Does Free iTunes Mavericks Download To Desktop Without Installing?

In my Mountain Lion App Store "Update Listings", I now have a free offer to download the new Mavericks OS. My question is: Does this iTunes "Mavericks OS" download, download to my desktop first, and then gives me the option to install at my own convience .... or does the "Mavericks OS" download go into installing the new software automatically?
I'd just like to download the new "Mavericks OS", and then have it available for possible future install, after I see how the initial reactions are in a few eeks or so.
Any info or personal experience will be appreciated ...

I contacted apple and they checked and yes the originsl ipad cant support ios 6 - so cant use procreate have also checked the procreate website and it appears they advised itunes of this - ideally there should end up being two versions of procreate - one for ios 5 and one for ios 6 -
dont want to sell the current ipad and get another - at this stage - for the amount of usage it gets not worth the expense

Itunes error Download Only and try installing manually

I cannot update iTunes to v 10.5 I get the error message which I dont understand:
"Errors ocurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually"
I'm currently running iTunes to v 10.4 on a 64 bit PC. Please advise

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Editing iTune Playlists online from desktop (without iPhone) Help?

Hi - so new at this - help!? Long story short - iPhone gone (now have a Droid). I need to get into my music ONLINE (from my desktop) to delete like several 100 songs before I transfer to my new phone. Had no prob transfering thru an app from one to the other but it took EVERYTHING, killing most of my memory and
like said most are trash anyway, so I cleared the new phone to start over. What I wanted and or thought I should or could do was go into Itunes - sign in and then EDIT my music (getting rid of the bad tunes) and then REDOWNLOAD onto my Droid.
But when I get to the itunes store I can sign in to the account fine (on my DESKTOP) but can't seem to get into my music lists???
I don't have the iphone anymore (so I can't connect which before triggered me right to my music lists online) - HELP PLEASE (be so appreciated!)

My Son has an iPhone and we can get his phone to Play my iTunes songs
However on his Phone he gets a message about only playing the songs that are linked to his Apple ID (i.e on his own computer).
Is it possible to "Share" other peoples iTunes Libraries in the way described in this thread ?
Consider me a Newbie outside of iChat.

I have been doing an iTunes update on my desktop now for over an hour and it will not finish. Appears that it wants to finish but no luck.

I'm looking for a solution for this as it is taking TOO long. I also did the new update on my mini ipad this morning, i use it most of the time. I am looking for a way to delete photos that have been imported from emails and such. The new update changed the format and I can't find how to do so. Answers anyone???

Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.

Maverick downloaded but won't install, now wants to download again

Just spent five hours downloading Maverick (for iMac currently running OSX 10.6.8). When download finished there were no instructions on how to install, no buttons, links anything.
It did ask me for an Apple ID (I have several, I think - I don't use them, but Apple keeps prompting me to create them, I am not really clear what they are for). I gave it a valid one, but nothing happened.
I then went back to the download screen and it told me to download the whole thing again.
I couldn't find the download anywhere on my computer. Five wasted hours of precious, narrow bandwidth. Do I really have to do it again? And will it be any different this time?
Frustrated.

I accidentally erased my disk and now need to reinstall OSX Mavericks. I tried downloading the OS through recovery screen and after a while the download stopped (I guess my Internet connectivity was not stable). Now my question is, Can I resume this download ?

Mavericks downloaded, but won't install

I am currently running Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), and I downloaded OS X Mavericks (10.9) from the App Store, but when I try to install it, it makes me go through the license agreement aceptance as well as choosing the disk to install it to. When I accept and select respectively, it shows a screen with a status bar showing the installation progress, and then it restarts the computer automatically. After the restart and once the computer boots up, nothing has changed, meaning that I am still running 10.8.5 because I never have to go through any setup screens for the updated OS. Does anyone have any suggestions or remedies to this problem? I've read some other discussion threads, and they suggest changing some of the code from inside Terminal, but I am not familiar enough with coding to trust myself to do it correctly. Please help!! Found the answer on my own -- it's a problem that occurs if the download for some reason is stopped or interrupted. But in case anyone else runs into this, here's the solution:
1. Go to your Applications folder.
2. Find OS X Mavericks.
3. Double-click on the icon.
4. The App Store will restart the download.
Done.

HELP - FRUSTRATED - iTunes 7 Downloaded but will not install

Hi....I have downloaded iTunes. But when I then run the iTunesSetup.exe to install it, I keep getting the exact same message:
"The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime"
That's it. No error number or further explanation. I have deleted/erased all other versions of QuickTime. I have downloaded, run and installed the QuickTime 7 standalone installer from my hard drive and yet I still keep getting the same message I posted above.
This is going on 3 hours now, and I'm not happy.

let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple Engineers for a look.
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.

Itunes wont download so i can install on my PC

Are you sure the iTunes installer really opens a browser? Then it's not the official iTunes installer. The file you usually download from Apple's website is >50MB and contains iTunes and Quicktime.
Just download directly from Apple.

Does the iTunes Auto-updater Realize the Currently Installed Version is 64?

I installed iTunes64Setup.exe for v7.6 before. ONce installed, there is virtually no way to tell it is the 64-bit version (about iTunes, etc.)
Today the iTunes auto updater alerted me to udpate to v7.7.1. How do I know it recognizes I need the 64-bit version instead of the regular Xp/Vista32 version?

Downloading Reader X without installing

I have been having an unusual problem with Reader 9. Some of my files print out as gibberish even though the screen version is fine. (anyone who can figure out that one...would LOVE to hear from you since no one else has been able to help me with that yet!)
Re-installing it didn't seem to help.
So I thought I'd update to the latest version.
Since I'm on dialup, I went to an internet cafe to get the file and discovered that it downloads directly to the computer making it impossible for me to control where it downloads. WHY? I run into this problem with some other software updates and it is ruddy frustrating since some of us have no choice in how we have to handle things.
Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way I can get the file and specify that it be downloaded to a portable drive. That option seems to be available for the 9 versions. Is it also possible for X and where would I find it? I use WinXP and prefer Firefox but would have to use Internet Explorer at the cafe to download.
Again, I don't know why Adobe makes it so hard to find such files or to download things with more control.

It's totally OK that Adobe offers the Adobe Download Manager as the default way for distributing the Reader.
But like Foresthowlingwolf, I would be very very grateful if Adobe would make the hyperlinks for getting the plain exe-file more obvious!
--> I don't think it would trouble the average user if there would be a small additional link for that purpose.
In the FAQ, Adobe themselves mention that option, but I didn't find it any more.
