  • Does Premiere Elements support video from Sony HDR-XR160 camcorder???

I have premiere elements 12 and I cannot get it to download video files taken with a Sony AVCHD camcorder HDR-XR160.

    1001
Answers will be in the details. As a generalization, probably yes.
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to the 12.1 Update? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
What are the properties of your source media that you are trying to import into your Premiere Elements project?
    AVCHD.mts or AVCHD.mp4, 1920 x 1080 @ 60 progressive frames per second or other?
How are you trying to import files from your Sony HDR-XR160
    a. Add Media/Videos from Flip or Camera/Video Importer - involves USB connection between camera and computer on which Premiere Elements is installed
    or
    b. Add Media/Files and Folders from the hard drive save location to where your files have been transferred from camera to computer.
Try setting the project preset manually first
    NTSC AVCHD 1080p60
and then importing the 1080p60 into the project with that Add Media/Videos from Flip or Camera/Video Importer or Add Media/Files and Folders.
See details of manually setting project preset toward the bottom of the following blog
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
If your program is on a Mac computer, use the AVCHD.mp4 choice instead of the AVCHD.mts choice or convert the AVCHD.mts to
AVCHD.mp4 if your are dealing with videos already recorded.
More details will help us to help you.
    Thank you.

  • Download images from Sony NEx 7 to lightroom

Anyone familiar with downloading raw images from Sony NEX 7 to lightroom.

This is the list of currently supported cameras
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5371?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
The Nex5-R is not on the List and so that Raw format is not supported at this time.
Note: The Raw from every model of camera is different. Note: that's every model not every brand. So, the NEF produced by a Nikon D40 is not the same as the NEF produced by a D60, the CR2 produced by a Canon 350 is not the same as the CR2 produced by a Canon 400.
Therefore the Raw for every camera model needs to be added individually. If yours is not supported then let them know you want it:

  • What frame rates does FCP 7 support?

The manual does not mention 1080p60 once while it enumerates virtually every other resolution, frame rate and interlaced/progressive that typical camcorders can record. I thought that meant it did not support 1080p60, but it is clear from several posts here that it does support it. Does FCP 7 support 1080p60 with some restrictions? Does FCP 7 support any frame rate--say 5,000 frames a second that a high speed camera might generate? Thanks, Dennis

It supports 1080p60...that is 1080p at 60fps (because 1080i60 means 29.97 fps)...but you have to modify things. That is a non-standard format. BluRay discs don't play that, only one high end tape format supports that format. Because of this lack of real support for this format, barring very high end, it isn't a general setting in FCP.
yes, there are cameras that shoot that format. And I suppose they are meant to have you play back from the camera, or SD card player (some BluRay players do this).
Does FCP 7 support any frame rate--say 5,000 frames a second that a high speed camera might generate?
FCP supports editing of professional broadcast formats. Cameras that shoot 5000fps, generally are meant to then output that to one of the broadcast formats...23.98, 29.97. Thus getting that slow motion. You don't edit 5000fps. NO editing app edits 5000fps. It gets converted to the proper frame rate, then edited. The Phantom camera files are converted for editing.

  • Does mountain lion support install from a RAID drive?

does mountain lion support install from a RAID drive?

Apple does not support the 3rd party drives.  To enable it (without installing another software package), you can visit the website:
    http://digitaldj.net/2011/07/21/trim-enabler-for-lion/
I ran the series of commands on my Mac Pro and it did enable TRIM.
the webpage even has a backup/back-out procedure.
Without TRIM, my computer was running extremely slowly.  After enabling TRIM, my computer ran substancially faster.

  • Support for RAW (ARW) from Sony NEX-7

I have iPhoto 9.2.3 (629.52) on my macBook Air running OS X 10.6.8.  I successfully imported Raw photos from my Sony NEX-7 (ARW).
I have iPhoto 9.2.3 (629.52) on my iMac running OS X 10.6.8.  When I try to import these same Sony Raw files, I get the message that the format is not supported (or whatever that message is).
I downloaded the RAW camera update 3.9 and installed it on my iMac.  Still no go.
    What gives?  Any ideas?  Suggestions?

Ah, wouldn't you know it.  Found the answer right after I posted my question (I looked before . . . I swear I did).
I needed and have downloaded the RAW Camera Update 3.13 (I think the specific update I needed was in the RAW Camera update 3.10).
    Thanks . . . um . . . to me
    Cheers.

  • Capturing footage to FCP 6.0.1 from Sony HVRZ1U HD Camera

I'm doing an HD project using a Sony HVRZ1U camera. I'm capturing footage from a Sony HDV GV-HD700 deck. I get nothing in the viewer when I go to log and capture and I cannot capture anything when I press capture because there is no video signal. I can see video on the viewer for the deck. When I change the settings on the deck from AV-DV out, I can see a stretched version in DV quality when I change the settings. I just cannot see a HDV signal to my computer. What are the correct settings for capturing this format? I've tried all the various possibilities and haven't been successful. The deck is connected to the computer via firewire to the HDV/DV iLink cable. Is this deck compatible with FCP? Is the video too much info for the computer?

When setting any Sony HDV device to output HDV you should disconnect the ilink/wirefire cable first, in the menu find Rec In/Out and set the ilink Conv to OFF for HDV. Then connect to the computer when both computer and deck are turned off.
If you have 6.0.1 then why not updated to the latest version, if you do update you will also need to update Quicktime.

  • I can not import 60p files from Sony NEX-FS100U to Final Cut Pro X.

I can not import 60p files from my Sony NEX-FS100U to Final Cut Pro 10.0.1.  Does Sony offer a plug in?

I shoot fishing footage of big catches.  Slow motion playback appears to me to be much better when shot it 60p even compared to 60i.  It also blows away all of the other formats for a "still" grab.  Thank you for your help as I did a search and downloaded Clip Wrap which converted the files to .mov and they actually do import the full 60 frames.  Thank you again for your reply.

  • Can't find movies on sd card from Sony nex-5

Recently I've recorded some videos while on vacation and a lot of pictures on the same sd card using a Sony NEX-5.
When I've got home and tryed to upload it to my iPad (3rd generation) the pictures jumped right out to upload, but, for
Some reason I can't find the footage for the videos. I know it's there because I've used the sd card on a PS3 and I was
Able to watch on my tv, via PS3. For some reason iMovie is not recognizing the AVHCD file format or anything at all other
Than the pictures. I don't know if I have to transfer the footage to other format or what am I doing wrong. The movie was recorded
In HD (1080p)! AVCHD. By the way I'm not an expert on it. just a point and shoot kind of guy. So probably I'm the one doing
The wrong thing. Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ricmel01.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
If you camera doesn't produce one of the above formats, you'll have to do a conversion.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do I import RAW images from Sony NEX 5-R to iPhoto?

I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and iPhoto 9.4.2 and have installed Digital Camera RAW compatability update 4.01 but still can't import RAW images from my new Sony NEX 5-R digital camera.. any ideas? I also have Photoshop CS6 - should I import through that if iPhoto isn't a feasible option..?

  • Photos imported from Sony NEX-3N disappear from iPhoto

I recently imported a series of photos from several different sources (pentax camera, iPhone, USB key and a Sony NEX-3N camera) and all the photos appeared to be imported correctly. I was able to edit the photos and put them in various events in the library manager.
Now, a few hours later, all the photos from the Sony camera have disappeared from the library manager but none of the other photos. They were briefly visible in the photo stream but are disappearing in front of me! When I click on one in the photo stream, it tells me that it has already been imported. Then when I try to display it in the album, it's not there. I've tried using the research function, sorting by date and even the intelligent album function (to find all photos from the Sony NEX-3N) with no success.
When I manage to grab a sony photo from the photo stream before it disappears, and copy it into an album, the information about the source disappears and appears empty. But the photo remains (unfortunately only about 10 out of 200!!)
When I view the event in the library where they should be, the other photos seem to move around on their own, as if the sony photos are there and then disappearing but I can't actually see the missing photos. I've also tried showing hidden photos and looking in the finder library files, to no success.
    Help??

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - from the resulting first aid window repair permissions and if necessary rebuild your database

  • HD videos from Sony NEX-3 sound like the Chipmunks

My Sony NEX-3 720p MP4 videos sound like the Chipmunks. Video frame rate appears ok but the sound is way too fast. The files play nicely e.g. in Preview though.
iMovie imports the files nicely, using the internal SD reader in my iMac. However, the sound is out of sync in the imported files. From the sound of it, it seems the audio runs at least at 2x the speed.
Currently I use Handbrake for converting the camera clips into 25 fps m4v and then importing these into iMovie but it is a pain.

Can you tell me how you imported the video from your NEX-3 to iMovie?  When I try, the camera automatically opens iPhoto and imports it there.  If I open iMovie, all of the selctions are grayed-out so I can't import them.  I've tried getting the video straight from the camera but can't seem to do that either. Can you help?

  • Import from Sony NEX-6 crashes iPhoto?

My wife got a new Sony NEX-6. We're back from a vacation and I'm trying to import her photos into iPhoto.  After crashing iPhoto about 20 times, I still haven't imported half of her photos.  I have copied all her photos to my Mac, and I just drag a folder of them to iPhoto.  If it's not the first time I've tried to import that forlder, I tell iPhoto not to import photos already imported.  iPhoto works a while and then crashes. When I restart it, it says it found photos that weren't imported and would I like to import them. I say yes, and some of the photos it had been working on when it crashed end up getting imported.  Repeat until you pull your hair out.  This problem is not just with one memory card, but occurs with all eight memory cards she used in her NEX-6 on our trip.  I imported all my photos from my Canon S95 without a hitch, as normal.  But there's something about importing photos that were taken on a Sony NEX camera that causes iPhoto to crash quite often.
My wife uses Aperture and didn't have a problem importing her photos into Aperture.
I've seen discussions on other fora about others seeing the same problem with other Sony NEX cameras, so I know this isn't just me.
    Any thoughts?

My wife took several thousand photos on our trip.  iPhoto will import anywhere between 5 and 123 photos before it crashes, so it's not every photo that crashes iPhoto, but just some of them.  (I don't remember the exact numbers of photos that iPhoto has been able to import before crashing, but sometimes it's just a few, and sometimes it can import more than a hundred before it crashes.  So, to do an exhasutive test of what you're describing, I'd have to manually open and save a lot of photos to prove anything.  Are you thinking of this as a fix, or just a way to gather more information about the problem?

  • Does hp dc7900 support booting from 3tb hdd?

does hp dc7900 minitower support booting from 3tb hdd?

    Hi:
    Probably not.
In order to be able to boot from a 3 TB HDD, you need:
    1. A UEFI BIOS, which I do not believe the dc7900 has.
There is a picture (see page 5 at the link below) of the HP splash screen for an HP business desktop that has a UEFI BIOS. If your HP splash screen doesn't look like the one in the picture, then you will not be able to boot from a 3 TB HDD.
    2. A GPT-formatted hard drive.
