Does LabVIEW 8.6 support the NXT toolkit?

Does LabVIEW 8.6 support the NXT toolkit?, the NXT toolkit 1.0.1 patch does not give instructions on how to load it with LabVIEW 8.6.   Does anyone know how to load the patch with LabVIEW 8.6?
LEGOAustin

Hi LEGOAUSTIN,
Check out the forum dedicated to Lego: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=beta18. It is largely community driven but sometimes NI employees post.
I would also talk to Lego about NXT support. Check out his KB on the issue: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/59F9356834A0E85086257244007A3354?OpenDocument.
What I can give you in the meantime is to ensure you've done the right order:
Install the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Toolkit v1.0
Restart the computer
Install the LEGO patch 1.0.1
As for explicit support in LabVIEW 8.6, it doesn't appear to be any right now and I cannot comment on the future.
A quick Google Search came up with this as a possible work around: http://forums.nxtasy.org/index.php?showtopic=3277

  • Teaching LabVIEW to engineering students: is the NXT Toolkit recommended?

We have used NXT kits in our freshmen engineering design course with great success.  We may overhaul our curriculum to replace ROBOLAB with the LabVIEW NXT Toolkit (our second choice would be NXT-G).  We would like to give our students an early exposure to LabVIEW.  We are hesitant about the sparse documentation and programming sophistication needed to effectively use the Toolkit.  However, we believe we can overcome these concerns by locating and/or developing appropriate teaching materials.
We would appreciate hearing comments and/or experiences regarding the suitability of the Toolkit for this purpose.  We are especially interested in knowing if further documentation (beyond the three PDF’s on the NI website) is available or planned.  If anyone else is teaching the Toolkit in engineering courses, we would be very interested in a mutual exchange of course materials.
Thank you in advance for any guidance!

    Matthew,
I am currently in the process of getting some resources together that might prove very helpful for you.  If you look at this site,
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5221
you'll see some labs that were made in the NXT-G software for a high-profile university.  They were used in a freshman entry-level engineering lab and they proved highly successful for all involved.
I'm working on getting them ported over to a LabVIEW version that uses the NXT toolkit, but by looking at the labs you'll see that this is a process that could probably be done on your end without much of a time investment.
I'll try to let you know when I'm done with the project and can share the labs with you!

  • Does DS 5.2 support the PKIX schema defined in RFC2587?

    hi,
please, can anybody answer me this:
    1. does DS 5.2 support the schema defined in RFC2587
    (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2587.txt)?
...a minimal schema to support PKIX in an LDAPv2 environment...
    2. if so, please can you explain how i go about configuring DS 5.2 for RFC
2587? or point me to the documentation?
    3. if it doesn't support RFC 2587 out of the box, what schema(s) does DS
    5.2 support by default?
thanks in advance for your help.

i think i have worked out what i need to do to make DS 5.2 rfc2587-compliant (i have also worked out - by rtfm - that it doesn't by default ;).

Does Acrobat XI Pro support the feature of syncing settings in Creative Cloud? I downloaded this software from my Creative Cloud account but I do not find the sync settings option in it. Is this feature not available?

    No it doesn't.
Acrobat isn't part of the Creative Cloud product range, it is included in the CC subscription packages but it doesn't include features of the "... CC" products such as Sync or Typekit.

  • Does Photoshop Elements 12 Support the MWG Face Region Metadata Standard?

I'm looking at the trial version of PhotoShop Elements 12. I see that it is possible to use the Organizer to automatically recognize faces and to manually define Face Regions in images.
These then appear as People Tags in the Organizer.
However, if I save the Metadata to the file, People Tags just seem to be added as IPTC/Core Keywords. I was hoping that PE12 would at least support the Metadata Working Group's Face Region standard, and that People Tags would be saved as XMP using the MWG-RS schema.
Would someone more familiar with PE12 please confirm whether PE12 does or does not support the MWG standard?
If it doesn't support it, then that's a disappointment, particularly considering the standard has been around since November 2010, and that Adobe is a founding member of the Metadata Working Group.

The point about whether to use an automatic process or not is a separate issue. I can understand that some people would not want to use it. However, even doing it manually in PE12 does not use the MWG standard.
Thanks for the pointer to the thread, which I note was started 2 years ago, with the last comment a year ago.
From that, I draw the conclusion that the PE developers see this as a very low priority. All the more reason for me to look at competitor products that do support this standard (e.g. Picasa and Photo Supreme).
    Thanks again.

  • Does labview for linux support 3D graphs?

I have a vi that is created on labview for windows and it has a 3D graph; now i would like to switch to labview for linux. I would like to know whether labview for linux supports 3D graph. Also is it possible to convert the existing windows based vi to linux?

No, the 3D graph in LabVIEW is an Active X control and therefore a
Widnows only feature. If the graphics are not to complicated you may try
to look into drawing your own 3D graphs into a picture control which
would work on any LabVIEW platform. Other than that you would have to
rely on external packages to do 3D graphics under Linux.

  • Why does LabVIEW 2009 revert to the old icon editor?

    Hi,
I have noticed that sometimes when I am trying to edit the icon in LabVIEW 2009, I get the old style icon editor from LabVIEW 8.5 days instead of the more advanced new one with layers, gliphys, etc.  Once the old style editor shows up, there doesn't seem to be a way to go back to the advanced editor.  Has anyone seen this behaviour?  I have version 8.5 of LabVIEW still installed, should I remove it?  Do I need to restart my computer?
    Thanks.

I feel so bad for you, you should use HTML5. It works great, iuf you need some HTML5 player code ill post it.
I feel pretty badly for you. As a web designer, I know that HTML5 (HyperText Markup Language version 5) is a standard for the design compliance of the code in web pages, and NOT a player. There is no such thing as user installable "HTML5 player code", as you describe it. Either a browser is standards compliant, or it isn't. You can't just put  a plug-in into it and make it do something the engine is incapable of.
No, I wasnt implying you install some app or anything, if any webpage you visit is used as a HTML5 player then android should be able to play the video. I have had great sucess with HTML5,  Code such as:
    <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>HTML5 with Video</title>  <!--[if lt IE 9]> <script src="http://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script> <![endif]-->  </head> <body>  <!--begin video--> <video width="500" height="325" poster="Your_poster_image.jpg" controls> <!--these are legitimate 6 sec, sample videos for testing purposes.--> <source src="http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.ogv" type="video/ogg"> <source src="http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.mp4" type="video/mp4"> NOTE: If you see this, you're using an outdated browser that doesn't support the video tag. </video> <!--end video-->  </body> </html>

  • Does labview 5.0 support serial communication at a baud rate of 115200?

When I try to initialise my serial port at 115200 baud rate I get error 32, device paramter error. I'm running labview 5.0. Can anyone help me with this?

I use Serial Port Init.vi to set the baud rate to 115200 with no problem in LabView 5.0 under Windows 95.
    I get error 38 when I try a non-supported baud rate.
Do you get the error when you run Serial Port Init.vi directly or just when you call it from your VI? On the diagram where you call Serial Port Init.vi, try placing a probe on the wire going to the baud rate input of Serial Port Init to see what value it's trying to set. You will have a problem going to 115200 if the control on your VI is represented as I16 or U8 or if the data range max doesn't go to 115200.

  • Why does Labview insert quotations in the case structure selector box?

I was building a case structure with an array of strings.  So, I copied the strings from the array on the FRONT PANEL directly into the SELECTOR LABEL.  My 3 strings have the form; to me, these are 5- character strings with spaces, or 7 characters if you count the spaces as string characters
    A, B, C
    A, B, D
    A, B, E
So, when I copied and pasted them directly into the selector box A, B, C appeared as "A", "B", "C" and A, B, D appeared as "A", "B", "C" and then I got an error for selector values not unique.  Why didn't it appear as "A, B, C"?
Why did it transform the string I pasted and insert the quotation marks?  I used no quotation marks in my array.  Does the selector label interpret commas as functional characters that require quotation marks??
    Thanks,
    Dave

Actually in CASE STRUCTURE, any frame can have multiple values as 'Case Selector value' and these are separated by a comma. Also if you choose to operate a CASE STRUCTURE using string, it will automatically prefixs & suffixs quotes (") to that string.
But you can enter  "A, B, C" manually and it will remain as it is. But if you copy and paste A, B, C, the CASE STRUCTURE will automatically change it to "A", "B", "C".
I am not allergic to Kudos, in fact I love Kudos.

  • Does Weblogic 5.1 support the STANDARD javax.servlet.request.X509Certificate attribute?

    Hello!
My strong suspicion from looking at the Weblogic SSL documentation on
http://e-docs.bea.com is that WebLogic SSL does not put any client-side
    certificates into the 'javax.servlet.request.X509Certificate' attribute
of a servlet's HttpServletRequest (as an array of
    java.security.cert.X509Certificate instances).
Currently, it appears that Weblogic uses a proprietary attribute name
('weblogic.security.somethingOrOther') and returns instances of the
    deprecated Java 1.1 java.security.Certificate class.
When will Weblogic support this aspect of the Servlet 2.2 specification,
    if it doesn't already?
    Regards,
    James W.

I just verified this with the Java doc. Either the Java documentation is
incorrect or we are still using the older version of the certificate
encoding class. I will check on this, we may have fixed it in a subsequent
    service pack.
    Thanks,

  • Does Netweaver 7.0 support the AL32UTF8 character set?

We are running Netweaver 7.0 for a Vendavo solution running on Oracle 10.2.   We have created the Vendavo schema within the same database as Netweaver.  Vendavo documentation states the character set be AL32UTF8.  SAP sets the character set on Netweaver install to just UTF8.  Does anyone know if Netweaver 7.0 supports changing the DB character set to AL32UTF8?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes you can as AL32UTF8 is a superset of UTF8 - this is supported. Please check the following note.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/456968
The above note also discusses how to change database character sets.
Also check the following FAQ SAP Note on Oracle Character Sets.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/606359
Moreover the SAP NW 7 installation sets the Oracle NLS to UTF8 which is find. Note NLS and Database character set is not the same, please check the following sap note for the same.

    Hope this helps.

  • Does MSI P67A-C45 supports the latest Sandy bridge Celeron (G530,540 etc)

    Hello all,
Firstly, I'm the new user here, and I found this forum when I'm in the process of 'googleing' for my new system problems...
Okay, I'm the 'proud' user of MSI P67A-C45 motherboard and due to some sort of fund problems, I just bought this mobo and use the lowest end Sandy Bridge line processor, which is Celeron G540 processor. After getting the enough money somewhere around March next year, I will straightly change my processor to Core i5-2500K (which I assume it will be more cheaper than now)... After installing everything on my new rig, suddenly there are no BIOS shown up at all. The power is available, all of the LED's as well as my heat sink fan are running finely. I'm suspecting that this kind of mobo does not support Celeron G540 processor... So how? Anyone here can help me to resolve this problems... It really ruined my day and now I'm typing this on my netbook which irritating.... Some of my friends said that it must be BIOS related problems... because Celeron is just launched recently and perhaps the BIOS bundled with my motherboard are the older one..... Below is my full rig specification...
Processor : Intel Celeron G540 Processor
    Motherboard : MSI P67A-C45 (B3)
RAM : Corsair Value RAM 8GB DDR3 1333MHz (two sticks of 4GB RAM each)
    GPU : Sapphire HD6750
    Power SUpply : Xigmatek NRP-PC502  500W
    Casing : CM Elite 431
    HDD : Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
    SSD : Mushkin 60GB SATA-III SSD
** Planning to replace send back the celeron to the seller and change it to Core i3-2100, Core i3 is usable or not with this mobo?
Thanks guys and I really apologize for my bad English... It's not my mother-tongue language actually

Quote from: Henry on 26-December-11, 07:54:09
You have BIOS 1.9 which should support all of the CPU's you mentioned.
Have you plugged in the 4 pin CPU power (JPWR2) on MB & 6 pin to video card PCIe power plugs?
Yes, I already connected 4-pin cpu power as well as 6-pin PCIe power connector both to my motherboard and graphic card, but the system still refuse to shown up the POST screen... :(  BTW, I already change the processor from Celeron G540 to Core i3 2100... Waiting for the stock available from the seller...

  • Does Lightroom 5.7 support the Canon 7D MkII for tethered shooting?

I have two computers with LR 5.7. I can not get the Canon 7d II to do tethered capture on either one. The tethering tool bar flashes between " Canon 7D Mk II" and "No Camera Detected". The 7D MkII is not one of the cameras listed on the Adobe web site that will do tethered shooting. Given that LR5.7 supports that camera for Camera RAW, why wouldn't it also be able to do tethered capture? Or is there something else I'm missing?

According to the document Tethered camera support in Lightroom the new 7d II is not currently supported in Lr 5.7.
