Does iCloud automatic downloads apply to previously bought apps?
For example, if I have deleted an app off all my devices, do I need to go into purchase history on each device to download it again, or is there a way to automatically download it to all devices?
Does automatic downloads only apply to "new" purchases?

Audiobooks are a one-time only download, they will only download onto the device/computer that you buy them on - they won't show in iCloud nor automatic downloads nor in iTunes Match (Match is music only).
If you downloaded them on your iPad then they should be in its Music app, you will get an Audiobooks option in the app when you have audiobooks in it. If they are still on your iPad then you can copy them from there to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to your iPhone.

We have this problem as well. Unfortunately after years of only supporting IE and finally rewriting our site to be standards compliant we are going to have to force users back to IE because of this issue. It's not feasible for us to walk users through changing the default viewer. The default should stay Adobe (if installed) until a more robust native version is available. I understand you want to promote free and open tools but if they don't work, it's just not good enough.

Why does Safari automatically download files? I want option to download or not. I didn't think it used to automatically download. But now every time I click on a file that has been sent to me it does give me an option to view or not..it just automatically downloads it. Any suggestions?

Safari has always done this. Maybe in the past you had a third-party application installed that did this for Safari.

For more immediate action, have a search around www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com to see if such an 'extension' exists to force Safari to prompt on download. (Bear in mind these kind of things can be sensitive to the version of Safari they're used with, so if Safari starts crashing down the line they would be the primary suspects to remove)

iTunes Store content is country specific. When you change countries, you no longer receive app update notifications on your iOS device or in iTunes for the apps you purchased in your original country, nor do those Apps appear on your new country's Purchased page.
However, you will still be able to download those applications again for free if they are present on your new country's store (even if they are updated).You will not be charged and the download will not appear on your Purchased page. If a previously purchased app is not available in your new country, you will not be able to download it again.

With regards to changing the country associated with your account back to what it was before, you will need to deplete the remaining store credit on your account first.
You can use your remaining store credit by purchasing an item, and paying the extra amount using a valid US credit card, debit card, or PayPal account.

How can I restore the previously bought apps after I have formatted my computer without backing up any of my files for iTunes?

I bought many apps from iTunes at the end of last year, and then my computer had got problem that I had to format and reinstall everything.
I just want to know how can I restore the previously bought apps once if I forgot to backup any of my files on the computer??

FYI: At that time I was using iPad 1 and the OS was still 3.1.x. Now I am using iPhone 4 and would like to restore the apps at least those that are compatible to my phone.

ITunes 11.x does not automatically download purchased music

Hello to everyone,
after installing iTunes 11.x, the new purchased music (that I buy with my iPhone, iPod and iPad) is not automatically downloaded on my iMac even if I have the iTunes set for doing it (in the preferences). With the previous version of iTunes I did not have this problem.
Now, when I verify if there are new items to download, it says to me that there are no new elements to download, so I need to sync the iPhone/iPod or iPad manually to have them transfered to my iMac.
Does someone else have my same problem or could you help me in solving it?

Are you saying the songs are in you Library but not in the Purchased playlist?
In that case you can simply drag them from the main iTunes display into the playlist.

Apple tv does not automatically download

My 1st generation Apple TV no longer automatically downloads TV shows from the iTunes store for season passes purchased on iTunes. These need to be downloaded to the computer and synched manually. As this worked previously, I am wondering if anything has changed?

As it happens, this is true for me as well. The fact that there are some movies on my Apple TV that I cannot move to my computer prevents me from simply trying to disconnect and reconnect the Apple TV to my library.
I asked for assistance on this, and they re-initiate the download. Now i have two copies of the movie on the Apple TV and still none on the computer. The movie did appear in the "Downloads" list on iTunes, but dissapeared once the download completed. The "iTunes Extras" is present on the computer, however. Just not the movie itself.

Downloading previously bought apps onto a new computer - Not working

I just bought an iMac and I expected to be able to re download apps I had already bought in the App Store.
When I open the App Store Application I see the list of all the apps I have got through the app store and some of them show as being available to install and some of them show as being installed and are greyed out.
I can't download them fresh onto the new computer.
For example I have bought Hype - I tried copying the app across from my MacBook to the iMac and putting into the apps folder. Click on it to start the app and I see it briefly in the dock and then nothing. It is not running. I just tried it again and same thing but I got a dialogue to say I bought it on another machine and a request to log into my Apple account. I filled in that dialogue and the Hype app still refuses to run.
after filling in the password and clicking on Sign In - I still can't run or re install the app.
Same with Vector Designer, Smart Converter
Then there are other apps I have brought across and they are working such as iProcrastinate, Calendar,Alfred and Resize it.

When I connect my ipod touch to itunes, itunes automatically downloads all of my old apps onto my ipod. how do I stop it?

when i connect my ipod to itunes it starts a sync and then a backup. then at step 5 of 5 of the backup itunes starts to download all of my old apps to my ipod and then i have to cancel the sync and then on my ipod all of my old apps are grayed out and i cant even delete them. this happens every time i plug my ipod in. how do i turn this automatic download setting off?

Was any error message given? They usually are.
Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I currently changed my region from Brazil to US and everything seemed good in Itunes and Ipod. Now I have a mix of apps from my older and latest region and Itunes keep showing me 28 new updates, but when I try to update them it say that no updates are currently available for my account. I'm be able to identify what the region for each app. I've seen in another discussion here that I no longer receive app update notifications for apps purchased in my older region. So, my doubt is how is it possible to get this notifications about 28 updates in my Itunes!? The unique different think I did in the last days was update my Itunes to 11 version. HT4946 How do I restore previously bought apps from appstore, from iTunes to iPhone again, after reseting iPhone?

I had to reset my iPhone and before I reset it, I backed it up in iTunes (backup to computer). When I reconnected the iPhone back on iTunes, and clicked restore it only restored Contacts, Mail accounts and Calendar, but not photos, music but speccialy not Apps, even if they appear on iTunes Library. How do I get those apps back on iPhone?

The backup that itunes performs does not include any itunes content.
If the apps are in itunes on your computer, then open itunes, connect iphone, select what you wnt to sync, sync.
If you failed to transfer them to your computer, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries.

How to find previously bought apps?

I know for certain that I bought some apps in the past (games mostly), but I don't seem remember their names ). The Purchased tab in the AppStore shows me ALL the apps that I installed, including the free ones (most of which I uninstalled immediately). Is there a way to filter so I can see only the previously purchased apps that I PAID for?
