Does iPlanet support http compression?

I see mention of boostweb on your site, but I understand they are recommending using a separate server rather than being installed on the same machine as iPlanet. Is anyone using HyperSpace or anything else that runs on the same server as iPlanet?
I don't like the complexity of having an additional hardware layer.

Even if iPlanet supports http compression, this will not be an adequate solution for a) some Netscape browsers (gzip bug), or b) Internet Explorer pages with <script> tags inline (browser bug).
Boostweb shouldn't be run on the same server as your webserver unless you have extremely powerful hardware (and it costs per CPU). Another alternative is a drop and go appliance like AppCelera (Packeteer's product).

    Hi,
    We are using EP6 SP17 with the BP of SRM 4.
    in the Shop iView -> MASTER_CATALOG, we get an error saying: :This server does not support HTTPS! It is therefore potentially unsafe to send your password".
    Even after sending the user& password we are unable to access the catalog.
    Does anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone have a solution for this?

  • Does FDF support https protocols?

    Does FDF support https protocols?  If so, what type of encryption?  Are there any other options to support form data to an https server?  Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for your quick answer!  I'm trying to learn some things to tell some tech people they're wrong and overcomplicating would could be an easy answer.  I want people to be able to pull up a form on the internet anywhere in the world, but submit it to a secure server, i.e. https.
    I take it from your answer that I can't use FDF to submit it to an https server?  Or, when you say "HTML" does that include https?
    When you say the entire PDF using HTTPS (SSL), do you mean via a webmail or web email that uses https?  My intent is to have my person in another city just click an easy button to submit the form without having to save a copy to their computer and manually upload it to a new https webpage.  That's why I liked this FDF option.

  • Does QTSS support HTTP Live Streaming?

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a streaming architecture based on HTTP Live Streaming.
    Does anyone know if QTSS supports the HTTP Live Streaming?
    And if not... is there any server that supports it?
    Thanks for the replies.

    Unfortunately, QTSS doesn't support HTTP Live Streaming. I wonder why Apple did not implement QTSS in Snow Leopard Server.
    However, Helix Universal Server from Real can do the trick.

  • Does GSS supports http KA using digital certificate?

    I need to check web servers that permits only client access using the proper digital certificate.
    Is there a way to import the certificate to the gss so it can run the http KA using the certificate.
    I am not talking about the certificate to access the GSS GUI.
    Any help is appreciated
    Robson

    Hi Robson,
    The HTTP KA on the GSS is very basic. It will just do a plain HTTP request against the server to see if it's alive. Unfortunately, client certificates are not supported.

  • Does Entourage support http email?

    I have Quest DSL and an MSN mail account. I can't get it to send or receive mail through Entourage or through the mail package that came with the computer. Quest says they aren't sure a Mac supports the http mail server that MSN is, but they weren't sure. Any help out there on how to set up Entourage to send and receiv mail with an msn.com mail account? Thanks.

    Mine is set up like domo67 and I have no issues. I did however add my user name and password to the outgoing section even though it was indicated as "optional". I have not gotten any error messages, and as long as I have edge available it will DL my mail each time as well as send it.

  • OSB - Support for HTTP Compression

    Does OSB 10.3.1 or any previous versions of it support HTTP compression. We have a requirement to integrate the service bus to integrate with a web service which is capable of returning SOAP response with GZIP encoding.
    We can explictly request the service to turn on compression by setting accept-encoding in the http request using transport headers. Can any one confirm whether OSB decompress the response before handling it to message flow.
    Thanks,
    Atheek

    This is important feature that is missing I feel. we could not use OSB business service feature much, because of the same.

  • Does Weblogic 10 supports HTTP/1.0..?

    Hi,
    My application contains an executable client. This client when invoked calls a servlet in the server. This application is working fine in weblogic 6.1 sp3 now. Iam trying to migrate this application to weblogic 10. However, when I invoke the executable client, its not reaching the servlet. Then I found the following logged in the access logs.
    "152.67.221.214 - - [06/Sep/2007:22:47:09 -0700] "POST /invoke/wm.server/connect HTTP/1.0" 401 1518"
    Note: I dont have the source code of the executable client..
    My doubts:
    Does weblogic supports HTTP/1.0...?
    how to make this work without having the control over the client..?
    Can we do something in server to make this work..?
    Its evident from the access log, that the request is unauthorized...how to avoid with without touching the client..?
    FYI, Its working fine in weblogic 6.1 sp3. Below is the log recorded in weblogic 6.1 sp3 access log.
    152.67.221.214 - - [06/Sep/2007:01:29:50 -0800] "POST http://appstg01:7031/invoke/wm.server/connect HTTP/1.0" 200 22
    How to make this work in weblogic 10. I can modify only the servlet and not the executable client.
    Thanks in advance.

    I understand that HTTP version has nothing to do with 401 code. Please let me know is there any way that we can avoid this without touching the client. Because the cleint is a executable to which we dont have access. We still have command over Weblogic server and servlet.
              Thnks.

  • Does Siebel adapter support HTTPS?

    I am looking through a tutorial on installing and configuring Siebel adapter. It says that the adapter supports HTTP, FTP, and MQSeries. Does it support HTTP/S as well?
    If so, can you point me to documentation for implementing HTTP/S w/ Siebel adapter.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    I don't believe Siebel adapter supports HTTP/S. I researched, but came up with nothing.

  • 6500 CSM-S and HTTP compression

    Is there any plans for the 6500 CSM-S module to support http compression along with ssl offload and SLB features?

    John,
    No plans at this time, due to the CSM not having the CPU power to do so.
    The CSS product line with version 8 code and integrated ssl module now has this feature.

  • Enable http compression on iplanet 7

    Hi Brother,
    We are enable http compression on iplanet 7.0 but the flash file "flv" unable to load by IE/firefox after enable this setting. Does it not support flash on http compression?

    I ran into a similar problem with pdf files and IE. It turned out to be a problem with IE. You can exclude IE with something like this:
    <If $browser = "*MSIE*" && $uri =~ ".flv$">
    #IE Bug - do nothing
    </If>
    <Else>
    NameTrans fn="assign-name" from="*" name="compress-on-demand"
    </Else>
    You may have to exclude the entire page that serves the flash too.

  • Does iPlanet 5.1/5.2 supports event change notification ?

    Does iPlanet 5.1/5.2 suports event change notificaiton? I did query against root DSE, but 2.16.840.1.113730.3.4.7 does not show up as supported control. Just enable the change log does not help.
    What is the proper way to get entry change notificaiton work on iPlanet 5.1/5.2?
    Thanks.

    Could you perhaps use persistent search? Doing persistent searches with ldapsearch is described a bit in http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6400-10/lsearch.html

  • Does Flex HttpService support https with client authentication

    Hi,
    We have a set of backend services available over https with client auth (cert based). We need to use mxml HttpService to access these backend services. Does HttpService support ssl with client auth?
    Another question is, for Https does flex share the browser keystore and certstore or uses its own?
    Thanks,
    Debashis

    Yes , a flex HTTPService can access services on https://.  But if I remember correctly , to use an https:// service , the swf has to be served on an https.  Example ,
    Served from https:// ... --> Can access https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> Can acess https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> CANNOT access https:// ...
    Served from https:// ... --> CANNOT access https:// ...
    Since Flex has the browser do the connecting , the browser handles the keystore stuff , not Flex. I think.

  • Does Firefox support the use of HTTPS Everywhere program?

    I have just found out about this program https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere and would like your opinion as to it's use and safety. Does Mozilla support this add on? Happy New Year Thank you

    I have been having problems with FF 28.0 freezing when I try to open a private window. I have to cancel it to get FF to stop. After safe mode restarts, disabling all add-ons etc., I can definitely say the culprit is HTTPS-Everywhere 3.5.
