Does LR support plug-ins?

I was wondering if LR has support for plug-ins, that would allow additional processing to pictures from 3rd parties. E.g. it might allow to do input sharpening with Photokit Sharpener while importing pictures, or right after importing them, and output sharpening right before printing.

And currently you can set up an action in PS, turn it into a droplet, and put that in the LR Export Actions folder. I use one for additional sharpening and converting to greyscale.

  • Does elements use plug ins?

I have a macbook pro & snow leopard. I bought a sony snap lab to print action photos at sports events.
The background template needs to go through this plug in specific for the snap lab.
So my husband has a pc. I was just going to buy the cheapest PS I could find & make the borders on my computer.
Then save them on the portable drive & have him open it on whatever cheap version I can find of elements with this snap lab program.
Any ideas? It won't work on my mac I've tried many different ways. I've even tried using rosetta. However, I have to uninstall snow leopard seems  a lot easier to try it the way I mentioned. Thanks for your help. Karen

I thought I could make the template on my computer on the mac.
Then put it on a hard drive & have the cheapest version of photo shop on his computer & just open it with that plug in.
I still don't understand what you want to do. Do you have to use a specific program to make this template? Why can't you just make a blank file? Please explain in more detail. What plug-in? On their web page I couldn't find any plug-ins. Maybe if you can provide a link.
The part about the snow leopard. I read that I could use the plug in on my mac & cs4 if I used rosetta which is an older os.
So I tried to download that & it said I could run it if I uninstall it.
No, that is not what rosetta is. Rosetta is a part of OS X for intel computers that allows you to use programs that were written for the pre-intel versions of OS X, like you'd have on a computer like a G5. You don't need to uninstall anything to get rosetta: when you open up a program, like Appleworks, for instance, that needs to run in Rosetta, if you are running 10.6, you will be prompted to install it. You do not download rosetta--it's on your system install disks.
You can run PSE 6 in rosetta, but not PSE 8 or 9, since adobe disabled that for PSE beginning with PSE 8.

  • IMovie10 supports plug-ins created with Motion5

    ok, first of all:
You signed on first launch of iMovie to accept the Terms Of Use… which, somewhere, mentions, you are using this software 'as is'.
ANY manipulations to its internals violates this ToU!
So, I'm just talking academic here, and I will NOT share here the process in detail. I found the idea on the net, smarter people like me had found it. But as a long-time contributor on this board, mentioned as one of the 'Top Participants' in this community, I feel the obligation, to share this insight:
    as you can see here…
    a) my handmade, own Motion5 title appears in iM10 Titles browser
    b) it shows the generic preview icon as any M5 effect
    c) you can apply it to the project
    d) it works…
Haven't had the time to dig any deeper; the part of iMovie, which is 'in charge' for plugins, is even localized:
… and lists the many 'effects' tabs of iMovie10…
I haven't tested yet, what is all 'allowed', what works, what not.
AGAIN: This is just a 'proof of concept'!
If you like to try on your own, be aware of what you do!
    Finally:
    Goiod News!
    … opens the door for 3rd-party plug-ins/add-ons/themes!
(one of the Top 3 on my wishlist)

    ooops?
    here: dl, installed, done.
    too much, too many Events&Projects?
(just asking, appleman is a busy movie-maker )
On first launch, when being asked to update my data-base, I selected 'later'.
So, I started with an 'empty' version = flawless, including my lil' 'hack'/experiment.-

  • Quick question...  does safari have add-ons or plug ins?

I've been Safari and firefox intermittently for the past week or so, and I've definitely noticed that Safari is faster than firefox most of the time, which I really like. And I like how links to some major websites are built across the top below the address bar, too. I also like how it's streamlined and condensed.
However, I like firefox, too... namely because of all the add-ons and plug ins, such as foxytunes, download helper, the toolbars for yahoo and google (those are the four I have because those are the only ones I use).
So, does Safari have plug-ins, or add-ons available, akin to firefox, or the app store (that I've heard about) for the i-phone? Because, if so, (if I could get those four plug-ins, or equivalents) that would be enough to make me do a complete switch.

Hi and welcome to the Apple discussion forum!
Yes Safari do use plugins as well as firefox, i guess that you already got the Flash plugin installed.
But you find some other available plugins at this site as well, that you maybe not have installed yet.
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html <<
And regarding the Appstore that has really nothing to do with Safari though, the appstore is a
place where you can Buy/Download software for your iPhone. Cheers, J~G

  • How can I add my software in Adobe's Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro ?

    Hi,
Our company have a software called Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere.
Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere is a recommended FLV, MPG, RMVB, HD  video import plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro. This plug-in enables users  to import FLV videos with various codec like AVC/H.264, AAC, Screen  Video, Nellymoser, MP3, PCM, and Sorenson H.263. Besides FLV video, the  plug-in allows AVCHD import and HD video import in MTS, M2TS, TP, TS,  and MKV formats.
Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere do not convert your video so it keeps  video quality for you. The plug-in automatically detects the Adobe Premiere versions on your  machine and you can choose the versions to install the plug-in. It  currently supports Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0/1.5/2.0/CS3/CS4 and Elements  3.0/4.0/7.0/8.0.
I notice in Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro this part, Adobe didn't get any such plug-ins. They only have two file support plug-ins and Moyea Importer can fill the blank.
Now I want to submit this software on Adobe's site but I don't know where to submit or who I should to contact. Any suggestions? I really need your help and I am sure it is really good software.

Any suggestion? Admin of this board? Who can help me

  • Nodes and DSP-plug-ins

    Hi,
I couldn't find an answer to this question in the manual, so I'd be glad if anybody could give me some more information.
Logic can calculate plug-ins on a node, when the plug-ins are properly installed an the node machine. This works with most plug-ins that are calculated natively on the cpu.
When I use DSP-plug-ins like TC powercore or UAD in a track, will logic be able to calculate the other plug-ins (which are not dsp-based), on a node?
Since I use dsp-based plug-ins in nearly every track, it would be a pity if logic would refuse to calculate the other plug-ins of this tracks on the node.
On the node machine I have the dsp-plug-ins installed, but no dsp-hardware. Would it make a difference, if there would be second DSP-hardware hooked up to the node machine?
    Thanks for feedback,
    Eddie

    Hi,
The Node machine only does CPU (native) plug-ins. It does do third-party ones now. You need to see under the Audio Unit utility to check which ones work on yur machine. The Node does NOT work on plugins that require a dedicated processor. Probably because of the need for the processor, and therefore the different code that those plug-ins are buiblt with.
Try yours, and see which ones work. On my machine I get the following:
    Nomad Factory (all)
    Waves (most of them)
    Cheers

  • GRADUATED Filter Plug Ins.

Can anyone tell me if there is a third party software supplier that does GRADUATED Filter Plug Ins for iMovie HD6. I want to be able to improve washed out skies by darkening them, like where the TV people use a graduated filter (e.g. the Cokin filter holder set) over the camera lens. I know there are plug effects that can change the appearance of clips but they cover the whole area, not graduated from top to bottom. The company Cf/x do just what I want but theirs don't work on Intel Macs and I don't want to play around with my iMovie with conversion things like Apple's Rosetta.
I've also tried GeeThree but they don't seem to have a Graduated Filter plug in.
    Any suggestions much appreciated.

  • Final Cut 3rd party plug ins

I downloaded some plug in filters for FCP but I cannot find the plugin folder I was told it is, Library, Aplplication support, final cut pro system support, plug ins but there is no final cut pro system support folder. Where do I put these? What do I do? I am running Leopard and the newest final cut. Thanks

There are actually 4 or 5 locations it could be in, including the application bundle itself but the most likely location is /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support.
Glad to know that you found it though.

  • My Firefox is crashing every five minutes. No plug ins, lap top is new drivers updates and current version of firefox. How do I stop this?!

I recently updated my firefox after doing updates and cleaning out my computer. Firefox was working fine with the old version not problems. Now I am lucky to be online for more than five mins before it crashes. Doesn't matter what page I'm on or what I am doing. No plug ins currently installed as I have only had this for two days and can't be online long enough to do anything. I hate explorer please help me fix this issue.

hello, unfortunately this seems to be a crash that is appearing in firefox 19 on windows 8 with AMD Radeon HD 6XXX/7XXX graphics cards - developers are investigating the causes of it...
the best option probably is to downgrade to the to the former version at the moment until this gets sorted out: [[Install an older version of Firefox]]
    ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0.2/win32/
the auto-update in firefox 18 for the affected systems is now disabled and will be turned back on when a fix is available.

  • " plug-in name does not support the highest level of security for Safari plug-ins" appear for some plugins in Safari Security "Manage Website Settings"?

    Hi,
Wondering why "<plug-in name> does not support the highest level of security for Safari plug-ins" appear for some plugins in Safari > Security > "Manage Website Settings"?
Have been trying to get to the root cause of the problem but did not find much on this. I am trying to figure out what can get the warning to go away completely than using the Allow/Always Allow options for the plug-in
    Thanks,
    Shyam

    Hi Linc,
Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of the warning that I am talking about.
    Here is what I do:
    1. Launch Safari and open its Preferences. I have Safari 7.1 installed on my machine.
    2. Click Security Tab and click Manage WebSite Settings
    3. A window opens showing me all the Plug-ins that I have (listed on the left hand side).
    4. One of them is the Adobe Reader plug-in. When I click Adobe Reader, the following details about the plug-in show up on the right
I was referring to the highlighted section that warns me about this plug-in not using the highest level of security for Safari Plug-ins.
Note: I do not see this for all my plug-ins (QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player don't give me this warning) which tells me that there is a way to make the warning go away.
    Thanks again,
    Shyam

  • Am I correct that Photos does not support external editors? i.e., in Aperture, I click Photos Edit with.... and can open in Photoshop or various plug-ins. Changes are then automatically saved back to Aperture. Nonexistent in Photos?

Am I correct that Photos does not support external editors? i.e., in Aperture, I click Photos > Edit with.... and can open in Photoshop or various plug-ins. Changes are then automatically saved back to Aperture. Nonexistent in Photos?

Thanks Larry. That certainly gives me some understanding. Can't imagine I'm the only Aperture user with that concern, so I certainly hope Adobe and others will fill the void. Without that feature, Photos is pretty much a non-started for me.

Blocked plug ins - I paid apple support just one month ago to fix this problem, and they installed a new version of flash player. Now it is happening again. Is it possible for flash player to already have a new version?

Do I just try to install myself this time? I'm not good at this...

Adobe is a charter member of the version of the week club.
Just download the new version from adobe.com and install it.

I have a mac, In"Design CS 5.5, a design gave me a file said it was CS 6, does not open in CS 5.5..Message says "Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign."  I think I need to buy upgrade from 5.5 to 6. I found one on NextTechDirect for $150 to download. they are not a scam according to "scamadvisor.com."
When I drag the InDesign file that that was supplied by another designer who said it was  CS 6 onto my desktop it says CS 5.5. Is that because I only have CS 5.5?
    Should I buy this
Adobe InDesign CS6 Upgrade from CS5.5 WIN/MAC [Download] from Next tech....it is obviosly higher on the adobe site and alot of other places?

No one is likely to recommend where you buy your software from other than Adobe in these forums... not so much because of support for Adobe, but mostly because of lack of support/knowledge of any third party vendors.  I only know from experience that when you invest in bargain pricing you usually get what you pay for.

First, have you installed all the updates for photoshop cs5 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs5?
The automated installer only installs the following plugins:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4965
The following plug-ins and associated files are available via an installer:
    Automate Plug-Ins:
    • Contact Sheet II
    • Picture Package (ContactSheetII)
    • Web Photo Gallery (WebContactSheetII) plus presets
    • Script for Layer Comps to Web Photo Gallery
    Other Optional Plug-Ins:
    • TWAIN
Other plugins including the pattern maker plugin need to be installed manually using this download:

  • Nokia offers FREE plug-ins for some devices not supported by iSync 2.4

Nokia is now offering free plug-ins for otherwise unsupported Nokia mobile handsets in Mac OS X 10.4.9 and iSync 2.4 configurations. All support both Bluetooth and USB synchronization, and work only with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and iSync 2.4, bundled with it. The plug-ins listed below can be downloaded from Nokia here:
    http://www.nokia.com/A4299040
    Supported models include the…
    • E50
    • E60
    • E61i
    • E65
    • E70
    • N76
    • N93i
    • N95

That's a good point, and I should have taken the time to point that out.
It's not particularly important that Nokia has chosen to offer free plug-ins for a limited number of their mobile handsets not presently supported by iSync. The really important thing here is that a manufacturer has actually chosen to support the technology at all!
I do support a vibrant developer community, and think that Nova Media and others who have taken the time to create plug-ins and, who continue to support them, deserve to be compensated for their efforts. It worth noting that Nova Media was out front with support for Nokia mobile handsets about a year before Nokia itself chose to offer support. And, as Jan points out, they continue to support units that Nokia itself does not.
