Does he use of my internal mic degrade the performance of Dragon three dictate
Does using my internal microphone of my MacBook Pro 2008 degrade the performance of my new Dragon dictate three.? It seems to work fine.
I don't think it would degrade dragon dictate software. I've been using dragon naturally speaking for windows on my pc for several years and when I did not have my mic handy I would use the laptop's internal mic with no problems except for a little reduced accuracy. But everything would be back to normal once I switched back to my mic.

Go to System Preferences Sound Input and adjust the volume level down by dragging the slider to the left. With an audio app like Logic there is an option for input monitoring when recording so there might be a feedback loop if the volume is set too high. Garage Band works in a similar way. Always be careful when using headphones as the noise can be frightful and cause hearing damage.

the 3d features require 'use graphics processor' is enabled in the performance preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly
Hello I'm also getting this error.. can anybody help me out? Here's my log.

If adding more in-params to the stored proc degrade the performance at all?
Hi All,
I have a stored proc, currently having 18 in-params and i have to add 4 new in-params. I just want to know, if there will be any performance degradation or not?
Thanks & Regards
--DevBilly,
How can i deviate from the SW engr. concepts? I'm not from Mars. I just want to know, if there will be any perf. degradation, what is the cause behind that? What are the technical events occured inside the pl/sql compiler that degrades the performance.

Does importing use computer's internal memory?
I'm having an issue with Lightroom when I import pictures. When I import them into Lightroom from an SD card it is using my computers internal memory, is this supposed to happen? After I edit the pictures and export them as the new pictures, I remove them from Lightroom but any internal memory that was taken up by the importing process is not put back. Anyone have any suggestion on this?
Something else that you need to understand. When you import images into Lightroom, Lightroom doesn't engulf them and store them in some mysterious place that is in addition to where your images are located on your hard drive. The import process allows you to tell Lightroom where to put new images imported from a card. Then, when importing, the images are placed in that folder and Lightroom simply points to that folder. When you import images that are already on your computer, Lightroom just creates a pointer to where they are located. There is no additional copy made.
As you work on your images in Lightroom the adjustments are stored in the catalog. When you display an image in Lightroom that you have worked on previously Lightroom reads the catalog and applies the adjustments that you have made to that image. Consequently you see the "corrected" results. If you decide to remove images from the catalog then Lightroom forgets all about the image and any adjustments you have made. You are left with the original image, in its original state. And if you want a corrected copy again then you have to start all over. -
Does Equium L40-156 supports internal mic
Hi.
We have a laptop Equium L40-156.
We have problem with a microphon!
We can hear people who are calling us (by Skype) but they can't hear us.
Is it possible that we don't have a microphon inside a laptop?
Or is it something wrong with setting?Thak youDid you check the microphone device in the Skype options?!
What device was chosen?
In my opinion this notebook was not equipped with the internal mic. You will need an external one! -
Win 8 - How to use StereoMix and Headphones Mic at the same time?
I am using Windows 8 64 bit and believe I may have an IDT driver problem.
I need to enable StereoMix and my Headphones Mic at the same time. I know this was previously possible with windows xp and windows 7.
What happens is If I enable either Headphones Mic (Logitech headphones with Mic) or StereoMix the other one becomes " current;ly unavailable" I cannot get them both to work together. I can get StereoMix and the Internal Mic to work together ( both enabled at the same time) but the sound quality is bad because the internal mic picks up noises from the PC. I need to have both my headphones mic and stereo mix enabled at the same time.
The driver I'm using is the one provided by HP with the laptop. It is called sp59620.exe
Would another IDT driver solve the problem? Can you think of another reason this is not working?
Here are my specs.
System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion G7-2251dx
OS Windows 8 64 bit
CPU AMD A-8 4500M
Memory 8 Gigabytes DDR3 sdram
Graphics Card Discrete ATI Radeon HD 7640G with 2 Gigs
Sound Card IDT Audio
Monitor(s) Displays 17.3
Screen Resolution 1600x900
If you cannot help, where else should I look? i have tried Windows and Microsoft forums and no one can give me an answer.
Thank you.I have tried the instructions in that video and I cant get passed the very bad feedback i get when telling my recording device to Listen. His secone instruction from his notes here
["Right Click the Realtech HD audio device and set as default if its not already.
(note you may want to turn off any powered speakers you may have to prevent feedback.)
-Select the Recording Tab at the top of the window.
-Select the Stereo Mix device and set it to default if its not already.
-Right click and select Properties.
-Select the Listen Tab at the top of the window.
-Change the drop-down box to the entry for USB headset and check the Listen to this device checkbox.
-click ok to dismiss the window.
-Right click on the USB headset microphone device and select properties.
-Select the Listen Tab at the top of the window.
-Change the drop-down box to the entry for the Realtech HD Audio device and check the Listen to this device checkbox.
-click ok to dismiss the window.
So, essentially, the game audio will play through the Realtec, your mic is also set to play to the Realtec. both audio streams are now part of Stereo Mix. Stereo Mix is being listened to by your headset allowing you to hear the game and your voice.]

Don't know about turning off any powered speakers.. the only speakers I have besides the headphones are the internal laptop speakers. I get the same feedback if i have the headphones plugged in or not. -
Can you mute the internal mic on the iPad 2?
Is there a way to mute the mic on the iPad but still use a clip on mic?
No, I don't think that is possible.

I purchased an IPhone 4 yesterday and I have already used 73.81 mb of my 200 mb. I have only read my emails and downloaded one game from App Store. Does it use MB everytime I play the game? does it use mb the whole time I am on my emails. What uses MB?
Playing a game probably won't use much, if any... Downloading all those cool games and apps could have easily used that up, however.
Use WiFi whenever you can or download apps to your computer, then sync them to the phone with the cable. -
How much data does iMessage use to text internationally?
I have a friend in France n I live in Hawaii, and I'd like to know how much data it uses to text there cause I have a limited data plan and I don't want to go over >_<
A single iMessage uses so little data you'd have to send about a thousand just to notice. Each character in an iMessage uses about 0.1 bytes and there are over a billion bytes in a gigabyte. Also it doesnt matter where you are sending it because it goes over the internet. It will be the same where ever.
Hope this helped! -
I have windows 7 with 64 bit. Does Firefox use 64 or 32 bit for the browser?
I have tried the plug in update and it tells me that Java needs to be updated but I am not sure if Firefox is using 64 or 32. Please advise.
I'm not a developer, I'm a hardware/ OS guy so I'm sure my question will get me a lot of eye rolls. but I know personally I've been monitoring the progress of 64 bit browsers especially Firefox, and Mozilla has had multiple versions of a 64 bit browser, the most recent I believe WAS version 8, but now that version 8 will be the next major upgrade, Version 10 is going to be the version released with a full feature 64 bit version.
OK OK I'll get to the point. Why is 64 bit such a huge problem for mozilla that it keeps getting delayed... over... and over... and over? We're talking over several years. Im sure it's a valid reason but being a hardware guy, after a couple years of the same pattern, I finally have to ask. I'm mean even Adobe has beat you to the world of 64 bit with their version of flash. And that's saying something because they were really dragging their feet. (for the record firefox is my browser of choice hence my inquiry) -
Does Audit Trail degrade the performance on 11g ?
Oracle 11g DB actually turns on standard audit trail function via DBCA.
Could anybody know how the negative impact for this function is ?
Is there any reference (Almost 5% perfermance impact )?
Thx so much.Watami, reading your post reminded me that 11g comes with a set of default privileges automatically set up for auditing. Since the privileges are pretty much DDL and you should not be performing very much DDL on a production database I would think the overhead would be almost too low to measure.
For those unware of this feature change or who have forgotten like me here are the default audit privileges:
Oracle Database audits the following privileges by default:
ALTER ANY PROCEDURE CREATE ANY LIBRARY DROP ANY TABLE
ALTER ANY TABLE CREATE ANY PROCEDURE DROP PROFILE
ALTER DATABASE CREATE ANY TABLE DROP USER
ALTER PROFILE CREATE EXTERNAL JOB EXEMPT ACCESS POLICY
ALTER SYSTEM CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK GRANT ANY OBJECT PRIVILEGE
ALTER USER CREATE SESSION GRANT ANY PRIVILEGE
AUDIT SYSTEM CREATE USER GRANT ANY ROLE
CREATE ANY JOB DROP ANY PROCEDURE
Oracle Database audits the following SQL shortcuts by default:
ROLE SYSTEM AUDIT PUBLIC SYNONYM
DATABASE LINK PROFILE SYSTEM GRANT HTH -- Mark D Powell --

First, the internal mic will never appear in Device Manager, it's just a part of the Realtek internal sound card configuration. Right click on the speaker icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen, left click on 'Recording devices', if you can see the 'Microphone, Realtek High Def Audio' device, right click on that, if it is disabled left click on 'Enable', if you see 'Set as Default Device' left click on that. Now try your mic again.
If you do do not see the mic, or anything in 'Recording devices', right click on a blank part of its box, left click on 'Show Disabled Devices' and on 'Show Disconnected Devices', so that the check mark is on both of these. Try the above paragraph again.
If none of the above works, try a system reset. Power off the laptop, unplug the AC from the unit, remove the battery, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds, replace the battery and AC, power on, as soon as you see the Toshiba logo, press the 'F2' key to enter the BIOS Setup, in setup press 'F9' to load setup defaults, press 'F10' to save and exit, and then boot into Windows, and see if the mic is working again.
If this doesn't work, we need the version of Windows you're using, like Windows 7 64bit edtion.
Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

I can use Skype without any issue with my MBAir, but as soon as connect using facetime, my internal mic loses it sensibility (I've tracked it under the Preferences/Sound/Input). After disconecting, I can see that the mic starts functioning normally again.

you should be able to set it with the input slider in the Track "i"nfo pane
