Does Fireworks CS5.5 come in 64 bit format?

Background:
I was just setting up Acrobat X Pro to use Fireworks as its graphic editor, instead of Photoshop on my win7 64 bit machine.
I looked in the Win 7 Program files where all the 64 bit programs are found, only to find that there were no Adobe files there at all.
They are all in the X86 program file folder - including Fireworks.
So for the last few months I have been thinking that I was running 64 bit software and am not.
Which could well explain why I have had major problems running other Adobe programs.
I now recollect that when I originally installed CS5.5, I was asked if it should be 64 bit or 32 bit, and I selected 64 bit.
However, after the installation failed about 3 times, and was not 100% installed on the final one, it took about 2 days and calls to the help desk to install it so that it worked at all.
It may well be that on the final successful installation, I missed the option to install the 64 bit version, as by this time I was totally fed up with the whole process.
Questions?
Should I :
1. Leave well alone?
2. Delete them and re-install as 64 bit programs
3. Just install the 64 bit version and leave the 32 bit ones hogging disk space?
4. Does the 64 bit version run any quicker or better than the 32 bit one?
I don't want to risk affecting my CS4 version, and I seem to remember getting warnings that to delete CS5.5  would damage my CS4 files - or was it the other way round?
How do I go about it without ending up in a mess, and are there any pitfalls to watch out for?
What would you do? (no rude answers please )

Quote from the Adobe Packaging:
System requirements
.Intel Pentium* 4 or AMD Athlon 64 processor.
While both these processors are capable of running both 32 and 64 bit software, why are they needed if all the suite is 32 bit?
While I do not doubt that you are correct, all the CS5.51 suite including Photoshop are installed in the X86 folder:
Photoshop is also installed in the 64 bit folder all by itself.
So it seems that the only program that actually needs 64 bit architecture is Photoshop,  one of the few programs in the suite that I never use, as Fireworks fills all the needs of normal web graphics. I presume that this is a hint that Fireworks will not be available in future releases.
All very complicated and unexpected.
As to CS4 and CS5 remaining in the same folder, CS5.5 running on a 64 bit system, does not have the capability to code or maintain my existing websites, which are all written in standard asp and use access databases, as are millions of other websites that were written using Dreamweaver. That was never mentioned in the release notes, or many people would not have bothered to upgrade.  I have no choice but to retain CS4 until I have re-written every one, which will not be done in a month or 6!
What is in the release notes, is that to remove CS4 after CS5.5 is installed, will kill the registry entries for CS5.5.
After all the hassle that went into installing CS5.5 in the first place, I don't want to do that again.
If Adobe wrote technically correct software, there should be no problem in uninstalling CS4. Do it at your peril!
Thanks for your input Jim.

But Extension Manager CS5.5 does not show "Fireworks CS5?
    How do i fix this?

    Hi,
    1. Extension Manager CS5.5 is used to manager products of CS5.5. Extensions of Fireworks CS5 can only be managed by Extension Manager CS5, which could be downloaded from below link.
    http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em50_download.html
    2. The '-enable' is used to enable extensions, not product. Fireworks CS5 shall be listed automacially in Extension Manager CS5.
Tell us if you have further problem.
    Thanks,

  • Why does Fireworks CS5 keep resizing images when I paste them?

I am having a problem in Fireworks CS5 where images that are copied and then pasted into a new document automatically re-size and become either very tiny or very large.
I have taken some screenshots to show this more clearly: (this website only allows me to upload images of 450 pixels across so they are not too clear)
Image 1: I have taken a large image and reduced its size to 100x100 pixels (highlighted in red).
Image 2: I have created a new document which is 100x100 pixels in size.
Image 3: I have copied the image from Image 1 (control + C) and then pasted it into Image 2 (control + V). The image was 100x100 and the new image was 100x100 yet when I paste the image it suddenly becomes 313x313 in size and is too large for the new image. Sometimes it becomes tiny when pasted and is too small for the document.
Can anyone help with this matter? Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but I have tried searching for solutions and tried a range of methods (different kinds of copy and paste etc), but nothing seems to help. Please let me know what I am missing!
Thank you for your help! As I said I am using Fireworks CS5. I am using Windows 7. If there is anything else you want to know just let me know.

I don't know what could be causing the copy/paste resizing issue, but here are a couple of ideas that may help with your workflow:
You can create a new document for animation by choosing File > Open..., selecting multiple images, and clicking the "Open as Animation" option. This will place each image file into its own State.
Consider using commands from the States panel fly-out menu—e.g., Duplicate State, Copy to States, etc.—to move objects from one state to another.
Other commands to copy objects within Fireworks include Edit > Duplicate and Edit > Clone. These do not involve the clipboard and may sidestep the resizing problem.
Sometimes with bitmaps, I like to convert them to symbols, as it allows me to resize the bitmap freely without losing the original resolution. (This might introduce extra steps, but it could allow you to correct the image size after it's been pasted incorrectly.)
It's a longshot, but I wonder if it would help to empty the clipboard contents once in a while, to clear out old data.

  • Does Safari 5 come in 64 Bit Version?

I know adobe flash doesn't support 64 bit browsers but I was just wondering if Apple even had a 64 Bit version of Safari available for Windows?
Or is Safari only available in 32 Bit?
    What about Mac OSX?

The answer to the second part of your question is YES. On the Mac OS X 10.5.8 and higher, the Safari browser is a full 64bit app. However, it can still run 32 bit plug-ins because it sandboxes then in 32 bit threads.
Take a look at this screen shot.
    http://gallery.me.com/rorwessels#100033/Screen-20shot-202010-06-18-20at-2019-34- 23&bgcolor=black
What you will see is that the Safari application is 64 bit. Further down you will see another process that is running in 32 bit and sandboxing the Flash Player plug-in.

  • Does Oracle 10g come in 32 bit ?

I am trying to compile my source code shared libraries in Oracle 10g 64 bit. These libraries are not available on 64 bit.
Can I degrade Oracle 10g 64 bit to 32 bit ? I am using Miami library which are proprietary software and not available in 64 bit.

32-bit 11gR2 software for Solaris can be downloaded from My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com), access to which requires a paid Support contract. Same applies to 10gR2 since it now past Premier Support

  • Does mac computers come with microsoft  word format for typing documents my professor only accepts this.

where do i find microsoft word on this mac computer?

If you need Word, buy it from Microsoft. There is probably a student discount.
You don't need Word or any Microsoft bloatware to read and save Word - readable documents.
There are better alternatives, such as Apple's Pages. It will read and save Word formats.
It's $20. If that's $20 too much you can use OpenOffice (free) or NeoOffice (free). All read and save Word documents.

  • Does Photoshop CS5 come with after effects?

Or would I get that separately somewhere else?

Photoshop as an application on its own doesn't come with any other applications with it.  However, you buy or download a trial version of After Effects CS6 from here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=after_effects&loc=en_uk.
    Good luck.

  • Does Photoshop CS5, Elements 8 and Lightroom 3 support Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition?

Does Photoshop CS5, Elements 8 and Lightroom 3 support Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition?  Any issue installing these products on a new PC when I already have it installed on another PC?  I am getting a new PC to replace XP machine I already have.

Yes, Photoshop runs on all editions of Windows 7 as far as I know.
And the Photoshop EULA does give you the option to install and activate the software on a second machine.  Once you no longer need the XP system, assuming it's still functional, just deactivate the Adobe software on it and you'll be able to have the same flexibility again in the future.
If ever you have a licensing agreement question, all the EULAs are online here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/
A side note:  Windows Home Premium may do all you need for now, but keep in mind there is a Windows Anytime Upgrade you can buy in the future that will allow you to move up to a higher edition of Windows 7 later if you should feel you need more features.
This page has some information on that, and also describes the edition differences pretty thoroughly.  I especially like the nice table they've built:

Yes, it's PC only. And it can export a FW file to favicon

    Hi Jim,
yes after I imported my .cr2 raw files into new catalog it started to work. Windows 7 still does not recognize them but I can edit them as you said within the Lr5.6 and then export them into .psd or .dng files...as needed.
I bought Lr5 only because I got present - my new camera Cannon 70D and because my older Photoshop CS5.5 raw plugin does not recognize. cr2 files.
    Many thanks for your help.

  • Import/Open SVG Files in Fireworks CS5!

    Hey,
I really need to import/open SVG files in Fireworks CS5. I have been searching the Web for days now, but I can't find anything. The reason for this is that I get thousands of files sent to me in SVG format that I needto incorporate into my designs made in Fireworks. I solve it today by opening the files in Illustrator, copy each one of them, paste in Fireworks... WTF!
So please tell me someone made this easy for me?
    Many thanks!

I also have this problem. I didnt exatly find a solution, however here's the way i learnt to use .svg without losing editability in Fireworks.
    1. Download Inkscape as suggested by Joyce Evans Erb. Here
    2. Open the SVG file you need to work with in Inkscape.
    3. Go to File > Save As and select .eps (Encapsulated PostScript)
    4. Open the saved .eps file in Fireworks.
Now you might get a bit of unnecessary space around the file but it should work out just fine.
Also, if you havn't already go check out thenounproject.com . It's a great resource for us Fireworks types.
As a final note, i'd just like to plead with Adobe to put a bit more effort into Fireworks. It's a great program that i feel is being dragged along with the suite. (Hope to see some really awesome stuff in Fireworks CS6.5 *wink* )

  • Preview Facebook Social Plugin in Fireworks CS5?

    Hi,
Is it possible to preview Facebook Social Plugins like the "Facepile" in Fireworks CS5 just like you can do with a Google Map?
The HTML for the Social Plugin is:
    <iframe src="//www.facebook.com/plugins/facepile.php?href=facebook.com%2Ftriplapp&amp;size=small& amp;width=180&amp;max_rows=2&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;appId=226945070654759" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:180px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
The HTML for the Google Map is:
    <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.se/?ie=UTF8&ll=61.606396,21.225586&spn=47.644301,129.111328&t=m&z=4&vps rc=1&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.se/?ie=UTF8&ll=61.606396,21.225586&spn=47.644301,129.111328&t=m&z=4&vps rc=1&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">Visa större karta</a></small>
I don't see why the Facebook Social Plugin don't work, but the Google Map does work when previewing in the browser?
    Thanks!

You would need to add it to your page in Dreamweaver and publish the page in order for it to work. Fireworks is not a WYSIWYG editor. Do your markup in Dreamweaver, not Fireworks.
