Does iscsi initiator supported on SUN

I have a Sun Blade 2500 with SUN 5.9 OS installed.
I have configured ISCSI SAN and one of my Red Hat OS can accessed/mount the ISCSI SAN disk
Now i want to access/mount another ISCSI SAN disk on SUN solaris. Is that possible ?

iscsi initiator was introduced at Solaris 10.
So you can't connect iscsi device to Blade2500 at Solaris 9.
I am not sure about third party software for iscsi initiator. ( Never listen but and not never find )

While searching for the file names start with iscsi in c:\windows\system32 folder the file version is 5.2.3790.3825 in working windows 2003 server.
Recently I've downloaded (Not yet installed) iSCSI initiator for Windows 2008 from Microsoft website in that iSCSI initiator file version shown as 6.3.4.1, instead of using inbuilt Microsoft iSCSI initiator in W2K8, shall I try installing the downloaded
version,
because when I checked in Windows 2008 (Upgraded version) the iSCSI file version remains the same as 5.2.3790.3825 which was found in windows 2003.

Hi everyone. I had being using a QNAP nass for a while now. I had frew iSCSI disk for all my files. The software I used was
globalSAN iSCSI Initiator for OS X. After installing the new Apple Lion OS my iSCSI desapear. The initiator does not work any more. I read other post and it seams that the sotware is not compatible anymore.
Does anyone knows about any iSCSI initiator solution for Lion?

Couldn't you download the netscape.ldap package (iPlanet LDAP SDK) and put its jars in your app classpath?
The suggested way to replace netscape.ldap package is to use only JNDI calls, but maybe they can not fulfill all your needs.
By the way, you can get the source code for that package in Mozilla.org site.
(Note: if you are using Netscape LDAP SDK for parsing/generating ASN.1 streams including X.509 certificates, try using BouncyCastle instead of netscape.ldap.ber.stream package - I had to modify several classes from Netscape's package that is not meant to handle certificates, but LDAP streams...)

ISCSI Initiator favourites revert to using the IPv6 or the apipa IP address from other NICs instead of the source IP address that I specified.
When I manually connect to multiple targets and specify the correct ISCSI source IP address, I check the favourites and everything looks okay. But when the server is rebooted I check the favourites again and the source IP is now referencing the IPv6 and
sometimes the apipa address.
I have unbound IPv6 from the ISCSI NICS but this has made no difference.
Can anyone explain why this is happening?
Although the server still reconnects to the storage oaky, I’m concerned that if a path goes down that is might try to use the wrong interface to re-establish a connection.

IPV6 is supported with MS iSCSI. Do you have Multiple Connections per Session (MCS) configured? Is your storage configured to use both IPv4 and IPv6?

Missing dependency in Solaris 10 Update8 iscsi initiator / zones not booted

In previous Solaris 10 Releases, the iscsi_initiator smf service had the following
dependeny:
# svcs -D iscsi_initiator
STATE STIME FMRI
online Jan_11 svc:/system/metainit:default
Because this one is missing with Update 8, the service is even started after
the zones services.
online 14:45:50 svc:/system/zones:default
online 14:46:01 svc:/network/iscsi/initiator:default
Result:
- No filesystems on iSCSI disks mounted, no Zone on iSCSI running ... after system boot.
Any ideas?

Quick thought...
What happens if you mark all you zones to not boot as a default setting so system boot you won't have this race condition. Then have an rc3highnumber script that probes the services and makes sure all drivers and filesystems are available. Once available, boot the zones, and reset the autoboot option if need be. But make sure the rc3script has the autoboot function disabled again on the way down. This should hold the problem together until Sun/Oracle fixes this issue.
Nasty hack, but that's software for you.

Convergence - Is schema 1 supported by SUN Support

I'm gonna migrate from Sun Java System 2005Q4 to Sun Communication Suite 6.
The actual DS is using Schema 1.
I've tried to not use schema 1 andit works.
As we are going to buy SUN Support, I would like to know if schema 1 is supported by SUN Support or do I need to migrate to schema 2 ?

I guess GraphicElement will never support automation, at least by the time of Flex 4 release.
During my tests with GraphicElement extending IAutomationObject interface, I've just hit RTE coming from closed-source mx.automation.AutomationManager class requesting the automated UI control to implement IUIComponent interface, and obviuosly GraphicElement class does not implement this interface

does certicom implementation support ssl renegotiation ? We are talking to IIS server from OSB using 2 way ssl and get the below error . IIS doesn't request the client certificate in the initial handshake and it does a ssl renegotiation to request the client certificate.

Does Cisco ASA understand every Sun RPC applicactions?

We have a customized program using Sun RPC. The server is located on lower security interface, client on higher security interface (sorry, have to do this)
If we give IP any any rules on lower security interface, by examine all relative packets by wireshark, this program seems do all normal Sun RPC activities: client use a ephemeral port call server's 111 port, get portmap, end TCP session. Then client start a new TCP session and talk to server using this negotiated ports.
However, if we remove the ip any any rules on lower security interface (server side), we can only observe the port negotiation TCP session. The firewall seems forgot the negotiated ports and blocks all server to client (low to high) packets.
When we test this for NFS which is also using Sun RPC protocol, with the same interfaces and settings (client interface(security level 100) - ip any any, server interface (security level 0) - deny all), everything works fine. All packets pass the firewall and connection is stateful. All works good.
I don't really understand why this is happening, since all connection initialized by client side (higher security level) using only TCP, every thing should pass through and stateful.
The ONLY ABNOMORMAL thing about our customized program is: it using random port from 600-1000 as source negotiate port to talk to server ephemeral ports (32000-61000) for transfering data. And, the connection is through VPN. (there is no special rules or inspections used for VPN connection, without deny all on server side (low security interface), every thing works fine)
Is Cisco ASA 5510 doesn't support our Sun RPC application or is there anything I did is wrong?

Just find out: It is because of VPN. VPN will not automatical allow TCP packets coming back. Is there any solution for that? Or any options I can tune wiht VPN settings?

I can do this same logout from another W2K3 SP2 virtual machine and it works fine so appears to be something specific to this GREPI02 node.Joe

From the Event log, we can find " FileSystem\Ntfs" is trying to prevent your logout. To find out which file was opened, please try this tool:

Does Java 6 support SSLIOP in Java orb?

I have Java orb clients connect to server in TAO orb CORBA. Now I want to change the java orb clients to use SSLIOP (SSL in orb) to talk to the servers written in SSLIOP.
The question is, does Java 6 supports SSLIOP ? if yes, where are the documents and samples I can take a look to get started.

Does Stratus/RTMFP support P2P behind the same NAT/Router?

Does Stratus/RTMFP support peers behind the same NAT/Router?
(such that both peers have the same public IP address)
That is: if two computers (each running Flash) are behind the same NAT, and connect to Stratus to get peerID;
do we expect they can connect p2p?
Or will each one get/see just the public IP address:port of the other?
My initial tests indicate that this scenario fails [ICMP Destination Unreachable (port unreachable)]
Is this just a limitation of my local router? does this work for others?
Does Status expect the local router to detect/decode/resolve this situation?
If the solution requires 10.1 groups, is there support to detect/diagnose when/if the peer is on the same LAN?

Note: In one instance, i'm running two browsers on the same host,
so even the inner/LAN addresses would be the same. Therefore, if A sends to B's inner/LAN address,
the [Windows] OS network layer *should* recognize that and 'hairpin' without leaving the host, or crossing the firewall.
(I say "should" because Unix generally does that, but I'll have to check to see about Windoze).
[And such packets are probably invisible to Wireshark also, so how do i verify what's happening?

Does NW04 EP supports Axis1

I am using NW04 and has deployed a repository manager, which uses axis2.0 for web service. In my code I used javax.xml.namespace.QName(String, String, String). However, in my EP, it loads QName.class from jaxrpc.jar from usr/sap/sysid/jc01/j2ee/cluster/server0/bin/ext/webservices_lib, which only has QName(String, String). As a result, error occurs.
My question is, does NW04 EP supports axis2.0?
If not, where can I put my xbeans.jar, which has javax.xml.namespace.QName(String, String, String), so that the classloader of EP can load this correct QName.class first, rather than the one from jaxrpc.jar in /server0/bin/ext/webservices_lib?
