the account

PROBLEM
Facebook login button does not create user and password for login.
We wish we could ONLY use facebook login button to allow users the account creation on our campus.
So we disabled the user creation webform.
And only out facebook login buttons that students can only login to our campus using their fb account in the hope that they dont share it (hopefuly)
AND
This is a problem BECAUSE if I publish events and capture leads ALL those users have problems creating their user account latter.
CASE IS
1.- A person comes to my website and leaves a comment. This creates a register with their email and name.
2.- Days later this same user comes back and clicks a facebook user login/ account creatio.
2.1 The page now shows that user name as it comes from Facebook. BUT NO USER AND PASSWORD information added to that person's register in the CRM.
So
If some one leaves a comment, register to our mailing list FIRST
and SECOND tries to create his account afterward. IT DOESNT WORK
Any ideas?

VM Role Authoring Tool - Disable AdminCredential username and password in the UI and provide hardcoded value

I am want to keep AdminCredential as a parameter in VM Role Authoring Tool but I do not want user to be able to able to provide the password. As an Enterprise, we have a password policy that we use for Admin Password. The reason i want to keep it as an parameter
is because if we ever decide to change the policy, i do not have to go back and change it at 100 places it was used. I just change the parameter value and it gets applied everywhere.
This is what i have tried so far:
I added the AdminCredential parameter in the separate category. I made
Configurable to No and provided DefaultValue
in the format Administrator:Password1 in the parameter and imported the definition in the Admin Portal. Now Administrator:Password1 shows up in the username field and password is still editable.
In short, if possible, i do not want users to see the AdminCredential parameter. If i cannot hide the parameter, i want to disable username and password fields and provide hard coded value for it.
Is there a way to achieve what i am trying to do?

The assumption with Azure Pack is that the OS is Server and the OS has been generalized.
Now, in the Azure Pack world this local admin credential is actually a special credential. You cannot take it away, but you can set a default value in the designer.
If a default value is set, you may be able to hide it from the view definition (I am not sure, since this is a special parameter), but you cannot remove the parameter from the resource itself.
And a credential in Azure Pack gets interpreted to a username plus password string.
I have added secondary accounts that capture a password string and a username (as strings, not credentials). But again, I am not positive that this is allowed.
Sorry for not having a straight answer, maybe someone will jump in with a better one.

How can I set the Reminders app so that it does not shown my AppleID password as the header for my lists on my desktop or laptop screen?!?

My Reminders app which I sync with iPad shows my AppleID password as a heading for my lists when I have it open on my screen of my laptop or desktop. The iPad does not reveal the password the same way. Desktop is not so worrisome, but I don't understand why this would happen and is especially weird if I have the app open in public on my laptop. Is this a default? What do I do to make sure the list does not show by password? I understand that sharing the Reminders via the iCloud may cause a need to show what Reminder lists are being shared between a device and laptop, but why not a user name instead of the PASSWORD!!!?

Does Crystal Reports need to be on the web server?

here's my scenario. someone who left us moved a .Net web application from server 1 to server 2 and didn't leave us notes of what he did. The report came up on server 2 fine but was not getting the right data so we changed the datasource to get the data correctly. Now we deployed the fixed version on server 2 and refreshed the web server. Now we see the correct results BUT the Business Objects icons (e.g. BO image, print icon, forward and back icon) are all "X" meaning that they could not be found.
We took a look at server 1 and it had the full version of Crystal Reports installed on it. On server 2 it looked like the DLLs were dumped into the GAC and that's all.
We're a bit perplexed by why it was working on server 2 with all the Business Objects icons even though Crystal Reports was not installed on it until we restarted the server with the fixed code. We were thinking maybe it's some sort of caching?? I've never seen this before so I'm a bit perplexed.
Any ideas on why this happened?

You're essentially saying something like;

Sorry to say, but it ain't happening...
The only way to get a project that includes CR to work is to deploy the CR runtime. Either via MSI file where a simple double click will install the runtime and configure the viewer directory under the default app pool, or via a setup project you build using the CR MSM files. Again the files will be installed and the viewer directory configured under the default app pool. If your app is under a custom app pool, you need to configure the viewer folder under that pool as the install has no idea about non default app pools. Does disabling icloud on one account impact the other, if on the same computer?

I am experiencing problems in synchronizing Plaxo across two of my accounts on the same iMac. When try to disable iCoud calendar and/or contacts, I get the prompt about deleting it will delete it from the computer. I only want to delete them from one of my 2 accounts on the same Mac. Can I do that?
If so, I'll then reenable iCloud and Plaxo, which will then rebuild both my Calendar and Contacts on the 1 particular account on my Mac.

Sorry, I know nothing about Plaxo. However if you log out of iCloud on one user account the other user account will be unaffected.

I'm no expert but I'm wondering if her device is still somehow logged into your account? From settings go to iCloud and then to account, and it shows the user id. Is it hers, or yours?
