JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection. It has those fields only for MSMQ. Our Production environment does not allow us to connect to JMS (we use Tibco EMS) anonymously, so it prevents us from use of Data Integrator. Is there any way to pass those params, or obtain the correct version of JMS Adapter, or obtain source codes of the JMS Adapter so we can correct them ourselves (we can send you the corrected sources back) ? How to set the display ratio of master and detail view

Currently, I use SplitApp that contain the master and detail view. And I would like to show the master view on the left half and detail view on the right half. Is there any proper way to adjust this?

Change view order of characteristics in list and details view

Hello everybody
I made some changes in the view order of most standard and own characteristics. Unfortunately the characteristic position changes I made are only partly applied!
Example:

Did anyone else out there observe similar behaviour and hopefully knows the solution to it?

Just for the records...
The system obeys to a changed character view order of own defined characteristics only if your own defined characteristics are not specified on catalog but on schema level!
We had specified our own defined characteristics on both levels at the same time... this disturbed the system and was the reason for the disorder in list and details view.
After correcting it all is fine again.

PRISM Master-Details with navigation between the Master and details view

Hi, I have a Master list with accounts and a Details list containing transactions.
The Master list : has a UserControl (AccountListView) and Viewmodel(AccountListViewModel)
The list is bound to an observable collection of type AccountViewModel and has a SelectedAccount property to get the current selected account. Each AccountViewModel has a collection of type TransactionViewModel.

I created a hyperlink command so that whenever I click on the name of an account from the master list it will navigate to the detail list and set the as the DataContext the account I clicked on. Before I had both Master and Detail lists displayed at the
same time and set the DataContext of the Detail List as the SelectedAccount property(which is bound to the SelectedItem of the Master List) of the Master List. I am not sure how to pass the SelectedAccount when I navigate to the Detail List and set it as the
DataContext of the Detail List.

As I mentioned there is a NavigationParameters class that you can create an instance of and pass as a parameter to the RequestNavigate method in Prism 5:

Blackberry Link - not recognizing device and does not allow synching calendar and contacts

I cannot get Blackberry Link to work properly on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro. It takes a very long time to open and it does not allow me to sign in saying there is no internet connection and I cannot get around resolving this issue. That is problem 1. Problem 2, Blackberry Link sometimes recognizes the device and sometimes it does not. Problem 3, when I do get Link to recognize the device, (it can backup), synching the calender and contacts on the device to Outlook does not work. I try to do a one way synch from the device to outlook and it processes but Outlook is not updated (outlook has no contacts or calendar events as I want to pull them off my device).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Help neede with UITableview and detail views

OK. So I'm new to iPhone dev and have been trying to figure this out with no luck.
I have a xib and coresponding ProfileViewController file that contains a tableview. The tableview is pulling data from a .txt file. This is working. However, what I'd like to be able to do is when a user selects one of the tableview rows, it pulls a different xib file, under the nav controller.
For instance:
Item 1 displays person.xib
Item 2 displays animal.xib
etc.
I am also using a tab view controller and a navigation controller. The tab views and nav controller work fine.
If anyone could help with some instructions/code, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Doug - Do you just want each row of your table view to switch to a different detail view when selected? That's a fairly standard setup, so maybe you're trying to describe something else I'm not seeing yet.
Let's start with the standard structure anyway. Then you can explain what you want that's different, ok?
Have you looked over the UICatalog sample app yet? The main view of that app presents a table view under a nav bar. Selecting any row in the table view will slide the detail view matching that row under the nav bar. Each detail view is controlled by a different subclass of UiViewController.
The UICatalog sample is a bit more complicated than we might want for learning the basic structure, but I think it's clear enough for you to see the key steps. Here's one of the methods you might want to look at:

The above is deceptively simple because lots of work has gone into building the menuList array, which is an array of NSDictionary objects, each containing all the info needed to bring up one detail view. However with a little study, you may find most of the answers to your questions in that file.
Note that while the view controllers in the menuList array are created with code in awakeFromNib, they could just as easily have been pulled out of separate xib files.
If you''d like a really well paced, crystal clear explanation of how to use nav bars with table views, I would recommend Chapter 8 and 9 of +Beginning iPhone Development+ by Mark and LaMarche. I think you may be right at the point where you'll benefit from that book the most.

Thumbnails and image viewer

I need to make a page with a bunch of thumbnails, where
clicking on any of the thumb nails makes that image appear bigger
in a different part of the screen. I know this can be done but I
cant remember that the terminology is. Could someone tell me what
this is called so I can google a tutorial on this?

Hi.
It´s easy. I will try, with my bad english, explain you
how to do it. Only
as trainer.
1. Create a table with 2 cells and 2 rows.
2. Now in the first left cell insert one of the thumbnail.
3. In the second left cell insert another thumbnail.
4. Now select the two right rows, while click right and
select table-combine
cells. Insert here one of your big image. This will be the
image wich will
be seen when the page loads.
5. Select the images, one to one, and down in the Properties
Inspector you
will see a small image. Give a name to every image in the
small white box.
6. Select the first thumbnail and click the Tag Inspector
menu. Click the +
in Behaviors and select Swap Image.
7. In the new Swap image box select the name of your big
image and in the
Source image click browse and select the big image wich
correspond to the
thumbnail you select in point 6.
Repeat the process.
For default the swap image is set on mouse over, click over
"on mouse over"
and change it for on click.
I hope that you understand this steps.

Where does Lightroom put HDR in the grid view? Is there anyway to have Lightroom stack the HDR file with the source files?

I can't decipher where (and why) the program is putting the HDR image in the grid. I stack all of my HDR source images so they are easy to track and manage. Other apps/plugins allow you to stack resulting images with their source image. That would be great if there's a way to set that in LR preferences.

Thanks, but this doesn't really answer the question about stacking the HDR file with the source files. Yes, it does put the file in the same folder, however many of my folders have 100s of images (that often look similar) and as far as I can tell, LR places them randomly in the sort order. It doesn't appear to put them at the beginning or end of the sort (usually by date), but somewhere randomly in the middle. Even if it could be made clear what method it is using to sort them, that would help locate one file among hundreds.
Ideally, however it should allow you to stack with the stacked source files. Is there anyway to do this? If not, is it a feature that could be requested?

Month view and detail view show different times

I'm importing this calendar:

Here is my problem:
The meeting shows in Month view as 10AM, but the details show 9AM. 9AM is the correct time. It's only a problem during Daylight Savings Time. I've switched every Time Zone Control I can find with no change, and I don't want to have to change each event.
This calendar imports perfectly on any iOS device. This is only an issue in the Calendar app on OS X Mavericks.
Feel free to import the calendar and work on it.

I imported the calendar, and duplicated your observation, until I edited "to:" to display a 1 hour event. I also used my time zone.

Where Does Lightroom Store Catalogs, Previews, and Backups?

1. By default, where does LR store:
a. Catalogs (.lrcat)
b. Previews (.lrdata)
c. Backups of Catalogs and Previews
2. Can these locations be changed?
2a. If so, how does one specify where LR will store each of the above?
3. Is there a specific relationship of location the Catalog, the Preview, and the Backups, or any partial combination of those three, must remain in?
3a. If so, what is/are that/those relationships?

a) By default in the Lightroom folder within My Pictures / Pictures
b) Always in the same folder as the catalogue
c) Wherever you tell it - which should be somewhere different. No backup of Previews.
Re 2, just move the catalogue in Explorer / Finder, double click it. If you didn't move the Previews, LR starts a new one in the same folder as the catalogue, following (b) above.
Re 3, answered above. Backups can / should be elsewhere and it's your choice where.
Notice that in Catalog Settings there's a Show button that reveals where your catalogue is.

JFileChooser detecting switch between "List" and "Details" views

I'm customizing a JFileChooser and would like to provide users a longer version of the file names when in Details mode (Unix showing links).
This might be accomplished using the getDescription method of FileView, I don't know. My FileView getTypeDescription and getDescription methods are never called but getIcon is. I added @Override annotations to all method, so I think I really am overriding them.

Artworks does not appear in List and Grid view, but in Cover Flow

Since a few days the Artwork does neither appear in the List and the Grid View nor in the Genius Mix. When I change to Cover Flow, I can see all Artwork. I see all Artwork also in the information tabs. I already upgraded to the last iTunes version 9.0.2 but without any effect. Restarting iTunes and my PC doesn't help at as well.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem is and how it can be solved?

A completely blank Cover Flow can sometimes be a graphics driver problem but if Grid & List views have problems then it is probably a corrupted artwork cache. With iTunes closed rename the *Album Artwork* folder as *Album Artwork (OLD)*. Start iTunes and slowly scroll through your library in Grid mode. The cache will be rebuilt for all albums where there is embedded art. Albums that only had iTunes Store art will need to have new artwork downloaded. If all goes well delete the old artwork folder.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutartwork for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus.

Acrobat X doing PS to PDF conversion and can view the PDF file in the Lower version?

I am converting the Postscript file to PDF file using Acrobat X, but the end user is having the Acrobat older version. Can we use the lower Acrobat version for the viewing? Also it's under EULA?

If you make PDF 1.7, Acrobat 6 and later can handle the file.
If you make PDF 1.6, Acrobat 5 and later can handle the file.
A little more on EULA: this is not official, but I have seen a lot of discussion in these forums about it. It seems to be that you cannot use Acrobat (or Distiller from Acrobat) as a server process, automating creation of PDF for others without the control of an individual even on a desktop.
So, if these PostScript files are made by an individual who runs Distiller, this is fine.
If the individual puts files from anywhere into Distiller that is fine.
It is not fine if PostScript files are delivered from somewhere else and automatically processed.
It is not fine if PostScript files are made automatically on this machine and automatically delivered to the file server for others to read.
Distiller is for making files for its licensed user to read, or to share themselves manually.

Finder Window Does not retain custom size and/or view

I recently installed OS X Snow Leopard and ever sine I have had problems with the behaviour of my finder windows in that they simply will not retain my custom view settings.
+For example, I set the default view to coverflow with a 50/50 ratio of coverflow (on top) and file lists (on the bottom). But as soon as I click to another location, close and then reopen any finder window, at any time, the result is always the same - the window opens in coverflow with the coverflow graphics taking up around 90% of the window space and the file lists underneath squeezed down to minimum size. Even if I set all windows to open in icon view or list view, the same thing happens.+
*I have tried all of the following:*
Opening a finder window, resizing, and then closing it straight away
Deleting the both the finder and the side bar plist files, emptying the trash and then restarting finder
Restarting finder on its own
*Is anyone having the same problem and if so have they found a solution?*

This problem affects a few of my Finder windows, including the Application folder window. I recently did a clean reinstall of SL (which stands for Stupid Lunatic, because that's what I was for upgrading), and the problem occurred a few days later. This cannot be due to using Migration Assistant (and moving "bad" folders), because the installation process creates the Applications folder and populates it with Apples apps. Migration Assistant just adds your apps to the existing folder.
This problem, or minor variations of it, has occurred with all seven major versions of OS X. Finder window settings were rock solid way back in OS 7 days and remained so through OS 9. I know that Steve Jobs hates the Desktop/Finder approach, but if it's going to be in OS X, then it should work correctly. I actually long for the days when rebuilding the desktop fixed most of the icon and window problems.
We need a utility that can erase the custom settings for our folders and let us start with a clean settings file.
