Does Firefox play .wav files on Quicktime 10 with an iMac with Snowleopard?

I upgraded to Snowleopard, on my iMac desktop. On Safari, the .wav files (voicemail) from work play (on Quicktime 10), but on Firefox 5.0.1 they don't. The message says I need an additional plug in, but they are for making videos and listening to audio visualizations, and making closed captionings. I tried two of them anyway (Divx and Express Burn) and they didn't work. Now I am having trouble getting rid of the plugins I tried. How can I get it to work on Firefox 5.0.1? I called Apple, they said to ask you.
Sincerely,
Windancer

It is very important to me and I have been using this feature on my blackberry and my palm 755p I don't under stand why they would release a phone and not have the needed software for it .

  • Cannot play wav files through Quicktime 7.6.6 embedded object

    We are playing voice messages on the web page using QuickTime player .
    We have embedded QuickTime object in the web page to play the messages
    We are facing an issue with playing of voice messages with the latest QuickTime version 7.6.6. These messages are playing in the previous versions of the QuickTime.
    We tried to update the classid for the latest QuickTime version while embedding the object but we are not able to hear the messages, also we are not getting any error or exceptions.
    We are able to hear the messages after downloading it locally using the new QuickTime version.
    Let us know the resolution

  • Quicktime not playing .wav files

    I cannot get .wav files to play.
    I have installed Flip4Mac Beta for snow Leopard (twice) and even reinstalled Quicktime Player 7 just in case that would work since my Quicktime 10 (51) does not handle .wav files. This is a big problem.
    Is there a solution since I think it may be something with my upgrade to snow leopard and incompatibility issues and hopefully this is an issue being worked on by apple.

    "I have installed Flip4Mac Beta"
    BETA=buggy. Suggest that you post your concerns over on the Flip4Mac forums.
    There may be solutions regarding how to make their beta product work w/QT & Snow Leopard.

  • Play WAV files into the .jar

    Hello,
    I'm doing small application Java with Netbeans.
    I need is to play .wav file sounds are incorporated into the jar.
    I do not want to use external libraries or external sound files, etc.. I want to go with my .JAR to the office, home, etc ... just need the JAR to hear the sounds.
    I've created a folder "Sounds" in "src" and in that place I have my sounds. (Project / src / sounds). It's a way to incorporate a JAR file, or am I wrong?? Run independently of the sound files.
    At the time of reproducing the sound I do the following:
    Clip sonido = AudioSystem.getClip();
    File f = new File(getClass().getResource(/Sonidos/alarma.wav).toURI());
    sonido.open(AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(f));
    sonido.start();
    If I run the program with netbeans, I play sounds, but which only transfer my .JAR to another computer, does not play ...
    Any ideas?
    Thank's.

    I don't understand, before I had done as you have written me, but did not work, but now it works.
    Problem solved. Thank's.
    Posting the code here:
    InputStream path = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/Sonidos/alarma.wav");
    try
    sonido = AudioSystem.getClip();
    sonido.open(AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(path));
    sonido.start();
    }catch(Exception fail)
    System.out.println(fail);

  • How do you make itunes not play wav files?

    I know how to make it play wav files but how do I remove it from the default player list? I want them to all play in Quicktime. I have done the right click, holt alt and press Always Open With... and also done the right click and specify it to open in Quicktime. I have done this on 3 different Macs with 2 different OSX versions. It will open in Quicktime that one time but then the next time I open a wav file it goes back to Quicktime.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    It will open in Quicktime that one time but then the next time I open a wav file it goes back to Quicktime.
    Do you mean, "goes back to iTunes"?  "A wav file," or the same wav file you just changed?
    Did you select the additional option in Get Info's Open With window to, "Change all of this kind to open with Quicktime"?

  • Can my muvo tx fm play WAV fil

    my question is my problem and if it can what ccan i be doing wrong? plz im trying to get a song i really like but it wont show up on my mp3

    well...i used to have an MuVo TX FM, and i know everything about it !! but now it's broken.
    Anyway, it can play mp3, wma and wav files encoded only in a unique way !
    but i don't think it can play wav files except in the recordings folder, but i don't really encourage that you play wav files in it !
    you can convert wav to mp3 by any converter you get, or download, but for faster conversion use the creative mediasource, it's in any cd you get with any creative mp3 player !!!!
    tell me if it works.
    cheer to all !!!!

  • Can iPod play WAV files

    I have the All Music Converter and have converted some of my iPod music files to WAV. However, I can't get iTunes to accept the files. Can iPod play WAV files? Does anyone know how to get them to transfer into iTunes? Thank you.

    Uncompressed WAV files are on the list of compatible formats, has there been any compression applied to the files you have converted?

  • I thought the Style 100 could play .wav files !!

    which is why I bought one!
    !!! Just deli'vered. I've tried all the suggestions in the forum messages. None work.
    I have used drag and drop into the music folder and the recordings folder. The files don't show up in the Zen folders although they are visible when I explore the Zen like a thumb dri've. What's up!!!
    Your specifications say it plays .wav files thiis is apparently incorrect information. Creative Centrale does not recognize .wav files either.
    Are you going to change the spec or provide support for playing .wav *as advertised?*
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There are many different kinds of compression formats for wav files. The ZEN Style 00 supports IMA-ADPCM compression. Please check the compression format of your wav files.

  • Playing AVI File In Quicktime

    Ok, here is my problem. I used to have Windows XP on my computer with Quicktime installed. I also had the DivX Suite (including the DivX codec) installed. I had no trouble playing *.avi files in Quicktime. However, now I have upgraded to Vista, I have done the same thing, installed Quicktime as well as the DivX Suite, but every time that I attempt to play *.avi files in Quicktime (I have tried several different files) I continue to get the error message that "Additional software is required for Quicktime to play back this media. It may be available from the Quicktime Components page." and it shows me that I need to download DivX. I have tried uninstalling DivX and downloading a fresh copy and installing. Same thing with Quicktime, but no luck. I have also tried installing the Xvid applications and still nothing. Does anyone have a guess at what it could be and is there something else that I need to do?

    I have a question for you instead of any help. I have XP with Quicktime installed. Both DivX and Xvid are installed and I can't get it to play .avi files with Quicktime. All it does is plays about a half second of audio then nothing. It used to pop up the additional software message, not sure if that is still the case. Media Player plays them no problem, but I personally can't stand WMP or any other Microsoft product for that matter. Is there some hidden setting that I need to adjust to make it work? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Gif problem - Firefox plays .gif files at 25 fps

    Why does Firefox play all .gif files at 25 fps? It is very annoying and totally ruins most gifs. Is there any way to fix this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    Looks like your program doesn't have the necessary permissions to obtain a line, or JavaSound isn't supported on "X-Linux"

  • How to Play .wav files in Safari?

    Hi:
    I need a little help.
    I would like Safari to play wav files instead of downloading those file to my Downloads folder. Can this be done.
    Thanks,
    -AstraPoint

    Greetings,
    I would like Safari to play wav files instead of downloading those file to my Downloads folder.
    Can this be done?
    Maybe. First, what is the URL for a .wav file you're trying to play in Safari? I want to test this before I say whether or not it will work.

  • Error Playing .wav file on RHEL 4 using JMF

    Hi,
    We are using jmf api to play wav files on our application deployed on rhel version 4. But we are receiving the following error
    **"Cannot find a Processor for: myfolder/myAudio.wav" --->
    this exception is comming from javax.media.Manager
    throw new NoProcessorException("Cannot find a Processor for: " + source);"**.
    Any ideas what could be issue with this, am I missing some drivers/processor for wav files? I did a default jmf studio installation.
    Thanks and Regards

    If we take a look at the supported formats page...
    [http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/formats.html]
    And the WAV file is supported by the cross-platform pack, AKA, jmf.jar.
    If you're unable to open a WAV file, I'd say it's most likely because you don't have JMF.jar on your library path. You can fix that at runtime with the switch -djava.library.path=<whatever>
    That's what I would say the issue is.

  • HT3775 why can't i play .wmv file in quicktime even after i download codec from windows? can anyone help me wit this please!!!!!

    why can't i play .wmv file in quicktime even after i download codec from windows? can anyone help me wit this please!!!!!

    Have you done the obvious things to try to fix it: quit Quicktime then start it back up again, log out then back in, reboot.
    Edit: Just read one of your later posts. If VLC won't play it, this is unrelated to Quicktime and Flip4Mac. Are you sure these wmv files are okay?
