Does iDVD come installed in MacBook Air

I just purchased my first ever Mac, I've been working with iMovie and now want to burn a DVD. I need iDVD to create a DVD disk. Does iDVD come installed with the Mac or do i need to download.

I just purchased my first ever Mac,
If you are still within your 15 day return period.  Call Apple they will sent out iDVD at no charge.  (There are no realistic substitutes.)  Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.   IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.
Nicely explain that you may return the computer without iDVD. That usually does the trick.  You MUST speak to a senior advisor to get a free copy. The first tier people cannot do it.

If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

  • Does iDVD come native with MacBook Pro?

I've completed a movie in iMovie and ready to share.  I cannot find iDVD in the Share menu nor does on my MacBook Pro. I'm new to Mac and may not know the location of this tool. Where can I find iDVD?
    Kespears

If your computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier(not including Mac OS X Server), it's in the Applications folder. If it shipped with Mac OS X 10.7 or newer or any Mac OS X Server version, purchase an iLife DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

  • How do I access iWeb and iDVD on my new Macbook Air?

I just bought a new MacBook Air and read that I can load iPhoto 11, iMovie 11, and GarageBand from the app store, which I did. I don't see iWeb or iDVD anywhere, on the MacBook or in the app store.
I guess iWeb and iDVD are part of the iLife 11 package, which does not come with the MacBook Air (thought it did), but I wanted to check in case I am overlooking something.

If you have another Mac that you can connect to your Air with a local area network or int the Target Disk Mode,  Transferring files between two computers using FireWire, you would be able to run the iLife 11 installer disk on the other Mac and select the Air as the location for the installation.

  • I recently bought a Macbook Air and a Thunderbolt Display and the laptop's power is supposed to come from the display, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

I recently bought a 11" Macbook Air and a 27" Thunderbolt Display. The laptop's power is supposed to come from the display when connected, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

If your MBair is a 2012 model, it has a Magsafe 2 power connection.  The monitor probably has the old magsafe connection.  If this is the case, you need this adapter.

So it can be .mp4 format.
If not you have to convert it.
Try import it into iTunes then sync it to your iPad.

The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1.) This error comes up when MacBook Air is trying to up and download info to iCloud.
    What is wrong, and
    How to fix it ?

I believe I have what is a similar issue, but I am not convinced it is singularly related to iCloud as I don't use iCloud on this user account for contact synchronization.  However, I am running OS X Server on a different computer and am in the process of rebuilding a user account.  The user account got the error when I first connected to the Addressbook service, but when I wrote a contact to the database, the error changed to "[NSUnknownKeyException] [<ABCDGroup 0x7fe95d20d360> setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: the entity ABCDGroup is not key value coding-compliant for the key "com.apple.addlInfo""
Had you done recent work with the addressbook?  Rebuilt contacts?  Upgraded something?

  • CS5.5 Install on macbook air

I have an iMac that I have installed CS5.5 on via Disk.. just purchased a Macbook air which does not come with a disk drive.
I have tried the remote disk reader to install CS5.5 however due to the copywright I am unable to do so..
I can no longer download CS5.5 as a trial to enter my serial into.. How else do I install CS5.5 without purchasing the separate CD/DVD reader? or is there no other way?

    Thanks Jeff and Vikrant
I attempted the Remote CD option again and it worked perfectly fine .. might have been some tired eyes looking at it last night...

  • Cs3 problem installing on Macbook Air

I am tring to install my copy of CS3 onto a new Macbook Air running OS X 10.8.2
I get this error message soon after starting the install.
"Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance".
I have tried to install from the DVD via Air Disc. I copied the DVD to a memory stick and tried to install that way too. Same error both times.
I called Adobe help and they said that they couldn't offer advice as the software was too old. The guy did recommend trying to install under a new user account. Same error message again.
I don't want to have to buy a new version that I don't really need. Has anyone got any ideas or advice.
    Thanks in advance,
    Wayne van Wijk

Please stop copying the install files from one computer to another.  The issues you are currently experiencing is primarily caused by the use of the Migration Assistant you posted in message #3.
I would recommend you try the following steps:
Run the uninstallers which may be available in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Run the CS Cleaner tool to verify the required files have been removed - CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
Reinstall from the installation files copied to a USB drive using a computer which does have an optical drive.
If you continue to face difficulties then the most expedient option would be to format, run the Migration Assistant only for documents and settings, and then reinstall from the USB drive.  I have seen users spend hours and days trying to recover from the use of the Migration Assistant or some type of transfer solution from one computer to another.  Our applications function best if they are installed cleanly from the installer.

  • Installing on Macbook Air 4,2 - why can I not get this done?

I am trying so desperately to install Arch and dual-boot on my Macbook Air.  I'm not an Arch noob - I promise.  I've installed and loved arch on my old laptop a couple years back but that was not a mac.
I've been here but all it says is that this "works out of the box".  Unfortunately, I can't get that far.
I flashed Archboot to my USB thumb stick using DD and booted into it using ReFind.  I can't remember what the first option was, but I believe it was Arch-something with EFI.  I chose that and I got an error message:
    Failed to open file:  boot\intel-ucode.img
Trying to load files to higher address
    Failed to open file: boot\intel-ucode.img
So, I chose the second option which says (I'm sorry, I'm in my OSX right now so I'mg telling this from memory) something like Arch-something without EFI.  Then I got to the actual install console.  I created some partitions using cgdisk and chose my packages but they all failed to install due to a dependency missing.  I'm really sorry I don't know what that error was.  After I post this I will go back and try again and see if I Can get a screen shot.
Anyhow - This is nothing like my install was on my old PC laptop and I feel like I'm not even sure if I'm going down the right path.  Does anyone know of a youtube video which shows this process?  Honestly, as much as I've used Arch in the past, I truly feel like a dumbass right now but I'm willing to risk my reputation for a rig that runs the sweetest Linux there is.
    Thanks -
Whatever you need, logs, etc... no problem - but tell me where to get them because I'm not sure how to with my system in limbo like this.

Alright, only problem is that the beginner's guide talks about entering things at a prompt - like "# sgdisk --zap-all /dev/sda".  i'm not at a prompt.  I'm in the GUI Archboot console.  Also, I don't see instructions on which partitions to create, what size to make them, etc..  and, I still don't know why the original option in Archboot failed - the one that prompted me that it could not find boot/intel-ucode/img.  It's not that I haven't read the documentation and it's also not that I'm too stupid to figure it out - I feel like I'm on the wrong track. For example, the Beginner's Guide doesn't even mention instructions for Archboot - which is what I'm using.  By the way, thank you for your response.  I don't want to sound ungrateful

  • HT5634 Boot Camp support drivers install unsupported MacBook Air 11inch

I successfully installed WIndows 7 64bit from a USB on my 2013 MacBook Air 11inch and it seems to function properly. When I tried to install WIndows support software I keep getting "Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this compter model" message.  The Boot Camp support site states that this install is supported using Boot Camp 5 (which is the version I used). I've found a few workarounds on-line that mention doing something via the disc in the CD/DVD drive, but I didn't go that route so I am unsure how to proceed. Anyone have any guesses on how to make this work?

This sounds weird to me. I just installed 64x on your model macbook air at work today and everything went off with out a hitch. Perhaps you could try to redownload the drivers from boot camp assistant? I have had issues occasionally with boot camp drivers and redownloading usually works out for me.

  • CS3 installed on macbook air (yosemite) - serial number entered, only giving trial - how do i get past trial?

I have bought a new macbook air.  I installed CS3 design premium, entered the serial number which it accepted.  It recognised it was an upgrade from CS2 and asked for the serial number from CS2.  I entered the serial number but it was not recognised.  I uninstalled CS3 and proceeded to install CS2 first just incase but the installers do not work with yosemite.  So I am stuck with a perfectly good CS3 program which is going to expire in a few days at the end of the trial.
Does anyone know a way around this that I can get the serial number to work to get rid of the trial program?  I have just been on chat with Adobe but they are unable to give support on chat for CS3!

Susank5948872 I am sorry you are facing difficulties locating the eligible serial number to install the upgrade license of Design Premium Creative Suite 3.  I reviewed the account you used to post to this forum but there no Adobe software titles registered to the Adobe ID/e-mail address used to post to this forum.
You can find information on how to locate your registered Adobe software titles at Find your serial number quickly.  If you are not able to locate the registered software titles then please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care with alternate e-mail addresses and phone numbers which may have been utilized to register the software title.

  • Network Glitch During Install to MacBook Air Crashed Air - HELP

I was installing Snow Leopard on one of our MacBook Air computers using the DVD sharing on my MacBook Pro 17. There was a glitch in the network, probably from one of our many power drops on FPL, which interrupted the signal on all the machines in the network. The Air restarted itself, and is now in the greyed out screen of death, asking me to restart the computer, which only reproduces the screen of death, because it was only about 50% complete on the install when the network.
I was trying to figure out how to create a virtual disk on a hard drive to attach to the unit and try booting off of that. It isn't as easy as it used to be.
    Any suggestions?
