Does mac os x 10.8.2 support java 6?

Hi
Does mac os x 10.8.2 supports java 6?I want to install java 1.6.0_35 which supports my java application in mac os x 10.7.4 version. My application wont support java 7.Can anyone help me how to install java 1.6.0_35 and uninstallation of java 6 update 43.

AFAIK, no.
But you'll want to ask this question of Oracle, the owners and providers of Java for OS X.  (Apple deprecated Java a while back, and turned it all over to Oracle to maintain.)
Given that Java 6 has been deprecated by Oracle, adding this support would seem unlikely.
You can install and run an older OS X release or another Java-capable operating system as a VM guest, and use that pending an application update.  (Check the applicable OS X licensing for details of whether that's permissible by license, or check directly with Apple.)
Or update or replace the applications.

does mac os x 10.7.5 support running x code?

Yes. 4.6.3 is the latest version that'll run on Lion. That said, AFAICT, you can only get Xcode 5, via the MAS, which requires at least 10.8.4. Get Xcode says you can get earlier versions from the development center, but that requires registering for a free account: register as a developer at Apple Developer.

  • Does Mac Pro 4,1/5,1 support "buffered/registered" ECC memory?

As the spec said, Mac Pro 4,1 & 5,1 use ECC unbuffered memory, but I really do want to know if "buffered/registered" ECC RAM will work on Mac Pro 5,1 with no problem?
I know "Unbuffered and Fully-Buffered" memory are 2 totally different stuff, and cannot use with the other side.
But what about "buffered/registered" memory? Could it use under "unbuffered" mother board like MacPro 4,1 & 5,1? If so, can they mix with others?
I've google and search around the internet but still didn't find the answer...

    Mr. Bennet-Alder:
I think you are confusing DDR3 and DDR2 type of memory modules.
DDR2 PC2-8500 were the FBDIMMs that were used in the 2.1 and 3.1 Mac Pro versions (before 2009).
These were 800Mhz or 600Mhz versions.  They used serial data channels from one DIMM to the next so the DIMMs had to be clocked very quickly to achieve speeds.  Thus, the need for the fully buffered DIMM to pass the data from one DIMM to the next.   Because they were clocked so quickly, they had to have heat sinks to bring the temperature down to the lower fan speeds Apple wanted to use.   The heat sinks kept prices high.  So did the fact that few servers adopted the FBDIMM technology.   These also had ECC.
DDR3 PC3-10600 and DDR3 PC3-8500  were used in later MAC Pros, version 5.1 and 4.1 respectively.
    PC3-10600 is a 1333Mhz DIMM.   PC3-8500 is a 1066Mhz DIMM.
Both of these are using ECC bits.  Thus, there are actually 9 parallel data bits, one of which is for ECC.
Registered/buffered and Unregistered/unbuffered have a different meaning than  FBDIMM.
It is better to use the Registered/Unregistered terminology to avoid confusion with FBDIMMs.
Registered DIMMs are sometimes referred to as RDIMMs and Unregistered DIMMs as UDIMMs.
Also one may see an R on the end of the PC3-8500 designation as in PC3-8500R to designate registered memory.
One thing that is for sure, the memory controller in the CPUs has to have uniform memory in the slots for each given processor.   That is, you cannot mix registered memory in one slot with unregistered memory in another slot for the same processor.  Apple indicates the computer will not boot in this case.  This is because the signal timing differs to each and the memory controller in the CPU is only a homogeneous type.
Apple indicates that registered DIMMs are supported by Mac Pro version 5.1 - 2010 models.
They have not provided the same indication for Mac Pro version 4.1 - 2009 models.
WIth that said, firmware on version 4.1 macs may be able to be upgraded to support RDIMMs.
I suppose this updates the timing issue to suppor the RDIMMs.
    Why is this significant -
Used registered DIMMs with ECC are easier to come by due to people upgrading their server computer to more denser  memory capacity in the same slot.
Used unregistered DIMMs with ECC are harder to come by.
Accordingly, used registered DIMMs are less expensive on ebay.
    My 2 cents.

    i think so...

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List

    Are you being serious?
If you've done any programming in Java then I'd really have hoped you already realised it is a platform independent programming language, that was Sun's original intention when they created it ,  to be able to run compiled code on any Java Virtual Machine regardless of the platform:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_%28programming_language%29
And as for "dot net" - do you not realise that this is purely a MS Windows development framework?!!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework
Just to be clear, (and I realise I'm being picky here, given that English isn't likely to be your first language), they are not "developer programs", they are programming languages or frameworks.
And for further clarification, the Mac operating system does support Java development, and does not support .Net (unless you install Windows on it!)
I can't comment on the 'mainframe' bit you're referring to without more detail.

  • Does Mac support 1080p video?

Does mac and imovie 11 support 1080p video?

"Got your "Ins and Outs of iMovie" eBook; did not finish reading.
Read Appendix B (720p) or C (1080p). Here is some additional information for you:
When you next launch iMovie, and create a new project, the Project Properties will show 25fps or 30fps.
However, when you drag the first 50p or 60p clip into the project, when you check Project Properties you will see the fps field is blank.
Do not click in this Properties field.
From this point onward, iMovie will work at 50fps or 60fps.
Animated effects created by iMovie will be, however, created at25fps or 30fps. Each frame will be repeated twice.
iMovie must now process twice the number of frames per second, so it may be more sluggish.

  • MAC Server & iTunes : Does MAC Server support central iTunes repositories?

    I need some help
    Problem:
I have a family of "5" who are all MAC users - all alas have different MAC iTunes repositories. I want to create a central MAC Music repository to ease the pain on my checkbook. Three people bought Nora Jones new Album... one person pays - me
    Setup:
    Potential Server:
    BIGMAC1:
Dual Proc Power PC G4 1.25 Mhz, 1 gb RAM
Gig Ethernet Connectivity with 4 Terabytes of RAID storage.
    Clients:
    5 MAC's... (Mac Mini, 24" iMac (intel), 2 Mac Book Pro's (Intel), and a 12" Power PC)
    Current Setup:
I use symbolic links from the desktops to BIGMAC Music repository.
    Mount BIGMAC1 Disk via network
    Open System preferences
    Open Accounts
    Open login items
    Drag BIGMAC1 to login items
    Open iTunes
    <Backup iTunes music directory>
    Select preferences / advanced
Turn off “keep itunes organized” and “copy files to itunes” on all clients
    Exit
    For each user
    Delete <User>/Music/iTunes/”iTunes Music”
    ln –s /Volumes/”BigMAC1 Disk”/Music ./<User>/Music/iTunes/”iTunes Music”
Copy any purchased music to BIGMAC1
    Open iTunes on Client
    Delete Music library in iTunes
    Select add to library
    Select /Volumes/”BigMAC1 Disk”/Music
Once complete your all using the same repository
Issue: If someone adds new music you have to know and add it to you your library…
This works but every so often some family member does something that duplicates all the files in iTunes. I suspect this is something to do with consolidate music library options. "Picture Homer Simpson looking frustrated"
    Help: Is their Recommended Solution?
The above sort of work but is not perfect and I am not a "nerd". I need to maintain my social skills and would love to know if I can just install MAC Server or something equivalent and fix this.
In short: Does MAC Server solve this or does something else?
Hey Apple: I would line up and buy a solution if one existed...
    1. MAC Server in basement… access to music from PC around house. Music ordered is stored on basement PC and backup automatically…
    2. The ability to add a fourth child under account (MAC limit 5 machines to one iTunes Account)
Apple: I am not breeding until you allow me to purchase another person to the family music account…. You would stunt their childhood if this is not fixed...
    TechnoPhobe!

Your solution is as good as any to let you share iTunes tracks, especially ones purchased from the iTunes store amongst multiple users on a single computer.
If you had multiple computers, you could use the built-in sharing function of iTunes and then access them from the other computers, but the other computers would also need 'authorising' to play the protected tracks.
However there is something else you could consider. Have all the music and protected files on one computer, share it using iTunes, and access it using the new TV box. You could have multiple TV boxes and they would not need authorising to play the protected tracks. They would also not modify your iTunes files causing the problems you have occasionally experienced.
There are other similar approach devices like the Roku Soundbridge, Sonos ZonePlayer, SlimDevices Squeezebox but none of those support tracks purchased from the iTunes store whereas the TV does.

  • Does Mac support Canon MP600 scanner

my Mac support the printer portion but I cant get the scanner to work.  Does anyone know
if Canon MP600 is supported for the scanner portion of the machine?

Hi, to everybody who has a problem with the scanner MP600 on Mavericks. Found a way how it works:
Uninstall and Reinstall the software according to the instruction that Candacefae gave us. Instead pick software and driver for Lion including MP Navigator. Then Restart Computer. After done click on Application folder and Canon Utilities. Then click on MP Navigator. And voila. You can scan.
A little annoyance but it works. Keep in mind - clicking on System Preferences and Open Scanner will not work!
For everybody else who does not want to deal with all the steps there is always Vuscan - just cost $79.95 for the Premiumversion. Works with all Models no matter how old.

  • What does Mac OS 10.5 support?

I have a G4 Power Mac AGP Sawtooth running 1.3 MHz with 2 GB RAM and 2 MB for L3. Does Mac OS 10.5 support my machine? If so, how much will the Mac OS slow down my machine?
Thank you in advance for your information.
    Robert

If the 1.3 Ghz processor you put in does not act like a true PowerMac G4 1.3 Ghz in the view of the Leopard installer, it won't let you install. The processor needs specialized support from its manufacturer to allow Leopard to install, or third party software called Leopard Assist. Either way, you are building yourself a jalopy, because it is not officially tested as a configuration by Apple. Any updates you do past an unofficially tested configuration you are on your own or at the mercy of the vendor who supplied the processor.
Apple set the limit based on its built-in processors and its firmware. The firmware supplied by third party firmware for upgraded processors is different.

Hi I have delevolped a windows application using selenium , i need to know does MAC os support my windows app?

Not using OS 7, 8 or 9. Some later Macs running versions of OS X can run Windows applications using 3rd party emulation software. Most current Macs allow the instation of Windows.
What version of Windows does your app run on?
