Does fans in macbook pro 13 schoudl still run 2000 rpm?

Hi i have problem with my macbook pro 13' when it gets high temperature around 95 c fans are still runing at 2000 rpm schoudl they do that or rise

You don't want to use a fan control app because they override the sensors in your MBP.
At 90ºC, I would think that the fans should be running at a far greater speed than 2000rpms. Mine can rev up to around 3000-4000rpms when the machine is really being overtaxed.
I would still recommend taking your machine into an Apple Store or an AASP and having it checked out. If your fans aren't working correctly you could be headed for a thermal shutdown.

imported old computer via time machine into new 2012 macbook pro, but its still running ilife 09 instead of 11?

I am assuming you had iLife 09 on the old computer - when you moved everything over, that came along with it.
I also have older versions of iLife (on install disks) and just recently got a new 2012 Macbook Pro. I noticed that iMovie 11, iPhoto and Garageband (I think) are listed in my Mac App Store Purchases with a notation to "accept". So you might want to check MAS to see if the apps are sitting there.
Now, I have chosen not to accept them for now for two reasons: I have iLife 11 on a disk and prefer that rather than having it tied to MAS/Apple ID and as long as I have my disk version installed, I also still have iDVD which I use a lot. I'm not sure if "accepting" those three from MAS would wipe out my iLife 11 installs including iDVD (which would be unacceptable for me). So, since I already have the latest version, I've opted to ignore the "accept" and, in fact, will leave it like that - if I ever sell this machine, the buyer can then accept them if they want with their own Apple ID. So before accepting the apps (if they are listed in MAS), you might want to check to make sure that your iLife install isn't wiped out - that is, if you have iDVD and want to keep it.

• How can I tell if my fan on MacBook Pro is working properly?  It seems to be running often and the laptop feels hot!

How can I tell if my fan on MacBook Pro is working properly?  It seems to be running often and the laptop feels hot!

Isn't it awesome that after you spend 2500$ + on a laptop you need to also become a computer technician in order to keep it working. The fan in my MacBook Pro runs all the time and the computer is also very hot all the time. I always try to make sure it's not sitting on a flat surface that might make it run hotter. I'm running 10.6.8. Is there anything I can do to fix this? When should the fan be running? Should it run when I have more than one program running at a time? Is the MacBook Pro designed to only run one program at time? At the moment I'm watching a show via Firefox. There are no other programs running, the computer is raised off the table, the fan is running at about half the speed it usually does, moments ago the fan was going full bore. Google Browser was open, iTunes was open, text edit was open, but none of them being used - I was using Firefox and watching a movie online with browser window on fullscreen. Anyone got any suggestions? Should I just enroll into a university and begin my studies as computer technician?

• Does keeping a macbook pro plugged in even when fully charged damage the battery in any way?

Does keeping a macbook pro plugged in even when fully charged damage the battery?

no it will not, your battery stops charging when it reaches 100%.  you can verify this if you'd like to through system report - power.
once in a while however, it's best to use it under it's own power and charge it back up once it's down to 75% to keep the battery in optimal condition.

• SOLUTION:  DOES MY 2011 MACBOOK PRO HAVE 3G OR 6G IN OPTICAL BAY FOR SSD? *ANSWER*

Hey guys, I just wanted to share the love and tell you I've finally spoken with Apple tech support (had to go through a handful of them to find the answer).. I have a Late 2011 MacBook Pro (8,2) (MacBookPro8,2), which was *PURCHASED ON APRIL 4, 2012* and wanted to upgrade both the main HD and the optical bay/SuperDrive with Dual SSD's.. but saw so much conflicting info. on the internet about how some 2011 MacBook Pros only have 3G capabilities for the optical drive, where others (released later on) had 6G drive capabilities in BOTH the main drive and optical drive bay..
so now I'm probably sure you're asking yourself...
WHICH CONNECTOR DOES MY MACBOOK PRO SUPPORT FOR A 2ND SSD IN THE OPTICAL DRIVE/SUPERDRIVE BAY?
3G (SATA-II) OR 6G (SATA-III)
I literally had to call Apple a half a dozen times, spoke to 2 different managers, and then eventually got them to spill the beans.. The thing with Apple is that they beat around the bush big time when it comes to things like you personally replacing/upgrading components.. As soon as you bring up the connector for the optical bay, they start asking questions.. It eventually took me to 5th call to end up speaking with some chill dude who was able to pull up my "About My Mac" and interpret if I were part of the 2011-MacBook Pro releases which had the (6G main + 3G optical) or the group that had the (6G main + 6G optical).. Literally tried everywhere on the internet, but SO HAPPY to finally have a solid answer from Apple themselves..
My specific MacBook Pro Model:
MacBook Pro (8,2) - Late 2011 (purchased April 4, 2012) - 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 - 15"
*SOLUTION*
If you pull open your "About this Mac", click "More Info", and then "System Report", click on "SATA" on the left column, and then if your stats in those windows match the stats from the 2 screenshots I posted, then your Optical Drive Bay/SuperDrive is equipped and handle a 6G/SATA-III drive or SSD! I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter at all what your "MacBookProX,x" number is, as long as you have #'s that match mine in those screenshots, you're good to go!
ENJOY!

Could you provide some rationale(s) behind it?  As far as I know, the mid 2010 Macbook Pro, the HDD is running via the SATA interface at running at 3.0 Gb/s, which is SATA II, and the Super-drive and/or the Optical drive, which is also running via SATA II interface, so I would assume the performance (i.e. primarily in speed) would be similar if not the same by placing the SSD drive in either one of the two places.
Also, wouldn't it be better by placing the SSD in the optical so the OEM HDD could be kept in the original main bay since it has the shock-sensing feature there?

Hello Jane Benstock,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
It sounds like the next best step to take would be to reset the iPod Shuffle.
Check out this article named Resetting iPod shuffle found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655.

• I have a newer MacBook Pro and I am trying to download my Final Cut Pro 7 Studio 2 on it. Is that possible or does the new MacBook Pro not support anything other than Final Cut Pro X?

I have a newer MacBook Pro and I am trying to download my Final Cut Pro 7 Studio 2 on it. Is that possible or does the new MacBook Pro not support anything other than Final Cut Pro X?

As Tom said the FCS forum is the better place to post the question.
Here is Apple's best practices doc for installing both on the same system.
BTW, FCP7 is part of the FCS 3 suite of apps.

• Does the new MacBook Pro have an optical drive?

Quick, easy question - does the new MacBook Pro come with an optical drive? Or does one have to purchase an external optical drive if one wants one?

Depends on which one you buy. The Retina models do not and if you need one, have to purchase the external SuperDrive for an additional cost. The other non-Retina models, 13" and 15", do come with an internal slot-loading SuperDrive. There are, as yet, no more 17" models and no announcement whether they will be released later.

• Why does the new MacBook Pro 13 no longer come with a graphics card?

Why does the new MacBook Pro no longer come with a graphics card?  Or at least make it so you can opt for one.

I know how you feel. Your MacBook Pro has integrated graphics 384 MB or 512 MB. If you are a gamer, creative professional or just want more VRAM get a 15 inch MacBook Pro with up to 1 gig of VRAM or a windows gaming laptop with up to 16 gigs of VRAM (a ridiculous amount!). If you get a windows pc, you can always install virtual box. There is no point in buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro unless you need a lightweight laptop with all of the extra "goodies". There is also no possible way to change the graphics unless you know how to "unhook" the card from the processor and install a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.
