  • Does Flex support 256 color displays?

    Hi all,
    Does Flex / Flash officially support 256-color displays? I
    can't get the Image control to display any images at all when the
    display is set to 256 colors.
    I've tried PNG, GIF, and JPEG images with monochrome, 16
    color, 256 color, and 24-bit palletes (in every combination the
    formats allow). They *all* work fine if the display is set to
    15-bit color or higher, but *none* of them work if the display is
    set to 256 colors. I would have thought at the very least that the
    Flash player could show a monochrome image on a 256 color display
    Does anyone know if this is a limit in the Flex control, or
    the underlying Flash controls? Could I solve it by using some Flash
    control directly?
    FYI, this the problem exists on both machines that I have
    tested so far. Both using Windows 2000, with both IE7 and FF1.5.
    Any ideas? Thanks!
    Paul

    OK, so this definately looks like a bug in Flex / Flash when
    running on 256 color displays.
    Really simple Flex projects that contain nothing but images
    like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="vertical">
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image2.jpg"
    />
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image3.png"
    />
    </mx:Application>
    Don't show anything at all, but if you throw in a few images
    via a Text control such as:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="vertical">
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src="
    http://domain/image2.jpg"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src ="
    http://domain/image3.png"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src="
    http://domain/image2.jpg"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Text width="450" height="75"><mx:htmlText>
    <img src="
    http://domain/image3.png"
    />
    </mx:htmlText></mx:Text>
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image2.jpg"
    />
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image3.png"
    />
    </mx:Application>
    Then all of the images will appear - all of those embedded
    into the Text controls, as well as those embedded into the Image
    controls. Note, it seems that there needs to be "significantly"
    more Text controls than Image controls for this to work... but I
    haven't really narrowed that down.
    Also, when the Text controls are not used, it seems that
    popping up Alert boxes cause the images to display correctly until
    the dialog box is dismissed, and then the Image controls disappear
    again!
    Finally, I've found that I can get the Image control to work
    reliably (so far) by itself, if I simply set the height or width to
    be at least one pixel less than (not greater than) the real image.
    So, for example, my image is 450 pixels wide, by 75 pixels
    high. So, of the following four Image controls, only the last one
    works!
    <mx:Image source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    <mx:Image width="450" height="75" source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    <mx:Image width="451" height="75" source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    <mx:Image width="449" height="75" source="
    http://domain/image1.gif"
    />
    Once again, all of these behaviours only occur when the
    display is set to a 256 color mode. Everything works as expected on
    15bit+ color modes.
    So, I guess I should file a bug report now?
    Paul.

  • How does Flex support Internationalization?

    I know the mx:Text, mx:Label, mx:TextArea support non-English languages. But do I switch, for example, a mx:Lable's text between two languages.

    flex's resource bundles (RB) aren't like java RB, they're utf-8 text not escaped
    unicode.

    Did you get this figured out because I think I'm having the same problem?  I looked at your two requests and see that the soap envelope values are not the same, which is what is going on with me; that triggers the runtime soap mismatch error.  Is something happening when it runs through a soap proxy (soap server)?

  • The selected Flex SDK does not support building mobile projects

    I am unable to create a new Actionscript Mobile project.  The new project dialogue gives the error: "The selected Flex SDK does not support building mobile projects."  I tried seting the default Flec SDK both to the SDK included with Flash Builder 4.7, and also to a version of the 4.6.0 SDK (build 23201) with AIR 3.3 SDK overlayed on it, which already existed on my computer.  Both resulted in the same error.  Any ideas?

    Hi ,
    Actionscript Mobile projects use AIR SDK by default in Flash Builder 4.7 . Flex SDK won't be used for Actionscript projects.
    Could you please try creating an Actionscript project in fresh workspace and let me know if the issue still exists.
    Also attach screenshot and error log if any.

  • Does Flex HttpService support https with client authentication

    Hi,
    We have a set of backend services available over https with client auth (cert based). We need to use mxml HttpService to access these backend services. Does HttpService support ssl with client auth?
    Another question is, for Https does flex share the browser keystore and certstore or uses its own?
    Thanks,
    Debashis

    Yes , a flex HTTPService can access services on https://.  But if I remember correctly , to use an https:// service , the swf has to be served on an https.  Example ,
    Served from https:// ... --> Can access https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> Can acess https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> CANNOT access https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> CANNOT access https:// ...
    Since Flex has the browser do the connecting , the browser handles the keystore stuff , not Flex. I think.

  • Ever since enabling Soft Delete on one of my tables, the logs are flooded with "... does not support the 'deleted' system property"

    I enabled Soft Delete on one of my Azure Mobile Services tables, and ever since then, the logs are flooded with tons of warnings that say something like this:
    The table 'Section' does not support the 'deleted' system property.
    Is there a way to suppress these warnings, or is it advisable to enable soft delete for all of my tables?
    As a follow on, is there a way to export the logs so that it's easier to peruse through them and search?
    Thanks :)

    Hi
    You can set your logging level in Azure Admin portal to be Error only, so it only logs errors and warnings will be ignored.

  • Does bi support summary tables

    Does bi support summary tables like discoverer.

    Summary tables will be managed in the Logical Table Sources (LTS) for a given logical table, you set the level of aggregation in the content tab against the dimension hierarchy the data is aggregated to.
    The BI Server takes the # elements at each hierarchy level and the # rows in the phyiscal sources to navigate a user query to the most efficient aggregate source. When you go lower than the chosen aggregate table can provide, the BI server automatically routes your query to the next (best) suitable aggregate.

  • Does Flex Builder 3 have support for Soap 1.2?

  • Does TLF support bulleting?

    I have to make a text editor which support arabic, therefore I have to use TLF, but I also need the possibility to use bullets in the text.
    Does TLF support bulleting?
    If yes, how can I apply it?
    If not, when will it support?

    While TLF doesn't support lists yet, you can always "fake" a list using paragraph elements and the bullet character (U+2022). For example, if you are creating textflow XML, you can do something such as:
    <flow:p xmlns:flow="http://ns.adobe.com/textLayout/2008" textIndent="20"><flow:span>• This is a bullet item</flow:span></flow:p>
    I've heard on various developer blogs that lists and tables are on the way, but probably won't become available until after gumbo is released (post-beta). However, since text flow is just a set of components enclosed in a separate SWC file, updates to it might come quicker than every Flex SDK update.

  • Dg4odbc to MySQL update errors: "does not support IS NULL in this context"

    I am having a problem with 'where x is null' clauses in update statements to MySQL from 11g, using dg4odbc. Updates using the clause 'where x is null' return errors like this:
    ORA-02070: database PLAZAHOST does not support IS NULL in this context
    The rejected queries never get to mysql. Furthermore, I noticed that select statements with 'where x is null' show up in the mysql query log with the where clause stripped out, although correct results are returned to SQLPlus. It looks as though 'where x is null' is stripped off by dg4odbc, which subsequently applies a secondary filter to the results received from MySQL.
    Note, both statements above work properly when issued from the MySQL client.
    Has anybody seen this? It's a big problem for me, but I can't find any references to other people having the same problem, so I assume I've got something misconfigured -- but I don't know what.
    I'm using MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver, MySQL 5.1 Community Edition, and Oracle 11g R1 all running on a 32-bit Windows server.
    Thank you -- rick

    is null statement is post processed. This means in case of a select ALL records from the remote database are fetched into the Oracle database and the is null statement is then processed locally in the Oracle db.
    So thze select will work as it is handled internally in the Oracle database. This also means as But "is null" isn't sent to the foreign MySQL db the update clause will fail with ORA-02070: database PLAZAHOST does not support IS NULL in this context
    You need to recode the statement or use passthrough statements.

  • "DBSL does not support extended connect protocol" while configuring SSFS

    Hi, I'm trying to configure ssfs on ERP EHP7 on HANA Database system. Doing it with this guide - SSFS Implementation for Oracle Database
    But when I'm trying to test connection with r3trans I got following error in the log:
    4 ETW000  [     dev trc,00000]  read_con_info_ssfs(): DBSL does not support extended connect protocol
    4 ETW000                         ==> ssfs won't be used                                                   26  0.004936
    I already updated DBSL_LIB to the latest version, but it doesn't help.
    Here is full log:
