Does find my iphone help to find a stolen phone if it is off?
Someone stole my phone at a track meet but it says device offline and the location is unavailable is there any way to find it now?
FInd my iphone wont work if your phone is off, sadly. It only works if the phone is on and connected to wifi, which is not hepful as the thief can easily turn off the phone of even wipe it without unlocking it. So unless he turns your phone on and hasnt wiped it yet, your phone is gone for good...

i have a story about my sister, am talking on her behalf, she got stolen her phone at a caffee when she just come from a horeble exam, she was very mad and having haedace for not doing well at the exam, i ask her if we could have coffee before we go home, once she sate; while i was getting the coffee for her, some one snicked to her pocket and took the phone, immidatly she feelt it and went on to searching, but nathing was hopefull. what makes it more heart braking is that she worked day and night just to buy the phone and pay for her books and so on as a student. she use to work 16 houres a day before she had to start school. 8 houres in one place and then to the other place. and she was always demanding for more houres to work; one day her boss saw her on her other job and she was serprised to see her and saied OHhh my God Milly if you work like this, i wonder if you servive, how could you also ask for more houres, My sis had to do it she has no parents or any thing, well the phone was taken after only two months of having it. the sad thing is she stile dream having it even though she can't think of buying againe. well me i have tryed a lot of things but i know some were out there there is a solution for people like this, it is not always fare for some one who has payed up to 800 to just loose his ......
ThnksI'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

Does resetting your iphone wipe out everything on your phone? My phone shut off tonight and I can't even restart it - it's locked in the off mode.
A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -

How do I remove my iPhone 3G from list of stolen phones? I reported it to Apple as stolen and it was blacklisted so that whoever stole it would not be able to register it with apple. The phone was returned to us 3 weeks later.
Apple does not blacklist devices and has no list.

I am having an issue with airdrop, my mac does see my iphone and can send to it without problems however my i phone 6 plus does not see the mac or any other devise for that matter. blue tooth is on and the icon is on as well. but is blind. However other devises see it and even interact with it.

Did you turn on Find my iPhone in Settings before it was stolen (this has nothing to do with the app, whose purpose is to find OTHER iPhones)?
Assuming you did, have you logged on the your iCloud account and clicked "Find my iPhone"?
What message did you get?
Find my iPhone will only work if you enabled it in Settings, and only if the thief did not turn the phone off, remove the SIM, restore the phone as New, or wrap it in aluminum foil. -

How can i turn off find my iphone if i dont have the phone and its turned off

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch. -

I do realise your situation. Sorry, as you have mentioned that the location services on your phone was turned off, you may not be able to track your phone using the "Find My Phone" service.
You did the right thing in reporting the incidient to the proper authorities. I also advise you to contact your local telecommunications agency to request for blocking of the handset. -
In need of help didn't install find my iPhone on my iPhone 5 and it got stolen from me at a dd's but I had my id and other important stuff in it I need to find it because I can't risk getting my identity stolen what can I do.
You don't have to install the Find My iPhone app - you need to switch the feature on in the settings on the phone.
