Does it cost extra to send a picture to someone ?

Whether or not I have a data and or message pkg., does it cost extra to send pictures to email addresses?

Pictures sent via Email to an email address will use data from your data allowance.  Pictures sent via Text Message will count towards your message package or the per message rate.

what is the cloud and what does it do for us? also does it cost extra?

The cloud is a semi-generic term for online storage solutions.  This can range from something like dropbox that gives file storage to Google's cloud, which is used to sync various data points such as contacts, calendar, even music.  Most have a limit on their free amounts, with payment required for a larger limit.  In general, if you sign into your gmail account on your Android phone (required to use many of the free services, or to access the Play Store), there is no extra charge.

Can I pre-order Iphone 5 from apple website and does it cost extra to pre-order?

your bound to get a long line up where ever you are near an official apple store, but if youtr planning on getting by one of your carreirs it depends where you live as i was able to get iphone on the day it was released at my carriers store, though im exploring other options atm, whether it worth buying it out on apple store, work out my average data usage and just buy data packs for like $5 - $20, but no idea what atm.

  • What is data roaming? Does it cost extra? Why doesn't my iPhone automati...

What is data roaming? Does it cost extra?
Why doesn't my iPhone automatically connect to AT&T service? Sometimes I have to go directly to Carriers in the Settings to connect to AT&T 3G. Thank you in advance.

There is no local data roaming or call roaming in the U.S. as a subscriber with AT&T. Wherever AT&T has coverage in the U.S. is included.
AT&T does not own all the towers in the areas where they have coverage in the U.S. AT&T calls this "off net usage"
The following was copied from AT&T's wireless service agreement.
+If your minutes of use (including unlimited services) on other carrier networks ("off-net usage") during any two consecutive months exceed your off-net usage allowance, AT&T may, at its option terminate your service, deny your continued use of other carriers' coverage or change your plan to one imposing usage charges for off-net usage. Your off-net usage allowance is equal to the lesser of 750 minutes or 40% of the Anytime Minutes included with your plan. AT&T will provide notice that it intends to take any of the above actions, and you may terminate the agreement.+

  • My samsug galaxy tab...does it cost extra to use it as a wifi hot spot?

Does it cost extra to use my tab as a wifi hot spot?

No. Because your tablet data plan is capped, Verizon lets you use the tethering and hotspot at no extra charge. Just keep in mind that it DOES use data from your plan so if you got a 1 gig $20 plan hotspot will burn that up in a hurry.
Frankly, I wish Verizon would do this on smartphones too. I would GLADLY give up unlimited data in exchange for tethering / hotspot included with the plan. Upselling tethering is so 1980's. The rest of the world includes teethering as part of the data plan service, though their data plans are usually capped at 3Gig or 5Gig.
Believe me, I am not going to STOP throwing this fact in US carriers' faces until they see the light and stop upselling this inherent functionality. It was always intended by OEM's to be a standard open functionality of a smartpone, not a FEATURE to be up-sold and monetized.
Verizon is offering free tethering on 4G LTE devices? GREAT. Keep it that way!!!

Does it cost extra to use my Tab as a wifi hot spot?

    Hello Jessicaann9607,
Tablets don't need to subscribe to the 3G mobile hotspot feature. All usage is deducted from the mobile broadband plan.
    Hope this helps...

  • Does it cost extra to use the wireless on the iPod touch?

I'm trying to decide between an 8 gig Touch and an 8 gig nano. I prefer the Touch, but if it costs extra to use the wireless internet I'll get the nano. Does it? Which would you suggest and why? Which is cheaper overall to use? Are there any hidden fees?

I'll try to answer that from my standpoint:
I have ATT as my provider. I have a wireless modem at home. I use my touch with it. Whenever I am at my sister's or my brother's I use their wifi. Until a week ago, I never used it wireless anywhere else. Last week, while at B&N Bookstore, I checked to see if I could use it there. Since I wasn't home, Safari came up asking me to choose a network. One was ATT wifi, one was B&N's pay-to-use, and a third I don't remember who's. I clicked on ATT; it asked me for my ATT screen name and password, I entered them and I was In. Unless ATT's going to bill me later, I paid nothing then. I do not if this helps.

  • Does it cost money to send / receive a music / app gift from a friend via the email ?

I am currently having an issue and want an album my friend has purchased and heard about sending them as gifts, but i am not sure whether it costs either party to receive or send these apps or music albums as it says something about buying when I searched how to send the gift on this website. thanks

    Really????
it doesnt cost money to send an app from your computer to your phone. coz ur sending it via bluetooth or cable.
if you're talking about from the internet, most websites just send a link to your phone and you then need to open the link (i.e. browse) to download the app, so that would cost money (i.e. use your internet account)

  • Does it cost extra on your contract if you send photos over iMessage?

    Help

    No.
Exchanging iMessages is similar to exchanging email. Requires internet access so exchanging iMessages when connected to your carrier's cellular network for internet access will use your data allowance - the same when exchanging email when connected to your carrier's cellular network for internet access.

  • Does it cost extra to use wifi outside the states?

If you are using your family's WLAN, then you will not be charged for it. Just make sure that it is the WLAN and not wireless cellular data that you are using.

  • Does it cost extra to text and call someone who is in Puerto Rico?

We both live in the U.S., but he's currently in Puerto Rico. Since it's considered U.S. territory, I'm a bit confused and concerned. I have Verizon and he has AT&T. Thank you in advance!

You will be dialing a domestic number so its not going to charge you anything.  And even if your were calling a puerto rico number it is still free on verizon to call and text puerto rico.   Im not sure if ATT charges him anything whole he is thewre but you are good to go.  It wouldnt matter if he was in africa, as long as your calling his american number its free

  • How can i send a picture through text?

Does anyone knows how to send a picture through text message?

I came across this a while back and thought it was a good read
There are some interesting challenges with MMS that do not exist with SMS:
Content adaptation: Multimedia content created by one brand of MMS phone may not be entirely compatible with the capabilities of the recipients' MMS phone. In the MMS architecture, the recipient MMSC is responsible for providing for content adaptation (e.g., image resizing, audio codec transcoding, etc.), if this feature is enabled by the mobile network operator. When content adaptation is supported by a network operator, its MMS subscribers enjoy compatibility with a larger network of MMS users than would otherwise be available.
Distribution lists: Current MMS specifications do not include distribution lists nor methods by which large numbers of recipients can be conveniently addressed, particularly by content providers, called Value Added Service Providers (VASPs) in 3GPP. Since most SMSC vendors have adopted FTP as an ad-hoc method by which large distribution lists are transferred to the SMSC prior to being used in a bulk-messaging SMS submission, it is expected that MMSC vendors will also adopt FTP.
Bulk messaging: The flow of peer-to-peer MMS messaging involves several over-the-air transactions that become inefficient when MMS is used to send messages to large numbers of subscribers, as is typically the case for VASPs. For example, when one MMS message is submitted to a very large number of recipients, it is possible to receive a delivery report and read-reply report for each and every recipient. Future MMS specification work is likely to optimize and reduce the transactional overhead for the bulk-messaging case.
Handset Configuration: Unlike SMS, MMS requires a number of handset parameters to be set. Poor handset configuration is often blamed as the first point of failure for many users. Service settings are sometimes preconfigured on the handset, but mobile operators are now looking at new device management technologies as a means of delivering the necessary settings for data services (MMS, WAP, etc.) via over-the-air programming (OTA).
WAP Push: Few mobile network operators offer direct connectivity to their MMSCs for content providers. This has resulted in many content providers using WAP push as the only method available to deliver 'rich content' to mobile handsets. WAP push enables 'rich content' to be delivered to a handset by specifying the URL (via binary SMS) of a pre-compiled MMS, hosted on a content provider's web server. A downside of WAP push is that from a billing perspective this content is typically billed at data rates rather than as an MMS. These charges can be significant and result in 'bill shock' for consumers.
Although the standard does not specify a maximum size for a message, 300 kB is the current recommended size used by networks due to some limitations on the WAP gateway side.
