Does FF for Android have a popup blocker?

Several sites which I visit frequently have popups inviting me to sign up for newsletters I already receive. I can't find any way to block these. Is there a built in blocker? If so, how do I activate it? What other options do I have?

I have same problem

    Might be a Safari extension...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Does Adobe Reader for Android have the Flash Player Runtime

I have a PDF document that I generate which contains an embedded Flex application.
It works fine with the desktop version of PDF reader. However. It doesn't appear that
PDF reader for Android contains the Flash Player runtime.
Can someone from Adobe confirm this ?
    Thanks.

Dov, you confimed that Adobe Reader for Android has the Flash Player Runtime - I thought this feature is necessary to be able to show embedded  (flv) videos?
What about viewing cross platform proof PDF files containing mp4 (H.264) embedded videos?
Up to now I’m forced to show ezPDF Reader in my workflow scenarios - think about the bad psychology that I always will have explain that the rich media PDF workflows could work with Adobe products, but Adobe itself seems to limit PDF use cases in order not to become a competitor of let’s guess of FOLIO?
Please explain me why? No market? I would like to contradict as much as I can.
If someone starts to weaken the big possibilities for PDF even on mobile devices this seems to be Adobe itself: Where are the Adobe show cases showing rich media PDFs on mobile devices?
Almost everything Adobe is showing with rich media information is in DPS  based on Folio  (slide shows, videos etc).
You might get all the functionality much easier using PDF (seen from a classic DTP workflow using Word, FrameMaker or InDesign)
Why didn’t Adobe add more multimedia features?  Where is the 3D support on mobile devices?
Has Adobe changed the overall PDF strategy?
Where is an  Adobe PDF cross platform strategy for using rich media PDFs on PC, Macs, Android and iPhone/iPads?

  • I thought Firefox for Android had an ad blocker feature. Does it and if it does, jow do i turn it on? I use a Samsung GS4

hello ustharp, you can block ads on firefox for android with extesions like bluehell firewall or adblock:

  • How do I block a popup window that I have allowed to open on Firefox once? I now have the popup blocker set to block all sites, but the popup still opens every time I open Firefox or open (sometimes) a new tab.

How do I block a popup? I allowed this popup to open once. Now I have set the popup blocker to block all sites but this popup still opens every time I open Firefox and sometimes (usually) when I open a new tab.
I Have stopped and restarted Firefox multiple times.
    I have rebooted the computer.
I have set the tools/options/content/block pop-up windows/exceptions to block all sites (no exceptions).
I have no other issues with Firefox.
I have Adblock plus (with (1) subscription) installed
I am currently using Firefox version 4.0 on Windows7 Ultimate.

Just to address the last point: check your History menu to see whether you have the Restore Previous Session option and use that if you can. If that is grayed out or doesn't restore everything, check the Recently Closed Windows and Recently Closed Tabs lists for other pages.
The unwanted window may be generated by an add-on. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
Here are some other things to check:
    (1) user.js file that changes Firefox startup behavior and overrides your preferences. This article describes how to track that down and delete it if you have one: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    (2) Possible hijacked shortcut. Check the "target" of the desktop icon you use to start Firefox to see whether it lists the unwanted page. To do that:
right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
For 64-bit Windows 7, the Target should be no more and no less than this:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
    (3) Possible undisclosed bundle items. If you have installed any free software recently, check your Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a program for surprises. If you click the "Installed on" column head to group by date, it is easier to spot bundled junk. Remove everything suspicious or unrecognized.
    (4) Supplemental clean up scans. Our support article lists tools other Firefox users have found helpful: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
    Hopefully that cures it.

  • Why does Firefox for android spring open when I clear notifications or open files?

    Motorola Moto G
    Latest Firefox for android
    Android KitKat
Why does Firefox spring open, even after I quit, because I have cleared notifications or opened a file I downloaded. I have double checked Firefox is NOT set to open images or videos automatically, es

ES File Manager is my default player for almost all media. Firefox is not set to default.
Here is a step by step.
I see a picture I like so I download it. Firefox has now sent me a notification that the download is complete. After eventually closing the browser, I then clear notifications. Upon doing so, Firefox opens, regardless of whether it was running in the background or truly closed.
    Thanks

  • Why does Firefox for Android crash when I try to play any media or plugin content?

I have had this device ASUS MEMO Pad for 6 months and Firefox for Android has never been able to play any media or plugin content without crashing. I have tried playing flash with the appropriate flash plugin installed and without and it crashes every time (it should not crash even without the plugin - it should handle it).
Even HTML5 video and mp3 audio will cause a crash every time (with tap to play enabled or disabled).

  • Does Mail (for Lion) have a return receipt function?

i was wondering whether Mail (for Lion) have a return receipt function. I've seen many negative answers, but they're all from 2007 and earlier. How can I configure for some of my messages to have return receipts?

Yeah, I do have the home and student Office version, but the trial version for outlook included in the package does not include this feature. Is is available only with the "real"version?
I'm not sure there is a forum for Office for Mac Product Forums, I'd recommend posting there is no one here is able to help.

  • What does IE for Mac have that Safari doesn't?

    Hi, folks.
The administrative website of my company doesn't work in Safari. That's a fact.
I've always accepted the idea that it would not work in Safari because it uses windows-only technology. BUT, the fact is that it works in Internet Explorer for Mac.
Since IE for Mac stopped in version 5, the sites gets very ugly (trucated text, out-of-size windows, giant bars), ugly but still functional.
So, if it works in IE for Mac, it seems for me that the site doesn't require Windows, but something found in IE that Safari doesn't have.
Does anyone know what this could be?
    Thanks in advance.
    JP

Without a URL to the pages we're all guessing.
Web pages are not designed for OS's and those that work for Windows should also work on Macs.
But many functions of Web design is optimized for specific browsers and, since IE for PC's is still about 75%, it seems it gets the most attention.
Since most Windows browsers do not play by the "rules" set forth in Web standards those old, poorly coded, pages do not render as designed when viewed in a browser that does follow industry standards.
Update your page code and it will work in any browser.

  • Why does Reader for Android want access to my GMail?

I was about to update Adobe Reader  on my Droid X just now and decided to review what changes were being  made to the application's permissions. Apparently now I would have to  "Allow this application to access: Your messages (read Gmail)"
Why would Adobe Reader need access to my Gmail messages?

This unexplained change in required privileges is totally unacceptable.
I am only one of many who are posting in Market feedback that we will not update to this latest version until a reasonable explanation is given.
As with Apple's "LocationGate", a failure to communicate early, clearly and accurately will cause (is causing?) a major negative reaction among users.
Adobe needs to either give a credible reason for this change or roll out an update that doesn't require access to our Gmail.
A further reason to be concerned about this privilege request: they want to access Gmail, but make no request to access our other email accounts via "messaging".  Why just Gmail?
Update: their revised release note mentions access to standard email with this update, but still does not request permission to do so. This makes the Gmail privilege all that more suspicious. As for their claim this is needed to open PDF attachments, the prior version did this without Gmail access permission
In any case, I'm joining the update boycott until this is explained or removed.

  • Does Firefox for Android Tablet support Flash Player?

I have a Samsung Tablet. I like to play Call of Gods. It requires Flash Player in order to play it. I have found Flash media readers, video players, but not anything to play browser games.
Does Firefox have the Flash Player that I can use to play online games on my Samsung Tablet?

SrazZz is incorrect and also did not give a reason why Flash will would not work.
As of Android 4.1+ one needs Firefox 27.0 or newer in order to run the old Flash 11.1 plugin from Adobe. Mozilla nor the Firefox browser does not make or supply Flash.
There is no guarantee it will work properly or at all on some hardware and cpus. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-watch-flash-videos-firefox-android

  • HT202879 does numbers for mac have a mail merge feature

Will numbers for mac offer a mail merge feature?

    Nicole Lynn,
Version 2 of Numbers (iWork '09) does have Mail Merge. If your profile is correct, that's probably what you are using. The instructions for using the feature are in the Pages User Guide PDF.
If your profile is out of date and you are using iWork '13 apps, you're out of luck. But, you can always go back to Version 2 of Numbers and Version 4 of Pages.

  • I have my popups blocked and have also added Adblock but I'm still getting popup windows FROM firefox constantly. Very annoying.

I've have tried researching it online but I just hear the same things over and over and they are helping. The popups are coming from Firefox and say Firefox in the corner. How do I get rid of them? I've been really happy with Firefox until now.

hello, you have various adware addons installed, that might cause this. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
