Does LabVIEW run on Windows XP Home?

I want to run a LabVIEW executable on a netbook and a lot of them run Windows XP Home.  Has anyone ever tried a LabVIEW executable on Windows XP Home?  The executable uses a serial port or USB serial port.
Thanks,
   Javi

I don't know about the serial/USB stuff, but I'm running LabVIEW 8.6.1 on my Acer Aspire ONE netbook with Windows XP Home and things are great. (I even wrote a blog entry about it).

Yes, it should do. (It runs on Starter, so it should work on Home Basic.)

  • Will LabVIEW run in Windows Azure ?

Will LabVIEW run in Windows Azure? If not, why not?

Hi, I'm on the NI cloud team, and thought I'd chime in here even though the thread's old. We've been doing work with both the Amazon and Azure clouds.
We have LabVIEW working on Amazon just fine, in fact the LabVIEW FPGA Compile Cloud that's in beta right now is hosted on Amazon EC2.
We've been working with Microsoft Azure as well.  I haven't yet tried to deploy LabVIEW on it, it should be possible to try as of the Azure 1.3 release by using a startup task although those may have an eventual timeout (LV installs take a while). Azure role instances are not meant to be long running and the disk on them is completely ephemeral. Probably using a VM role would be better. This isn't guaranteed to work because various low level drive stuff may run afoul of the limitations (Azure isn't *quite* stock Win2008R2, it does have limitations). The wrinkle will probably be licensing. We had to bypass our own usual licensing scheme to work on the dynamic cloud for Amazon.
This is a good candidate for the idea exchange, perhaps I'll add on there too.

  • Better privecy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers?

    Question
better privacy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers? edit
    Details

As a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
    C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
    Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.
    Any luck?

  • Does Safari run in Windows Server 2008 R2 (Terminal Services)?

does Safari run in Windows Server 2008 R2 (Terminal Services)?

    Hi Jess,
Here are two things I suggest you check:
The Monitoring interval is set to 900 minutes, would the profile size get reduced after 15 hours and run
    gpupdate/force?
Since the Sessenv.dll version is higher than the ones described in KB 2575946, the issue is supposed to be fixed. I suggest you run System File Checker to scan all protected system files.
In addition, you can also collect Gpsvc.log to determine if policies are applied successfully.
    More information for you:

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • Photoshop 6 & 7 does not install under Windows 7 Home Premium

I recently updated from Vista Home Premium SP2 to Windows 7 Home Premium.
Now I need to re-install my Adobe Photoshop 6 to be able to upgrade to Photoshop 7.
When I try to run the Adobe setup.exe as administrator, setup starts, the cpu load goes up but
then the setup disappears without error message.
I tried all the different compatibility modes (Win95, 98, 2000, xp, Vista) - no success.
    Can anybody help please?

    Hi Bineesh,
just to avoid confusion: I'm not talking about Adobe Photoshop "Elements", the product is Adope Photoshop 6 & 7, both
    predessors of Adobe Photoshop CS.
Both Photoshop 6 & 7 were running with Vista SP1, which was the pre-installed OS on my Laptop, and I had installed
both Photoshop versions under Vista with no problem.
Before trying to install Win7 Home Premium, I ran a full data backup, then I tried Windows Easy Transfer to save my
    data on external disk.
When I tried to install Win7 using the upgrade option, this failed. So I did a complete fresh new installation of Windows 7
and used Win Easy Transfer to import my data. This, however, did not work properly.
I therefor formatted the disk and did a complete new Win7 install, afterwards I did a data revovery to import my data.
Photoshop 6 runs under Win7, however PS7 does not, giving the message "No personalization data found- reinstrall".
I cannot reinstall, because the PS7 is an upgrade from PS6, and when I try to reinstall, it says that no product is found.
I therefor tried to reinstall PS6 as well, which does not work under Win7.
When I check the event log after failed installation, this is what it says:

  • Does Thinkpad T420 with Windows 7 home Premium support Windows 10 update

Does the Thinkpad T420 running windows 7 Home Premium support the windows 10 upgrade? Also, my machine is very slow to start (3- 4 minutes). Will the upgrade to windows 10 help this issue?

The T420 is not supported by Lenovo for Win 10. That doesn't mean that it would not mostly work, but it does mean that you will certainly have some 'adventures, along the way, and may find that some things just don't work with Win 10 - whether those things are important few you will depend very much on how you use your T 420.

Due to the LONG TIME required to build an installer with exe, and this kind of DAQ issues http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=324343&query.id=1071542#M324343
I want to just give the user the Labview run time engine 8.6 LVRTE86std.exe  http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1101/lang/en , and ask them to copy paste the exe.
But does the LVRTE86std.exe contains all the necessary dependency for DAQ? Including the Sound and Vibration dependencies required for DAQ? Is there some document I can look up to see whether LVRTE86std.exe supports DAQ and I dont have to build an installer of my own?

No, the runtime does not include DAQmx. It does not include any hardware drivers. That is discussed in numerous posts.

  • Mid-2007 iMac Running Mavericks Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Install

How do I go about installing a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (OEM) partition on a mid-2007 iMac running Mavericks?
Apple  says that 64-bit Windows 7 isn't supported by my model iMac, but I know  for a fact that other people have gotten it to work. I'm just a little  unclear on how exactly to do it. In any case, I made the mistake of  buying two copies of Windows 7 64-bit under the assumption that they  would install just fine on my iMac and MacBook Pro (MacBook Pro is from 2007 as well), so I need to get  this working.
What version of Boot Camp should I use? What version  support drivers should I download? Apple says that Boot Camp 5.1, which  is what I have, is incompatible with my iMac, and it says the same  thing for every driver download that supports 64-bit versions of Windows  7, but would it be correct to say that this "incompatibility" is only the case if I don't  first modify my Windows 7 installation disc according to the  instructions in the attached link?
There is a Windows XP  partition on my MacBook Pro, so I figure I can get on it to modify the  installation disc before attempting a 64-bit Windows 7 install on the  iMac.

  • Will Lightroom 3 run under Windows 7 Home Premium?

I'm about to upgrade my OS to Windows 7 Home Premium and wonder if Lightroom 3 will run under this OS? The  Release Notes identify "Home Premium" as a suitable version of Vista, but don't make any mention of the "flavours" within Windows 7 - just "Windows 7". I don't want to upgrade to an OS that won't support Lightroom 3.

People have reported online that they have had no issues with the LR3 on Win 7 Home Premium.
