Does Discoverer 10g Plus allow uploading of reports from local drives?

Does Discoverer 10g Plus allow uploading of reports from local drives? Or like 4i is this only possible from Desktop Client?

No, you can't bring in Disco workbooks from a local drive with 10g Plus.
Only from the database and/or scheduled workbooks.

Hi - I have a requirement to run the report saved in windows network drive from FORMS 9i which is installed on AIX. looking forward for your help.
Requirement:
Forms application is invoked through the APPS server installed on AIX.
Report code RDF, REP is saved in Windows drive.

This is not possible. Forms/Reports 9i is web based, so the forms and reports need to be on the app server. You cannot run a report on a local drive (I assume you mean your own PC). Why don't you copy the report to the server?
You can try to map a directory on the AIX server to a shared Windows directory and put this directory in the reports_path variable.
However, you cannot run a Windows compiled REP file on an AIX server, so you need to save the RDF only.

can you tell me if there is a way to get the login form of Discoverer 10g Plus/Viewer to remember the last login credentials (except password) like the Desktop version do? Have I missed a setting in preferences file or AS Control?
OK I can create an own HTML page which looks exactly the same as the login page and saves the values in a cookie but time is money and I think this feature should be solved by Oracle itself.

Thank you for the prompt reply, however I have a few question to seek for your advise as below:
a)I would like to know does SAP system have any standard report which have the information of 3 way matching report from PO up to payment in AP module?
b) I have find one report using T-code:FBl1N (vendor line item) is able to display the report with information of invoice,payment and there is one field purchasing document in the report however this field do not have any po number refer to the invoice.
I would like to know what the field purchasing document mean for (i.e what are the information capture on the column purchasing document)?

what I am doing is I am giving an option to the user that he/she can browse the file and then select any file and finally it's action is post in the jsp form for which I have sent the code
All the computers are connected in LAN
So how to upload a file from client's machine to server's machine

Discoverer 10G Plus Questions

We're in the process of upgrading from Discoverer 4 (APPS EUL) to 10G. We're doing away with the Desktop client. Most users will be given access to Discoverer Viewer and other users will be given access to Plus. We have recently upgraded or DEV instance and there are a few "questions" (i.e. gripes) that users have come back to me with:
1) Do all reports have to be stored on the database to allow them to be accessed by Plus or Viewer? Can only the 10G client version open files from a local hardrive or shared network drive?
2) Can only one report be open at any given time with Plus or Viewer? In client it is possible to have 2 reports open at the same time to facilitate easier comparisons.
3) NULL values are still showing the word "NULL" even though in Tools Options we have set it to show blank, existing reports are still using the NULL value.
I'd very much appreciate feedback on any of the 3 points above.

Its a good idea to upgrade from 4i to 10g 4i is no more used by many and their are some issues or bugs with it.The latest version is 11g which has been released 1 week back.If not go with 10g version available.

Hello,
I am using jdev 11.1.2.4.0...
The requirement is that users would like to upload images from their local drive to server drive and they would like display images from server drive later.
We don't want to keep images in database. I am not sure what the solution should be; however, I plan to ....
1. create a table to keep an information of images -- image_id, image_location (server drive), image_filename
2. create a page where users can enter image information and specific filename from a local drive (I think I will use inputFile component) and provide the preview button to display an image on screen before save it. To save data is to save information to the database and copy an image file to the server drive (the destination location for image files is predefined.)
3. create another page where users can browse information from the database and display an image for a selected record by getting from the server.
I need suggestions on...
1. how to display an image on page from the local drive?
2. how to copy a file from a local drive to a server?
3. how to display an image on page from the server drive?

Where Timo saves images to the database, you save it to the file system (examples on how to do this from Java are available plenty if you just Google for it). Similar to Timo you then use the image tag to display images. The difference is that you can directly add the URL from the database table.
The benefit of using a database to host images is that you are not dependent on file server structures though

Why does discoverer restrict the folders i can select from?

I select some attributes from one folder, then afterwards go to another folder and i want to add some more attributes to my selection. but i cannot because the folder's are gray and disco doesn't let me access them.
why?

Hi,
Your problem it's that you don't have joins defined between the two folders.
Discoverer automatically disables the selection of folders that don't have joins with the folder you select.
You have two options to solve that problem:
1.- Define joins between the folders you want to select from. That is , if there's a way two join the two folders.
2.- Define joins between the two folders an a third folder that has something in common with the others. Here you have to be carefull in chosing a folder that have the info needed for the query and that doesn't generate duplicate results.

Does the app install allow you to erase your hard drive?

Looking to completely erase my harddrive.
Typically installing OSX from a disk gives you the option to transfer files or erase.
Does the app install do the same, given that there is no alternate startup disk?

I have never gotten involved with the Video Press plugin on a WordPress site.
Assuming the following is what you are trying to work with

What are the properties of your .mp4 Premiere Elements 11 file that I assume you have saved to the computer hard drive
for upload to the web site from there.
Have you seen the following and gone through all the recommended steps for the video upload?

I have lost my iBooks and iTunes and iBooks does not load plus I cannot download anything from my app icon.does anyone know what the problem is.

I cannot use iTunes or iBooks and my iBooks library is blank although I have purchased books in the past. Also I cannot download anything from my app icon. Has anyone experienced this and if so how do I correct.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Resize image from local drive and upload to server

Hi there
I want to allow the user to chose an image from his local
hard drive.
The image should then be loaded into the Flex 2 application.
There I wanna show him infos about the image e.g. height and
width.
He should then be able to scale/resize the image and upload
it to the server.
I have no idea how to do that :-)
Any thoughts on that?

Well in short, you need a second language to support that,
e.g. PHP/ASP/CF.
First you'll have to build a GUi in which you can upload the
jpg, putting it to the server using php/asp/cf, then you'll need to
make a call to that image, (importing it into your flex), then
you'll have to set the parameters for the resizing, then you'll
have to call a php/asp/cf script which does te resizing
