Does IIS Reset stop/start or IIS Restart fix template issues? See photos.
I have been having major template issues over the past couple of weeks where several templates give me access denied. I have been in contact with Microsoft about the issue, but after 2 days and 5 hours on the phone, the issue still cannot be resolved.
I then tried to use old sites that had the templates and "Save Site as Template". The new template that was saved are stored in the Solutions Gallery (template is "activated").
I ran the create new site process and chose the new template that I saved.
The template looked like this last week,
Now the template looks like this today.
In between last week and this week, I did an SP2 installation to Project Server 2010/SharePoint 2010.
I also did an IIS Reset /stop and IIS reset/ start
I also went into the IIS Manager on the central administration server and clicked "Restart".
This is a very time sensitive issue, and want to know how I accidentally resolved the issue. It's very weird that any of these above would change the template, but somehow it did. I do not want to reset IIS if I do not have to. If anyone has any idea on
how this could have gotten resolved it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi TR,
Not sure if iisreset always fixes this issue.
Sorry for my misleading description, I thought that there was a possiable that some js/css files weren't loaded in the browser randomly for new site created based on the template, so I think maybe some js/css files customized
and referenced in the orginal site (or in new site) may need to be checked-in and published.
Now I think is it possible that the issue is related to js/css load sequence in browser? or is it browser compatible issue(maybe not based on iisreset)?
Or you may try add new site in trusted site in IE see if it helps.
Also check if browser F12 developer tool could provide some useful information.
Thanks

After moving to iCloud I can only get my email through the cloud, no new emails are making it to my home computer and .mac account. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Which OS are you using. -
When I use Firefox without menu bar I can see bookmarks. How ever when I activate menu bar the bookmark is missing from toolbar. I tried opening in safe mode and resetting toolbar but it didn't fix the issue. I am using version 7.0
Do you mean the Bookmarks Menu button on the Navigation Toolbar?
You only see that button if the menu bar is hidden. -
IPhone: Sending stop/start to MPMoviePlayerController restarts the movie
The class reference for the "play" method of MPMoviePlayerController says, " If you stop a movie before it finishes, using the stop method, invoking this method again resumes playing it from the beginning of the movie."
But when I run this code, which uses a timer to start and stop the movie, the movie always starts from the beginning again when the play method is called from the timer.
self.videoPlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:_movieURL];
iVideoPlayer.scalingMode = MPMovieScalingModeAspectFill;
iVideoPlayer.userCanShowTransportControls = NO;
[NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:5 target:self selector:@selector(startStopTimer:) userInfo:nil repeats:YES];
iIsPlaying = TRUE;
[iVideoPlayer play];
- (void)startStopTimer:(NSTimer*) aTimer
if (iIsPlaying)
NSLog(@"Received a timeout, stopping video playback");
[iVideoPlayer stop];
iIsPlaying = FALSE;
else
NSLog(@"Received a timeout, starting video playback");
[iVideoPlayer play];
iIsPlaying = TRUE;I think it's a documentation error. MPMoviePlayerController.h has this:
// If visible, stops playback and then hides the player. Calling play again will start movie at beginning.
- (void)stop; -
Does Apple put out a service pack to fix Safari issue ...
... after you load and install COMBO PACK ? That will brake Safari totally ... i have no working safari at all now ... cant find anything from net either . Also would be nice to get some updates to Safari version 5,3 when everyone cant buy new Apple computer just to load and use Yosemite !
COMBO PACK is Apples own fix to Apple store that they broke some years ago when Apple was thinking it was really good idea having App Store icon on screen so that users could not hide it . When all loading in Apple needs CC info so dont remember where i loaded that COMBO PACK but to me it looked lot like Apple page .
Fixing App Store icon and been able to move it broke that part of program not even a fix with original disk would work .
Now i wanted to load updated operating system but when that cant be done without giving CC info to Apple that cant figure out how their Cloud service was hacked so will pass that then ... free stuff should not need CC info ... and NO THERE IS NO "NON" OPTION ANYWHERE ... those youtube videos are fake i dont get any NON option ... oh it must need a working SAFARI . Would be nice to get any info from someone that works to Apple but thats a dream they do not seem to care at all . -
the details are pretty much the same as the question. I cannot get any content to load without wiggling my mouse across the page that is trying to load. The busy circle just spins and spins but nothing loads without moving the mouse.
i think the best option at the moment is to use the firefox 31 esr version: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Why is iPhoto doing this none stop?
My iPhoto does this none stop.
I've restarted.
I've restarted the computer, deleted the plist file and it still does it none stop no matter how long I leave it open.
Is there a quick fix. It started this after I created another library.Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

After I sync my ipod itunes is giving me the message that backup for my ipod cannot be saved on the computer does anyone know what I could do to fix this issue?
Check out this Apple document -> iTunes: "Backup could not be saved on the computer" alert message
To resolve this issue, delete the backup in iTunes Preferences and then create a new backup. If you would like to retain a copy of the backup, you can move the backup file to a different location. The backup is located in the locations below.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7:
\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To delete the backup file:
Open iTunes Preferences by choosing iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
Select Devices.
Select the device backup to delete.
Click Delete Backup. iTunes will ask if you are sure you want to delete the backup. Click Delete Backup.
Click OK.
To manually create a new backup, right-click (or Control-click) iPhone on the left side of the iTunes window under Devices and choose Back Up from the shortcut menu. -
IIS wsuspool stops Again and Again
Hello,
I have installed WSUS in one of the SCCM 2012 Primary servers and it was working for almost a month. For last one week, I am unable to connect to the WSUS console. Please find the error below.
Error: Connection Error
An error occurred trying to connect the WSUS server. The error can happen for a number of reasons. Check connectivity with the server. Please contact your network administrator if the problem persists
Click Reset server node to try to connect to the server again.
While analysing I found that the wsuspool is getting stopped automatically and that is the cause for this issue. Could anyone please help me to resolve this problem?
Regards
Nikhil SAnd there's this one:

and this one:
http://mnscug.org/blogs/sherry-kissinger/360-wsus-sup-servers-in-configmgr-2012-custom-configuration-settings
basically, S Nikhil, you aren't alone. The current supposition is that "sometime" within the last 2-3 months, something to do with the Catalog size--which is "slightly" controllable by you for what products you select in your SUM
configuration--grew over some critical size. For default iis / wsuspool configurations, the private memory pool default is no longer adequate, and you need to increase it. We also took the extra precaution of having RapidFail be disabled, so that
IF it does fail on the WsusPool, it will restart.

Move-SPSite with no IIS reset?
Does anyone know the definite or potential side-effects of not performing an IIS reset immediately after performing a Move-SPSite command to move a site collection from one content database to another is?
We have been tasked with splitting some our larger content databases up to make them more manageable and are using Move-SPSite to do so. However, we are operating in a 24/hour no-break environment and have to submit an outage report in order to
request and perform an IIS reset. To move a site collection on the other hand, we only have get approval from the site collection owner.
So our plan is to move all the site collections throughout the week when possible and then submit one outage report to perform the IIS reset once they are all moved. But in the meantime, what are the negative consequences of moving a site and then
not performing an IIS reset for a few days?It's true that the Move-SPSite command doesn't require downtime. But after the process completes, it displays
the message "WARNING: IIS must be restarted before this change will take effect. To restart IIS, open a command prompt window and type iisreset."
The iisrest command does affect app pools, and this is the reason we have to submit an outage request before we can perform one. In reality, the impact of an iisreset is small and the duration is short, but the powers that be deemed it outage request
worthy.
We have tested this in test and couldn't find any issues. But we're still nervous because just because we couldn't find an issue doesn't mean one doesn't exist. -

If you're trying use your hotspot and connected to wifi on your iphone, does the wifi stop working and start using your data instead of staying connected to the wifi?

Thanks for the quick response. What you have said makes sense but there is no rhyme or reason to he data used. I reset my cellular data counter to zero so both sent and received read zero. I was connected to wifi and let the phone to go into sleep mode. I waited about ten minutes and sent myself the same email four times, each with a 750 kb attachment. It was sent to my .me address so it was push mail on my phone. Sure enough I checked a minute later while bringing the phone out of sleep mode and checked the data. It showed just 10kb sent but 1mb received which just doesn't tally with the 4 x 750kb mails received. It just isn't making sense.
He knows what you asked and has already answered it!
I thought I had read where the iOS4 (or maybe just the iPhone 4) was supposed to be able to keep wifi connections alive while inactive. If the phone is sitting there on a charger with a wifi connection available, why use the 3G? -
Hello,
How to recover from a scenario when on the only server in the organisation running Exchange 2013 (other servers still run Exchange 2007), the IIS configuration files have been completly lost and back-ups are not available?
I have an empty Default Web Site, I cannot start Exchange Management console, and I have to restore ECP, OWA, EWS, Autodiscover, PowerShell, OAB and Active-Sync...
Since Exchange 2013 relies on IIS, is there any comprehensive guide on how to recover from a complete IIS reset?
PrzemoHi,
Thank you for your replies. I know that I have to rebuild virtual directories but it seems there is no way to do it. I cannot uninstall Exchange 2013 because it already contains several mailboxes.
I already tried the recover switch but it only checks if necessery (according to AD config) roles are installed and once it finds them in the regisistry it assumes that everything is ok (what a silly assumption!). You could probably delete manualy Exchange
binaries and recover switch would tell you that all necessery roles are already installed - so this command
is useless.
Now I wasted whole weekend on this and the solution I came up with is a little bit around. I set up separate VM with Windows Server 2012, I created separate Active Directory domain, then I installed Exchange 2013. Once it was complete I copied IIS configs
from this VM to my broken Exchange server. After some modifications, including configProtectedData and listenerAdapters sections I successfully "restored" IIS virtual directories.
Best regards

Hi, ATPMolloy.
I certainly understand your frustration and will do my best to help. I see you have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no change in results. I have attached an article below that specifically troubleshoots this issue that you are experiencing.
