Does LabVIEW DSC 8.5 support Windows Server 2008?

Hi,
I am developing a SCADA system using LabVIEW DSC 8.5. Apparently, customer wants the Server Computer to be latest Windows Server 2008 operating System.
But the Release and Upgrade note specify that DSC Module does not support Windows NT/Me/98/95/Server 2003. (System Requirement section)
Does it support Windows server 2008?
Any feedback most appreciated.

Hi Vsh
Sadly no version of LabVIEW (and therefor no modules like DSC either) officially supports Server 2008. That has however not stopped people from trying and I've seen both cases were it has worked fine and cases were it has not worked. This thread might be of interest to you.

  • Does XI 3.1 SP2 support Windows Server 2008 Release 2?

In the supported platforms guide for Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 it lists support for Windows Server 2008 but I'm curious if it will support 2008 Release 2???

2012 R2 is not mentioned (that article is over two years old),
Would be kinda hard to mention a non-existent operating system in a 2 year old blog post, eh?
Maybe the Blog entry could be updated?
There's no need to update the blog post once you understand the specifics of the update. The update introduces NEW functionality required for ALL operating systems from Windows 8 forward.
Also, maybe you shouldn't be so literal in your search efforts? :-) Think outside the box a bit, eh? Understand *why* the update was created. What does the update do that makes WSUS v3 work for Win8/WS2012. Is there some reason that wouldn't work for subsequent
operating systems? You didn't have the update anyway, did it never cross your mind.. "Hey.. maybe I should do this... anyway?"
Nevermind the hundreds of conversations in this forum about KB2734608 and the dozens of times Win8.1 or WS2012R2 is mentioned in those conversations.

  • Does AsyncOS 6.5.1-005 support Windows Server 2008 LDAP?

Does AsyncOS 6.5.1-005 for the E-mail Security Appliance support Windows Server 2008 authentication?

    Hello rklebano,
Can you give some more side information? What are you pointing at, can you explain what you try to accomplish and what the problem is you are facing?
To share some of my experiences with you: I have queried a Win2k8 domain from a non Windows host (a Perl script running on Linux) using basic authentication. If you make sure your windows policy allows basic authentication for the userID you are using it will work. You can even query your Global Catalog, which is better indexed, using this logon type.
If you are forced to use MS propriety logon types I assume that Ironport will not be able to connect.
    Steven.
    Hi Steven,
We are trying to achieve a native Server 2008 AD domain. Unfortunately our WSA and ESA's are unable to use Server 2008 domain controllers to authenticate against. The WSA have a preview version of AsyncOS 6.0 (Aurora) that supports 2008 AD authentication. I was wondering if there was a version of the AsyncOS for the ESA that supports that as well.

  • When will Oracle 10g/11g support Windows Server 2008 and AIX6.1

    Hi all
I'm sorry if I post it in a wrong place... But I really want to know when will Oracle 10g/11g support Windows Server 2008 and AIX 6.1?
I've searched in metalink but found nothing useful. Is there anybody can give me a link of Oracle's roadmap for platform support?
    Thanks!

Oracle does not announce release dates and neither
does any other software company. But Oracle does have a very good track record of supporting their products on new windows releases extremely close to the windows release date. Clearly they can't support on an unreleased platform though. Given that the launch of Server 2008 isn't even complete worldwide yet (19th March in the UK for example) it would seem that this enquiry is a little premature.

  • Does the lnkfix_vista.zip work for window server 2008 R2 enterprise ?

All icons on my exchange 2010 server show as .lnk, any icon I click on starts notepad... does the lnkfix_vista.zip work on Windows server 2008 R2 enterprise ?
    thank you.

This issue because there is no SPN for the Front End pool FQDN. Rather than adding an SPN I just deleted my front end server from the topology builder and added a new one using the FQDN of the actual lync server and it worked fine.

  • Bluetooth Driver does not install or work on Windows Server 2008 R2

Bluetooth is the only hardware device on my T500 which is not working in Windows Server 2008 R2. Even leveraging the Bluetooth stack copied over from Win7 it is not possible to use the Broadcom BT on the PC.

Very good. According to the version number, you are on the original release of CR XI R2. This release did not support WIN 2008 Server. You will have to update the development computer to SP 6. SP 6 is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100015859952009E/crxir2win_sp6.exe
Recompile the app. Uninstall the runtime from the client box. Create a new deployment project using the SP 6 runtime.

  • Cisco NAC 4.8.3 supports Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard?

I´m looking at this document: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/48/cas/s_adsso.html#wp1301231 and I´m not clear if Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1 is supported.  The documentation refers to Windows 2008 Server SP2 and Windows 2008 Server R2, but I see no specific mention to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1.

    Hi,
Do you remember making any changes to the computer prior to this issue? Please unplug
all external devices connected to the system and try booting in Normal mode.
Can you into safe mode, you may try startup repair using the Windows 7 installation DVD and check if it works.

  • Librfc32 support on Windows server 2008

    Hi,
We at Trango Software (division of Siemens Enterprise Networks) are currently using the SAP Remote Function Call runtime as a part of our product (librfc32.dll, File Version 6403.3.55.4580). We will be supporting Windows Server 2008 platform from our product's next release. We are assessing compatibility on Windows Server 2008 platform of all the third-party libraries and tools that are part of our product.
We would like to know if the SAP remote function call runtime dll (librfc32.dll) is currently supported with Windows Server 2008. If not, we would like to know when (tentatively) it is expected to be supported.
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello,
have you configured the accounts to have the permission "Log on as a service"? I have seen that this is not given to the account and therefore the service fails to start.

  • OBIEE installation on Windows Server 2008

Does anyone have OBIEE running on Windows Server 2008? We bought 2 new Dell servers and they no longer sell Windows 2003 licenses. I know only the latest version 10.1.3.4 is supported and only on a 32-bit emulation. I don't think Hyperion Reporting is supported for Windows 2008 which we also planned on putting on the servers.

This isn't a very helpful response to your question, but if the software cannot be run under Server 2008, you do have the option of installing it into a VMWare image on that server, and mapping that image as an IP address, much the same as Oracle's BIC2G image. Not an ideal solution, I know.

  • Windows Server 2008 x64 and Crystal Reports Server Embedded

We're attempting to certify our software with Windows Server 2008 x64 and want to know the best way to configure both the server and client of Crystal Reports Server Embedded.  Currently, our software is certified against Windows Server 2003 x86, and we install Crystal Reports Server Embedded XI Release 2 (no SP) on the application server, and we deploy the Crystal Reports .NET merge modules for XI Release 2 (no SP) on any client machines.
I believe I am correct in stating that no version of Crystal Reports Server Embedded officially supports Windows Server 2008 x64 (based on some other forum postings) until SP1 comes out (which I don't think has happened at this point).  If that is true, we can live with installing the RAS on a separate Windows Server 2003 x64, if that's even possible.  With that said, can we even get our Windows Server 2008 x64 running with the latest Crystal Reports 2008 .NET merge modules?  We've tried many different configurations between CR XI R2 SPs and CR 2008 for both client and server and have very little luck (either it won't install correctly because of x64 or missing .cabs, etc.) on both the client and server side of things.
Can someone suggest the optimal configuration when Windows Server 2008 x64 is in the mix, noting that we can use a secondary Windows Server 2003 (x64 preferred but can fallback to x86)?  Or do we have to wait for Crystal Reports Server Embedded 2008 SP1 to be released, and if so, does anyone know of the date?
    Thanks,
    Ross Beehler

CRSE 2008 is a 32 bit app, it works on 64 bit OS's but all parts must also be running in 32 bit mode.

  • Problem of SAPConsle 7.10 (Patch 13) on Windows server 2008 R2 (64bit)

My company is moving from server 2003 to Server 2008 R2 (64bit). We installed SAPConsole 7.10 (Patch level 13) on test server without any problem and configured the profiles in SAPConsole administrator. However when we running the sapcnsl.exe from command prompt, it prompt with error message "*** ERROR => ***AgCom (006FC558): Error: Internal error" and failed to get the SAP login screen.
I checked SAP Note 1043241 saying SAPConsole 710 as patch level 7 could support Windows server 2008 (32/64bit) both.
Can anyone help advise on my issue? or is there anyone has testl the SAPConsole 710 on Server 2008 R2 64bit successfully?
    Thank you very much!

    Hello Jackcd,
I am not an expert in this area but I did a message search for "AgCom error internal error" and I found a message where the customer solved the problem by using a patch. In the customers own words:

  • Is there a restriction to install ODBO driver on Windows Server 2008 64bits

For SAP BusinessObjects Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) version 7.5 Microsoft it is possible to connect with Xcelsius using an ODBO provider installed on the BPC server. In the installation Guide for BPC it is specified the need to add following key to the registry:
    http://HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\ODBO
    "SupportedProviders"="BPCMDX.4"
When installing on a Windows Enterprise Server 2003 64 bits I can find the registry three path to http://HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\ODBO . On a Windows Enterprise Server 2008 64 bits I cannot see the key path.
I copy below the paragraph regarding ODBO driver from BPC 7.5 Installation Guide:
    Prerequisites
    The following software is installed:
n SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP02 (see Downloading and Installing the Central Management System
    page 15).
n Microsoft Visual C+ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update+
on the Planning and Consolidation Web server and SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
XI 3.1 SP02 server for Voyager or a Universe. You can download the installer from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID
    =766a6af7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2 and choose vcredist_x86.exe.
    Procedure
    1. Download the Planning and Consolidation ODBO provider from the SAP Download area by
selecting Downloads Installations & Upgrades on the SAP Service Marketplace.
    2. Navigate to <drive>:\odbo and run the client.exe file.
    3. Add the Planning and Consolidation ODBO provider to the Data Driver by entering this registry
    setting:
    http://HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\ODBO
    "SupportedProviders"="BPCMDX.4"

I found the answer, Xcelsius 2008 SP3 is not supported on Windows Server 2008.
Before trying to use more products please check the supported platforms for all products. For example you can see in Xcelsius documentation that SAP Business Objects Xcelsius 2008 SP3 is not supported on Windows Server 2008. This means that, even if BPC 7.5M supports Windows Server 2008, it is not possible to use both BPC 7.5M and Xcelsius 2008 SP3 on a Windows Server 2008.
