Does iTunes Match work on your iPhone without an internet connection?

I signed up for iTunes Match but it said that it would replace my play list on my phone if I activated it there.  I didn't because I was afraind that it would leave me without any music when I am skiing or some other place without access to the cloud.  Is that the case?

Have you enabled iTunes Match in iTunes first and allowed the initial scan, match and upload process to complete first? If not, do so before enabling the service on the iPhone.
In it's default state iTunes Match requires an internet connection to play music. If you are going somewhere where you think you will not have constant internet, or poor internet, then you can pre-download the music to the device.

  • Is there a way that I can control iTunes with the iPhone without any internet connections?

First let me say that I am ready to throw this POS in the lake.  Is there a way that I can control iTunes with my iPhone without any internet connections?  On my houseboat I have a wifi router and want to connect my phone to my computer to control my music which plays from my computer through my stereo.  I can easily do it with my laptop without having to jump through any internet APPLE BS , but I dont want to have my laptop out on the deck. I just want to use the phone as a remote control.
Remote wont do it because it keeps saying Im not connected to the internet, even though is is connected to my computer.  Same problem with JumiAmp.

It should have an option to manage iTunes library without network connection, like Bluetooth or connect directly to the computer without a router or wi-fi, i live outsite of the city and i dont have the ability to control my iTunes librry from the iphone

  • Can you download movies into iTunes then watch them via airplay without an internet connection?  We want to be able to watch them in our RV that does have an internet connection always.

If you want to watch on your iPad screen, you don't even need airplay.
If you want to watch on a television screen, you need an AppleTV.
    In both cases...
If the movies are purchased, there is no need for an Internet connection to the outside world.  If they're rented, you need an Internet connection for the first minute or so that Apple knows that you're watching the movie.  I do not know if a rented movie can be stopped and restarted without an Internet connection.

  • How does iTunes Match work - do I keep the music?

Hey guys! With iOS 7, I can finally stream my music that I downloaded/bought on iTunes directly from iCloud, which is really amazing because I can finally free up my storage on my iPhone. Now, the only songs I have to store are the ones that I bought from places other than iTunes and I'm actually thinking about subscribing iTunes Match for several reasons:
    1. I don't just download music from iTunes, I sometimes also buy music on Amazon and Google Play.
    2. The music I bought on Amazon somehow  has lower volume(intensity level, i.e. not loud) sometimes.
    3. I did rip and still rip some music from CDs and it would be great if iTune can match it and then I can just stream them from iCloud.
    4. The quality of some of the music I ripped was not the highest quality and I would love to upgrade them without having to rip them all over again.
Now, here is my question. Will the songs stay if I only subscribe iTunes Match for a year only and then cancel the service? That means if I cancel the service a year later, can I still stream my music from iCloud? So the music I bought elsewhere is equivalent to the music I bought on iTunes (the music stays with my Apple ID). One more question, I heard that sometimes iTunes can't match your songs because the artist name or album name in your library are spelled or showed differently (',' rather than '/', "The" rather than "the"). If iTunes can find the right album artwork for my music, can I also assume it will match my songs without any problem? So all I have to do *if* iTunes can't find the music is to modify the artist name or/and album name?
That's it! Thank you in advance!

Do you know how iTunes match the music? For example, I ripped the CD "Rent [Film Soundtrack]" and there are actually two discs, so I have two album names Disc 1 and Disc 2 while iTunes version only has one album and with different name of course ("Rent (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)"). In this case, will iTunes Match work?If not, is there anyway that I can make it work?
As I mentioned, ID3 tags are not a factor in whether a track will match or not. The service uses a small "sonic fingerprint" of the file which it compares against an online database. So your ripped album having a slightly different Album name than what is is in the iTunes Store actually will not have any effect on the tracks matching or not.

Another thing is that I know I get to keep my music as long as it is in my HDD, but can I still stream my songs directly from iCloud after I cancel the subscription as if I bought them on iTunes?
    No.

  • How does Itunes Match work?

If I subscribe, does ITunes Match suck all of my songs off of my Imac and take them to the cloud, update them and return them to my hard drive - can I get the improved quality stuff back on my hard drive to replace the "inferior" stuff or does it stay in the cloud?
Next question - I have a bunch of songs in ITunes, more in a Music folder, and more in a downloads folder. I assume they should all be in ITunes to use ITunes match the best way. How do I get them out of the other folders into ITunes? Where should songs be on the computer (LION 10.75).

    First, Thanks.
So I couldget all of my musc into Itunes (still not sure how) including the music on my IPOD, transfer it by Match to the cloud.
To add music to iTunes either simply drag-n-drop it, or pull down File > Add to Library. For music that is only on an iPod see this user tip: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
    Rick Carlton wrote:
Then could I download them all to a seperate folder, throw away the older stuff, somehow transfer the new stuff back into ITunes, and have all new stuff on my HD and Time Machine Back-up?
There is no downloading, moving or "transfering" required. Everything is done directly in iTunes. Time Machine will then backup everything on the internal HDD.

One more question - if they go to the cloud, do they sta there so my wife's Ipad and Iphone can play them?
You wife will have to be logged into your iTunes Store account to access iTunes Match.

  • Does itunes match work with an airplay device?

This is the picture: speaker with airplay, iphone 4s and itunes match-account. Can I stream music (itunes match) from iphone to airplay speaker device?

Once your Iphone has located the airplay speaker you should be able to stream music without issue. Have you tried to get your phone and speaker working together? Once you do you should be able to stream your music no problem.

  • Why will iTunes Match work on my iPhone, but not on my MB Pro?

I have an annual Match subscription which I downloaded onto my MacBook.  I then enable Match on my iPhone and it works properly.  However, when I try to turn Match ON on my MacBook, it displays an ad asking me to subscribe again.  I can play the iTunes Radio just fine, except for the commercials, which is why I subscribed to Match in the first place.  I'm sure there's a step I'm missing somewhere.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
Have you signed into iTunes using same Apple ID before turning on match on your computer?
Did you subscribe to match from your iPhone or your computer?

  • Does iTunes Match work with iPhone3?

I purchased iTunes Match to work between my Macbook and my iphone 3, but I've read that "Match" doesn't work with iphone3. Is this true? If so, is it possible to get a refund?

You need iOS 5.0.1 or later to be able to use iTunes Match on your iOS device.

  • Does iTunes Match work with library in Dropbox?

Getting ready to drag and drop my iTunes music library files to Dropbox for backup reasons. Will then of course point iTunes to the new location.  Before I make the move, I'd like to first hear from users who, like me, are on iTunes Match but who, unlike me, have their library stored in Dropbox.  What has the iTunes Match experience been once library is up in the cloud?  Any concerns or dangers with this scheme?  Anything I should be aware about?
My situation is simple.  Not intending to share iTunes library with several computers, etc.  That's why I signed up for Match in the first place. Only copying library to Dropbox as a backup. But need, no require, iTunes Match to continue working seamlessly for me.
Thank you for your feedback.  Soon please.

Confirming that my disk space is mostly occupied by my music collection.  And after spending $99 for extra Dropbox storage, I am not about to purchase additional disk capacity for my MacBook.  How can I get out of this hole and is there a viable solution?
Can I confidently trash my iTunes folder, empty trash, connect my Time Capsule to my MacBook, launch/point iTunes to my most recent backup there, and then follow the steps given in
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449
without deleting the iTunes library/media backup at the end, of course?   In other words, copying directly from Time Capsule to my Dropbox.   Is this doable? Desirable?  Any dangers?

  • Why does itunes match work on some of my devices and not others

I have a Iphone 4, Iphone, Ipad 2, and a new Ipad.  recently i purchased itunes match and everything seems to work fine... then the new ipad lost all music.  all other devices are working properly.  it shows the music, but all tracks are 0:00 and cannot do anything with it.

Sounds like a simple local file corruption.  Would suggest re-installation of the application.

  • Does iTune Match work on missing songs?

I recently lost all my songs (sudden hard drive failure), and I'd like to know if iTunes Match would work on my library if all the songs are missing? The metadata is all there.
    Thanks in advance, and regards

    Hi,
No. The music need to be in your iTunes library and on your hard drive.

  • HT4914 How does iTunes match work with multiple Apple IDs?

I am trying to set up an iTunes Match account that complies the music of my whole family so that we can all acceess it from our devices. First, is it possible to upload music from multiple apple IDs and / or devices. And is it possible to then access the iTunes match library from multiple apple IDs? I know you can access the muysic from up to 10 devices but do they all have to be logged into the same apple ID to do so? Thanks for the help

You'll need to have the music on a computer or an external drive connected to it.

  • Sinchronyze iPhone without an Internet connection

Exactly.  You've answered your own question.

  • How can I get my app store and itunes to work in my iphone without dumping everything?

I have already dumped my phone twice to get itunes and the app store to work and it only lasts for a small time.  I don't want to dump all my info again and then get everything back to what it should be just to have the stores go down again.  Every time this happens some of my other apps don't work like they are suppose to work.  When I try to ask for help from "professionals" I am treated like no one knows what I am talking about, but every other person I know that has an apple product is having the same issue.  I don't know why it is not being fixed and why I am having to dump everything once or twice a week to keep my ipod and iphone working properly.  You have to dump everything and not restore from back up to get it work.  This is becoming completely unacceptable.  If anyone knows any tricks at all please let me know. (And I have tried the deauthorizing and reauthorizing stuff... it will only let deauthorizing and will not let me sign back in) Thanks.

You get the develop module to function properly by installing the standalone installation of Lightroom. If the develop module is disabled you still have the creative cloud installation. It will have to be removed. You can download from here:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Performing this uninstall/reinstall will have no impact on your images or the work you have done in Lightroom. The catalog and your images are left intact.

  • Getting books on the iPad without an internet connection?

Please help. I'm in Afghanistan and I have an iPad and a MBP. I can get the MBP on the internet that is provided here, but I can't put the iPad on the internet here. I have both iBooks and the Kindle app. Is there a way that I can buy books and get them to either of these two programs from my MBP without the iPad being connected to the internet?
    Thanks

I believe that the Kindle app needs an internet connection as it needs to connect to amazon.com in order to download content (the books aren't stored locally in iTunes on your pc/mac) - so though you'd be able to buy books at Amazon I don't think that you then get them onto your iPad without an internet connection.
I also think that iBooks needs an internet connection in order to purchase books from the iBook store, but you can use it via iTunes on MBP to copy PDFs or non-DRM ePub books from other sources.
