Does Logic Pro X work with M-Audio ProjectMix?
Has anybody tested the M-Audio ProjectMix with LPX? I know that it could work with mountain lion, even without new drivers. But does it Work with Logic Pro X?
I originally just upgraded from LION and the drivers loaded fine... once I started to use LPX, I realized I had way too many plugins and other apps on my Mac that I had acumulated over the years and I wanted to have a simpler, cleaner set-up, so I actually reformated my hard drive and re-installed everything from fresh. I haven't run into any bugs so far... make sure you have 10.8.4 running and the latest M-Audio Firewire Drivers and you should be OK.
I also use a few other DAWs that I purchaesd while Logic was languishing but I took them all off (other then StudioOne which I use if I need a 32bit environment) so I can be dedicated to just LPX.
I figured out the input monitoring issue, there's a new button in the preferences that selects just monitoring on focused tracks... turn that off if you are recording multiple instruments.
Lastly, if you do have some old 32bit plugins, and you have them in VST format (not AU), you can use a combination of JBridgeM and DDMF Metaplugin to run 32bit VSTs in LPX... it works very well. I have a Focusrite LiquidMix 32 unit that I thought I would have to let go but it works fine using this bridging set-up.

And also does Logic Pro 8 and the microsoft pack (word, powerpoint, excel etc. 2011) work too? Please help me if you know it

- KufaxSince I'm not in the middle of anything critical and have multiple backups, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade. I've only been running for an hour or so, but here's where I am:
2008 MacPro, 8x2.8Ghz, 16Gb RAM. SSL MADI PCIe card for I/O. Logic 9.1.7
Tested with a couple of recent, decent size projects (40+ tracks, VIs and plugins). Not seeing any perormance differences.
Working:
- Euphonix MC Mix
- UAD2 Duo
- Spectrasonics Omnisphere
- NI Komplete 8
- Waves 9
- Soundtoys 4
- Wallander Instruments
- EW Play
- Melodyne
NOT Working:
- Access Virus TI. Plugin opens but cannot connect to Virus. I am running the latest stable v4 release - I will try installing the v5 public Beta and report back. This is a deal breaker so if I cannot get it working I will roll back to Lion
- SSL Duende Native. Authorization is failing. Possibly a CodeMeter issue or just authorizations lost during upgrade - will look at this next.
Make sure you are running the latest iLok driver - there was one released a few days ago.

Does Logic Pro X work with the Tascam US-1800 interface?

I am new to Logic Pro (I haven't downloaded the software yet) and I have a Tascam US-1800 that I used with Cubase LE 5 in the past. I have heard that the Tascam US-1800 works with Logic programs and have confirmed that it works with Logic Pro 9; but I am not completely sure if anyone has tried Logic Pro 10 with the Tascam US-1800 yet. Does anybody know if it is compatible? Moreover, has anyone faced any problems when recording with a Tascam US-1800 on Logic Pro 10 yet?Its not really about if it works with Logic Pro 9 or X
It's more about if it works with the version of OS X you are running or intend to run later....
So if it is currently working under Mavericks 10.9.3 then it should work with LPX or any other Audio program... for that matter.

looking to buy the logic pro. not having fun with Ableton. I feel like logic pro is worth it. also do all the plug-in come wiith it? Do I need anything extra after buying logic pro to hear them through monitors?

Does logic pro 8 work mountain lion?
I've updated my Mac Xeon with Mountain Lion and now my Logic Pro 8 is giving me a midi conflict error. How can I fix this or does Logic Pro 8 even work Mountain LIon? Can anyone help me?
I know.. I have both read and taken part in that thread but again....
The majority of peopole who run Logic 9.1.8 and Lion or now Mountain Lion do not have those issues... and because they do not, they don't post in such threads.. so you get a distorted view of the true numbers of people with problems.
Those that do have issues, will naturally post up in such threads... but that doesn't mean they are the majority of users... They are just the 'loudest' and quite rightly so.
I will also say that for me personally, 10.6.8 and Logic 9.1.5/9.1.6 was and still is the most stable platform for Logic of all of the various combinations available... but apart from an annoying issue with the "airplay' dialog box that keeps popping up in 9.1.8 with ML... and the GUI lag affecting a few plugins.. I don't have any major issues with Logic and ML... so I can happily live and work with that setup...
Finally, it's also worth noting that with my own client base.. initially with Lion and then Mountain Lion the number of clients who had problems was much higher.. Probably closer to 20-25% had issues.. but most of those issues were resolved by updates to incompatible drivers/3rd party plugins and so on...
Once those kind of issues were resolved... as I said earlier, the number of my clients who still have major issues running uner Lion or ML with Logic Pro 9 has dropped to less than 5%... and to me, that respresents a minority of all users... like it or not. -

2G of RAM is a bit low.
2 GB is a bit lean, but LP 8 should be OK-ish with it. I used to run LP 8 on a G4 with only 1.8 GB. I would recommend the OP to install Menumeters, to keep an eye on RAM use. I ran Tiger (10.4.11), Lion probably has a bigger RAM footprint. If at all possible, go to 4 or even 8 GB. -

V2.2.2 is 10.8 compatible however there are several threads in their forums that indicate issues with 10.8.3 and higher...

Given that your interface is no longer a supported item.. and Avid have taken over M-Audio.. it might be that there will be no further updates leaving you unfortunately, with an out of date and no longer supported piece of hardware... which frankly is typical of M-Audio...
As a quick aside... This is why I stick with Motu equipment.. and have done so for many, many years now. Their support both for new and legacy devices is and has always been.. excellent.. and my original Ultralite Mk1 which is at least 7 years old now I believe, is still fully supported in the latest OS X version. using the latest Motu Drivers..
Anyhow.. Check with M-Audio/Avid to find out if this has been resolved...... -

I googled Fast Track Pro compatibility with OS X 10.8.x and found several incompatibility issues and no experiences in version 10.8.4 so far.
So there is a risk that when ugprading Lion to Mountain Lion 10.8.4, Fast Track Pro wouldn't work any longer.
And purchasing LPX for 180e and a new MOTU audio interface for 230e over doubles the initial price of LPX alone..not so attractive deal anymore..
Do you know if there are any good ways to get back to Lion after installing ML if there seems to be problems with Fast Track Pro? I'm using MacBook Pro with preinstalled Lion. I googled too many articles on this and I'm still confused if going back to Lion is possible or not.

My Logic Pro dont want work with ProTools HD3....
I have G5 dual Core with 2 GO Ram, and ProTools HD3 and a Apogee converter's (with XD card extention).
I have in the same comuter Logic Pro 8, and i can't use the DSP of ProTools HD, and the Logic Pro plug-in and Protools HD plug-ins dont want work too.

try to change your Logic audio drivers ! you'll see there is(select it ) DAE
driver, TDM option and Core audio driver! You have to chose DAE driver then
reboot the logic Pro then it will work

Why does snaps pro not work with mountain lion?
I spent a lot money purchasing the pro addition only to be told that it won't work with mountain lion due to Apple's written something into the code that does not permit me to make videos with it. I even tried ot make a video of Indesign acting up so i could send it to Adobe support and it wouldn't allow me to. Is this the resaon it suddenly doesn't work anymore? Are there plans to fix mountian lion to allow me to use my software? Alternatively,, does Apple have something that does screen captures of videos?

As far as Snapz Pro X 2 functionality, some major backend Digital Rights Management changes enacted by Apple may be what is preventing you from recording movies you were previously able to record using our software. Basically, our program can no longer access videos before the DRM protections are enabled, unfortunately we have no control over these changes.
