Does lion have an built-in application like rosseta from previous OS?

I am thinking if i should upgrade to Lion but i have read that people are having problems opening microsoft word. I am a student and I use Microsoft office 2011 alot and will i be able to open office or should i wait for an update.
Please reply Thanks

Office 2011 for Mac works like a charm in Lion. I redownloaded latest copy of Office 2011 with SP1 (from MSDN) and installed on Lion. I also download 1 big security update (around 200MB) and Remote Dektop Connection update (I think it's v2.1.1). Don't be confused, you can go ahead with Lion Upgrade!

    Hi Linda...
You can purchase Numbers from the App Store.
You can launch the App Store from your Apple menu > App Store
    Or from your Dock >
    Or from your Applications folder.

  • Does anyone have experience with migrating applications from iAS6.0 SP2 to SP3? Did it go smoothly or are there problems to be expected?

    Hi,
I haven't. But, there are lots of changes from each service packs,
henceforth you may have to stick to what the documentation says to avoid
the errors that shoots up. Again, the errors depends upon how you have
coded your application. Please let me know if you have encountered any
errors and the messages for me to help you.

Could you describe what you are trying to do a little more fully?  When you say Force, do you mean force quit?  Just what were you doing in System Preferences when it hung up?

Does ipad2 have a "show topsites" feature like the Macbook Pro?

No, Safari on the iPad is a fairly basic browser and with iOS 5 it now uses tabbed browsing and not the thumbnail/page view as on previous iOS versions (which only showed your open pages and not top sites).

  • Does thunderbird have a quick view feature like windows live mail?

This feature provides a view of all emails in all of the inboxes for all the email addresses.

''Sorry, confused this thread with a different question!''
As far as I can tell, Thunderbird does not have a built-in "AutoPreview" feature which can show the beginning of the message body in the inbox.
There may be a tooltip when you hover over the line in the Inbox, but that is a lot slower than having the text there automatically.
The text may appear in a notification pane pop up that shows your newest messages, but that is transitory and doesn't help for older messages.
So, I guess you would need an extension to add this, if such an extension exists.

  • Why does Firefox have to beg for money, like the winos on the street ?

Why does firefox have to beg for money, like winos on the street ? If I had the money to donate, I gladly would, but I'm disabled on a fixed income and cannot afford to give money to anyone. I ran my own websites a few times, and never once begged for money to pay for my websites. Do you think everyone just sits back on their stack of cash, watching for any vultures that come around ? I've used firefox for 10 years, but if I'm no longer wanted, I will leave. Should I skip a few meals so I can send you 10 dollars, or cancel my doctor's visit for next week ? Maybe I could rake some yards in the neighborhood and make some extra money ? Wait, I can't walk but about 5 minutes, darn ! I had already dropped firefox for this very reason, and I thought the begging would be over, but it's still here ! Even microsoft and google recommend firefox ! It's a great browser, but I just can't afford to give money away. Maybe I could stop feeding my cat, I've heard they can survive without a human's help ? One of us would likely start eating the other ! Here kitty kitty !

You don't have to donate - just ignore the request and move on with your day.

I am running windows 8 and have lightroom 5.5 and i have a error that says cant read from previous cache?  help

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder that contains your catalog it's probably located in Pictures\Lightroom. In that folder you will find another folder with the extension .lrdata. You need to delete that folder and its contents, then start Lightroom again. And new previews folder will be created automatically, and you should be able to start using Lightroom normally.

does cs6 have such feature ? or is included in cc only?
at minute 9:06 there is an amazing review about this tool
    thanks

You really should think about a CC subscription Hudders.  There is something very liberating about using Camera RAW as a filter in an opened image document, and you can do it on a Smart Object.   The new features in each new version of PS have a habit of creeping up on you.  You start out thinking , ‘yes this is nice, but is it really so very much better?’, and before you know it, you become utterly panic stricken at the very thought of not having those new features.
The new spot removal tool in ACR 8.# is like a Patch tool that automatically choses the best possible source pixels to fix a blemish, and I love it.

  • Does Firefox have a url autocomplete shortcut, like IE's shift+enter?

Internet Explorer has a handy feature when typing in url's. When you begin typing and the autocomplete drop-down box pops up, you can press shift+enter to automatically finish typing the top entry and go to that site. Does Firefox have that kind of functionality? I haven't been able to find it in preferences or about:config.

    Yes, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Location+bar+search
It doesn't work anymore in Firefox 7 if there are multiple domains like support.mozilla

  • Does PM have a "Find Font" tool like ID does?

I have a newsletter that someone else created and Im having a problem converting to a PDF, I think its conflicting with a font thats being used somewhere.  Does PM have something like ID does where it will list all the fonts your document is using and lets you also swap them out for other fonts if desired?

Where is "save for service provider" that you mentioned in Pagemaker?  And I dont know what you mean about edit mode, isnt it always in edit mode?
Save for service provider:  Utilities -> Plug-ins -> Save for Service Provider
PM is in Layout Mode by default.  Either select the text block with the master tool or put the Text I-bar  into the text of a text block and hit Ctrl+E for Edit mode.

I see the Service Provider option, dont really understand what its all about being it says this docment is ok for making a PS (which will not distill this way or not)  but says its not ok for the PUB option.  I did see where it says the fonts that are used though and the pages they are used on but do not see a way to swap all of a font to another font
