Does FCPX 10.2 runs on Maverick ?

I am now still using FCPX Ver 10.1 on Maverick.
Anyone knows whether this latest FCPX Ver 10.2 will run on Maverick ?
Or will it only run on Yosemite ?

I just check using Utilities like how the link provided by Ian says.
I went to my Macintosh Volume and it says that I have 3TB of fusion drive.
When I said I want to create 2 partition, it named it as Macintosh and Macintosh 2.
Questions:
1. Say if I use Macintosh as Maverick and Macintosh 2 for Yosemite, how do I know what should be the size of both the partitions Macintosh & Macintosh 2 ?
2. What should I put in the Maverick partition ? Only the FCPX 10.1 and its Events & Projects folder ? And how do I do that ?
3. So, I shall put the rest of the applications in Yosemite partition ? So I must start FCPX 10.2 afresh with new events and folders altogether ?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Does Adobe Illustrator 10 run under Mavericks or Yosemite?

I've put off upgrading from OS 10.6.8 because I do a lot of work in Adobe Illustrator 10. I can't really justify the expense of upgrading to any of Adobe's Creative Suite packages because the Illustrator work I do doesn't bring in any revenue. Increasingly, other software I need will no longer run under 10.6. I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place on this. So, is anybody out there able to run Illustrator 10 under Mavericks or Yosemite, or even OS10.8? Thanks.

Upgrading an OS does not have to be an all-or-nothing proposition. You can simply have two operating systems installed, if you want to preserve Snow Leopard and Illustrator 10, and also use a later OS for other apps. You can add an external HD for the newer OS and apps for way, way less than the cost of Illustrator 5.5. You can also use your new drive/OS to safely explore the workability of running Snow Leopard Server in a VM (virtual machine) using Parallels or VMware Fusion on a 10.8 or later system. It would cost a very modest amount to try the combination of VMware Fusion and Snow Leopard Server. Server is available from Apple for $20 (but only by calling them). I don't remember what Fusion costs, but it works well and the license allows you to install it on more than one machine, which the Parallels' license doesn't.

Does Photoshop CS 4 run on Mavericks? How do I get it to run if so?

I am migrating from my MacBook with System X.6.8 and Photoshop CS 4 to a new MacBook Pro computer running System X.9.1 I have copied Photoshop CS 4 over, but it does not run. I copied all of the System files I could figure out becaue I could not find the original installation disk. I upgraded from Photograph CS on the MacBook. I see that I need to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop, but I cannot find my original disks which are buried. What can I do? Or, will this even run?
If not, will Photoshop CS 6 run on my computer. Is there an upgrade version of it, or do I start from scratch. I do not want to do the monthly cloud thing. I want the program on my computer. I mainly need to edit photos for my web page and personal photos.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)

Will GB 10.0.3 & FCPX 10.1.4 run on Mavericks?
Would I receive updates that weren't applicable to Mavericks?

GarageBand 10.0.3 and Final Cut Pro 10.1.4 work with OS X Mavericks. In both cases, you will still receive updates for these apps always that they are compatible with OS X Mavericks (if not, the Mac App Store will not let you install them).

Had the same issues. For me, I found unmounting any external drives and relaunching FCPX worked.
Mavericks seems to have some issues with launching Final Cut, so its best to launch and then plug in any external drives - hope that helps.

Does Adobe CS6 now work after Mavericks upgrade? I know people were having problems.

I have been told that CS6 does not work with the new Mavericks upgrade. Apple Support Chat were very helpful. Advised to contact Adobe. Wondered what other people have discovered so far. Thanks in advance people!

We have CS6 on multiple iMacs in our department at work with Mavericks. No problems running any CS6 applications at all.
We have only run into one problem with Acrobat Pro X after installing Creative Cloud, that every time we start that app, it asks for the CS6 license number. Thus we have stopped using it for Acrobat Pro XI.

Will iTunes 10.7 run under Mavericks?

I just can't get used to iTunes 11, and I don't yet have any IOS 7 devices which would require that I do so.
I want to downgrade to iTunes 10.7, but will it run under Mavericks? I do want to upgrade to that.

OK I HAVE TRIED THIS. i updated to mavericks without even thinking about itunes 11, unfortunately it wiped my 10,7 but i got rid of 11 and did the pacifist way and got 10.7 again only to find it completely ****** my system, all of a sudden songs are stopping at random points, process ituneslibrary.blahblah keeps self quiting and popping up annoying warning messsages, also NOTHING could be updated or redownloaded off the app store while 10.7 was installed.
i attempted to fix permissions, this only made my itunes entirely inaccesible, now i have bitten the bullet and gone to 11, be smart and don't fall for it, if its too good to be true (ie free os) theres often some catch related to self interest brewing behind the scenes. theres such a headache involved with downgrading an os so really don't jump in, osx 11 is right around the corner, the new features are easy to overlook, my pc does run cooler but i lost the last version of itunes i enjoy operating and the piece of mind that it was my computer to do with it what a choose. like come on you got rid of front row and coverflow, weren't they the two big things innovated for osx in recent times that really made the mac feel less like a computer and more like a personal experience? oh thats right, money to be made. excuse me but when innovation was a regular thing for your company the focus was never on "what features can we steal from the next osx to make our customers buy more activity specific products?" before you are the sinking ship merely being pointed in the right direction realise what made you great and don't stop, not the weight or the thinness, it's the usability and the personification

Does FCPX Work Better In Lion?

I've been reading about FCPX ever since before it was released... Lots of people were. I'm still debating whether to buy it or not. I've read a lot about how buggy it is, but most of that was written before Lion was released, and I'm thinking that the new OS would be adding more features and stability to FCPX. So I'm wondering if anybody who may have had difficulties with getting this app to work well on SL, have discovered that it works very well on Lion.
Have you found it to be more stable? Does Lion add functionality that is missing with SL? Does FCPX finally run the way it's supposed to? I'd really like to know, especially because I'm not very fond of Premiere. Thanks.

I'm running FCP X on Lion and now that I don't have Studio 3 on the system, it's working flawlessly.
I have something over 3,400 clips in the browser and it copes with no problem. The only time I get the spinning beachball is when FCP X has to wait for the two external HDs to wake up.
As far as functionality's concerned, I can't help you. Everything seems to be there though.

By cable standards it's not very fast. Assuming it runs at top speed with no hiccups at either end you can download about 650 KB/s. So, that suggests it will take a little over two hours. Of course transfers are rarely ever perfect, so could take more than two yours, realistically. My pipe is about four times faster than yours, and I've seen the download take twice as long as it "should."

with yosemite 10.10: streaming fails, bonjour fails, wifi fails, airplay fails, even wired browsing safari fails, apps can't load or open, apps can't sense their servers to activate, wifi is disturbed for other users on network, computers rename and sharing does not work as expected, screen redraw stops, leaving a stalled finder window without visible list of contents, not even text will show up, parts of photographic images are pixelated, I added 32 g upgrade and little changed. Old 2.66 quad 4, 1 is faster with 20G ram and old sata not faster than 7200 rpm. New iMac 5K can't even open images. Is there a way to downgrade to mavericks even though it is not specified for the new imac5K?
Is there an update for the terrible airdrop/airplay/wifi issues? Dropbox is not working correctly. Creative cloud is confused.
I backup manually so at least I don't have time machine creating multiple images of the drive right now.

Can new mini run pre-Mavericks?

I'm interested in getting a new Mac Mini that can run pre-Mavericks. Does anyone here have success taking a new mini, pre-configured with Mavericks and reverting to Mountain Lion? I need to retain USB sync of Contacts and Calendars (no perpetual internet connectivity) and Mavericks no longer supports USB sync this way. I upgraded my Mid 2010 mini to Mavericks then downgraded after the discovery. I would like to get the newest possible Mac Mini that can still run ML.
Any experience would be appreciated.

i have the same question as the original poster.
i understand that apple says you can't install an earlier version of os x than what the computer ships with, but that seems unlikely if the hardware in the mini hasn't changed at all since 10.8.
does anyone know what exactly could prevent a new mini from running 10.8?

Server failed to start: The domain path does not match the running server

Hi,
I've configured Eclipse to run my local weblogic - which actually is working fine.
The server starts as intended and reaches state RUNNING.
As soon as this happens, OEPE tries to validate the server and compares the identified server's configuration to the expected configuration.
This finally results into the error message shown in the subject -- though server is still running.
!MESSAGE Server watcher[Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 1 at localhost]:The domain path does not match the running server.
Domain RootDirectory retrieved from the MBean of running server is: N:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\USER_P~1\domains\MYWEBL~1\
Domain RootDirectory of this server: N:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\myWeblogicServer
Obviously this seems to be an issue with the length of the directory and file names. The domain's configuration and all its start scripts do not have any 8+3 pathes, like USER_P~1 for user_projects. Nevertheless the MBean of the server returns such a "truncated" path which in turn is invalid for OEPE.
Fix: When setting up the domain in Eclipse, try using that 8+3 representation of the domain's location. Then the comparison will succeed...
My Question: Where do we need to ask for a fix in OEPE? The 8+3 path is still a valid one ...

I haven't been able to reproduce this and 8+3 representation of the domain's location shouldn't be required.
Can you provide more information:
- is this a network drive?
- what is your OS: XP, Vista, Win7?
- what is the Windows file system type, is it FAT or NTFS
- Can you try install WLS on C:, e.g. C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects and see if it still happens?

Does FCPX 10.2 runs on Maverick ?
