Does Dreamweaver CS4 run on...

Hi,
It's just a really simple question - does Dreamweaver CS4 run of windows 7 64 bit, or at all all the adobe programs such as flash etc?
Thanks,
Josh

Does Dreamweaver run under Windows 7? No, not very well. Our experience
was that it's broken all over the place. File dialogs are not working correctly, images are not placed correctly and a whole bunch of other issues under Windows 7. Read through the forum here and you will see all kinds of problems. We've had to switch to Microsoft Expression Web because of all the issues. We can't wait another year for Adobe to release CS5 or simply fix all the issues. We're trying to run a business here. We prefer Windows 7 over the choice of keeping Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4. Couldn't deal with all the problems.
Good luck to you all.
Wow, 2 posts and all you do is complain?  Any business that has an IT department that employs a system-wide OS upgrade to a newly released OS without having the software tested or having backups made and forces the company to switch from one software suite to another costing the company needless time and money needs to have that IT department fired.
BTW, there are a few bugs with having to manually type paths, but Adobe has said they will patch the software for any bugs with the new operating systems ( Snow Leopard or Windows 7).  These things don't happen overnight either.  If you notice a bug the only way it will get fixed is to submit a request ( Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form ).  Otherwise if your company has the time and money to switch over like lillie then you can switch to another application.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 runs ok but fails to close correctly. Cannot run again until previous instance is killed.

I have a clean install of a recently purchased copy (10.0, build 4117) of Dreamweaver CS4 (twice now). I start DW and do absolutely nothing except exit. The program seems to close ok and all windows are closed. However, I cannot runb DW again, if I do , it just hangs during startup at some point before any windows are opened. A look at the task manager shows the previous instance of CS4 is still running. If I kill dreamweaver.exe then I can run CS4 again.
If I use DW then everything seems to work ok and all of the extentions I have purchase install and work fine too. I even imported a large NetObjects website and is was 100% correct (I was surprised).
I have removed AVG, I do not have an Acer, I have renamed the config folder and I am about to throw the towel in.
I have checked the registry and all is ok with the hives.
The system is: AMD Athlon X2 running XP-Pro SP3, 2GB Ram, 2 X 300GB HDD with plenty of free space, no internal firewall, AVG removed (after scan), ATI Graphics. I have never had Dreamwaever on this PC before and all extensions are now removed.
For any techies reading this I discovered that, after clsing DW, the task is still running with 17 threads. Slowly, at about one per minute, the number of threads drops to 12 but drops no further even if you leave is 24 hours.
The installation was fault free (both times!). The program loads ok and works ok. So, why does a fresh copy of DW  with no website created or any configuration changes of any form fail to shutdown correclty?
    Any ideas?

You've already tried the suggestions I normally make if there is a problem with running DW...  I really can't help you with your problem and as no-one else has submitted a reply generally there's no-one with an answer.
I can only suggest that you contactAdobe Support and outline what you just did in your post here...  hopefully they'll be able to sort this o9ut for you.

  • Will Dreamweaver CS4 run on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion?

I've been upgrading several software apps I have to bring them into compliance with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion before I upgrade the operating system itself.  I have the CS4 Master Collection, and it's about the last step before I'm totally brought up to date before "Lion-izing" my Mac.  Any chance that CS4 will run on Lion without too many hiccups?  The one "mission critical" element of the Creative Suite that I need every day is Dreamweaver, which I use each day to post deliverables to my website for client retrieval.
What can you tell me about CS4, and in particular, Dreamweaver CS4, relative to its ability (or inability) to run on Lion?
    Thanks.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS4 work with Lion?

Can anyone tell me if Dreamweaver CS4 will still work if I upgrade to Lion?
I tried to ask Adobe but was told by their support team that they would answer this question only if I bought 'bronze support' !
The telephone number they gave me to buy this support returned a ' number not recognised' response, which was a pity because I had intended to register my disgust at their mean response.
I run a website and do not want to risk problems if it will not work properly, so I should be very grateful if someone could answer this for me.

I own Dramweaver CS4 and just upgraded to Lion. When I tried to launch Dreamweaver, I got the error 150:30, "Licensing for this product has stopped working." Looking up the error on the Adobe support site, I discovered that Dreamweaver CS4 is apparently supposed to work, but that there is a problem with the licensing component. There is a knowledge base article on fixing this problem. However, I am frustrated because one of the steps is to download a license recovery application that has a PowerPC component that will not run. The other steps in the recovery procedure did not work for me, so I personally am stuck.

  • Does Dreamweaver cc run on 11" mac Air?

I am thinking of buying a Mac Air 11 or 13 inches. I will maintain one static Website ( about 4 releases a year).
    1. Does Dreamweaver run on Mac Air 11" (However, the minimum configuration on the support page says otherwise)?
    2.  How usable will this set up be?
    Thanks for all your help

I use an older(Early 2008 MacBook) 13" laptop as one of my devices and DW_CC runs Ok on it. In fact, it is not upgradable to the latest OS for the past two releases so I still run 10.7.5 and all works OK. I have a Mac Mini running 10.9 Maverick and so far have had no problems with it either.
To answer your question, my vote is, "yes" it will run DW_CC.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS4 work on Windows Server 2008 64-bit

Our company is upgrading its hardware platform. We have just purchased a new Dell PowerEdge T310 with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit edition. Does Dreamweaver and other products of the Web Premium suite work on this OS platform?

It's not listed on the system requirements page: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/systemreqs/.
That doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but it's not officially supported. You can always download the 30-day free trial and test it.

  • How does Dreamweaver CS4 work with CS3 Design Suite?

I am looking to purchase Dreamweaver on my computer however I currently have the CS3 versions of Photoshop and Illustrator installed on my computer. Will the DW CS4 version work if the rest of my Design Suite is CS3 or should I look to purchase CS3 if available?  Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dreamweaver 3 will open a file in Photoshop, so DW CS4 should do the same. I think you might have problems with Adobe's Bridge. And it's possible that DW CS4 might decide that previous versions of Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop or Illustrator are not supported. So workflows may be a little more disjointed.
So the real question will be: Do the advantages of DW CS4 outweigh possible hurdles in workflow?
I will frequently open and replace graphic images using Photoshop without Dreamweaver open and, when I open the website, everything falls into place. I did that for a number of color changes and I worked exclusively in Photoshop for the first part of my day, replacing colors that were designed to be part of the website with the client's specific pick. I tend to save graphics as .PSD files and then use Photoshop's Export to Web and in CS3, Photoshop will remember two different paths for a Save (PSD) and a Save to Web.

  • Does Dreamweaver MX run on Intel Processor?

Hi, on my old iBook, DW MX worked fine. I moved my files to a
Macintosh WorkBook Pro, a laptop with the new Intel processor. Now
Dreamweaver MX crashes when I try to connect to the server. I've
run the only upgrade patch on Adobe's website, can't think of what
else might help besides going to version 8. Any ideas?

    ran.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 for Mac error

Dreamweaver CS4 running on a Mac was working fine. Then one day I got 2 messages and the app will not run, it shutsdown. Does anyone know how to fix it? These are the messages I get and in the order I get them.
    This first one is:
    XML parsing fatal error: Invalid document structure,line: 1, file: /Users/mynameishere/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Designer.xml
    The second one is:
The following panel layout is missing or could not be read:
    Macintosh
    HD:Users:mynameishere:Library:Application Support:Adobe:Dreamweaver CS4:en_US:Configuration:Workspace:Designer.xml
The Application will not have correct layout. Please load one from Windows ->Workspace.
I click OK after both, then Dreamweaver unexpectedly quits. Any ideas how to fix?

Locate your personal configuration folder (instructions are here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494812). Either delete the folder or rename it to Configuration_old.
When you start Dreamweaver again, it should generate a new configuration folder with the default settings.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 crashes on startup

I have Dreamweaver CS4 running on Windows.  I am running it on a Mac with the Parallels program.  It was working fine for a long time and then started closing itself whenever I tried to open the program.
I have tried some of the things mentioned like changing the name of the configuration folder.  I have several files that are right around 8kb - 7.98 and 8.07...how close to 8 does it have to be for the 8kb bug?
Anything else I should try?  Screw it all and upgrade to CS5?  Dreamweaver still works on my crappy old laptop, but not on my much newer computer - very frustrating!
    Thanks,
    James

Actually it's not comparing old to new.  It's comparing a real environment vs a virtualized environment.  You can cross-grade from CS4 Windows to CS5 Mac but that is something you have to do directly through Adobe because they end up sending you a full version of CS5 Mac since the upgrade installer would not work.
It could be tied to the OS installation or it could be tied to Dreamweaver.  Hard to really say without knowing more about the error.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 - Dynamic Form Question

Hello you all.  I've been tasked with developing a form for my company that allows a user to add as many contacts into a form field as they like, i.e., they would enter a contact first and last name and then click on a "+" sign or button to add another name etc.  The "+" or Add button would shoot each name into a database and display it above the new blank field.
I am familiar with developing regular static forms but nothing dynamic like this.  I know explaining this to me from start to finish is out of the scope of this forum, but where do I start.  Does Dreamweaver CS4 have some type of widget or Java addon that will allow me to generate this type of field and then I can tackle the database setup at another time?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Have a look at the following, just copy and paste in a new document and test in a browser
    <!DOCTYPE HTML>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on - !!!!!!!!!!??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks

    Solved it.
    I went to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405604.html#KnownJS
    and followed these instructions>
    4. Delete FileCache.dat files from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder.
Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat, MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or FileCache.dat file from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder. It is recommended to delete the FileCache.dat file if you are experiencing a JavaScript error related to "dwscripts" or if you are receiving a "translators were not loaded" error message. The string of characters after "FileCache-" may differ on your machine. The location of the FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version of Dreamweaver. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders.
Note:  The language folder below is an abbreviation of the language you are currently using.  Typically there will only be one folder in this location.
    Windows XP
    \Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4 [or CS5]\[language]\Configuration
    Windows Vista/7
    \Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4 [or CS5]\[language]\Configuration
    Macintosh OS X
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4 [or CS5]/[language]/Configuration
I've gone back in to Dreamweaver and all seems well
    (fingers crossed)
