Does E5 support 32GB memory card?

Hello members,
I have Nokia E5 handset. I am planning to upgrade it's memory card now. As per Nokia my handset supports upto 32 GBs of card (MicroSD). Now i want to ask you people that can i really use 32GB crad in it or shall i buy 16 GBs card instead? I am asking this because some of the dealers at my place said not to use maximum-supported card in nokia as it can hang or freeze the mobile. So, is it true???
Also, since i can't get this card at my place i am planning to buy it from Ebay.in. I never used that site or any other site for shopping. So, is it safe and trustworthy or shall i get the card from any shop????
Please suggest me.
Thanks.

@optiontips
I use a 32GB microSDHC in my E72 a similar S60 3rd FP2 device without issue. Please bear in mind that there were a lot of counterfeit 32GB cards circulating upon auction sites when first released due to their (then) high value based on 2GB cards which reported erroneous capacity.

  • Camcorder video error: "Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."

We purchased two Samsung Droid Charges the first day they were released and recently they've both been getting this error after 8-15 seconds of recording in HD (1280x720): "Warning: Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."
Called Verizon tech support, but they referred me to Samsung. Not knowing much about micro SDHC cards, I was alarmed to discover that the factory pre-installed 32gb card is only rated class 2 for speed. Samsung told me you need a minimum of speed class 4 or higher to record at this resolution. The only problem is you need an SD card installed in order to use the camcorder, period. In other words, all of us who payed an arm and a leg for the best phone Verizon sells now have to go buy our own micro sd card that actually supports all of the phone features as advertised?! The lowest prices I've seen for the faster cards are $70. Are we the only two Charge owners experiencing this problem?  I've read somewhere that lower speed class cards may initially support faster speeds than they are rated until they accumulate more files, so the problem may go undetected for some time until you have more files that are stored in different locations on the card (making them difficult to access at the faster speeds). This may explain why are the first ones to get this error since we've had the phones the longest and only 50% free space remaining on the SD card. Oh, Samsung also said they won't be able to replace your card for one that has the proper speed rating. Kind of seems like false advertising to say a feature is available (HD camcorder), and then not mention the fact that the memory card provided isn't sufficient for that feature (separate upgrade required). Anyone else sharing the same frustrations? Ideas?

Thanks for the response. I've tried everything on that page. It's not an issue with the cable, or firewire port or the cable being connected properly, as the iSight camera works fine with iChat. I've disconnected the only other firewire device on the computer, didn't make any difference. Camera works fine in iChat, so it's not the camera itself. And, as I mentioned in the post, the same camera, if hooked up to my laptop, works just fine recording in QuickTime. So, it appears to be an issue with the QuickTime installation on this computer. I've done a search for the same error I'm getting and found some other occurrences with the same problems, but none that offered a solution.

  • IdeaPad K3 Lynx Supported flash memory card types?

Hi.  I just purchased a refurbished IdeaPad K3 Lynx and I want to snag a memory card for it before it gets here.  There is hardly any info on it online anymore and I needed to know if it can handle the newer 64GB SDXC memory chips?  Does anyone know if it can handle these?  Thanks.

Hello.  I've searched all over the forums for an answer to my question, but have been unsuccessful.  Can anyone help me please?!
Every now and then one of my notification icons (on the banner) will not disappear, even though I have read all possible messages, whether it be Facebook or Email.  This happened a while ago and I had found some instructions on the forums to register my Service Books.  This had fixed the problem, but now I'm having the problem again and am unable to send my Service Books.  I've tried a hard boot of the device (unsuccessful) and looked for wireless software updates (none found at this time).
When I get a new notification, it increases the number next to the icon.  When I read the new one, it decreases it back to the original number.  For example, it's currently showing that I have 3 Facebook notifications, but I don't.  If I get a new notification, in increments to 4.  When I read the new message, the number goes back down to 3.
How do I get rid of these "ghost" notifications/icons?
    Thanks.

  • Does the N96 support 32GB microSD card?

Can this phone support SDHC cards with >8GB of space?
If not do you know of a phone that does have large capacity (or upgradable) for music, and supports tethering in addiiton?

It can accept 16gb cards without any issues and in theory it should accept 32gb cards.
I'm sure we will find out for certain once 32gb cards become widely available to the consumers.

  • Does iOS support virtual memory and a swap file?

I'm getting conflicting reports on this one...

    From +Memory Usage Performance Guidelines+
Both Mac OS X and iOS include a fully-integrated virtual memory system that you cannot turn off; it is always on. Both system also provide up to 4 gigabytes of addressable space per 32-bit process. In addition, Mac OS X provides approximately 18 exabytes of addressable space for 64-bit processes. Even for computers that have 4 or more gigabytes of RAM available, the system rarely dedicates this much RAM to a single process.
To give processes access to their entire 4 gigabyte or 18 exabyte address space, Mac OS X uses the hard disk to hold data that is not currently in use. As memory gets full, sections of memory that are not being used are written to disk to make room for data that is needed now. The portion of the disk that stores the unused data is known as the backing store because it provides the backup storage for main memory.
Although Mac OS X supports a backing store, iOS does not. In iPhone applications, read-only data that is already on the disk (such as code pages) is simply removed from memory and reloaded from disk as needed. Writable data is never removed from memory by the operating system. Instead, if the amount of free memory drops below a certain threshold, the system asks the running applications to free up memory voluntarily to make room for new data. Applications that fail to free up enough memory are terminated.

  • Does Yosemite support Highpoint RAID cards?

Mac Pro, late 2010 12-core Westmere model with 24GB RAM.
Just updated to Yosemite. Discoverd the Highpoint RocketRAID card is no longer recognized and peripherals using eSATA are not mounting.
I don't recall whether it stated a driver was installed on previous versions of OS X, however I do know that the RAID card was supported natively at that time and attempting to add drivers resulted in the card not being recognized.
I've tried restarting, using a few RAID management tools from the vendors of peripherals I have, and updating the driver manually, and none have worked. Any suggestions?
Does it matter that the RAID controller is listed on 3 lines in the System Info, or is this just a glitch?
    The Vendor ID is 1103.

The model in my machine is the RocketRAID 644M. I've had no luck finding anything helpful online. From what I've seen this model should still be supported.
When I first installed the 644M, I tried to install drivers from the included disk and that prevented the card from working. The drivers are part of the system, if I recall correctly, so installing drivers ends up pointing the device to the wrong driver files.
I'm seeing this in the System Info Extensions pane:
    HighPointRR:
      Version: 4.3.3

I'm going to try backing up this kext above and then deleting it and maybe that will solve the problem.

    Hi,
My 2700 classic does not acknowledge the memory card any more. I tried with a friends memory card with no luck, though both my computer and his phone read my memory card.
I have turned phone off, removed and replaced the battery and also restored factory settings.
is there anything else I can try ?
    Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a problem with the card reader on the phone. You should have it checked out at your local Nokia Care Point.

  • I have an iMac with OS X Mavericks installed. Can this system recognise SDXC (camera) memory cards?

Does OS Mavericks support SDXC memory cards?

No iMac PPC can install Mac OS X 10.9.2.    PPC refers to Macs made prior to 2006 when it comes to iMacs.  I've asked your post be moved to the correct forum.
Apple's article on SDXC is a bit ambiguous regarding Mac OS X compatibility, but does say the following iMacs are compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 under Boot Camp:

  • Opteron's Supporting DDR400 Memory

Hey guys...Thought this little tidbit might shed some light on what memory you should be using. I recently bought some DDR400 REG memory from Corsair and thought it was causing all my system crashes so after I upgraded my powersupply to a 550 from a 430 I figured out that my vid card was at fault. My AMD rep verified this info so I think its pretty much gospel:
    http://www.anandtech.com/IT/showdoc.html?i=1935&p=2
Just recently, the x48 parts were launched, and with them, the Opteron gained support for DDR400 memory. Support for DDR400 has trickled down to all members of the Opteron family, but only certain revisions of the CPUs support DDR400. To tell whether or not a CPU has DDR400 support, you will have to look at the last two digits of its part number. If they are “AL”, “AK” or “AM”, then the CPU is a Rev C0 CPU and it supports DDR400. If the part number ends in “AH”, “AG” or “AI”, then the CPU is an older revision and does not support DDR400 memory.
I'm just glad my rev was AL

My opteron is a B3 (ends with AH) and runs DDR400 fine.

  • Nokia 5800 missing personal files on memory card

    Good day everyone!
I have a problem with my new nokia 5800. A month ago, i lost some of my pictures, which are saved in my memory card. I just ignore it thinking that somebody from my frends just deleted it. After a week, all of the videos, which i took, were all missing.. I was so **bleep** of. A while ago, an application that i downloaded from the net was also lost.. Im so frustrated about this.. Please kindly help me on this one.
Your response is highly appreciated. (n_n)

this seems to be a problem of a common virus as the 5800 is generally doing well except for some performance hogs.
@chan chan, there is absolutely no use when you use a PC antivirus to kill a 5800 symbian's virus. there are s60 antivirus out there, but i recommend you do a hard-reset of your phone by holding
"green" + "red" + "camera key"(full press) all simultaenously while powering on the device.do not leave the power key also till u see "NOKIA" on the screen.before doing this, remove the memory card from the phone and format it on the PC.after the phone starts factory-fresh, insert the formatted card.it should work fine now.also update to the latest v31 firmware.
remember to backup your contacts and other phone-memory data as hard reset wipes-clean all data, but do not use the "backup phone" option as it uses memory card.better sync contacts with other phone or PC
It's not always about KUDOS, but to make people happy with their Nokia. get the most of your Nokia. And be happy with what u get ......yet, please dont forget to press KUDOS if my post helped to solve your problem kudos=Rep++
