Does Elements 9 have a watercolor filter?

My dad wants some photo-editing software for Christmas, and the one requirement
he had for me was that the software most have a watercolor filter.  Is a watercolor filter available for Adobe
Photoshop Elements 9?
I'd actually prefer to get him Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, because that product seems to be more powerful.  Does anyone here know if Lightroom 3 has a watercolor filter as well?
Thanks!

Thanks so much!  That picture is really helpful. My dad mostly takes landscape pictures and the watercolor style he is looking for is washed out colors with weakly defined lines where each brush stroke blends into one another.
I think Adobe Elements is what I am looking for because I just found out that my dad wants something easy to use (like the sliders available in Elements) and he is willing to sarcifice flexibility and control for ease of use.

  • Does elements 10 have the perspective function in crop

Hi I have a client who is an artist and she needs some image editing software but does not have the funds for photoshop.  She can purchase elements 10 quite cheaply but the most handy tool for her will be the perspective function in crop but I am not sure whether it is a feature of elements 10.  Thanks

    Once again, thanks Ken !
I'll keep it, even though I have DxO which can give optimal results.
That said, the filter 'Correct lens distortion' (already present in PSE6) is simple and efficient, plus it includes a zoom level to crop (bottom slider).
Better than the 'Transform / perspective' adjustment I am used to.

  • Does scc sg04 have low pass filter?

Hi.. I am using SCC-SG04 for full bridge strain gauge with SC2345. I found the voltage output on oscilloscope with much noises when I directly measured from SCB 68 output which linked with SC2345.
High frequency noises was reduced a lot when I used simple passive RC low pass filter circuit. (cutoff freq is 1kHz) But there are still noises. Voltage excitation 2.5V and gauge resistor values are 120 ohms.
Therefore, I wish that is there any filter in SCC SG04? I found that  manual described it has 1.6kHz LP filter. Actually I am not sure what my cutoff freq should be and I think there should be less noise if SCC SG04 has LP filter. Am I right?
I would like to use DAQ in PC and I don't know which suitable hardware to use. I already have Labview 8.
    Please reply me.
    Thanks.
    Myo

    Hello myo,
First off, welcome to the NI forum.  To answer your question, yes there
is a 1.6kHz RC low pass filter on the SCC-SG04 module.  I am unsure why
you are getting noise when you measure the signal directly, however there are several possibilities.  The most likely of which is since the
device is not attached to a DAQ card (as it usually is), there may be
some grounding issues, the device may not be powered correctly, or some
other issue related to connecting the devices together.
The type of DAQ cards we usually reccomend for use with the SC 2345 are our E series or M series cards. You can use the SCC Advisor to help you choose as well. If you already have some HW, just choose what you have; It will be included in a quote, but you can use the advisor to see which HW works with the rest of your setup.  Some of these cards have hardware filters as well, and you may be able to do some filtering in software.
If you are looking to purchase a DAQ card for your computer, I suggest calling or emailing our sales department, especially if you want more information about the different cards we offer.

This issue comes up not infrequently and requires a bit of work so that it doesn't look fake. Your picture is made of two parts: Luminosity and color. The luminosity is by far the most important.. Try this:
Open the picture file after the faces have been swapped
Duplicate the background layer. Convert this background copy layer to black/white (e.g. via the Enhance menu)
On the background copy layer select the face that needs correction with one of the selection tools
Place the selected face on its own layer (CTRL+J)
The next step is to match the face layer with the b/w layer below. To do that, group a Brightness/contrast adjustment layer to the face layer, and play with the brightness and contrast sliders
Now, keep the face layer, and you can delete the desaturated (Background copy) layer
Open a blank layer at the top of the stack, and change the blending mode to color. Sample the skin color of the person whose skin color you are trying to match, then paint over the face which is on the layer from step #4
You may have to fine-tune by sampling color from other areas, or opening another brightness/contrast adjustment layer to fine-tune the luminosity

Depending on where you bought it you may be able to return it for a full refund within thirty days. Certainly if you got it from Adobe you can return it no reason required (within thirty days).
Not quite sure why you think it is shabby though. Surely you must have realised that there would be differences between a $700 product and a $100 one.

Does Photoshop Elements 13 have the pen tool and if so where is it?

I don't understand what you mean about the white line, but many tools in PSE are actually groups of tools. The blur tool shares a slot with the sharpen tool and the Smudge tool. Click hold on the one that's visible for a popout menu, or keep tapping the R key till the blur tool comes into view.

  • Does Premiere Elements 10 have to be permanently connected to Internet in order to work?*

Does Premiere Elements 10 have to be permanently connected to Internet in order to work?

As Steve points out, there are several modules in PrE, that need to be Activated, when first used. That Activation is usually totally seamless and transparent to the user. For those initial Activations, one does need to be connected to the Internet, but once all of those modules have been Activated, the only use for an Internet connection will be to Update the program, but that function can be done manually, by downloading any Updates with another computer, with an Internet connection, then just Copying that/those Update(s), Extracting any ZIP/7Z files, and installing them.
    Good luck,

  • Does Elements have the Photoshop Exposure adjustments for Gamma, Exposure and Offset, and where?  Is Gamma missing?

I have been a photoshop user since version 3, and am considering switching to Elements 13, as I am not a professional, but do this for home pictures.  I found that the Exposure Adjustments setting is fabulous, where I can adjust Gamma, Exposure and Offset, and the the Shadow and Highlight is also great.  Does Elements have an EXPOSURE (Gamma, Exposure and Offset) adjustment tool, or something close, and if not the same, how inferior?  Same Question for Shadow/Highlights.

As to saving edited items in ACR Edited formats or as a JPEG, unless I Open Image and save the file as a JPG, the edited RAW image is not a portable file, as only Photoshop or Elements will compile the edits from the embedded information. I do see that moving from RAW to Elements Normal mode, I can save the files and do other forms of editing, but I may have to give up a 16bit image for an 8 bit image to do any editing in normal Elements.
When you are using only the 'Done' button with a jpeg without opening and saving in the editor, you have written the settings to the metadata without altering the pixel values. In my own case, That's enough for 80% of my shots. That means: non-destructive editing (the original is still available), parametric editing, the settings are saved, can be used for the next picture and take minimal disk space. You don't need to keep a version set. On the other hand, only Adobe software can read it. Those edits in ACR are calculated in 16 bits even if jpeg is only 8 bits.
On the other hand, if you open the file in the editor, you have the choice to open the converted version in either 8 or 16 bits. Of course, if you want to save it in 16 bits, you'll save in psd or tiff.
What do you know about Photoshop's ImageReady.  It appears to offer simpler interfaces to normal Photoshop.
Sorry, I don't know anything abut ImageReady...
As to Elements, it appears that many of the more sophisticated image adjustments that exist in Photoshop are there, but in an 8 bit depth, buried in their different menus.
There are a lot of discussions about 8 or 16 bits depth in Elements. The main idea is that you can't use layers in 16 bits (except with a clunky workaround) and that you can't use local tools in 16 bits. On the other hand, nearly all global edits are available in 16 bits, including many filters and plugins. And with ACR, you can open jpegs in 16 bits... For me, even if I know that I can do nearly everything I need in 16 bits in the editor, I must say that first editing in ACR makes that unnecessary most of the time.
