Does firefox create multiple restore sessions and save them?

Sometimes my computer crashes twice in a row, or things happen similar to this. When this happens, the "Restore Session" is not available on the history dropdown menu. Why is that? Is there a way to make this happen? No way can I go through the total history - thousands of websites and some don't say what they are when looking at the URL or title. I don't want to save all the time - this is a basic function that could easily be done automatically.
Is there a solution to this?

Firefox should not be crashing, if t is maybe that is something to investigate.
Firefox does try to save Restore Sessions, but if you close down incorrectly or crash frequently they are going to get messed up.
Always try to close correctly, which on an XP will be by using the File option (Newer Windows sytems have the quit option under the new Firefox Button)
Have a look at the article
* [[Restore previous session - Configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs and windows]]
* and also possibly consider [[firefox hangs#w_delete-duplicated-session-restore-files]]_delete-duplicated-session-restore-files
If you are getting crashes see [[firefox crashes]]

  • Create multiple pdf files and open them at once from java application

    I came across a very unique problem , i am hoping some one could help me out with that .
    I am using itext to create pdf files , i have filtered some records (preferably i can say around 90) which has the option to open pdf for individual record.
    Now i need to open all the pdf's of filtered records on a single click , without asking for a open dialogue box.
    Can anyone give me an idea how to go about this ??

    The simplest thing I can think of is to call Desktop.start() for each selected file wich will start the defaut application registred for the file type in the users system for each selected file. In this case it depends on the associated program and/or its configuration if it starts a single instance showing all the files or a separate instance for each file. The beauty of this method is that you don't need to know what reader application the user has installed nor where it is located on her hard disk.
    The other option that comes to my mind is ProcessBuilder. There you could set all selected files as parameter list to the call of the viewer application.
    This also does not asure that all files get openned in the same single instance but the chance is much higher. At the down side you need to know what viewer application the user has installed and where. Also: when speaking of 90 files you most likely rung into a limitation of the maximum length of the systems command line.

    I have a temp working for me and she scanned all our batches upside down is there a way to flip them and save them without her having to rescan every batch.  We have tried flipping them and doing a save as, we have also tried to flip them and create a new pdf document but nothing seems to be working

    If the file type is PDF then open them in Acrobat and rotate them via Tools - Pages - Rotate (not via the View menu, which is only temporary).
    You can also do this in an Action, if you have Acrobat Pro, and process multiple files in a single process.

    When I click on a .docx document Firefox thinks it is binary and saves it but does not open with MS Word. But it knows .doc is MS Word and opens it automatically (this is the behavior I would like with .docx docs.) In preferences -- applications - it is just says "content type" is "microsoft word document" but doesn't give a way to choose .docx specifically. Is there another way to do this?

    Hi ,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you could not edit documents with Office client application in SharePoint 2010.
    Let’s do a troubleshooting about this issue:
    1. Make sure that you have installed Office application on your machine.
    2. Which explorer did you use for your SharePoint. Please test it with IE 10 32-bit, compare the result.
    3. Please try to reset IE, compare the result.
    4. Add your SharePoint site into Trusted site on your IE options.
    5. Make sure all add-ons related to SharePoint are enable, special for SharePoint OpenDocument Class and SharePointOpenXMLDocuments.
    6. Since you used OWA for your SharePoint site, please try to disable OWA, then open documents with client application, compare the result.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

    5.0.1 Firefox, application froze then crashed. Restarted it, but no 'restore session' and i've lost all my tabs. Help please?!?!
    Done config:restoresession, and nothing.

    There shouldn't be any numbered sessionstore-##.js in the Firefox Profile Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    The presence of such files usually indicates that that was a problem with accessing the main sessionstore.js file that prevented Firefox from renaming the temp file with the number.<br />
    In this case you may be lucky that the file with the highest number may have that session.<br />
    You can try to rename the file sessionstore-3.js to sessionstore.js to see if that brings back the lost tabs.
    If you use the Time Machine then you can try to restore a copy of sessionstore.js from around the time that you lost that session.

  • How can you create a voice recording and save it as an mp3?

    I want to create a voice recording and save it as an mp3.  How can I do that on the MAC?  Right now I can only think of recording the voice in iMovie, but it does not have a choice to save as an mp3.

    Rather that iMovie, you may want to check our Audacity.
    It's a free, open-source audio editor and recorder.
    You can easily save a recording as an MP3.

  • Using Start-Job to launch multiple SSH sessions and esxtop?

    Hello folks,
    I am trying to start an esxtop session on multiple esx servers at the same time.
    I started trying using Start-Job thinking it would help do it asynchronously.
    The script I have below works on one host so far, but need suggestions to repeat it for multiple hosts, thinking by looping through changing the $i each time?
    Checking if anyone would have comment?
    $i = 1
    $seconds = 5
    $iterations = 2
    $esxtopfile = "esxtop$i_$((Get-Date).ToString('MMddyyy-hhmm')).csv"
    $ComputerName = "z420esxi$i.domain.net"
    # Start an esxtop session using SSH.net and start an esxtop command - module already loaded.
    $sb = {New-SshSession -ComputerName $($args[0]) -KeyFile C:\esxi-key-openssh.key -Username root
           Invoke-SshCommand -ComputerName $($args[0]) -command "esxtop -d $($args[1]) -a -b -n $($args[2]) > /tmp/$($args[3])"
    Start-Job  -ScriptBlock $sb -ArgumentList $ComputerName,$seconds,$iterations,$esxtopfile | Wait-Job | Receive-Job

A: Using Start-Job to launch multiple SSH sessions and esxtop?

You're starting for a job, waiting for that job to complete and then finally receiving that job
before allowing anything else to happen with your script.
In other words, if you had some code after the Start-Job line, it would not be executed until the job had completed and you had received the job, which partially negates the benefits of using a job to begin with (specially bearing in mind you don't have
a form).
The way to achieve what you're after is to start all jobs at the same time, one per ESX host, and then finally to wait for all jobs and collect all jobs at the end.
Here's a quick example that starts 5 jobs and wait for all of them to complete before receiving the results.
$jobs = @()
$jobs += 1..5 | ForEach-Object {Start-Job -ScriptBlock {Sleep $args[0]; "I just slept for $($args[0]) seconds"} -ArgumentList $_}
[void] (Wait-Job $jobs)
Receive-Job $jobs
Notice that each of the subsequent jobs will take longer and longer to run, with the first being the fastest and the last the slowest. Still, I'm waiting for *all* jobs to complete before performing the Receive-Jobs on all of them at the same time.

  • Open all pages in a PDF and save them as sequential files

    I'm trying to make a script that will open all pages in a multi-page PDF and save them as sequential files, but I have had no luck with the simple script in the "Adobe Ilustrator CS5 Reference: JavaScript".
    there example to open a PDF to a designated page does not work for me in Illustrator CS 5.
    // Opens a PDF file with specified options
    var pdfOptions = app.preferences.PDFFileOptions;
    pdfOptions.pDFCropToBox = PDFBoxType.PDFBOUNDINGBOX;
    pdfOptions.pageToOpen = 2;
    // Open a file using these preferences
    var fileRef = filePath;
    if (fileRef != null) {
    var docRef = open(fileRef, DocumentColorSpace.RGB);
    if anyone can get me on the right path it would be appreciated.

    Hi DuanesSFK,
    you can open a PDF page on this way (tested with CS3 and 5):
    //OpenPDFpage2.jsx
    var uILevel = userInteractionLevel;
    app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS;
    // Opens a PDF file with specified options
    var pdfOptions = app.preferences.PDFFileOptions;
    pdfOptions.pDFCropToBox = PDFBoxType.PDFBOUNDINGBOX;
    pdfOptions.pageToOpen = 2;
    // Open a file using these preferences
    //var fileRef = filePath;
    var fileRef = File("~/Desktop/YourOwn.pdf");
    if (fileRef != null) {
    var docRef = open(fileRef, DocumentColorSpace.RGB);
    app.userInteractionLevel = uILevel;
    To open all pages you have to loop through all pages etc.
    Easier for you:
    Search here in forum for the "open pdf" script  (I don't know the exactly name, it was written by CarlosCanto, ) This should always work for you.
    Have fun

  • Are my iCloud photos stored? I lost phone abroad and want to access the photos and save them to my iPad.

    are my iCloud photos stored? I lost phone abroad and want to access the photos and save them to my iPad.

    Photo stream photos remain in iCloud for 30 days, and can be accessed by enabling my photo stream on another iOS device or computer.  Shared streams remain in iCloud indefinitely, and can be accessed by enabling Photo Sharing on an iOS device or computer.  Your camera roll photos are included in your device backup.  Restoring the backup to another iPhone or iPod touch should recover them (unfortunately, you can recover them by restoring an iPhone backup to your iPad).  If the backup is an iCloud backup be aware that Apple will delete it after 180 days of inactivity so you'll want to restore the backup prior to that.

    I have old video clips in Photoshop Elements Organizer v12 for Mac.  I want to divide some of those single clips into 2 or 3 separate clips, each shown separately in Organizer.  I can divide the clips in Premiere Elements Editor 12 and save them as "Projects" - but I can't find any way to get those divided clips back into Organizer.  Does anyone know whether that can be done?  Many thanks for your thoughts.

    What about Google Drive? And just share the folder with the family members.

  • When I export my photos and save them as a jpeg.  Am I still losing information?

    When I export my photos and save them as a jpeg.  Am I still losing information?  Would I be better of saving them as a TIFF or a PSD?  Also I know DNG is a digital negative, would that be the better format to save all my stuff?

    I apologize if you already thoroughly know all this (I couldn't be sure):
    When you export, you don't change the original (i.e. you never overwrite the original). So, you can export a million times and never lose quality (of the original), regardless of the export formats you choose.
    Of course the quality of the export depends on the chosen format, and if the format is lossy (e.g. jpeg), then export quality also depends on the size & quality settings.
    TIFF is lossless, so quality is essentially equivalent to the raw in Lightroom. It's the preferred format if a really BIG file is OK. Jpeg was invented to reduce file-size as much as possible without being too much inferior, quality-wise - and it does that very well.
    DNG is good for some stuff, but don't export your photos in DNG format unless you know what you are doing and why... Lot's of people like converting their originals to DNG format, but that's a whole different kettle of fish...
    Note, it may very well make sense to export a jpeg as tiff, since exporting a jpeg as jpeg is not as good. - reminder: when you export, you are not overwriting the original, you are making a new copy from the original, by combining it with develop edits if there have been any.
