I've had the most unfortunate thing happen, where windows gave me the bsod.. and would no longer boot up. I reinstalled windows, and thankfully keep my music on a removeable harddrive. Seems silly, but all my album artwork was not kept in the folder "I told" itunes to use and keep organized for me(guess it keeps those files in place that isn't in the same folder as you tell it to access and store music). Not a big deal, except some of the artwork was way old and doesn't seem available anymore =[. So as the post implies.. does it, can it or will it.. ever store my artwork and music in the same folder I ask it to keep organized for me? Or, do I have the unpleasent experience of having to copy whatever folder it's in to my removeable storage drive whenever it's updated.

Yes, if you keep artwork in the default folders, it's stored here on XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\ username \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork
It's a slightly different path on Vista.
What I do, is I add the artwork to the MP3 ID3 tags so it stays with the music file.

There is a bit of overhead associated with having the artwork in every file, but it's OK with me.
Also, I make sure to convert all my tags to v2.3. iTunes ahs problems with v2.4 tags.
