Does Mac still sell the power cables for the late 2005 version of these?

I recently purchased a PowerMac but the pervious owner did not have the power cable. I assumed it would be no problem and that I could take a power cord from one of my other Macs, but I now see that this late 2005 model has a different socket then most macs it is square with horizontaly running bars and looks like [--_--]. I want to know if Mac still makes replacements for these and if they sell them at the Mac stores.

  • Does apple still sell replacement A1342 batteries for the white unibody macbook

Does Apple still sell replacment replacment batteries for the white unibody macbook?

The model 6,1 Late 2009 and the model 7,1 Mid 2010 with the A1342 case use an A1331 battery. You can replace it yourself or have Apple do it for you for $129. If you need it quickly make sure you order it from a U. S. seller. Orders from China can take two or three weeks.

Here's installation instructions. You'll need a Tri Wing Y1 screwdriver in addition to the usual #00 Phillips screwdriver.

  • Anyone know the length of the power cable for the official dock for the K1?

The power cable that came with the Ideapad K1 isn't long enough to reach my power strip behind my desk. I was wondering how long the power cable is for the dock that I see in the Lenovo store?
Besides that, I love this tablet, nice and easy to hold, probably one of the most comfirtable tablets to hold (next to what Sony just released). I'm a little disappointed with the wifi connection and the reboots (down to maybe one today with the new launcher *sigh*). Even with the issues, I trust Lenovo more in terms of support then I do anyone else.

Big Daddy, One other thing I forgot to mention is, If you open the case on your device, you'll instantly void any warranty that came with it. Also, bear in mind, any modifications that you make to the antenna system on this device could not only make the FCC approval that Linksys was given for the device null and void. Be very careful with anything like an antenna system on these devices, you can actually recieve RF burns if you contact any bare metal of the antenna system when it is transmitting. Just bear in mind that 2.4GHz is more less the same frequency that a microwave oven uses (although at a LOT lower power). As a radio ham, I've had the odd RF burn and I can tell you, they really hurt!.

  • I recently bought a Macbook Air and a Thunderbolt Display and the laptop's power is supposed to come from the display, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

I recently bought a 11" Macbook Air and a 27" Thunderbolt Display. The laptop's power is supposed to come from the display when connected, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.

If your MBair is a 2012 model, it has a Magsafe 2 power connection.  The monitor probably has the old magsafe connection.  If this is the case, you need this adapter.

  • When I connect my MacBook Air to iPads through a powered USB hub the power cord for the hub explodes and trips the fuse on the building. I've tried different iPads, cords, power points to no avail.

When I connect my mac air to some iPads through a powered USB hub for VPP/Configurator, the power point for the hub blows out (tripping the fuse in the building). I've tried different iPads, cords, power points and of course hubs. Also the computer has a habit of shutting down when any type of USB device is removed from it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've done some experimenting, and this is what I've found out:
    1) The problem persists when I reformatted the USB HDD devices to ExFAT, so the problem apparently wasn't due to NTFS for Mac OS X by Paragon.
    2) The problem persists even when BackBlaze is paused, so I don't think that it's due to BackBlaze.
    3) The internet cuts out as soon as data begins transferring either to or from a USB HDD device and won't reconnected until I eject and unplug the device.
    4) The problem affects data transfers through either USB port.

  • Why is the power supply for the Mini so big?e

Can anyone explain why the power supply / adapter for the mac mini is so big compared to the power adapters for the macbook? The processor and hard drive for the mini is the same as those for the macbook, so why is the power brick so much bigger? Just curious.

While I doubt anyone who knows for sure will be prepared to pop up and answer, I suspect the reason is two-fold: firstly that the supply is engineered for constant use, 24/7, where laptop supplies are not, and thus it is larger because the components are more rugged and over-specced, and secondly for lowest cost, since it is cheaper to engineer a larger product of this kind than a smaller one, due to the premium cost of the smallest narrow-tolerance components.

  • Are the usb cables for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s interchangeable?

Can I use my usb cable provided by my ipad 2 to connect my iPhone 4s to my iMac or vice versa. I noticed the usb cable for the iPad 2 is slightly thicker. Doesn't it mean it's better or faster in terms of transmission of data? Thank you.

    Identical cables.

  • Can I use adapter of the iphone (not the cable), to attach the power cable of a macbook pro bought in Canada? The power adpter for the macbook pro is two pins because it was bought in Canada. Thank you.

Hi! I will get a macbook pro bought in Canada soon. Can I use the adapter plug of my iphone (ireland) not the cable, as the adapter to plug my macbook? The power adpter of the macbook from Canada is a two pin. Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't, the Mac draws significantly more power than the iPhone. Why risk it.

  • Can I buy iMac power cables for the UK?

I am moving to the UK from the US and I have several Apple products. I would like to know if I can buy a replacement cable for each of them (iMac, MacBook Pro, Apple TV, MacBook Air) that will fit into a UK power plug. All are fairly recent purchases (less than 2 years old) and I don't want to replace them. I can fit the World converter plugs on my Ipod and iPhone chargers, but they wont fit on the laptop chargers.
    Thanks!

All you need is an UK IEC power cord for the iMac (see image) and adapters for the Macbooks and the Apple TV.
The power supply in iMacs, Macbooks and Apple TV is an auto switching power supply that will accept voltage between 100 and 240V
Any standard european IEC power cord will do, you do not have to by one from Apple, but the Apple one as a extra round plastic part that will fit snugly in the iMac. (see second image)
Using a adapter is also an option for the iMac, but they tend to fit loosely on the US plug and can be more easily disconnected than a real European cord. If you go with only adapters, make sure you get good ones that will fit tightly on the us plug.

  • Length of the power cable for Time Capsule

This probably sounds like a ridiculous question, but I need to know how long the power cable is that comes with the Airport Time Capsule. I'm planning to buy one this week but will need to move some things around to accommodate it, hence my question!

72 inches or about 183 Centimeters.

  • Does Mac Pro come with connecting cables for your add-on SATA drives?

I am buying some Western Digital OEM SATA drives to put in my Mac Pro that I just purchased and is being shipped to me. I realize that OEM drives do not have any connecting cables/hardware. I assume that Mac Pro does have the necessary connecting SATA cables and hardware to attach the drive to the sleds? Or do I have to purchase them separately?
    Thanks,
    John

Nobody does it better than Apple. For years I was always struggling with cables and hard disk setups and I knew as soon as larger hard drives were available I'd want to replace my 500Gig ones. Once the 750Gig came out I ordered four then found a quick hard drive install video that showed you how to pull out the tray, remove the old drive, insert the new drive and push the tray back in.
It was that easy. Mac machines are so cool.

  • What is the power cord for the airport extreme (A1354)?

What power cord and/or adapter is used for the 2nd and 3rd generation Airport Extremes?

My TC cable has 300v printed along it (just about read if the angle to the light is OK).
Also 120v @ 2.5 amps is roughly 240v @ 1.25 amps, so current draw is less on the higher voltage.
Should be fine, as long as the correct fuses are used in the plug. Which is there to protect the cable from wall socket to appliance and not the appliance itself.

  • The part of the power cable between the converter and the wall

I just bought a new MacBook in Malaysia... it has the big three pronged UK wall plug, both the little one (that makes you stay close to the wall), and the long cord one.
It also came with a US plug, but only the little, short one that just slides right on and makes you stay close to the wall or the outlet, not one with a cord.
I am going back to the US and want more distance and was wondering if I could use my old iBook cord... only the part between the converter and the wall, so that I can have a longer reach. I have looked and looked at wattage and voltage and can't tell if that will matter on this part. It doesnt' seem like it should, because it is before the conversion to the right voltage and wattage, but I don't want to plug in and explode anything.
    Thanks so much.

The iBook cord should work fine. There are no electronics in the tail piece of the cord, as it's just a wire, so there is no problem using them. Also, apple wouldn't allow the plugs to plugin if they weren't compatible.
As a side note, I keep that cord from my deceased iBook plugged in at my lab so I can easily plug my laptop in there and at home. The two plugs are identical.

  • The Hotsync cable for the Tungsten E2 just...won't come out

I just can't believe it! I tried...others tried...but I'm afraid of trying too hard because the port might get damaged....help please!!

    View Solution.

Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen? Is there an arrow with the option to "show hidden icons"? If you do not see it there, hot sync will be disabled and you will keep getting that message (the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established...).
To enable the hot sync program once again, click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS Desktop/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager. It will take about 5-10 seconds and the icon will be there once again.
Now the sync should go through.

  • Does the power cable from my 24" CinemaDisplay have to connected for the display to work.  I just had it repaired and now it seems to have to be plugged into the laptop  I dont remember it being like that before.

Is the power cable from the display required to be plugged into my MBP for my display to work.  Recently had work done on the display (power supply replaced twice, glass replaced twice).  Also since I got it back from repair  my system goes to sleep sleeps even though I have it set not to.  Frustrated

awesome, so you sound like you know what your going on about. im guessing its a Software fault tbh, because its like the phone is dead.. very upsetting..but with it not being the screen if they dont ask me to replace it and to send it off for repair what can i say as to a loan phone, mind a ease a little bit now i will just now wait for tommorrow to see what happens thank you
