Does it take a miracle for BT to get things right ...

We moved office back in July, had BT on the phone, ordering new line and services for the new office as well as winding up the old office account, didn't think much of it afterward because the manager assured me everything is under control.
Two days before the move, new line working and all seem fine, we wanted call forward as we needed to keep our old number but as its on a different exchange, this were the only option according to BT.
We knew we could port the number to VOIP, for cheaper and easier management of the phone system, but chose to stick with BT because we work with their engineers on different levels, so opt for paying £400 extra a year for the previage of staying with BT (VOIP would cost us nothing).
Then 2 weeks in, we got a bill for almost £300, shocked, only to find that BT also charged for line rental and ..wait for this, call charges for EACH call forwarded, at almost 25p per minute, as a support company our ratio is almost 90% incoming callls.
Called BT, after 2 weeks and almost 6 hrs on the phone, they admited that its mis-sold, they never told us about call charges or line rentals, then 2 more weeks, they decided to revise the bill so only call forward should be billed as per contract, thinking it is all over ? no way.
Four weeks ago, we start to get calls from debt collectors, from what what may ask ? yes, its from BT, accordingto BT, our old number still incured charges even though the manager told us all balance will trans to new office, not forgetting we also got a final bill from BT before we moved, to make matters worst, BT chose to sent these bills to the OLD address which we have no access to, knowing too well we have moved.
Then this morning we got another heart attack with yet another bill for the old number for almost £550, almost 3 hrs on the phone, cut off by their great customer advisors, the ones I got through to, even with the reference number that clearly stated their own mistake of mis-selling and NOT to charge us for line rental and call charges, they didn't have a clue and insist that I pay up, only after 2 hrs of continuese calling that I managed to speak to a person who read the notes and understood the problem straight away, but still took another 45 mins before I got through to the billing dept where this nice lady said ok, they will ask back office to sort this out.
The stress and the time wasted on something so so simple is enough to drive me out of BT, as a tech company who advice our customers, yes, you guessed it, I will start to migrate them out when their contracts are up, seriously, by going VOIP in the first place could have saved us so much hassle, if not money.
This is one of the most useless company in the UK, if not this planet.
If I get another mixed up bill next quarter, I will get my lawyer to deal with them, enough is enough, because I know I am in the right, BT already listened to the original calls and confirmed a mis-sell, yet they are useless at fixing the problem, even though this may sound like its all over now, I still have to deal with the debt collectors because even after 4 weeks, BT still not got back to them as to why and what.
Once again, BT, you have out done yourself on this one with some of your most loyal customers.

Why does it take more space for pictures to be stored in iPad than iPhone?
The same pictures in iPhone utilises half the storage space than in the iPad.

Photos on the ipad should take up little  more space than It does on The iPhone because of the screen resolutions size.
Keep in mind If the photos are being stored on the device by Photo stream they will Take up less Space or if The photo Are being store by itunes syncing they may take up a little more.

    Good Afternoon Geraldine,
I understand you are wondering why you did not receive an email receipt instantly for an iBook purchase made on March 2nd.  Is this the first time you've noticed a delay?  I would suggest contacting the iTunes Support team to report the issue.  With your permission, they can access your account and possibly shed some light on this particular transaction.

  • Why does it take so long for itunes to sync my iphone? Its been on step 2 for hours

Why does it take so long for itunes to sync my iphone? Its been on step 2 for hours
I just got the iphone 4s...I have had two other iphones in the past and they did not take this long to sync. This is my first time connecting it to my computer.

8 hours later and it is reading "finishing sync" which I believe is past Step 5 and I have no idea when the "finish" will occur and am afraid to disconnect/interrupt the sync. The current version of itunes (11) is installed and syncing Microsoft Outlook (about 400 contacts, calendar, etc) for the first time.  What should I do next besides wait?

  • Why does it take so long for a movie to be shared/saved in theatre?

Why does it take so long for a movie to be shared/saved in theatre?

Well several different versions at different resolutions are saved to the library so it can be played on different devices.  If you don't need this you can speed things up a bit but disabling save to theatre.

  • Why does it take so long for the iPhone to recognize when space has been freed up for photos?

    The short story:
I try to take a photo using the built in camera app. I get the dreaded 'no enough storage' message.
I then delete a bunch of photos, podcasts, etc. effectively freeing up plenty of space to take a photo.
Nope - iPhone Camera still things there is no space available.
After some unknown time delay - 10 minutes or more, in many cases, it will FINALLY let me take a photo.
The longer and more detailed story:
I know EVERYONE gets this message at one time or another and I know how to resolve it: "Cannot Take Photo - There is not enough available storage to take a photo. You can manage your storage in Settings."
Fine. I understand that. I'm out of space on my phone (not iCloud, as some users seem to confuse). It's a no brainer - you don't have enough space on your phone to take a new picture. Again - fine, I get that.
What I DON'T get, and what drives me absolutely NUTS, is that I will then go through my photos and delete a dozen or so that I don't really want, easily freeing up a good 20Mb or more, then when I try to take a photo again, I STILL GET THE out of space MESSAGE! Baloney. I am NO LONGER out of space. iPhone, you incredibly well designed and intelligent piece of hardware, why, for the love of all that is good, can't you figure out that I know have 20Mb free?
So, then I'll jump over to Podcasts, which I love, but take up lots of room on my phone. I'll delete a few of the large ones I've already listened to, easily freeing up a few HUNDRED MEGABYTES. We should be good to go, right? WRONG. The iPhone genius still tells me I don't even have enough space to eek out one lousy photo.
If I let my phone sit there long enough -- 10 minutes, 30 minutes, a few hours -- I haven't determined when the magic happens -- eventually the iPhone realizes that 'Hey, the user just deleted a bunch of junk and, wow, I'll be a son of a gun -- there IS enough space now to take a photo. iPhone -- happy!'
Thanks for nothing, iPhone. By this time, my daughter has stopped doing that amazing cute thing that I wanted to capture forever and quite possibly spawn the next generation of 'Charlie Bit Me' parodies. I freed up 500 Mb of prime photo snapping space 20 minutes ago. Thanks for finally realizing it. I realize you can only do like 170 quadrillion calculations a millisecond. I realize these things take time.
Can one of you iPhone engineers please, for goodness sake, please explain to me why this INFURIATING and seemingly unnecessary delay exists? I am no Windows fan boy but I can sure tell you that when I'm running low on hard drive space on my laptop and then delete 1GB of files, that 1GB INSTANTLY becomes available to me. I don't have to wait some interminable timeframe until it magically is usable.
One last thing that is puzzling -- so the native iPhone camera will refuse to let me take a photo because it things we're out of space (when we're not) but any third party photo app, like Camera+ or Camera Awesome, will happily snap pictures all day long. In fact, once I've taken them using one of these apps, I can then SAVE THEM TO THE CAMERA ROLL!
By the way -- when I started this well thought out rant, my iPhone said it was out of storage, and now, five minutes later -- you guessed it -- still out of storage, despite the fact that I deleted 10 photos and 4 podcasts.
    So. Incredibly. Infuriating.
For you iOS 7 users, please let me know if this issue has been resolved at all with iOS 7. I've held off upgrading because iOS 7 messed up a bunch of things with the camera, at least on my wife's iPhone 5. Focus no longer works reliably -- touch to focus and touch to expose no longer work well -- the quality of photos took a big hit. I won't update until these issues have been resolved.

Thanks @pdroth. I did a quick Google search of DB indexing. I'm not sure I found exactly what you were referring to but I see where you're going with it. I can understand that indexing my database of stored photos can be time consuming. It's frustrating that the space can't be recognized as being free more quickly.
I notice that some items I delete seem to free up the space much more quickly. Removing an app entirely or deleting from my Music generally shows up as available space in Usage pretty quickly.
Deleting a photo or video from the Camera Roll will take MUCH longer, so I guess that has something to do with the indexing process you are referring to.
I'd like to point out that when I run out of space on an SD card on any budget point and click digital camera that I can quickly delete a picture or two and INSTANTLY be able to take a couple of new photos in their place. I guess I just have that same expectation for the $500+ engineering marvel I have in my hand right now.
    Thanks for chiming in.

  • Why does it take so long for my iTunes gift card to come?

I normally have to send the card over and over again to my daughters account and it takes her 2 hours to et it. Why does it take so long?

I don't think that anyone here can answer that question. We are not Apple employees and would not know what the actual process is that takes place when you send a gift card. I don't think that is totally unusual for the card to take a couple of hours to go through, but like I said, I don't know what the behind the scenes process is that is involved.
Why you have to keep sending the card is another matter but maybe it has something to do with your email provider and a delay on the server.

First shut down the text app and clear both

  • HT201328 Why does it take so long for Apple to unlock an iPhone 3GS.

I have been trying to unlock my iPhone 3GS whrough my provider since 31st August, and they are still waiting for a information from Apple.  Why does it take so long? Surely this will put people (i.e. me) from getting another iPhone in the future.

The carrier unlocks the phones... once the carrier officially unlocks they send an email to apple... Apple's database picks up this info from the imei number... it's all done computerized. Apple has nothing to do with unlocking whatsoever!
The contract is between the customer and the carrier. It would be illegal for apple to unlock a phone considering Apple is not a part of any contract!
Apple is a manufactor and support for their products... not a carrier!
Carriers push this crap on Apple when they know good and well they are the ones who unlock! Customers can call Apple to see if it's unlocked, but it's a database... they have no way of unlocking or locking phones!

  • Why does it take so long for a home video to buffer?

I recorded a video on my canon digital camera, transferred it to my iMac and then tried to watch it on my TV with my Apple TV, but a 3 min. Video took about 10 to 15 min. To buffer. It finally played. Now I'm waiting on the next on to finish buffer, and play. It's 10 min. long and it's been buffering for about 30 min. Why does it take so long?

Not on the LAN - traditionally internet speeds were rate limiting - these days it's possible the LAN connection is especially with multiple wifi signal paths.
Unless some app is transcoding the camera video on the fly I'd be surprised if LAn slownwss alone would cause these issues.
What's the camera and what is the recorded video format?
    AC

  • Why does it take so long for your iTunes request to be added

I am a huge fan of the Apple Store, And I was looking through (ps) this is the Australian store, anyway, I was looking for Sonic X, and noticed they didnt have it , So I requested, its been a week since they have not even added it, I really loved that show and would like to have it digitally Downloaded instead of having dvds all over the place Anyway, how long and why does it take forever for a tv series request be finally added to the iTunes store?

    A bit young?
They have a request page so people can tell the iTunes Store about media they would like to have but is not currently available. Apple can judge the number of requests for this material and try to enter a contract with the copyright holder to make the product available. It is not an order form, like on Amazon or a fast food restaurant where you put in your order and they find it and have it ready for you. They can't call Sega and ask for one copy of it to make it available to you. They have to enter into a contract giving them rights to offer it for download and have a payment schedule. Not something you are going to be able to do straight away.
And if Sega doesn't want to sell it on the Apple Store in Australia you won't be able to get it from there.
