Does Keynote have a "fit show to music" option?

Dear Apple Community,
When creating slideshows in iPhoto, one can use the "fit show to music."  Does Keynote have a similiar feature?
Thanks,
Leland Nunes

Keynote has never had this feature.
You can edit the sound file start and end points:
select the file then:     Inspector > Format > Audio > Edit Audio
drag the trim handles to obtain the duration you want

Does Itunes have a solutions for playing music in a business setting?  Can you play your downloaded music in a business-overhead speakers?

Presuming you are referring to the iTunes Store, tracks purchased from that service are for personal use only and are not licensed for use in any commercial setting. You will need to either find a commercial service to provide music (easiest by far, though perhaps not the cheapest), or buy the appropriate CDs and then obtain a license from the various rights clearinghouses for playback in commercial use.

Does Keynote have an equivalent 'viewer' like  Powerpoint viewer?  How can I share my Keynote files with other non-Keynote folks?

As of July 31, 2012, you will no longer be able to access your documents on the iWork.com site or view them on the web.
    Now use iCloud instead: http://www.apple.com/icloud/
However, you must have an Apple device to create an iCloud account so Windows only users need to get to one before accessing your files.
About iCloud Control Panel for Windows v1.1
The iCloud Control Panel is required to use Photo Stream, Mail, Contacts and Calendars (Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later required) and Bookmarks (Safari 5.1.1 or Internet Explorer 8 or later required).
Note: To create an iCloud account you need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 5, or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.2 or later.

  • Does pages have an equivalent for Word's option of viewing a document in "online layout"?

Does pages have an equivalent for Word's option of viewing a document in "online layout"?

With online layout you can have the page of your document fill up as much of the screen as you want while being able to zoom the viewing of your text or words to any percentage you want. In pages, I can zoom or stretch the document to fit the full width of the screen, but the view the actual text or words themselves correspondingly enlarges as well.

  • HT200109 Why only sometimes does movies on Apple Tv show the buy option, I need it there all the time?

Why only sometimes does movies on Apple Tv show the buy option, I need it there all the time?

    Two reasons:
The movie companies control what Apple can sell/rent - sometimes they simply change it to purchase only or rental only.
Secondly, if your Settings for Itunes store are set to HD sometimes you won't see an option to purchase or even teh movie at all if it's only available in SD.
There are also sometimes discrepancies between iTunes on computer and AppleTV implying the stores work slightly differently or have different connections.  Check if it's available in iTunes.

  • HT4623 My ipad does not have the software update as an option. Is there another way to install os updates

My ipad does not have the software update as an option. Is there any other way to update the operating system? Thank you

Your tag line shows iOS 6. If you are running iOS 6 you should have it in the settings. Your tag line also shows iPad - so if you have the iPad 1 - you can only update to iOS 5.1.1 and you need a computer running iTunes.
So if You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
After you update to iOS 5 or later, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA.

When I open safari from the dock it opens as a small window at the top of the screen that is totally white and does not have a tool bar or exit options.  All I can do is force quit to exit.  What do I do?

With Safari open, press Command ,   (comma) to open Safari Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Turn that off, quit (or force quit) Safari then relaunch to test.

If you want to post your iPhoto slideshow to .Mac so others can easily view it you'll first have to export it as a Quicktime movie and then add the QT file to a movie page in iweb and publish that to .Mac.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Does Keynote have anything analogous to PPS (PowerPoint Show)?

I'm the lone Mac operator in a company of 200 which utilizes PowerPoint extensively...Love Keynote and prefer to use it to create necessary presentations, but these need to be shared and exporting to PowerPoint results in transition and type screw-ups. Does anyone know if there is now (or under development) something akin to exporting to PowerPoint Show, a multi-platform (including Windows) self-executable file?

If the presentations do not need to be edited, your best cross-platform option is to convert them to QuickTime movies.

  • I want to download digital stamps but would need to change the size to fit my project. Does keynote have the ability to change picture size?

I'm trying to find a app that will allow me to change the size of a digital stamp. I have heard that Adobe Photoshop will allow me to do this but that is outside of my price range right now. Would Keynote allow me to do this?

sorry the website went down for maintenance during my last reply.
Yes Keynote will work OK as a print application for standard image formats;  TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PICT
Drag and drop as many graphics as you want on to a page.
Disply the ruler;   view menu > ruler
Go into  Keynote menu > Preferences   and set the Ruler to inches or centimeters
you can then drag a guide line out from the ruler to help size the graphic to the measurement you want
ruler set to inches to measure a 5" x 3" box

  • How do I make my keynote or iMovie slide show (with music) into a DVD, without iDVD as I don't have it and you can no longer purchase from Apple.

I am new to Apple, since Oct '11.  ( iDVD did not come with this laptop).  I am making a slide show in keynote and can't download to iDVD to make it into a DVD that I can play on any home player. As far as I know, I need to make it into a quicktime file, then find some 3rd party software to convert to DVD. Has anyone had any luck with this.  I think I may just purchase an old copy of iLife from Amazon...

  • Does Apple have the right to remove music from my HDD?

Not only are tunes I purchased missing from my library (the name, the duration, the artist, etc. are still listed) but also from my hard drive. I'd downloaded a free album and it appeared in my library for a while and then, after an recent update to iTunes, it and many other tunes are missing from my library and hard drive.

I'm not sure that's the right question. For instance, when you sync an iPod, iTunes will be adding and removing files from the iPod's hard drive as a normal part of the operation. I'm fairly certain however, that the Software License Agreement that you acknowlegded when you installed iTunes will absolve Apple of liability for any loss of data that may occur directly or indirectly through the use of their software. It is your responsibiliity to back up any and all data that matters to you.
When you say the files are missing, do you mean that there are entries in the library that come up with the exclamation symbol or that the entries themselves have been removed? Have you actually tried searching your hard drive in case these files not been migrated properly and are simply not where iTunes now expects them to be?
    *Adding new items/removing orphans*
Try iTunes Folder Watch or iTunes Library Updater. Folder Watch is much faster on the adding files front, can be set to run in the background and includes a useful exclusion feature, however it’s really slow at removing orphans. iTLU is better for this although doing it manually after looking at a list of proposed removals generated by Folder Watch is probably faster still. iTLU can also be set to update iTunes when you've used 3rd party tools to change tag info.
These tools can either be used directly or to guide you in the process of moving data to where iTunes expects to find it.
