Does iMesage default to enabled?

I bought my first iPad 2 in 2008 or 2009. I now own an iPad mini and an iPhone 6+.
I never felt a need to tap the green icon on my iPads. I used SMS so infrequently that, i never noticed the color of the speech bubbles on my iPhones. I only ever heard of iMessage when all the press started a few months back. I looked and sure enough there were messages on my iPad.
So please tell me how it was enabled to start with? Is iMessage enabled by default? I disabled iMessage on my phone. I followed the procedure to remove my number from the database. I cannot figure out how to disaccociate my eMail. I only switched off iMessage on my iPad.
Can I assume, at this point i am free of iMessage for good? I was thinking of upgrading my iPad, and maybe buying a macbook air, but not if I have to deal with iMessage.
I travel a lot. I do not need to be missing messages.

THank you
My memory must be bad. I emmigrated from the USA to Asia in Sep 2011. I had been using my first iPad 2 for many months before that. I am unclear on the timeline.
I do not recall signing into iMessage. I have asked others, and they do not remember doing so.
I Have been asking if iMessage defaults to enabled for months on dozens of sites. This is the very first answer.

  • IviDCPwr Configue OVP.vi does not work when enabled is set to true.

There is an IviDCPwr [MSR] - Output DC Volts.vi example in Labview 2009. There is IviDCPw Configure OVP.vi which is used for enabling or disabling the OVP limit feature. I have tested this VI with E3631A this power supply does not support OVP enable so this parameter is set to false and the VI works fine.
When testing with N5749A, this parameter needs to be true since this power supply does not support OVP disable. There is an error being generated with this VI. If I remove this VI , the default limit value is 100 and the VI is working fine and setting the current and voltage without any issue.
Could anyone let me know if they have faced any similar problem and how it can be solved.
    Best Regards
    Anshul

    Hello Anshul,
Can you please post more information about the error that is being generated?  Also, please see if the problem appears when the N5749A IVI Specific driver is in simulation mode.
    Cheers,

  • What does the default domain mean in oracle

    Hi everybody,
In sqlnet.ora file, there is a parameter NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN.
Does that default domain mean the net work domain of the server
    or something else?

It is the default domain for your database to use when searching
entries. For example, say you have a database called ORCL.WORLD
and for some reason you have one called ORCL.ORACLE.COM (these
are not DNS names , they are TNS names). If you try to do a
connect to just ORCL and your default_domain is set to
ORACLE.COM , you will connec to ORCL.ORACLE.COM and not
    ORCL.WORLD.

APDivs are a thing of the past and is bad practice. You need a working knowledge of CSS to get a modern looking layout and to do justice to your design which looks great btw.
One out-of-the-box solution is to use Bootstrap - http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/index.html and use the pre-defined classes/ grids to layout your content.

  • Where does the default route come from ?

    Dear All
As we know, the edge router in client side gets default route from ISP' edge router. Where does the default route come from in ISP? If the ISP edge router has full route table, it produces there. If not, it comes from its upstream router until full routes table(only BGP). Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

    Hello.
While establishing BGP with ISP, there are three options for a client:
    > Default route (used in general) - client router forwards every request (for destination route) to ISP router.
    > Full route - ISP router's complete routing table would be received and maintained in client router.
    > Partial route - Only specific route would be received from ISP (Head office - Branch office scenario)
ISP generate default route from their peering router that should have full routing table or knowledge of the router having it. A local ISP may generate default to their client and have one received from their upstream or global / larger ISP. Hope this helps.

  • Infopath does not default yes/no field value.

    More infopath issues.
I have 2 yes/no fields in a SharePoint list.  In infopath, the fields are defined to default to FALSE.  When i attempt to add a new row or edit an existing row, infopath throws an error
The form cannot be submitted because it contains validation errors.
So basically, Infopath does not default the value as defined in the form, and then throws an error because it didn't default it.  I tried setting the value in the form in a rule if it's not TRUE or FALSE but this also does not work.  Tried setting
the value to "false" also but again, it does not execute the rule as instructed.  The error says only "true" or "false" are permitted but infopath provides "TRUE" and "FALSE" as the options on the box.
Infopath needs to decide on what it wants!
In addition, Infopath changed the definition of my field to default to "YES" when I had it defaulting to "NO".
I think the problem is that infopath has the wrong idea.  SharePoint uses "YES/NO" as values while infopath thinks YES=TRUE and NO=FALSE.  Pretty stupid eh.
One question... IS INFOPATH A RECOMMENDED OPTION FOR SHAREPOINT?????   MY GUESS:  NO WAY!!!  This tool is a complete piece of junk!

    Hello Roland and jd,
I've the same issue here with InfoPath 2010 (international version of MS Office Professional Plus Version 14.0.7015.1000 (32-bit) - but set to English language).
The property of a check box only offers (Blank), TRUE, FALSE, 1, 0 for data type "True/False (boolean)".
TRUE and FALSE are not accepted at "Form Submit" - this is due to a built-in check, not a validation rule.
I tried to set the boolean field with a rule to either "true" or "false" just before submit - the rule action dialog does not check the data type like the check box but provides an empty text field. However, this does
    NOT solve the issue!!
I can avoid the hassle with a text field which I assign "TRUE" and "FALSE".
The boolean field is not used as SharePoint property, so this is definitly a problem of Infopath 2010.
    Any ideas? Suggestions?

  • Outllok 2010 does not default to iCloud contacts or iCloud Calendar

When using Outlook 2010, when I co to contacts, it always defaults to the Outlook Data file. How do I get it to default to my iCloud contacts? Same for Calendar.
I have already triued moving "up" the iCloud contacts and calendar to the top of the list. This does not help.

Welcome to the Apple Community limill.
        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • How does works default parameters in a program with logical database PNP?

    Hi Friends,
I have a basic program, i need to filter info with period parameters in a program that uses logical database PNP, but it doesn't work.
If i use "person selection period" that it's suposed to filter info according to infotype 0001 (as the sap help says), it doesn't work, i use: PNPBEGPS = today and PNPENDPS = today, and the result it's a lot of registers that doesn't meet that criteria.
Also i tried with: data selection period, today, up to day, current month. And the result it's with the same problem.
How does works period parameters in a program with logical database PNP?
This it's the program example, i use the default category.
    REPORT  ZRPHRTEST.
    tables: pernr.
    infotypes: 0001.
    start-of-selection.
    get pernr.
      write: pernr-pernr, p0001-begda, p0001-endda.
    end-of-selection.
    write 'fin'.

    Hi,
Define pernr table under tables statement then and use GET PERNR event. This get event is followed by End-Of-Selection.
    Syntax: Tables pernr.
                Get pernr.
Try, activate and test. This should solve your problem.

  • Why does the default Mac print dialog show up in Acrobat?

Instead of the Acrobat print dialog:
    The Mac print dialog:
shows up when I invoke the Print command.
Is there a preference that needs to be reset? Sometimes quitting and restarting Acrobat fixes the problem, but I've had computers that have never shown the Adobe print dialog, only the Mac dialog.

according to your illustrations you have two different Printers setup.
Unfortunately, in Acrobat 9 the Page setup Dialog does not function  it shows any printer.  I've explained here.

IF this is Acrobat 9 - I have sent back bug reports, I've posted in Fedback forum (not discussion Forum) about this as well.  I have yet to see an answer to the problem. What you need to do is on the 2nd one that has the different dialog is set that to the same printer as in the first.
IF page setup does work in your version of Acrobat make sure that while in acrobat choose correct printer then in page attributes click and choose save as default. That way acrobat will always default to this setup to start with when opening Acrobat.
Another thing you can try is if you have removed a printer and added a new printer go to Printer Utility, and remove the old printer. If you have added a printer make the new printer the default Printer.

  • Why does the default install make a partition for boot?

The installer, if one lets it prepare one's hard drive, makes a partition for boot, and formats it as a second extended filesystem. I know that people debate the need for/desirability of a partition for boot, and I do not mean to revive that debate. Rather, I am interested in knowing why the Arch developers, like the developers of some other distributions, such as Gentoo, but unlike some, such as Slackware, call for a boot partition, with ext2fs file system, on a default install. Should Arch users interpret this as a recommendation? Also, why is the partition quite a bit larger (although tiny compared to the available space on hard drives these days) than seems necessary?
    Thanks.

I've looked at a couple of books and a fair number of internet posts on this, and I must say that these responses are a good deal more concise and clear than what I have come across. I did find it interesting that the Slackware on-line manual doesn't make any effort to encourage it. On the other hand, what you guys are saying sounds sensible enough.
I have both Arch and Gentoo running, sharing a boot partition, which I set at 50MB. I'm using 25% of it, which is why I ask about size - obviously not in terms of overall capacity, but in terms of need.
Why not a lot less - say, even if one is considering dual boot, 20MB? And where do numbers like 32MB come from (the Arch, and indeed Gentoo, default, also referred to by T-Dawg)? Why not use round numbers?
Does 32MB have some rational/irrational/astrological/lucky 7 connection to 64MB RAM, sort of like designating 128MB as swap instead of using numbers like 120MB or 125MB or 130MB?
As you probably know, in Gentoo this stuff is done on the command line in fdisk, and I found it quite odd to be told in their manual to tell fdisk that the boot partition should be 32MB (assuming a single operating system) and swap should be 256MB, especially since fdisk and my hard drive took these numbers with a grain of salt and conspired to adjust them to slightly different numbers complete with decimals. Arch, on default, does the same.
Then I find out that with two operating systems, I'm using about 13MB out of 50MB (or rather 49.9MB, as fdisk and my hard drive decreed)
To change the subject a bit, I think that it is a good idea that the current version of Arch .08 would create, on the default track, a /home partition. There are some nice ideas in the install dialogue, including in the section on setting up a hard drive.

  • Why does my default calendar keep changing?

Periodically with no apparent end user intervention my default calendar selection changes.  One is an Exchange based calendar and one Gmail.

Changing into what? You need to give more information about the problem.
How are you connected to the net, describe what's happening. Hopefully then somebody might have some ideas.
