Does Gopod v1.4 work on NANO 4gb 2nd GEN?

Just want to know if Gopod will work on my Ipod Nano 4gb 2nd Gen? My Ipod is Australian model or something cause I live in Australa? Anyone else tried Gopod on ther 2nd gen nano?

As of this moment, goPod version 1.4 does not support the nano 2nd gen or the new iPod 5th gen.
But as goPod removes the volume cap imposed by European law, you should not need the use of goPod if your iPod was purchased in Australia.

I am using the iPod Nano 4GB with my new 'Fatman iTube' valve amp and dock.

All works fine (beautiful sound) but only some of the remote control functions work.
Volume and power off/on and treble/bass work fine but the iPod functions like skip and FF and playlists and menu dont work from the remote control.
The company that make the amp (TLA) and the dealer (Audio T) both inform me that this is a common problem with remote controls on 3rd party iPod dock hi-fi systems and that Apple are not revealing when they will issue a software fix.
It only happens with 2nd gen Nanos. All other iPod types talk with these remotes with no problem.
I have been given a temporary 'workaround' by the manufacturer which is OK for now.
Have any of you had similar problems between the 2nd generation Nano and remote controls on 3rd party (non Apple) hifi systems?

My iPod nano 4GB (2nd gen.) battery was great, now its dying within a few hours?

I have a iPod nano 4 GB (2nd gen.) I have had it for years and up till recently the battery was great on it.
For a few weeks now my battery will die very quickly. I will have it fully charged and within 2 hours it will be dead. I have no applications running, just music. Nothing has changed at how I use it, but the battery just does not hold.
I charged it again last night and listened to music for about 30 min when I checked it, the battery was about dead. I gave it a few min. then it said it was half way charged?
I do not have wi-fi or anything on this...just music.
I also checked to make sure its software was up to date which it is. Can it just be the batterys worn out?

Yes. Your iPod's Lithium ion battery will slowly start to lose its ability to retain full capacity over time. Nothing lasts forever. Sorry.

IPod Nano 4Gb (2nd Gen) not detected by Windows or iTunes

I am hoping someone can help me with this as I am at my wits end.
When I plug my iPod into the usb port, it begins the charging process, but neither windows, nor iTunes will detect any new devices. I have tried the 4 R's (the fifth needs a connection with iTunes), putting it into disc mode, and even on 3 different windows computers, but no dice. To save the no doubt normal questions, The usb ports are 2.0, and brand spanking new, which i have tested sucessfully with other usb devices, so I know it's not the usb port. I have the latest drivers & updates installed, and the latest version of iTunes also installed.
Other potentially useful info:
The model is iPod nano 4bg alu 2nd gen
It's not new, i was given it as a gift by a friend who upgraded to the video model.
Though I can't be sure, I suspect that the dock cable isn't an apple product. Given that *very few* places where I live sell official iPod accessories, it is difficult for me to check.
Like I said, i really hope someone can help me, I really don't know how long i can go listening to my friends rather dubious music tastes...

Sporatic response from a 4gb 2nd gen nano

I've had my green nano for about six months. I've had no issues with it until now. All of a sudden, it stopped responding to any command. Menu, Next, Previous, pause, and the click wheel did nothing. So, next, I tried restarting it.. no luck. I then resigned to restoring it. Even after I restored it, it made no sign of recognition. It was stuck on the language select page. So then I tried recharging it on my dock over night. It seems to have helped because the I regained temporary but poor control over the iPod. The clicker made an absurd amount of clicks per each movement and I could open any menu unless I held down to select button and moved the hold button right, arming it in hold mode. Then I could see the Settings folder for example, but it was on hold. The second I took it off of hold, it exited the folder.
I have a suspicion that the iPod's menu button might be stuck down and that is why I can't open any subfolders for more than a 1/2 second.
This is extremely frustrating and I hope that there is help for the iPod.

Slide show does not Play Images Worked on in CS2- 2nd post

I routinely work on Aperture images with CS2...using the external editor command. When I try to play a slideshow with these "worked on" images the Aperture slide show just reverts to the original Aperture Master. Thus I am unable to show the CS2 versions...Is this just a bug?

Have you made the CS2 version the stack pick?
Also, helpful to generate Previews before Slideshow (revised at v1.5 to use them rather than creating an image on-the-fly) so that slideshow doesn't stutter.

Does BT Fon/Openzone work with an ipod touch gen 1...

I am a BT Infinity customer and have opted in to BT Fon. I cannot get my ipod touch gen 1 to work with a BT Fon or Openzone network. I can connect to my BT home hub as well as various friends' networks but for some reason I can't get the BT Fon/BT Openzone to work. It sees the network and in Settings-->Wi-Fi Networks I have deleted the initial 10.xx.xx.xx entry (leaving the "192.168.22.22, 192.168.22.23" with no leading space) and it says it has connected. When I go into Safari and try and enter any URL it says "connecting..." but I do not get the landing page (to enter my details) and it eventually times-out with a "Cannot open Page. Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" message. This even happens when I try and use the BT Fon part of my home hub!
Any ideas why this isn't working? I have tried various BT Fon/Openzone points and none of them work. Any help would be most appreciated!
P.S. I cannot use the BTFON app as it is not compatible with the ipod touch gen 1 (I have the latest version of the ipod gen 1 software which is 3.1.3).

Well, I've tried various networks and various settings and I simply cannot get the ipod touch to work with BT Fon/Openzone.
I have to say I'm very disappointed with this - it was a toss-up for me to join either Virgin Media or BT Infinity and the only thing that swung it was the opportunity to use BT Fon/Openzone points when out and about. I think I've made the wrong choice as it is pretty useless to me now.
Also, the BT Fon website claims that in the area where I work there a lots of BT Fon/Openzone networks but I spent an entire lunchtime walking around with my ipod checking the available networks and only found two - both with fairly weak signals that occasionally disappear and reappear. Anyone else noticed this too?
I'm fairly sure it's not my ipod as it will happy connect to my homehub from the bottom of my garden which is around 30 metres away from the hub.

Ipod Nano 8GB (2nd Gen.) problem

My Ipod freezes the second i disconnect it from the computer (I mean the cable) and the only way for me to turn it back on is to reconnect it to the computer.
I have tried "The 5 R's" and they didn't work either. Any one have some ideas about it?

Definitely sounds like your iPod's battery is dead especially if you have left it to charge for such a long period of time. You may want to double check this article first through to make sure you have tried everything.

You can have Apple replace it for you for a very hefty price, a third party repair company for much less such as [iresq|http://www.iresq.com>, or you can even do it yourself if you wish.
Or simply look into getting a new iPod if you wish.

How does one delete specific photos from ipod touch 2nd gen (with ios 4.2.1)?

I would like to delete some photos from my ipod touch 2g, ios 4.2.1, but I can't just sync it to my (new) computer because then all of them would get deleted because I don't have the photos that I have on my ipod on my new computer. Help!?

- You can use a third-party like PhoneView or TouchCopy (both paid) and maybe the free
iFunBox for Mac | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transferer for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Wont turn on even with full battery, it turns on after i disconnect it from my laptop but for some reason i wont respond after a few hours of it being off. could this be a software problem if it turns on after being connected to a power source but wont respond after a few hours????? please help as i bought this on ebay and need to know if i need to report it. thanks

Try restoring it if you can connect it to iTunes.

Why does my WindowsXP shut down when myiPod Touch 2nd gen 8gb is connected?

I originally posted this as a topic, but not sure now if that was the right way to go about finding a solution...I'm new here, pardon me.
So,
Everything was operating fine for the first day I was using my new iPod Touch. on the second day, I think I might have disconnected my iPod too soon? The iPod itself is currently operating normally, as is my PC however, every time I connect it to my PC/iTunes, the PC shuts down, then goes to the HP blue screen- the one that gives the "Esc, F1 and F8" options.
I restart and Windows says it has recovered from a serious error and wants to send the report.
PC runs ok until re-connection w/Ipod. Weird, eh? Can someone please help me?

Usually, this indicates a driver conflict or USB port conflict. See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
If you have anything else connected via USB try disconnecting it and syncing.

2/3 Of my 4GB Ipod Nanos (2nd gen), wont sync movies.

So yeah I have three 4GB 2nd gen Ipod nanos, and two of them refuse to sync movies, and have trouble syncing music most of the time as well.
When I try to sync a movie it says syncing Ipod for about 5 seconds then says sync complete, which isnt true...Ive looked through all the support FAQ and whatnot, and find it extremely difficult to find anything helpful.

Check your settings for syncing movies with those iPods and make sure you are allowing already watched movies to by synced.

New ipod nano 2nd gen. not loading onto windows or itunes

I just got an ipod nano 2gb 2nd gen. (refurbished from apple). I updated my former version of itunes (my daughter has a 1st gen. nano, so she's been using itunes with her's with no problems..) to the latest version like the quick start guide says. Plugged in the ipod to the usb port on the back of the computer and the setup wizard pops up, asking to install the software for the device. I try letting it auto search, which it finds nothing, and I get a message saying "your new hardware may not work properly.....". I checked the device manager and the ipod is listed under "other devices" with a question mark by it. I checked to make sure my daughters 1st gen. nano works with the updated itunes and it does with no problems. Now what?

We plugged it in, followed the instructions but the Nano was not recognised by my PC, however, my nano does get recognised on my husband's pc. I would bring it back to the Apple Store and have them test it out on one of their one machines to see if it'll work or not there.
