Does Guitar Rig 3 work in Garage Band v1?

Under mac osx 10.4 (G5 with dual 2.5 cpus), I can select Guitar Rig as an AU but then Garage Band crashes.
One time it crashed, I chose 'Try Again' and when I selected the Guitar Rig, the GR interface came up without the amp profiles (which I manually imported); it still bugged out and did not produce any sound or work at all.
Should I upgrade my os to 10.4.11 and get the new iLife '08 for the latest Garage Band. I really love the Guitar Rig. I had the Mesa Recording pre-amp and the sim sounds 'exactly' like it.
TIA

In what way?

  • Does airport express work with garage band in lion?

Actually I know it can work and there are apps out there to make it work but I heard a rumor that Apple was going to allow functionaliy between the two in Lion. So my question is...
Will Airport Express work with Garage Band in Lion or do I have to buy third party software?

I believe the HP 2840 can be connected either via Ethernet or USB. If connected to the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) by USB, only the basic printing functions will be shared out; the scanning, faxing, copying features are not supported.
If the AX is configured so that its Ethernet port is enabled, the it may be possible to gain all of the printer's features by connecting it to the AX by Ethernet. In this case, the printer will use its own Print server to share out all of these features.

  • Audio INTERFACE that works with Garage Band??

Any suggestions for a good inexpensive audio interface? Fast Track is awful.... Something about 250 or under?
Want to plug guitar into device, device into MAC - and lay down tracks.

Do the second two in the top row work with Garage Band
there isn't such a thing as "working with GB", if it works on a mac it will work with GB
    and ProTools?
i know very little about protools, though they tend to be more proprietary
can we plug them in (to guitar and MAC) and roll?
    yes
    Or is a mic needed??
"needed", no. there are both 1/4" as well as XLR jacks, as you can see in the pics. you can use either.

  • I can't get background audio to work in garage band 1.3 ios6.1 .also no options in settings to turn it on?

I can't get background  audio to work in garage band 1.3 iOS 6.1 also no option in settings to turn on or off?

I had the same problem, try this:
In your home directory, go to Library/Caches/
(make sure you are in the library in your home directory, not the library at the root level of the hard disk).
    and remove this file: com.apple.audiounits.cache
You can drag it to your desktop if you like or throw it away.
Then relaunch garage band, it will rescan all audio units.
If you have the Kontakt audio unit installed in YourHardDiskName/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components it should recognize it and include it in your list. You can toss that cache file any time you want Garage Band to rescan your audio units.
I had a problem with Kontakt on an upgrade that broke it, GarageBand saw it and put Kontakt on its list of broken Audio Units, it would never load it after that... after a new rescan, it was fine.
    Good luck

Are you trying to transfer the GarageBand projects or the rendered audio files? What version of GarageBand do you have on your iPhone?
I do not think you can share your GarageBand projects from your iPhone to GarageBand on your Mac, unless you have iCloud, afaik, only the audio files.
How did you transfer the song?
To share from an IOS device the Projects or audio files, see:  Share GarageBand songs

  • Soundtrack Pro, with Logic Studio. app will not work, while Garage Band is present on my iMac?

Still new to Logic Pro. Got the Soundtrack Pro when i bought the Logic Studio. am i to understand that this app will not work, while Garage Band is present on my iMac?
if this is true, i'd welcome any suggestions.  do i have to delete GarageBand on current machine which has Logic Pro?
    appreciate any help
    thanks,

My MacPro w/ OSX 10.6.8 runs GarageBand, SoundtrackPro and Logic 9 (Express) without issues.
Everything was installed fresh - ie no overwrite OS upgrades and no app version overwrite upgrades.
Just so we are clear - an UPGRADE would be from OSX 5 to 6 or from Logic 8 to 9 and involves a purchase. UPDATES are those decimal increments - 10.6.7 to 10.6.8  or Logic 9.1.3 to 9.1.6 that are free.
Sometimes the sequence of installs can make a difference.
    Good luck,

  • Computer Interface (That works) for Garage band?

Hello All...I am new to G/B-I am wanting to record (sperate) tracks (at the same time) in G/B. I think 8 channels would be perfect, that way I can record varoius drums, a bass and a guitar at the same time. Then I can record other real instruments later, one at a time. I have seen a slew of computer interfaces to acomplish this task, however i would like to purchase one that (I know) (will work) well in garage band. Could any of you vetren G/B producers advise me as to what 8 channel audio interface you use with G/B (that works well) for you? And should it be a firewire or USB based one? I tried a friends (a 8 channel Behringer mixer with a USB, but i could get my mac to recongnize the mixer?
Thanks so much for any response
    Steve

I Use the PreSonus FireStudio Mobile. http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=58
The FireStudio Project also works. http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=43
If you have a FireWire input then use it for your interface rather than USB.

  • Yamaha KX61 USb MIDI keyboard doesn't work in Garage Band

I have installed latest Yamaha USB-MIDI driver V1.2.0 for Yamaha KX61.
I have connected USB cable to Mac Mini and turned the keyboard on.
In Other section of System Preferences I can see an icon for Yamaha USB-MIDI. In there I can see Device Name: Yamaha KX.
Yamaha KX61 is visible in Audio MIDI Setup utility under Midi Devices tab with Port 1, 2 and 3.
In GarageBand application Audio/MIDI preferences it shows "3 MIDI inputs detected" but Audio Input gives 2 choices only: System Setting and Built-In Input.
When I turn Keyboard off, Garage Band responds with message "The number of MIDI inputs has changed. Now no input is available." And then it shows MIDI status: 0 MIDI Input(s) detected.
When I turn Keyboard on, Garage Band responds with message "The number of MIDI inputs has changed. Now 3 inputs are available." And then it shows MIDI status: 3 MIDI Input(s) detected.
I don't understand how to get the keyboard play with Garage Band when adding new software instrument tack.
If anybody able to use KX61 in Garage Band, please share your experience.

Hope its ok to answer you own question.
Just buy the Apple "Lightning to usb camera adapter".  Plug it into the ipad 4 and plug your usb male A cable from the midi keyboard into it and fire up the apps.  Works fine--I just tested it.  You must have a keyboard or other usb device that requires very little or no power from the usb port in order to work.  Also, it must not require a usb driver.  See iosmidi.com/devices for a list of devices that should work.
A lot of investigation (not on any apple site) allowed me to glean out this information.

  • HELP. CAN'T GET KNOTACT 2 TO WORK IN GARAGE BAND 08.

    Hey All,
First time poster here. According to the Kontact 2 manual, it should be stupidly simple to use Kontact 2 in Garage Band 08. Just create a track, go to the "Sound Generator," click on "Kontact 2," and play. Great! Bottom line, I never see "Kontact 2" in the sound generator. I've reinstalled, called both Apple and Native Instruments and no one has any answers.
Has anyone run into this problem with not having the Kontact 2 AU plug-in show up in Garage Band 08? It's driving me crazy to have to play Kontact 2 out of one computer into an input of Garage Band on another computer. It's ridiculous.

  • Will ensoniq vfxsd work with garage band?

I recently dusted off an Ensoniq synthesizer and am trying to use it with G-band. I have the midi out from the keyboard going into a midisport 2X2 and then a USB from midisport to my mac. When I open G-band I see that the midi is detected, but it doesn't appear as one of the input choices. Should it?
Or what else might be wrong?
    thanks,
    Karen

I think what's happening is that the keyboard is not being properly recognized by the interface.
i'm not a MIDI expert, but as far as i know, MIDI is MIDI, and has been a standard format for a rather long time.
So my computer sees the midi interface, but doesn't know what device is connected to it.
the computer would never know what is connected to the interface, that's the idea of an interface. the computer only sees that connected to itself.
I guess I'll just patch the audio outputs from the ensoniq into my little iMIC
that will definitely work, but the MIDI connection should work too, it woudl be ncie to know why it's not

  • How does one MAKE a LIBRARY for GARAGE BAND to IMPORT?

I have been looking for some kind of SDK that would allow the creation of a library for GB and allow the sharing of libraries that multiple production teams can use.

So then your question is: How do I script an Installer (?)
More often than not, companies simply create a Disk Image because all you need to install a group of loops is to drop their folder on the GB Loop Browser. That's it.
The Jam packs install a lot more than just loops, so an Installer is required. Adding loops is so simple it's generally hard to justify the extra effort and man power.
However, if you really want to go through the extra effort, and for whatever reason, your project actually requires it, then you might want to become an ADC member:
