  • I have a web site built by Yahoo Web Site Builder which does not have a Mac version, is there any compatability between Iweb and the old Yahoo program?

I have a web site built by Yahoo Web Site Builder which does not have a Mac version, is there any compatability between Iweb and the old Yahoo program? If not how do I clear off the old site so as to re publish with Iweb.

iWeb cannot import published files so you would need rebuild the site.
Yahoo hosting is notoriously poor and their tech support is awful. I would suggest you look for new hosting and start afresh. Some pointers for choosing hosting...

If you do choose to go this route, transfer your domain name registration away from Yahoo to your new host.

  • Does anyone have a Mac Mini (MID-2007) with wifi that works?

Does anyone have a Mac Mini (MID-2007 C2D) which wifi works?
It seems that Mac Mini has different models and some have a Broadcom Wifi card and some Atheros WIFI card. I'm trying to find user whom Mac Mini 2007 with atheros card works. Since os x 10.6 and 10.7 my wifi have not worked at all. I even changed internal antenna. Also attached external antenna on WIFI cards ext port. Still very poor connection. Also sometimes when my mac wakes from sleep country code of WIFI card is US not FI as rest of my family macs. WIFI is made with apple extreme router (802.11n). 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. I do not have network interference. With Minimac Atheros card has support b and g network with 2.4 Ghz and a network with 5 ghz. Signal ratio is average -80 dbm, and speed varies from 6-36. Both a and g networks work same way on minimac. When I turn machin on wifi is usable about 1-2 minutes then latency will rice and after that timeout will occur on network. Still mac mini is connected to network.
    Atheros firmware is: 5424: 2.1.14.9
    Card: Airport Extreme (0x168c, 0,86)
    Location: ETSI
    Country: FI
    Security: NONE
    PHY: 802.11a
There are a lot of guides on net how to get it working; eg. change older OS kext, remove preferences, install os again (done all that, nothing works, but older kext files seem to work little better). But does any one have a Mac Mini with working wifi. What brand is your router and is the card in minimac original Atheros. Broadcom seems to operate Apple Extreme router quite well.

My Mac Mini Mid 2007 has the same specs:
    Card: AirPort Extreme (0x168c, 0x86
    Firmware: Atheros 5424: 2.1.14.9
Ever since I upgraded to 10.7.2, my WiFi has been running painfully slowly. Same issue: it works okay for a minute or two, but then slows to a crawl, with network timeouts, etc. And it shows I'm still connected to the network. It gets particularly bad when waking from sleep, unless I quit my web browser first, then put the machine to sleep. (Waking the machine with browser still "launched" causes big problems.)
Has anyone figured out a workaround for this issue?

  • Does iPad have GPS, or do I have to get an external dongle ?

Does iPad have internal GPS, or do I have to get an external dongle ?

OH, and by the way, do you know if the gps the iPads use is affected by the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) ?
It would be nice to be able to get this info off the Apple web site, but I think it is the most user-unfriendly site I have ever seen.  Absolutely no answer to these questions, no matter what search terms I enter.  Hopefully, my first iPad experience won't be as user unfriendly as the people who manufatured it.

  • Does iPad have virus protection when using E mails?

Does iPad have virus protection when sending or receiving e mails?

You can purchase an email attachment virus checker from the app store, but there is no means for an attachment you receive to infect your iPad. If you decide to by the app I refenced be sure to closely read the app description and some reviews.

  • Does Ipad have a usb port?

Does the Ipad2 come with a usb port or a plug in that will allow you to support usb hook up? And does garage band for ipad allow vocal recording or just instrument?

The iPad does not have a USB port built in. There are some third-party audio devices, though, that use the Dock connector. And of course the iPad 2 has a microphone built in. If you're looking for a serious audio device, the Alesis iO Dock might be worth considering:

Lexicon's Omega is another option, one that apparently works via Apple's Camera Connector Kit:

  • Does IPad have a standard jack for earbuds?

I received a new IPad for Christmas. 32G with WiFi. Can you use any standard earbud/headphone jack with it, because when I try to use my earbuds from my IPod or headphones from a portable c/d player that I have, I get no sound from the earpieces and can still hear the sound from the IPad speakers.....?

    Moeski0000 wrote:
Philly, my case gives me ample room to insert the Jack. After hearing that it does take a standard size jack, I tried using more pressure when inserting it, and it finally popped into place. I knew then that in my previous attempts, I didn't have the jack inserted all the way. I just didn't want to force it if I was using the wrong size jack. Thanks again for your help. Earbuds worked!
I know the feeling. I'm usually squeamish about pushing real hard on something that small. Glad that the issue is resolved.

  • Where is the official reference to know how many MBs of RAM does iPad have?

    Hi guys,
I have read discussion here and get to know that iPad has 256 MBs of RAM, but the discussion is user-to-user discussion. I want to know that is there any official reference to point that how may RAM in all types of iPad machines?
    Thank you very much!

Welcome to the discussions. Since the amount of RAM is not mentioned in Apple's own specs here:
    _iPad - Technical Specifications_
...It says: +"Memory: 256 MB DRAM built into Apple A4 package (top package of PoP contains two 128 MB dies)"+ ...From THIS teardown.

  • Does ipad have wifi problems in hawaii?

Can anybody tell me how well the ipad works in Hawaii?  Are there any wifi issues?  We will be in Hawaii, Oahu, and Kauai for approximately 15 days.  We plan to camp out for most of those days.

R u talking about WiFi or 3G?  If there is WiFi at the place you are camping out then you shouldn't have a problem.  If your iPad connects to wifi back home then it should connect to WiFi in Hawaii.
Now if you are talking about 3G coverage that will depend on the carrier and the version of iPad you have (i.e. Verizon with CDMA tech in it or AT&T with GSM tech in it).  Nit sure what Hawaii has for providers or the cellular technology that they use to support 3G signal.

  • Does iPad have built-in games?

if yes, where are they locate?

    Thanks.
I want to know the title of an iPad game which I saw in May 2010 (less than two months after the release of iPad-1 in April 2010), which is however no longer on AppleStore. How would you think I could find it? Apple archieve system? Are you familar with those early iPad games?
The game is not as complicated as current iPad games: tiny red fish or tadpoles swim in clear blue screen. Players can use an iPad pen to drag them into four boxes on the corners of the screen. When you drag one, more emerge out of th eblue "water". then the game keeps going on.
    Many thanks
