Does Keynote support all Arabic fonts?

I have Keynote 9.0 on Snow Leopard and it writes Arabic but using a limited number of system fonts. The majority of common Arabic typefaces are not supported, example GE Fonts. Is this a set up issue on my side?

You cannot use Windows fonts to write Arabic in most Mac apps (TextEdit is the exception). The two platforms use different technologies for complex scripts like that.

In general all iWork apps have bugs that make them unsuitable for RTL scripts for most purposes. Copy/paste from another app may work best. A note that may be useful is at

Keynote uses OpenGL hardware acceleration for animation. So yes, if you have a decent GPU then animation may run smoother. That being said, a K5000 is complete overkill for something like Keynote. Even the Intel HD4000 graphics on my Macbook Air runs Keynote animations very smoothly.

2.If iphone5 currently support all bandclasses(1,3,5,13,25) for verizon? Or only bandclass 13 is limited by iphone5 when using verizon's lte network no matter which lte bandclass is currently supported by verizon?

I'm fairly confident that the iPad doesn't support them all. It supports the most common variants, certainly. Adobe is pretty much always in the process of constructing a new variant of PDF to keep the open-source crowd at bay.
It isn't quite accurate to talk of "iPad" PDF support either. The iPad supports only what iPad apps support. If they wanted to, Adobe could write their own iPad app that supported all PDF variants. The iPad may even have better PDF support than MacOS X. There is a GeoPDF app for the iPad, but not for MacOS X.

Why "In Design" doesn't support "OTF" Arabic fonts?

In our company, we are using Adobe InDesign CS3 for all of our issues.
All of the Text Format is: (Justifies all lines) option (as attached image)
and also we should (as a magazines) set Justification to: "Arabic" - not "Standard"
So, What is the problem?

We exported file to PDF with selecting the First option (Arabic) and (Kashidah "on")
then all of the Text Character well be garbage! when we copy it from PDF Reader to another programs
and so we can't copy any correct Text from the PDF file!
But with selecting other option (Standard), Arabic text well be excellent while the format well not be good (many spaces between words)
Also:
It's strange that If I Change the same font to (TTF), all of the options well working fine!
So, any body can help us? please

Does keynote have Trade Gothic font?

I need to do a presentation on the font Trade Gothic. Only problem is I can't find the font in PowerPoint or InDesign. How about Keynote?

If the fon't isn't on your computer then keynote won't have it. All applications use the same font list. If you want a copy of trade gothic you'll have to pay I'm afraid. Does keynote support multiple (3) displays?

I am trying to run keynote on 2 additional monitors from an iMac. One monitor is a projector & the other a 65" plasma. I am using a Newer Technology display adapter, USB to HDMI, for the plasma display. It has no problem working with ProPresenter, but I can't get anything for Keynote.

Does the Treo 608 1.12 row update support all locations?

Hi. I am the delighted user of a Treo 680 running in French, and I am stuck by the 4GB expansion card limitation, so I need the 1.12 update. It is available since January 15, 2008 on the US support side, but not yet on the French one. Could anybody tell me if the US posted version is compatible with the French location?

I went to the Europe region support page to find indeed the same update, which is there called 2.12 (no date, same size)
But the same question arises: it is English (UK) only or does it support all native languages of the 680?
(I could try it out but don't know how to recover if the Treo is left in an unpredictable state)

OK, we've got it!
What is happening is that when you use Microsoft's save as PDF in Word, the font isn't embedded even though the font is tagged to allow embedding. Furthermore, Microsoft doesn't properly put the font name into the PDF file such that Acrobat or Reader can readily find the font installed on your system such that the text can be properly displayed and/or printed. Acrobat and Reader attempt to display and/or print the text using a “substitution font” and of course, as they say, YMMV (“your mileage may vary”)!
I personally submitted the report of this problem (both the embedding and the font name problem) to Microsoft. They acknowledge the bug, tried a fix and provided me a build with it, but it wasn't right. Maybe they will ultimately fix it, maybe they won't. We don't know yet. We do know that if it is fixed, it will be fixed only for Office 2013 (problem occurs with all Office applications since they use the same PDF generation code) and thus such a fix won't help you.
Adobe Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro both provide an Adobe PDFMaker plug-in to Office applications (including full support for Office 2010) that adds an Acrobat Toolbar as well as a Save as Adobe PDF menu item. The resultant PDF file fully supports embedding of OpenType CFF, TrueType, and Type 1 fonts and in many other ways produces much superior PDF with a full range of PDF generation options not available with the Microsoft PDF. (Note that beginning with Office 2013, Microsoft does not support Type 1 fonts in Office documents at all, even for existing documents!) The Acrobat Office functions are widely used and respected in the end user community and whatever “issues” there are (all software has “issues” of some type - it is a matter of how many and how severe), you should be in much better shape for PDF production that with what you currently are using.
