Does Lightroom create any log file during exports?

While exporting a photo book to PDF and Blurb the process fails. Export to JPEG works, 1 file per page.
Is any log created so that one can see which page caused the problem?
Thank you.

Thanks for looking and acknowledging the question Geoff.
A log for troubleshooting would be very helpful.
A log showing photo ID's on page numbers would be a fast referance when someone wants to go from a printed book to the photo file.
Thanks.

  • Where does Logger create the log file?

    I am trying to use the Logger API within my classes.
    I have the following code:
    logger = Logger.getLogger("garxface123");
    logger.setLevel(Level.FINEST);
    logger.entering(this.getClass().getName(), new Throwable().getStackTrace() [0].getMethodName());
    logger.fine("Test 123");
    I can't seem to find where the file is being created. I searched the drive (WinDoz XP OS) that the code is running on plus the C: drive for garxface123*.* but can't seem to find the file antwhere.
    Am I doing something wrong? If so what? Do I need to close the logger somehow?

    Thanks I see what I am doing wrong. I'm not adding a device handler. Makes sense now.

  • Does Lightroom create an extra JPG file?

    I'm new to Lightroom. When I import images from my camera and exit Lightroom, I notice that every JPG has been exactly duplicated with the addition of a _2 as a suffix.  The DNG files are not duplicated.  I'm quite certain my camera is not doing this, as it hasn't done this before.  This creates an extra cleanup task as I must delete all these extras.  What gives?

    Since I'm new to LR, I did an Import. One other person mentioned that maybe I imported into the same folder, thus creating dups.  I will watch carefully next time. I'm willing to give LR a chance as I know many people swear by it.  I guess if someone has tens of thousands if images, fast keyword searches can be helpful, but I "catalog" my images by discrete folders, so I know where everything is.  That might not be the case when I get many more images.

    What is your workflow for importing images?  Do you use something other than LR to copy images from a memery card to the HD, and then import into LR?  What option (at the top of the import window are you using for import (Add, Copy, Move, etc.)?

  • Preview does not show any postscript files

    Preview does not show any .ps files in Mac OS 10.4.3. I get an error message "PostScript Conversion Error" when Preview tries to convert the ps file into pdf.
    (I print online banking invoices to postscript using the print option "save as file", because the pdf option isn't always available as a file format.)
    How can I view my ps files?
    (this is a cross-post from the print/fax forum, as no one answered my question there)

    Thanks for the tip. I downloaded Ghostscript, installed it but can't find it once installed and nothing has changed.
    I did however find out that only my online banking PostScript files are unreadable. Other PS files I create with my Canon printer menu are automatically converted into PDF by Preview without a problem. So it must have something to do with the document header or whatever of the online banking files.

  • System errors -  creating a log file

    Is there any class, method for trapping system, application errors, exceptions and warnings in a system and then creating a log file.

    It sounds like the OP is looking for a way to "listen" for System events and log those to a file. Is this correct? If so, you'll probably need to look at a JNI solution...

    I don't think so — iWeb has a manual approach via its File menu > Save option. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located here:
    ...So previous copies of that file may be available via Time Machine or other backup strategy such as SuperDuper.

  • How to create different log files for each of web applications deployed in OC4J

    Hi All,
    I am using OC4J(from Oracle) v1.0.2.2 and Windows2000. Now I want to know
    1. how to create different log files for each of my deployed web applications ?
    2. what are the advantages in running multiple instances of oc4j and in what case we should run
    multiple instances of OC4J ?
    3. how to run OC4J as Windows2000 Service rather than Windows2000 Application ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Avi,
    First of all I have given a first reading to log4j and I think there will some more easy way of logging debugging messages than log4j (If you could provide me a detailed explanation of a servlet,jsp,java bean that uses log4j and how to use log4j then it will be very helpful for me). The other easy ways (if I am not using log4j) to my problem i.e creating different log files for each of web applications deployed in oc4j are
    I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
    I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
    Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

    Else OrderStatus = 'Reject' --> do not create attribute/element ==> output is the empty file.
