Does lightroom wok on a Windows 7 64 bit version ?

I would like to know if LR is compatible with Win7 64 bit version (which would enable me to take advantage of the 6Gb of RAM of my computer, which is only partly supported by the present 32 bit version.

Both programs will work with Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64 bit version.

In fact, it works correctly on some sites, like youtube, but not on some others like :

    I cannot check boxes,
    My changes are not saved.
In most of flash animations, videos, ...,
when I click on parameters, I cannot do anything, even closing.
when I am in full screen mode, the message "press escape to exit...." does not disappear.
Last thing, all those problems was not there when I was on Windows XP, few weeks ago, and appear with my registered Windows 7 premium familly edition, with the same hardware configuration...

  • Does Firefox 7.o have a supported 64-bit version for Windows 7?

On the system requirements page for Firefox 7.0, I found the following statement: "Please note that while the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be used to run Firefox 6, only 32-bit builds of Firefox 6 are supported. at this time."
I do not understand why Firefox 6 is mentioned on the Firefox 7 system requirements page. I have Windows 7, 64 bit version.
Does Firefox 7.0 have a supported 64 bit version that runs on Windows 7--64 bit version?

Not yet. The web page text is incorrect.

  • Does CS3 play well under Windows 7 (64 bit)

I have just built an i7 machine using 64 bit Windows 7 RC for the OS.  I then installed my CS3 package (and updated via network).
Premier capture of HDV/DV fails with the likes of Debug event with "TextPopup.cpp-273" and "HotTimecodeControl.cpp-387".
I don't want to waste debug time if there is a basic incompatibilty between CS3 and the OS or 64 bit version.
My package of CS3 has been working well on my old XP machine for years (but I wanted to improve the speed).
Does CS3 play well under Windows 7 (64 bit)?  What should I be aware of moving forward?  Advise?

My problem with capture seems to have been corrected by an update to the motherboard device drivers.
However, I did first try the "XP Mode" suggestion.  XP Mode runs as using "Virtual PC".  This two step approach requires that you first install the Virtual PC application on Windows 7 and then install "Windows-XP-Mode" as the OS on a Virtual PC.  Before that, the motherboard must have "Virtualization Technology" turned on.  This seemed a little cumbersome for a long term solution so I stopped before installing CS3 on the "Virtual XP Machine".  I did a little more shotgun experimentation including driver updates and found that capture had begun to work.
To be sure of the solution, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 (overwriting previous disk contents), motherboard driver updates, and CS3 install (with updates).  Capture is working for both DV and HDV modes.  However, do note that my motherboard does now have Virtualization Technology enabled.  This may or may not be a factor.
I have also noted that there is also an "XP Compatibility Mode" option available for applications (that is different from Windows-XP-Mode).  Windows 7 presents this option by right clicking on the shortcut and selecting Properties/Compatibility.
Hope this helps the next person to stumble down my path.

  • Windows-7 64 bit version

I am about to download Windows-7 64 bit version on a separate partition as a dual-boot system. Will Adobe Premiere Elements 7 work if I install it there? (Will I find my edites, etc.?) Thanks.

That is probably a very wise decision, even if your CPU would handle 64-bit. I'm a firm believer in waiting until SP-1 for a given OS, before adopting it. There are too many horror stories in my past. I also do not bother doing any beta testing, as I need all of my computers for work.
With new technology, both software and hardware, there are dangers being out on the "cutting edge." This is often "blood" on that edge, and I do not want it to be mine.
Good luck when you build, or buy. So far, the reports on Win7 RC seem very favorable. Here's hoping that it will be the best release of an OS by MS in many decades.

  • No LaserJet M1319f software bundle for Windows 7 (64 bit) version.

Does anyone know if HP is going to have the entire software bundle for the HP LaserJet M1319f Multifunction Printer under the Windows 7 (64 bit) version? After updating my software, firmware and drivers for my new Win7-64bit pc I realized there was no software bundle installed. The drivers installed and I can print but no other software. It looks like they have it for the Win7-32bit and I tried to install it just to see if it would work and of course in errored out incompatible. Any information would be appreciated.

Below is a link to the HP site to download the printer software for Win 7x64. You will also notice an option to download a printer firmware update that is available for this model printer.

I am currently using Win Vista Home Premium 32 bit. However, I'd like to try the 64 bit version (which I have).

  • ITunes for Windows 7, 64-bit version not connecting to iPod

Hi, everyone! I'm having problems connecting my iPod Touch to iTunes version 11.0.1.12. I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit version on my PC. Whenever I open iTunes with my iPod Touch connected to my PC, iTunes immediately gives me the following error message:
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
This confuses me because I already have the 64-bit version for Windows 7 installed on my PC. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the 64-bit version three times; however, I'm still getting the same error message whenever I connect my iPod Touch and open iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

now nothing happens when I connect the iPod by USB - it's not even charging.
Do you have a laptop, Nin?
If so, the following document might be of some assistance with that:

for the 2013 versions of macbook pro should I purchase 32 bit windows or 64 bit version to be able to install it on macbook and use windows with bootcamp?

Then you might check at any of the other university book stores or software stores or any computer store in town for the 64-bit version.
If you want to use the 32-bit version from the school (you probably get it for free or very cheap) then you could purchase Parallels and run it as a virtual machine concurrently with OS X. There are some caveats:
    1. You have to purchase Parallels (there may be an academic discount.) List is $79.95.
    2. Your computer needs minimally 4 GBs of RAM, but realistically 8 GBs would be better.
    3. Parallels creates a pseudo-drive on your hard drive. It could easily require 50 GBs of disk space.
Accommodating these might be more costly than buying 64-bit Windows 7. And, if you look online you may find them with an academic discount (or may be able to order it through the school.)

  • How can I reinstall Bluetooth drivers after loading windows 7 64 bit version on my 2010 iMac?

I have just uninstalled windows 7 32 bit version which I have been using for ages and upgraded to the 64 bit version. I did this from the windows partition in my bootcamp divided hard drive. I then reinstalled the drivers using the application DVD which came with my machine but the Bluetooth driver is missing. One thought I have is whether I would be able to use the driver DVD which came with my 2011 MacBook Air (which has been running fine on windows 64bit version since I bought it)
Would this work or any other ideas?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
If you still have no luck try reinstalling iTunes 12.0, links in the user tip.
