Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that." -
Wife has an older MacBook Pro. when an app uses flash player "Blocked plugin" comes up. I don't know much about mac, tried to update flash player and get newer version already installed, and update and still get same message. How do I uninstall flash player and reinstall?
Sounds like it is blocked for the website you are at. Check with this:

I'm having problems when Firefox 5 uses Flash Player.
Whenever the browser uses Flash player ''(ex. Facebook games)'', my browser becomes so slow, that even opening a new tab takes time to load.
One more thing, whenever I watch videos from youtube, although the buffer is finish, the video is choppy.

It may be worth disabling firebug, and any other unnecessary extensions, also consider any other background tasks, for instance is the computer indexing drives, or doing other downloads or security scans.
Experiment with hardware acceleration on and off, in both firefox prefs, and FlashPlayer settings. Ensure any video drivers are up-to-date.
Do you need the multiple java consoles, and is there any possibility skype may slow things down ?
It may be worth considering a new separate profile just for flashplayer gaming. -
Black screen after using flash player 3 or 4 times

I've had this problem for a long time: After having played three or four videos using flash player for example, my screen turns completely black and I have to force a shut down of my PC. With how much flash is still used in browsers, this is extremely annoying and a waste of my time.

I updated my flash player and my graphic driver and the problem still occurs. I also turned of the hardware acceleration as stated in the following article: Video playback issues but it remains the same.
I registered this as a bug: Bug#3863932 - Video playback issues but I am uncertain whether this will actually be solved sooner there or here on the forums... So I've decided to try both.
Please help!

Message changed through Anna AdamYeah, that was always the problem: Hardly anyone CAN reproduce it. I've checked my hardware and drivers though and I've re-installed windows completely just because of this bug, thinking it might be some virus or sth, but nothing like that helped.
And so far, I couldn't find any steps to reproduce, or anyone who also has this problem.
I had my brother, who has a masters degree in computer sciences, try it out and he didn't know any solution or any reason either. :I You can just tell me if this is hopeless, I won't be mad, but really, a video would just show you exactly what I told you.

Also, it doesn't happen with specific youtube videos. I tried mixing up the order of the videos and it happened again, after starting the 3rd or 4th video (also happens when facebook had this automatically-starting-videos-thing, which was especially fun, as you can imagine, so it's not website-specific either, sadly).. -
Memory leak found in flash player active-x 'CallFunction' method.

I think I found a memory leak that results from calling the flash player active-X object's method 'CallFunction'. Each time this method is called it seems that memory is not properly freed.
I'm attaching here a simple program I've made with C# that uses the shockwave flash object to load a SWF and continuously perform calls to it using the 'CallFunction'. It also displays the process memory so you can see how it's being increased after some time running.
In the zip file, under the bin/release directory, you'll find the compiled executable and both the test SWF (CallFunctionTest.swf) and its source (AS3 file) which is just a dummy Sprite that exposes a callable method using the ExternalInterface. The SWF has been compiled using Flex compiler (Version 3.3.0 build 4852).
The leak may become more visible after some hours running. Also, it's interesting to note that even by reloading the SWF without closing the application (by stopping and restarting the stress in my test application) the memory is not freed.
As a reference, in my computer (Intel Dual core E2180 @ 2Ghz) the test application's virtual memory (VM64) increased from 192MB to 480MB in 4 hours. In Windows XP 32-bit when this value reaches 2GB the process runs out of memory and the application crashes.
Does anyone experienced the same problem?

I found this problem recently.
I embedded Flash in my Visual C++ project through ActiveX, and intensively call
ShockwaveFlashObjects::IShockwaveFlash::CallFunction().
It seems that every time I invoke this function, the memory usage of my program increase about 8kB, and never goes back again. I think this is caused by the internal memory leak in Flash.
Does adobe have any plan to fix this issue?

I'm streaming video using Flash Player 6. The problem I am
having is that the video will only play at a super small size,
something like 180 x 60 (that's a guess). Is there a way to play
the video at the 320 width that I redered it as?
I'm using Flash Player 6 because some code that came with my
purchased Flash Template does not work unless it's published to
Flash Plaey 6.

Video Pixelation occurs while recording the video using flash player
Hello,
I am recording the video using flash player 9 ( using the
flash media server 2.0 on the back end). Everything used to work
fine in the past. The quality of the flv video was good. Now
suddently, I have started seeing the pixelation in the recorded
video (very poor video quality). Nothing has been changed in the
code. However on the server side, I am not very sure if there is
any windows update has taken place and have caused the problem with
the codec on server.
However my understanding is that when we record the video
then flash player use its own codec not the flash media server.
Can any one help me on how I can get rid of pixelation
issues?

Does allowing adobe flash player plug in on safari give access to websites the ability to upload and transfer documents and files(on the computer) without permission? Perhaps to their online server or somewhere where they designated them to transfer to?
It depends a bit on which version of Captivate you used to develop your modules and also which version of Flash Player you targeted when publishing your modules from Captivate. Say for example you use Captivate 5 and publish to Flash Player 10. Then your end user would need to have Flash Player 10 on their computer. It shouldn't matter if their version is 10.0.0 or 10.1.0 or 10.1.3 - just as long as it's a 10. If they only have Flash Player 9 then they will need to upgrade.
The "Access to Adobe.com is restricted" is most likely because the HTML that launches the Captivate SWF sees that you have targeted FP10 and the user only have FP9. Then it tries to direct a call to Adobe in order to present an "Upgrade to latest version of Flash" dialog for the user. This traffic is most likely denied by your IT department.
The first step is to find out which version of Flash Player is the most prevalent in your organization. If it is Flash Player 9 then simply select that when publishing from Captivate 5. If Flash Player 8 is the most used in your organization and you have CP5 or CP5.5 then you are in big trouble since FP8 is not supported from CP5 and CP5.5.

No question, just a remark to say how upset I am that Apple still does not have flash player on iPad or iPod touch. Still upset not to be able to view my family's video on my iPad! Upset customer!

How to install and use Flash Player with Windows 7 64-bit edition and Internet Explorer 8.
1. Click the Start button.
2. Search for Internet Explorer.

Safari quit unexpectedly while using Flash Player - 10.6 plugin. Help?!?!
Safari keeps qutting unexpectedly everytime I open certain websites. I get the message "Safari quit unexpectedly while using Flash Player - 10.6 plugin." Recently, when I downloaded the new Flash Player, I can only use flash player in one tab at a time. This is only in firefox. I'll open youtube, and the visual and sound both play perfectly. I open up a new tab, begin using a flash website in that tab, and the youtube sound is quiet, only the visual continues to play. I need to multitask with flash sometimes, and this is a big problem for me. Help!
By default, Flash 11.3 and higher will spin up a lot of distinct processes. You should be able to get quite a cacophony going.
Have you ever done any troubleshooting that involves changing how Firefox works with plugin-container.exe or the Flash player's protected mode?
Often it is helpful to disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash:
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Unrelated, but you can remove the Java Console extensions unless you are a Java developer (and even then, you probably don't need the old ones):

High cpu usage when using flash player
Hi,
Just updated to Mavericks and now I'm having very high cpu usage while watching streams using flash player. CPU usage is somewhere around 110% and after a moment the stream starts to lag and fps is slowing down. I also tried using Chrome but with no difference. Flash player is the newest version 11.9.900.117.
Any ideas on how to fix this?i think its the best to hit the report a problem button in safari, since its appears since i updated safari to 5.1.4! maybe they make a additional update
