Does iBooks for Mac not sync with iBooks for iOS?

I just created an iBook in iBooks Author, exporting to a created iBooks file, but yet is all pointless, as I cannot seem to share it with anybody - not even with myself!  Trying to get it on my iOS device, I'm frustratingly unable to do so.
I am able to open it on my Mac with iBooks, but that's it...  I tried to sync it to my iPhone by old school hardwiring it to my Mac to sync, but can't get my iBook even into iTunes in order to have it sync!
What's the whole point of the thing if you can't share what it is you created with anyone?!

yup, I have the same thing, i can't see Book on itunes, when i upgrade 10.9. How should i do to sync ibook,
Please help, many thanks

    why does my iphone 3gs not sync with contacts?  In fact it loses contacts during syncing.
    In Itunes it is set to automatically sync to the laptop and in info sync contacts is checked and all contacts are checked.

    On my Mac Pro, contacts and Thunderbird contacts are synced.  I want my Iphone to sync with the Contacts on the Mac Pro.  Incidently I am not using Icloud.  Is that the problem?

  • Mac not syncing with iPhone/iPad

    Can someone help me?  My Mac is acting up.  Over the past 3 days, I have not been able to get my Mac to sync with my iphone or ipad like I have in the past.  When I open up my calendar on Mac, it says it cant be refreshed and won't let me do a thing until I force it to quit.  I input things on my reminders and notes on my Mac but it won't show up on my other 2 devices.  But if I put stuff on my iphone/ipad it will show up on my Mac!? I've tried updating, shutting down, connecting with a USB.  I don't know what else to do.  I really don't want to have to delete all my stuff because its a lot!  Help please!

  • HT204150 Contact(s) on my iMac NOT syncing with my other IOS devices.

    I can create/modify/delete a contact via iCloud using Safari on my iMac and/or my iPad and/or my iPhone and all sync fine with each other - including the new Contact showing up in my "Contacts" on my iMac.
    BUT when I create a new Contact on my iMac it does NOT sync with my other devices.
    My iMac is running the latest version of Mountain Lion (10.8.5), my default account on my iMac is iCloud (and also default on my IOS devices).
    Also I cannot delete a contact in my Contact list on my iMac.
    I have tried logging out of iCloud Contacts and logging back in, restarting my iMac etc. nothing I tried fixes my issue!
    HELP!
    Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

    Make sure you are changing contacts in the iCloud account and not On My Mac or someting else, as it is the only accoun that will sync with iCloud.  If you are and you haven't tried, add any missing contacts from your Mac to your contacts on icloud.com, then sign out of your account, then sign back in.  Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in icloud), restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  Your iCloud data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in, after a brief delay as it redownloads.

  • Mac not synced with iCloud (iPad/iphone)

    Nothing is synced with the new install of ML.  I've updated apps, made sure i'm signed in icloud but i can't seem to get anything to work.
    EX: when i click on the cloud icon near the address bar, it just says that it will show open tabs on other iOS devices.  i have open windows, but it doesn't work
    Also, Pages is fully updated, but when i make a change on my mac, it will not show up on my ipad.
    any suggestions?  what did i miss?
    thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
    Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone'  or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

  • OSX Calendar NOT Syncing with iCloud BUT iOS Devices DO

    So to set the scene....
    I have an early 2009 iMac running Mountain Lion.
    I have 2 x iPhone 4's running iOS 5.1.1.
    I have 1 x iPad (1st Gen) running iOS 5.1.1
    I use to keep mail, contacts and calendar in sync between all the devices using MS Exchange. I recently switched this to iCloud.
    All the Calendars I have are all iCloud (so NO local calendars).
    Mail syncs without any issue.
    Contact syncs without any issue.
    Calendar syncs have an issue with iMac syncing to iCloud.
    To be clear...the following Calendar syncs DO work:
    iPhone #1 --> iCloud
    iPhone #2 --> iCloud
    iPad --> iCloud
    iCloud --> iPhone #1
    iCloud --> iPhone #2
    iCloud --> iPad
    iCloud --> iMac
    Whereas the following Calendar sync DOESN'T work:
    iMac-->iCloud
    What's even stranger is that if I...
    Switch off Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Close calendar
    Wait 5 minutes
    Switch back on Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Open calendar
    ...then the iMac-->iCloud syncing WILL work for a few hours. After a few hours it will stop syncing.
    Thanks for reading. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ben

    Since this post has had no replies, thought I'd comment to see if anyone can answer the above question.  I have the same problem with one exception.  The part that is not syncing is from iCloud to my iMac.  All other sync paths work between my iphone, ipad, and iMac.  If anyone has a fix for this, please share.

  • IBooks PDF added on my Mac not syncing with my iOS devices.

    hi there
    I am running 10.9.1 on my MacBook pro, and iOS 7.0.4 on my iPhone 5s, and I have set iBooks to manage the books/etc.   If I create a new category on the Mac it appears very quickly on my iPhone but the PDF's never appear.
    What am I doing wrong??
    any help would be appreciated

    Hi!
    I had the same problem for weeks. Today I decided to solve this. After try a lot of stuff I got it working. Follow these steps:
    1) Sync your iPhone to iTunes using the cable;
    2) After sync is complete, on iTunes, click on your iPhone, and after in the tab Books;
    3) Un-select the option "Sync Books" (I don't know how it appears in english, since my iTunes is in portuguese). iTunes will inform that will delete all books from yout phone. Make sure you have all of them in you iBooks for Mac or another backup;
    4) Sync your iPhone to iTunes using the cable again;
    5) After sync is complete, on iTunes, click on your iPhone, and after in the tab Books
    6) Mark "Sync Books" again and select "All Books" option.
    7) Click the blue "OK" button on the top-right corner;
    8) Sync again. After that all your PDF books from iBooks for Mac will appear on you iPhone.
    Best regards,
    Marco

  • Desktop manager for mac not syncing with calendar

    Desktop manager just started to give me a sync error yesterday when syncing the calendar. I receive no error message for the contacts. I use desktop manager for mac. I have never had this issue before. I updated desktop manager yesterday after the sync error but, that did not correct the problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the reply yancy.
    What error message are you receiving?  Are you only synchronizing to Ical or Entourage?
    Also have you attempted to forget the device and the re-setup the synchronization?
    To forget the device, go into Device>Forget Device.  Unplug the BlackBerry, plug it back into the Mac.
    I look forward to your reply.

  • Desktop manager for Mac not syncing with iMac

    Tried this earlier in the year and lost all contacts out of my Blackberry Tour. Tried again today and DM for Mac doesn't recognize any of the iCal calendars I have on the iMac and gives me a sync error when trying to sync Addressbook.
    Running OS 10.5.8 on iMac; v5.0.0.732 on Tour.

    Hey scoopmassad,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Can you clarify what the error message is that you're receiving?
    Also what version of BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac are you currently using?  To download the latest software go to: www.blackberry.com/desktop
    Also have you tried to Forget Device and then re-setup the synchronization with the BlackBerry.  Go to Device>Forget Device at the top of BlackBerry Desktop Software.
    I look forward to your reply.

  • Music from iTunes on MAC not syncing with iPAD2.

    I have had an IPAD2 for 18 months and have had no problem synchronising with iTunes until recently.
    I'm not if the problem started when I moved from using a PC to a MacBook Pro Retina for iTunes, or when I did the last iOS upgrade on my IPAD.
    Here's the issue...
    I connect my iPAD to the Mac using the USB cable.
    The iPAD is recognised in iTunes and I can select it.
    All synchronisation automaticaly works fine (Photos, Apps, Other) except the Music.
    I select the Music tab on iTunes and Sync Music is selected.
    If I select "Entire music library" or "Selected playlists, artists...", then the blue bar in the Capacity diagram appears to indicate the volume of Music.
    I select Apply. The sync process starts.
    At the end of the sync process, which does not try to sync the Music, the blue Audio part of the Capacity bar dissapears and I have no Music on my iPAD.
    Can anyone help?

    OK - I maaged to work it for myself and it is embarrassingly simple....
    When I moved from having iTunes on my PC to having it on my MacBook Pro I decided to keep the ITunes library on a network shared storage rather than on one machine.
    What had happened is that the shared storage drive had been disconnected from the network. iTunes on my Mac was still listing all the Music and even calculated how much of my iPAD capacity the tracks that I wanted to synchronise would take. But when I tried to synchronise it couldn't find the tracks, so nothing was copied to the iPAD.
    Of course it would have been useful for an error message to pop-up stating that the media couldn't be found, but there you go. With the network storage now connected all is working fine again.

  • Text Shortcuts on Mac not syncing with iOS Devices

    It appears that my iOS devices are syncing text shortcuts, because when I add/remove one from one device, it's replicated on the other devices.
    However, text shortcut changes made on my Mac ( Macbook Air, latest Mavericks version ) are not replicated to the iOS devices, and vice-versa.  It's like my iPad and iPhone have decided to share with each other , and ignore my Mac.
    I tried deleting the com~apple~Textinput folder, but that did not have any effect. I also tried turning iCloud off and on on my Mac, and that did not help, either.
    Ideas on how to fix this?

    I figured it out, I turned off Document syncing on all devices, then deleted the ~Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~TextInput folder instead of the subfolders that I deleted the first time, Then  I turned document syncing back on (warning , all text shortcuts are gone! ) on my Mac, and then on my iOS devices.
    It took a few minutes for my devices to catchup, but they all went to zero text shortcuts, and I was able to create a new text shortcut on each device and have it replicate to the other devices.
    While this fixed my problem, it's a good idea to back up your text shortcuts to another program( evernote? ) in case you need to do what I just did to fix a syncing issue.

  • Ipad and mac not syncing with icloud

    I am unable to sync my photos and contacts from my ipad with my Mac through icloud. The ipad and mac both have the latest update.

    For icloud email on your device, you must have icloud turned on, but also have the Mail app set up to connect to icloud.  In Settings>Mail, Contacts,...  look in the Mail section under Accounts.  You must set up your icloud email account there in order to use the Mail app to read and send emails.

  • New mac not syncing with my iphone

    here's the deal....
    i have an iphone 3g and i just got a new macbook bc my previous one died..i dont have access to any information on it....
    im trying to sync my iphone with my new computer...my main concern is my contacts and my music....ive synced my contacts with no problem but syncing the music is giving me problems....
    i connect my iphone and press the "sync" button on itunes but nothing happens....is there a way to merge my music from my iphone onto my new macbook???

    You need a USB to USB computer transfer cable from the computer store, and Mac has a program by spotlighting "Transfer".
    edit: As you said your old computer died, the computer store can attempt to recover the old files or if your an IT, you can do it.
    edit2: Another method - http://theappleblog.com/2009/02/26/sync-iphone-ipod-with-multiple-computers/

  • Numbers Mac not syncing with iCloud (file status Waiting)

    Anyone else having this problem?
    Created a new document in Numbers on my MBP. Saved to iCloud but the status remains as 'Waiting'.
    I've unchecked and checked documents in the System Preferences/iCloud to try to reset but no joy. Don't seem to be able to force an update and it's definitely not showing up in iCloud (web or on my phone).
    Give up or persist?
    Thanks

    I am having the same problem on my iMac.  It was suggested to me to switch from my wired connection to my wireless connection.
    When I did that, all of my documents became synced!
    Just to make sure that my wired connection isn't blocking iCloud traffic, I switched back to my wired connection and everything works fine.
    If, however, I restart the computer or log out, I have to do the whole process again. (Switch from wired to wireless and then back to wired.)
    I am chalking this up to a .0 release.  Maybe this will be addressed in 10.8.1.
