Does LTE use more data usage than 4G?

Does LTE use more data usage than 4G?

The question makes no sense.
LTE and 4G are types of connections. They do not use Data, they allow your apps and services on the iPhone or iPad to use the Data access.
In most cases 4G is slightly slower than LTE.

    Not more data, just faster.

Does filevault use more disk space than when not using it?  I'm running an SSD drive and need to keep usage to a minimum.  Thx

The difference is about 200 MB, regardless of the size of the volume.

No, it won't work.. the Airports are not media devices.. they have no brains .. no media extensions.. and itunes must be running on a computer.
You can however watch movies from storage but not with itunes..
See how people use tools like VLC to get around Apple's built in iTunes limitations.

  • BW uses more Native SQL than R/3 does?

    hi all,
BW uses more Native SQL than R/3 does? can anyone explain me how does bw makes effective use of native sql. (i knew what is meant by native sql). can anyone explain me with an realtime scenario.

    Hi,
I don't get your question exactly; Native SQL is the SQL coding used in ABAP in order to deal with the underlying database objects (but I read that you knew that already...).
BW and R/3 are using extensively native SQL, I couldn't tell if one the application uses more than the other, furthermore I don't think such a statement would make sense.
BW uses native SQL to post data in the PSA, read this data in the PSA and pass it the internal tables for further processing (Trules / URules for instance); insert records in a cube; read the data in a cube/ods/IObj... in order to display the result of a query; native SQL is used for administrating the BW objects, monitoring, to record statistic; native SQL is used to generate code dynamically and to store/retrieve it from the database...
In few words, there's a database table behind every single object/process in BW and R/3.
The database is the memory of your system, native SQL is the mean to use this memory.
    hope this answers your question
    Olivier.

    thanks!

Not sure if it uses data, but that allows you to multitask.  To save battery life you should close out of all the apps.

  • Just downloaded the 7.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. Does this use up data and how can I get it to stop pausing for periods of time?

Just downloaded the 7.1.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. I'm wondering how I can stream more than just my purchased music? And does this use up data? Also, how can I get playback to stop pausing for periods of time? It is a wifi thing??

If streaming music when connected to your carrier's cellular network, it uses cellular data.
Only the music you purchased from the iTunes Store can be streamed unless you have purchased iTunes Match.
If there is a slow down at the server where the music is stored or high traffic, steaming can be paused. You can also download a song from the iTunes Store cloud to your iPhone so it doesn't need to be steamed.

  • Does FaceTime use my data from my data plan while I'm connected to 3G?

I like to FaceTime a lot and I have limited data due to my data plan. When I'm connected to 3G does it use my data? Thanks.

Yes, FaceTime will need to use data, either from your 3G or WiFi source.

  • Disabling data usage on Elipsis Tablet does not turn of Data Usage

Yesterday purchased 3 tablets for my kids. First thing I did when I got home was add home wifi and disable data usage. Ridicoulous but this does not disable data usage. Tablet used 4gb of data before I realized what was going on, all the while connected to home Wifi, like the data connectio took precedence. This is a major flaw of this tablet. Called Customer Service, waiting for a mgr to call back. Unfortunatly waiting on hold for over 45min without getting to tech support but in the end the only way to turn off data apparently (or at least I found) was to put in Airplane mode. This is not right!
Even support forum states this is the way to enable/disable data. I feel dooped!

I'm sorry you waited so long trying to get through to Tech Support dm805. I know being able to disable Mobile Data is important to keep usage under control. As Ann154 mentioned, you are able to turn off Mobile Data in Settings. You can go to Settings> Data Usage> Select Mobile Data (at top right hand side), and it will turn off.  You can also go to Settings> More> Mobile Networks> Uncheck Data Enabled.
    I hope this helps.

  • HT3819 Hi there. If I use "home sharing" on the same wifi network, does it use internet data, or only sharing over a home network?

Hi there. If I use itunes over home sharing in my house on 2 pc's, does it use data from my internet, or does it work over local home network?

You'd need both computers to be connecting to the same wifi network in order to Home Share.

  • Does it use cellular data to sync iPhone to iTunes on computer?

My phone is broken and it won't connect to wifi. I don't have any data left for my month.

Are you just syncing content? Or are you doing an update on the phone?
Syncing content doesn't use any data; not sure if updating a phone requires it to communicate with Apple's servers afterwards so that may use data.

  • Why does OS7 use more battery on iphone?

Upgraded to OS7 from 6.1.4 which was much better on battery life. Why does OS 7 use so much battery and how can I reinstall OS6?
Its using approx 10% of battery life every hour, when not using the phone and all apps switched off, push notifications off etc - if I was actually using the phone and making calls battery will be dead in no time!

why?i rip all my cd's in wma,y does wma files use more battery life?
Due to higher compression rate of WMA. The player will need higher processing power to process it thus the higher battery consumption but it should not affect it very much around 0-5% more only.

  • Why does Verizion care more about $30 than keeping customers?

My wireless contract is up on July 28, 2013.  I went to the store to upgrade our phones and renew our contract.  I received an email congratulating me on being such a great customer and I have worked hard to earn a free phone upgrade.  I go to the store, pick out our phones, the agent takes an hour to program the new phones and then tells me that we owe $150.00.  I ask why - he says it's the upgrade fee. The email I received didn't mention an upgrade fee, the sales person at the store never mentioned or advised us of a $30 fee for our free upgrade until after we picked out and he programmed our new phones.  When I called customer service and asked the supervisor "Is it more important to Verizon to collect the $150 upgrade fee than to keep me as a customer and earn monthly revenue from my wireless and Fios contracts?"  He gave a lame long winded response that started with "everyone else is doing it" and ended with yes.  So I asked him again "Is it more important to Verizon to collect the $150 upgrade fee than to  keep me as a customer and earn monthly revenue from my wireless and  Fios contracts?" - He said " yes.  It is more important to collect the fee than keep you as our customer."  I think this says it all...Verizon cares more about cares charging it's customer's extra fees than keeping us as customers.  And... Verizon...is "Everyone else charges" really a good reason for you to charge?  Remember when you were young asking your mom to do something and saying "Please everyone else is doing it" or getting into trouble and saying "Everyone Else is doing it"...what was the response?  The response was always.."What if everyone else were jumping off a bridge?"  Maybe if your customer service and sales people were less rude and you gave your customers more value for their dollar instead of more crap your long time customers would be looking elsewhere.  You want loyalty from your customers...you should try giving your customers a little bit of loyalty.  I will be moving our business elsewhere.

Firstly, the upgrade fee has been around since April of last year. Sorry you didn't know about it, but frankly it's old news by now.
Secondly, Verizon is actually charging you LESS than any other carrier would for an upgrade. AT&T's upgrade fee is $36, and Sprint's is all kinds of messed up and involves some sort of extra activation fee. So I wouldn't get all upset over the upgrade fee if I were you since leaving the company will cost you much more over time than just sticking with 'em.
Thirdly, there's no real excuse for how that CSR acted towards you, imho no CSR should ever tell you that their company values money more than their customers. That in particular I would file a formal complaint against that rep specifically because that behavior is inexcusable

  • IOS 5 will surely use more data allowance?

I'm concerned with IOS 5 and iCloud. Will all the updating and syncing come out if the monthly data allowance?

Since it's still in beta and anyone who truly knows is under NDA and can't discuss it, we can't really know until Apple releases more details.
However... I don't think it's fair to assume data usage will automatically increase under iOS 5, especially based on what we do know.
For example, in the pieces already implemented on the current version, you can set books, music and apps to automatically download when you download them on another device. There is a toggle, which is disabled by default, to allow this to happen over 3G. The default is to only do this while connected to WiFi.
I think it's fair to say that Apple is going out of their way to make sure this doesn't blow up in anyones face, especially given the low data caps that many of us have.
I have a 200MB cap on my AT&T plan and I rarely exceed about 120-150 a month because I'm almost always in range of WiFi.

  • IPhone 6 shows more storage usage than actually used

my iphone 6 Is using 54gb when I know I use less than that and I only had this phone for few months

How much is being used by other? This is the iOS, application data, mail data, and a few other things. If Other is more than 3GB, then that is indicitive of corrupted files on the phone. The way to take care of this is a restore. You can try a restore from a backup first, however that generally will just copy the corrupt file back to the phone, so you would need to restore as a new device. Remember, this will delete all data off the device.
