Does Indesign have a Split to Grid feature like Illustrator does?

Hi, I'm trying to split a rectangle into several boxes w the exact same dimensions. I can easily do this in Illustrator using Path>Split into Grid. How can I do the same thing in Indesign CS3?

You might get what you want by dragging ruler guides into approximate positions, being sure that the outside ones are snapped to the rectangle edges. Select all of the horizontal or all of the vertical guides at once, then open the align panel and use the distribute objects options to space them evenly. Be sure you have "Align to selection" chosen in the drop-down.

Does iMovie 08 have a Backup to Disc feature like iTunes? This way you could back up your entire Movie Library by feeding it discs, and then periodically only backup what has changed since the last backup? Does iPhoto 08 have this feature as well?
    Thanks. Red

    no.
    videos usually have 13GB/h .. HiDef 40-50GB/h ..
if you want a backup of your Movies Library, consider the usage of a huge external, firewire connected harddrive (MacOsExtended formatted) ...
    .. I mean huge.. really huge ..
    ... have I used the word homeserver? CubePro? ... no, I haven't !!

I like the feature on our iPhones - is there a similar application for MacBook Pros? I searched the iTunes store and nothing came up.

    yes
Find My Mac is not enabled by default (possibly out of privacy concerns), go into System Preferences on your Mac, navigate to the iCloud preference pane, and tick the checkbox next to Find My Mac to enable it.

  • Snap to Grid problem in Illustrator CS4

I found a weird problem with the "snap to grid" feature in Illustrator CS4 running on MAC OS X Snow Leopard.
To reproduce it, on my system, it is enough to:
    1. Make sure to have the Snap To Grid enabled (View->Snap to grid)
    2. Draw a rectangle (see BEGIN.JPG)
    3. Select the Direct Selection Tool
    4. Try to increase the width of the rectangle, by dragging one side of the shape (not a single point, but the whole side in a move).
    5. On my system, I see that Illustrator behaves in a wrong way; it is like Illustrator is snapping to a not aligned grid, and the rectangle begins to be distorted (see END.JPG).
If I try to move a on point at a time, instead of moving one complete side, everything seems to works fine.

Win Vista 64-bit AI CS4.  Can't seem to reproduce your issue.  I drag on the right side of a rectangle with grid snap on and show grid and it snaps exactly to the grid, not anywhere in between even if I start with a rectangle that was created "not-on-grid".  When it snaps it snaps to distances equal to the grid spacing, though it won't snap to the grid itself.  It's as if it snaps to its own internal grid.  I guess that's a problem in and of itself since once you have grid snapping turned on no matter where the original rectangle was you would like it to snap to the grid lines.
EDIT:  Now I see how you created the problem--with direct selection (white arrow) as opposed to full selection with bounding box (black arrow).  Black arrow selection snaps to its internal grid while white arrow snaps to rhombus-like snapping.  I guess it's designed to be used with individual points and not with edges.  (AI doesn't have edge-snapping).

I've been using numbers for iPad and I accidentally deleted a column. And the auto-save feature saved that and now I can't undo it. Does iCloud storage have backups of saved files from like 10 minutes ago? I have numbers synced to iCloud.
I tried to undo it but the app crashed.
I am hoping there's like a previously saved version of my file in iCloud somewhere.

No, iOS does not do short term incremental back ups to iCloud such as you get with Time Capsule. It backs up when you do soo manually, or if set properly, when the device is plugged in and connected to WiFi. It will not have saved your changes as of 10 minutes prior.

    Good afternoon.
I have created a Form in Indesign, imported into FormsCentral.
I would like to post this onto a webpage. It is currently an iPDF.
How would I go about doing this. I cannot 'Place it'.

The only way to use Forms Central would be to export it the method that gives you the embed code (can't remember what the actual term is off hand) and then use Object--->Insert HTML and past your code in.

Why doesn't the iPhone 5 have the call bar feature like the 4S does?

    From the Swype website:
Why isn’t Swype available for iPhone/iPad/BlackBerry/Windows Phone?
Due to the technical design of some operating systems, it is not possible for third party keyboards (such as Swype) to be offered at this point in time. Please communicate to your device/OS manufacturer that you’d like to see Swype available as a keyboard option!

  • Does free version of VZ protect on LG G3 android have the find and lock features or just virus protection only

Does free version of VZ protect on LG G3 android have the find and lock features or just virus protection only.  I've asked tech support several times and always get different answer.  Am wondering if anybody uses free version and know if it has these features.
    Thanks

Android has a find and lock feature built in that is accessible from your Google account.  Just Google "Android Device Manager" and you can find/lock/erase your Android device from that page.
You have to activate it on your Android device first, but it's a quick setup.
    Open the Google Settings App.
    Click Android Device Manager.
    Check the boxes.
    Done.

  • DOES THE IPAD HAVE A TEXT TO SPEECH FEATURE IN IBOOKS??

DOES THE IPAD HAVE THE TEXT TO SPEECH FEATURE IN IBOOKS??

Actually, there is a small workaround.
It isn't the same as an audiobook, but it does the job.
    Go to Settings>General>Accessubility>Voiceover>
I would suggest settkng the speed to slower cnsiderng you
    are gong to read books.
    Anyway turn voice oier on.
You'll have to double tap everything since Voiceover sais everything you tap once.
Anyway, once you're n the book, just tap the text and boom.
I use ths on websites where there are a kit of text,
You see, this feature is for those who are vision impaired or blind.

Does airport express have auto on/off schedule feature? Or any other ways to turn it on/off automatically.

The Timed Access feature of the AirPort Express will allow you set the specific times that each wireless device will be allowed to connect to the wireless network each day.
However, this feature cannot be used to "turn on", or "turn off" the AirPort Express device.

  • Does ipad2 have a "show topsites" feature like the Macbook Pro?

Does ipad2 have a "show topsites" feature like the Macbook Pro?

No, Safari on the iPad is a fairly basic browser and with iOS 5 it now uses tabbed browsing and not the thumbnail/page view as on previous iOS versions (which only showed your open pages and not top sites).

  • Does thunderbird have a quick view feature like windows live mail?

This feature provides a view of all emails in all of the inboxes for all the email addresses.

''Sorry, confused this thread with a different question!''
As far as I can tell, Thunderbird does not have a built-in "AutoPreview" feature which can show the beginning of the message body in the inbox.
There may be a tooltip when you hover over the line in the Inbox, but that is a lot slower than having the text there automatically.
The text may appear in a notification pane pop up that shows your newest messages, but that is transitory and doesn't help for older messages.
So, I guess you would need an extension to add this, if such an extension exists.

Does safari have a "do not track" feature?

Safari v.6 does via Safari Preferences... > Privacy tab:
If you're on a version of Safari prior to v.6 you can install the Do Not Track Plus extension — see HERE under the Security category.
Note that Safari v.6 is included in Mountain Lion and is available for Lion via Software Update.

  • Does Firefox have a feature like the software named Robo-form, where like if you wanted to go to your gmail, you could click on one thing, and not have to inter user name and password every single time?

Some times in Firefox I see pop ups where Firefox is allowing you to make Firefox remember a password or some such thing like that.
I want to go to an account or web site where I have already registered, type in my user name and password and then before I log in, have Firefox remember my log in information, so that in the future I could go to a folder let's say, that has a list, and just click on the one item, spending less time logging in at places.
Is this something Firefox does, or do I have to say, use a software like Robo-form?
